Photo stream not updating in iPhoto

Photos that I take on my iPhone 4 are showing up in the Photo Stream on that device and on my iPad but not in iPhoto, at least not for a long time (hours or days). Quitting and restarting iPhoto doesn't help. Yes, Photo Stream is turned on in iPhoto preferences, with automatic uploading enabled. Any clue how to force it to show all my recent photos?

I was able to force a download of my photostream by disabling Automatic Import and Automatic Upload in Preferences>Photostream.

why do videos from a shared photo stream not appear in iPhoto?  Within iMovie, it appears as though videos can be imported from the iPhoto library.  However, within iPhoto there are no videos that appear within the Library.  Is it possible to import photos into iPhoto from a shared photo stream?  if not, how can videos be imported into iPhoto?

  • Why is my Photo stream not updating?

    Hello everyone,
I'm running an iMac, iPhone and iPad, and have photo stream set up between them. I took some photos on my iPad, and set up a stream (to the best of my ability anyway - this is all abit new to me). The photos went to my iPhone easily enough, but I had to go into Tunes to look for them on my iPad. I asked iTunes to sync they did finally appear in iPhoto on my Mac.
I then straightend and cropped them in iPhoto - these were clearly flagged up as being in Photo Stream - but this hasn't updated the photos on either my iPad or iPhone. Is it supposed to? I thought that's how the cloud worked? I have all boxes ticked in iCloud in iPhoto preferences.
Any advice or info would be welcome. I'm not sure if this operator error, a cloud error, or I'm asking it to do something it can't.
    Many thanks in advance.

  • Why is Photo stream not updating on my MacBook?

Photostream is still very, very slow which is a little disappointing.. I have a very fast 100mbps down and 5mbps up Cable Internet connection so there is no problem there.
The main problem tha I have is the iPhoto seems to not want to update the Photostream. The photos have been slow to appear on ATV 2 and the iPad but have not appeared in iPhoto at all.
    Any thoughts or tips?
    Thanks in advance.

Forgive the obvious questions, but you don't say what you've tried.
Is the MacBook signed into the same iCloud account as the iPad and the ATV?
Did you turn on Photo Stream in the iCloud Panel of System Preferences?
Did you turn on Enable Photo Stream AND Automatic Import on the Photo Stream panel of Preferences... in iPhoto?

  • Shared Photo Streams Not Updating?

About a week ago I realized my shared photo streams were not updating. I am not recieving any new photos that my friends are posting, and when I upload new photos they don't go to any of my friends' devices. How can I fix this problem?
    Thanks!

I have had the same problem - Shared Photo Streams (evidently) do not update dynamically. There is also no button to force an update in the photo app either.
On your iDevice by going into Settings > Photos & Camera and switching off "Shared Photo Streams".  Go into your Photo app and check that they have been removed.
Now go back into the same Settings sub-menu and re-enable "Shared Photo Streams".  Back in the Photo app, you will see the shared stream update with the correct photos.
I have the exact same problem with any shared photo streams I create on my iPhone - they do not appear on my iPad unless I do the above.  The same goes for iPhoto/Aperture on my Mac.

  • Photo stream not updating in Photos on iMac

My photos stream is working on iPhone and iPad but not on the iMac - it accesses photos from about 10 days ago, that's from before Photos was installed but it won't automatically pick up new photos taken on iPhone or iPad since Photos replaced iPhoto.
If I mail the new photos to myself I can import them into my photo library but they aren't appearing in the photo stream.
I have iCloud photo sharing turned off because I have w-a-a-ay too many photos in my library to store that way. Shouldn't Photo Stream work independently of iCloud photo sharing?

I was able to force a download of my photostream by disabling Automatic Import and Automatic Upload in Preferences>Photostream.

  • Photo stream not working in iPhoto

I enabled icloud in iphoto but only a few photos come thru in "My Photo Stream." My shared photo streams with other people show up but no photos are showing up in the shared streams. It shows 0 photos in all of them but on my devices all my streams (shared or just my photo stream) are fine. Please help! It's frustrating!

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion
is your profile signature above still valid?
I enabled icloud in iphoto but only a few photos come thru in "My Photo Stream."
My Photo Stream will only show the recent photos that are currently in iCloud, after you turn it on, - the photos added during the last 30 thirty days, and at most 1000 photos.
My shared photo streams with other people show up but no photos are showing up in the shared streams. It shows 0 photos in all of them but on my devices all my streams (shared or just my photo stream) are fine. Please help!
The Shared streams will take some time to populate. After the Yosemite upgrade I had to wait for a full day, until the shared streams showed the photos. If the do not show up after some more waiting, disable "Photos" in the iCloud System Preferences, restart the Mac, and turn it on again. Then enable it also in iPhoto again.

  • Photo stream not updating from camera

I've been having a days worth of trouble with my iphone camera.  Pictures are in the camera roll but never move to the photo stream.  If I connect the phone to my mac, and import the pictures into iphoto and THEN into photo stream, the pictures show up.  This is not how stream is supposed to work.  Any thoughts?  I've turned the cloud settings on and off, the stream never fully syncs.

