Photo Stream Invitees Fail

I recently created a photo stream. 2 of the 4 invitees were successful. After repeated attempts, the other 2 fail each time I invite them to join. I believe the problem is caused by the different version of IOS. The 2 that failed have opted not to upgrade to IOS 7 at this time. The different versions is the only reason I can think of for the problem in adding these 2 invitees. Is that possible?

I know that one possible solution would be to have the 2 invitees upgrade their Iphones to IOS 7, but they prefer not to do that at this time. They are content with their present IOS version.

  • Photo Stream activation fails in iPhoto and Aperture

    Hi,
i've just updated to OSX 1.7.2 on my iMac and MBA and to iOS5 on my iPhone 4S and iPad 2. Everything basically works well except the iCloud photo stream on my mac.
iPhone and iPad play well and push and pull fotos from the photo stream.
On the mac i can't activate the photo stream. I've updated iPhoto and Aperture but when i try to activate the photo stream it says that it's unable to reach the photo stream. I've already logged out from i cloud and re logged in again but that didn't help. iPhoto and Aperture are the latest versions.
    Anyone with an idea?
Addition: Activation works well on another iMac with another iCloud account from my girl friend (in the same local network), i've also double checked little snitch isn't blocking anything.
Addition 2: It also works on my MBA with the same iCloud account that doesn't work on the iMac. Weird,

I'm fairly certain that it's an account-wide preference. You could always enable a second user account, turn on Fast User Switching, and only swap to that account to launch iPhoto and do your Photo Stream business.

  • How do I add invitees to an existing photo stream on my iPad

I created a photo stream and invited a friend to it.  Now. I want to add someone to the same photo stream from my iPad.  I cannot figure out how to do this from my iPad.  From iPhone it's easy, not the iPad though.....help please

From the iPad user guide located in your safari bookmarks:
Turn on Shared Photo Streams:  Go to Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream.
Create a shared photo stream:  Tap Photo Stream, then tap . To invite other iOS 6 or OS X Mountain Lion users to subscribe to your shared photo stream, enter their email addresses. To post the photo stream on icloud.com, turn on Public Website. Name the album, then tap Create.

  • Photo Stream fails to load all photos from iPhone to Aperture (3.3.2)

using Aperture 3.3.2 on macbook pro with mountain lion - photos that do get imported are from other projects (aperture library on imac), and iphone photos don't get imported. Tried several things: turning off and turning on photo sharing from all devices, checking to make sure that no conflicts exist between iphoto, aperture, that shared Aperture libraries are sync'ed.
Also, tried to insert ONE photo from existing Aperture library into photostream. After 4 hours, no synchronization on any mobil device (iphone, ipads). Tried turning off photo stream in iphone and restarting it ..no problem recreating the stream...
Any ideas what to try? I'm stumped.
    Thanks in advance

Photostream only uploads the photos taken (or imported to the device) AFTER you enable Photostream.  Photos from prior to Photostream being turned on will not upload.  You could just take screenshots of the older photos to create 'new' images, or transfer your photos to your computer manually.

  • How can I share iphotos with others on the web using photo stream?

The apple instructions for iPhoto 11 says:
It’s easy to create a photo stream to share your photos. You can also view the photos you’ve already shared.
To create a shared photo stream:
Select the photos you want to share.
In the toolbar, click the Share button, choose Photo Stream from the pop-up menu, and then click New Photo Stream. The New Shared Photo Stream dialog appears.
In the To field, type the email addresses for your invitees. To enable your invitees to access the shared photo stream from an iOS device, you must provide the email addresses associated with their iCloud accounts.
In the Name field, type a name for the photo stream.
    etc
All I get is that photo is already shared, or no dialogues at all
I certainly never get a chance to choose a "New Photo Stream" oenter an email address
    WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

    What version of iPhoto?

  • Is there a way to clean up accidentally shared photos by photo stream on a friend iphone by using same apple ID??

    Hi guys,
recently one of my friends has signed in to icloud with my apple ID and my photo stream was on too.
so now she has access to my contacts and some of the photos and it has actually got a lot too mixed up.
I found out about the situation and decided to change my password and then i changed the setting state of photo stream to OFF and the same for contacts.
so what i would like to know is:
By changing the password, would it still allow the person to have access to my photos and contact or either of them?
or is there any other suggestion to help me fix this??
NB: about contacts , i was trying to delet my account from her iphone and log her in with a new one and then try to remove the unwanted contacts from each other phone by icloud.com.
but still i,m looking for a quicker way for contacts and one specially for Photos.
does any one know anything to help me in this situation?
    Thank you

    Hi
I don't think this has anything to do with caches, NetInfo or anything else. If you want to remove the AD Setting completely then remove the whole of the DirectoryService folder in /Library/Preferences as well as the edu.mit.Kerberos file in the same folder followed by a restart.
You could also consult the manual pages for dscacheutil? Something like sudo dscacheutil -flushcache might help?
If there is no Mac Server in the mix then there are no managed preferences. Apart from a password policy and providing a home folder Active Directory can't affect the macs in any other way.
The AD plug-in requires an administrator name and password that has authority over the AD Domain. If you are absolutely certain you are providing the correct name and password (check again with the IT) then try accessing the user's home folders the 'normal way' ie: Connect to Server > smb://IPaddress of Windows Server. When prompted for authentication supply the admin name and password as given to you by your IT Department. Does it fail to log in now? Try with the user's name and password as well. Does it log in now?
As for the user can he/she log in with their account details on any of the other mac clients? Is it just this one mac client affected? Is it just that one account? Perhaps something changed on this client mac? Network Settings possibly? Maybe a time sync issue?

