My external Time Machine disk is almost full. I know TM is supposed to erase the oldest back-ups to make room for newer ones but is it safe for me to just erase the back-ups from 2 or so years ago to make room for TM as well as anything else I might want to add to this external drive?
Time Machine makes room for backups as necessary in a complex and sophisticated fashion, and it's not something to mess with lightly. However there are instructions at the bottom of this link which tell you how you can. how long does it take to delete an account from a macbook (OSX 10.9.4)? I used secure delete (at the recommendation of the apple genius) and it has already taken 2 weeks... and still not deleted! Granted there was over 200GB of data... any ideas on this? thanks

I've imported some midi tracks, used the mixer to set pan, volume etc, but when I stop playback and restart it sets every midi track back to '0'. I've been using LE for years, this is a new one, any ideas?
Hi,
that's because Logic reads the volume information out of the imported MIDI tracks and sets the volume fader according to this information. The MIDI information overrides volume settings you have done, so you have to identify the MIDI events that contain volume (or expression or pan or whatever) information and delete them. You can use the event list editor for this.

When I pull the notification screen down after about 5 seconds the screen goes black and then the apple appears for about 30 seconds and then returns to the home screen, this is an iPhone 4 running ios7 , any ideas??
One problem though, the top button on my phone is jammed so i cant power off the phone, anyway of resetting the phone without using the top button ?

Sometimes my back button is greyed out and does not show the previous page i was just looking at!?
This randomly happens and i can not tell exactly what i do or why.
All i know is that every time you visit a page,site, picture etc... the back button remembers every page you have just been too in that session.
However some times the back button goes grey and i can not click on it and it loses all the previous pages i have been to.
I can reopen the last pages by going to my history but it's really annoying as it takes time and as i surf and look at a lot of things, the back button is crucial for me.I am experiencing the same problem with the back button randomly being greyed out and not functional. If I navigate to the same page a second time, the back button is usually functional again... have not been able to associate this behavior with any particular site

I just got new apple headphones and the earpiece came off, how can I get new ones?
I read that the 5s and what's included in the box when you get it comes with a 1 year warranty and I take care of my earphones so I don't know why the earpiece just broke off. Would I need to buy new ones or can I get new ones from apple since the year warranty isn't up yet?
Bring them to Apple and find out. The Genius will examine them. Only the Genius can determine if the headphone broke from manufacturer defect or from user abuse.

Since I updated my iPad 2,it makes a shutter sound ( like its taking a picture) every time I close its cover,or even when I just set it down. Any idea on how to fix this? Thank you!

Hey guys so i just recently piced up an 07 macbook for the time being till i can afford to buy a new one. Right now its running os x 10.5.8. Basically ive read tht you can not skip any updates, is this right? I know 10.6 is the next step up upgrade wise, and i cant seem to find it on the internet anywhere? Pls help me. Can i skip 10.6 and upgrade higher right away or wht? Wht do i need to do and where can i find the updates?
OS X 10.6 comes in the form of a physical CD. You could start by calling your local Apple store and seeing if they still have any.

Sorry, but the apps are tied to the former iTunes Store account, and if your ex wife was granted ownership, you no longer have a legal right to the apps and will have to purchase them again through your own new iTunes Store account.

Trying to import my old book marks from my old version of firefox on my old hard drive which I now have as a buddy onto my new system and re installed firefox. Any one have any ideas ?

Would like to try out iwork for ipad and I was to sign in to icloud and then access the Pages, numbers, etc. I dont find a signon and cannot find where I can download the app..
You can't access icloud.com on your iPad. You have to access it using your computer browser. After creating iWork documents using the iWork beta apps on icloud.com, you have to purchase the corresponding apps from the app store for your iPad in order to access the documents or create new documents on your iPad.