    Hi MacTeacher,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
These tips may help with troubleshooting your Photo Stream:
    iCloud: My Photo Stream troubleshooting

I don't see photos in My Photo Stream on my iOS device.
From the Home screen, tap Settings > Wi-Fi. Make sure that Wi-Fi is turned on and your device is connected to a wireless network. If necessary, troubleshoot your Internet connection on your iOS device.
Ensure that the Camera app is closed on the device that took the photo. Photos will not upload from an iOS device to My Photo Stream until the Camera app is closed.
Ensure that your iOS device has not fallen below 20% battery power. To preserve battery life, Photo Stream downloading and uploading are disabled when the battery reaches this threshold. Downloading and uploading will resume once you charge your device and the battery charge is greater than 20%.
    Best,
    Jeremy

  • Photo stream not updating

My Photo Stream is currently not updating in Photo's. The last picture imported from my photo stream was April 7th? Any trouble shooting for this? All preferences are checked to automatically upload pictures taken with my iPhone to my photo stream so they should be in the iCloud section of Photos. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try disabling both the My Photo Stream and iCloud Photo Sharing in Photos' iCloud Preference pane.  Close Photos, reboot, open and reenable them.  See if that will jumpstart the My Photo Stream.

  • My Photo Stream not updating in new Photos app

I do NOT have iCloud photo library on, so why won't My Photo Stream update?

Same issue here. I installed iCloud 4.0 for Windows, but it looks like this started before I did that according to when the photos stopped syncing. I've done what you described, but have gotten no photos on the PC since September 7, 2014. Photos are being shared from my iPhone to iPad just fine, though.

  • Why does photo stream not update latest photos to ATV?

Noticed this weekend when I posted photos from my iPhone, iPad, or iMac to photo stream all my devices immediately updated all devices with the new pictures from iCloud, my apple TV does not do this anymore.  I needed to turn off photo stream in settings and then turn on photo stream to get the new pictures.  It used to be automatic like all my other Apple products.

This issue is has been resolved.  The updates are much slower that to an iPad or iPhone however it is now automatically updating without any manipulation.

  • Shared Photo Streams not appearing in iPhoto.

I have a few Photo Streams that were recently shared with me. I can access them fine on my iPhone. When I am on my MacBook Air however, these Photo Stream folders are no where to be found.
I followed this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3989 and more specifically double checked these instructions:
I don't see any photos or shared photo streams in the Photo Stream view of iPhoto or Aperture.
    Check the following:
From your Mac, choose System Preferences > iCloud, and make sure the Photo Stream checkbox is enabled.
Open iPhoto or Aperture, choose Preferences > Photo Stream.
If you are using iPhoto 9.4 or later, or Aperture 3.4 or later, make sure that both the My Photo Stream and Shared Photo Streams checkboxes are selected. If you'd like all new photos that you've uploaded to your iPhoto or Aperture library to be uploaded to My Photo Stream, make sure that the Automatic Upload checkbox is selected as well.
If you are using iPhoto 9.2.2 through 9.3.2, or Aperture 3.2.3 through 3.3.2, make sure that Enable Photo Stream and Automatic Import are selected.
Make sure your Mac has an an active Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.
Everything was set up as suggested above.
My Macbook is on iPhoto 9.2.3, with OS 10.7.5
    My iPhone is on 6.1.3
Additionally, when i view photos from a shared photo stream folder on my phone and then select to save one of the photos to my Camera roll, the photo is still not syncing to my Photo stream on the Mac.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Larry,
Having a similar issue as the one described by kmacd...  I'm trying to set up Shared Photo Streams between my MacBook Pro (Late 2009 13") and my iPhone 4, to essentially use them as streaming albums.  Both devices are set up with iCloud with the same account, and both have all settings enabled for Shared Photo Streams, as I can create and modify streams in both.  The problem is that when I create a new stream on one, it never shows up on the other!  I never receive an invite, which I assume I wouldn't since it's all the same account.  Just not sure why the Shared Streams don't sync over multiple devices when the normal My Photo Stream works perfectly fine.  Any thoughts??  Thanks!
    Hardware/Software Specs:
    MacBook Pro 5,5 (Late 2009 13")
    OS X Mavericks 10.9.1
    iPhoto v9.5.1 (902.17)
    Aperture 3.5.1
    iPhone 4iOS 7.0.4
Note:  I am currently in the process of downloading iPhoto 2.0 for iOS to see if there's any way to access the streams through that.  Figured it's worth a shot!!

  • Unable to add additional photos to shared photo stream, not updating on iOS devices either.

I am sharing photos from a vacation with family and I am not able to add additional photos to the photo stream. I set it up in iPhoto on my Mac. I think it originally tapped out for some reason because I hit a daily limit for number of photos uploaded. I had about 440 photos in the photo stream. I went and deleted some photos and now have 350 but the iOS devices haven't dropped down to that number yet. When I manually drag a new photo to add to the photo stream it doesn't add. Any thoughts on how to correct?

I turned off photo sharing in iphoto and then turned it back on and that resolved the issue.

  • Shared photo stream not updating on ipad ios 7.1?

I have an iphone 4 and an ipad mini both on ios 7.1
I use them interchangeably to look at or add to shared photo streams. They have both worked great for some time although today the ipad is not showing about 30 photos/videos. An example is out of about 1300 pictures 30 of them were posted yesterday that are NOT visible on my ipad. They are however visible on my iphone. I can add NEW photos to the stream from either device and the other device updates accordingly but for some reason those 30 or so pictures will NOT show up on my ipad. What am I missing?