  • Can I recover photos no longer in my photo stream

I was recently travelling in the USA and my iPad was showing a lack of storage space despite there being plenty, I went to the Apple store in downtown SAN FRANCISCO and it was decided we could reset it which would wipe everything but the photos I had already taken in Yosemite were already on my iPhone thanks to Photo Stream, what I failed to realise was that because Photostream is constantly updating and has a limit of 1000 photos, my photos which I had failed to save from the stream would disappear furhter into my trip, I AM LEFT WITH ONLY THOSE PHOTOS I put into a WEB Archive. Does any body know if I can recover my lost photos or are they lost in the CLOUD forever

what I failed to realise was that because Photostream is constantly updating and has a limit of 1000 photos, my photos which I had failed to save from the stream would disappear furhter into my trip,
So you did not import the photos from the Photo Stream to your iPhone? If the Photo Stream has not been automatically downloaded to a device, there is no way to retrieve the streamed photos that are no longer in iCloud. The Photo Stream is only a temporary buffer for downloading, not a permanent cloud storage.
You could try data recovery tools to recover the photos from your iPhone, but that will be expensive with uncertain success. It will largely depend on how much mememory your iPhone has.  I never tried any of the iPhone data recovery tools.

  • I am unable to upgrade iphoto 8.12 to access photo streaming.  It gives an error message when I try to update

Icloud shows photo stream not available since it states it needs Iphoto update required

It brings me to : Support/apple.com/kb/ht4906  iPhoto and Aperture: using Photo stream

There is a link to Mac App Store for update

    A popup comes up:
There is a problem with the subscription
Request to the server Macappstore://showUpdatespage failed.
I hit Ok (my only choice)
    And I am at iphoto.
    What is the fix?
    I have spent many hours.

If you have iPhoto 8.x and want to access photostreaming, you need to buy iPhoto 9 from the App store or buy the iLife '11 package. Have you already purchased iPhoto 9 from the App store?

  • Shared photo stream no longer working.  Please help

I was making shared photo streams on my MacBook Pro, iPhoto 9.5, Mavericks, no problem.  The past week, 90% of the time, it fails.  I have tried dragging photos into iCloud, and now the photos are not even accepted.  Please help.  Tons of photos to save (also save on Carbonite), but want them in iCloud to share with family.

  • Why photo stream is not working in my iPhone 4s with ios 6?

Since i update my iphone 4s to ios6, the photo stream function does not work.
After the ios 6 upgrade i checked that my photo stream photos, where there both in iphone and imac (i used iphoto, now i am using aperture..see comment below). Yesterday i delete the pictures from my photo stream and i tried to take new pictures to upload but all my attempts were failing.
Specifically, I have full battery and i am connected to wi-fi. I have the photo stream function "on", in the icloud settings, and i take a picture with my camera. I close the camera application and i go to the photo application to see this picture in "my photo stream". There is no picture there.
I have tried several things either from apple's trouble shooting guides or from several related discussions in forums, like opening and closing photo stream in iphone and imac. I reset photo stream from icloud and i even delete and recreate my icloud account. I closed the photo stream function both in my imac and iphone and i restarted them, but again no result. I hard reset the iphone and re-open photo stream
I have checked that i use the same icloud account and it is correct.
Another tip is that i recently upgrade Aperture to 3.4 in order to support photo stream. Since then i was using iphoto. The strange thing, is that after the upgrade, i lost the photo stream function in iphoto and i have it only in Aperture. In Aperture, I was able to see the photos i had photo streamed before the upgrade to ios 6
Furthermore, i tried to make a share photo stream and i shared a picture with my email address. I went to aperture where i can see the new shared photo stream folder but is is empty. In my iphone, i find the shared folder with the picture.
I really dont know what else to do because i have tried anything possible and i have search the whole web for a solution
    Please help
    thanks!

The current version of the Facebook app requires iOS 4.3 or later, as do many current or recent apps. Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
    Regards.

  • Photo stream will not work in Aperture

I have photo stream and sharing set up on iCloud and when signed in Aperture keeps asking me to sign in when I check the box to set up Photos stream.
There is an obvious logic error as the message to sign in on iCloud will not go away even though I am signed in and it is impossbile to do anythign else... or get that message to go away (other than cancelling it).
What a joke iCloud is anyway but in Aperture it's totally non-functional for me...
I'm updated the the vey latest verison of Aperture 4.

For some posters it helped to
    reboot
log into a new user account and to sign into iCloud from this account
and to enable Photo Stream in Aperture from this account. Import some images, then sign out of Photo stream again and log off.
Log into your regular account, and try if you now can enable Photo Stream in Aperture.
    Regards
    Léonie
Added: Just in case the above does not help: Your Photo Stream is stored in your User Library:
    ~/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/
Check, if the permissions for your user Library need repairing, and set them to give you Read+Write access, if necessary.
If all fails, copy any images you find in this folder to a backup folder to save the image files and delete the folder.
