Photo stream not working on my pc

I have downloaded the iCloud app for my PC.  PC is running windows 7 x64.
I have an SSD (small size) so I have changed the default path in the iCloud preferences for Photo Stream to a secondary hard drive destination (D:\pics\iCloud).
Regardless of applying, restarting, etc., there is never anything loaded into that directory.
I have checked the default path and there's nothing there either.
In the My Computer window, it shows all my hardware, drives, and even has the entry below for "iCloud Photos" under favorites, but clicking on the "My Photo Stream" leaves me with an empty directory.
Right clicking on the "iCloud Photos" under My computer and then selecting "Open" takes me to the same directory (mystery path - thanks Windows 7!) which lists Computer -> iCloud Photos (but not the real directory) to which opens the same (I suppose) empty directory.  There appears to be no way to check what directory this is sending me to, but appears to be the same empty directory (D:\pics\iCloud - see above why).
So, question is - how to I force iCloud to see this redirected destination and update it?  I have no problems with my account - signed in and everything else is working.  This is quite maddening.

No, I certainly am not saying it's a feature; just a widely discussed issue that as far as I know has no current solution.  I was only sharing this so you were aware that you weren't alone in having this problem, and that it may not be solvable at the current time.  If you search the forums perhaps you'll find a solution I'm not aware of.

    everything slow
    any ideas?

On your Mac disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.

  • Why does photo stream not work on 4g

Hi, I have a iPhone and a Mac and an iCloud account, but why does photo stream not work on 4g, but as soon as I connect to wifi, it send photos to photo stream, can please tell why it does not send photos to photo stream when on 4g, thanks.

The data requirements for sending potentially many photos can be too taxing/costly on a carrier's data plan.

  • Photo Stream not working on the Mac

Photo Stream is working on my iPhone, iPad and MBP but can not get to work on my iMac. Everything is turned on. Any suggestions?

On the iMac open System Preferences > iCloud.
Switch Photo Stream off then back on then restart your iMac.
If that doesn't help, try here > Resetting your Photo Stream

  • HT201317 Photo stream not working on all photos

Why does the iPhone not always send photos I ve taken to iCloud or to my iPad ? Does iCloud/photo stream really work? Never worked properly for me..... Some do and most of time don t . Both have been in the same room to pick up wifi for over 48 hours and still not all photos sync

PhotoStream will only upload newly taken pictures. All older pictures or pictures that existed before adding/enabling photostream will not be affected/uploaded. Also PhotoStream will not function if the devices battery is under 20% battery. To troubleshoot, open the task manager and exit photos/gallery and then re-open/recheck.

  • Photo Streaming not working on new iPhone 4s

    Hi guys,
I just got my new iPhone 4s and turned Photo Streaming on, in the iCloud prefs, but nothing happens. I chose to backmy iPhone from iCloud instead of my computer. I have double checked that I'm linking the correct iCloud account, that I'm on a wifi network and on my other devices(AppleTV and iPad) Photo streaming works fine.
    Any ideas?

Photo Stream only works over WiFi, so are you connected to WiFi?

  • Shared Photo Stream not working on my MacBook Pro 10.7.5

I currently have a shared stream with my wife on my iPad and her iPhone. I want to share photo's with her from my MacBook. I have turned on photo stream in iCloud preferences and photo share in iPhoto preferences. I select the photo's to share in iPhoto, click on the share icon, then photo stream. Nothing happens, I don't get any option to add or create a shared photo stream. In the source list my photo stream in the latest category, I see in iCloud help it is in the Web category. Not sure if this is the problem. I just want to share photo's from my Macbook Pro.

As far as I know, D2 will only work on legacy systems that do not run on intel processors. The game only works on the older PowerPC system, unfortunately.

  • Saved search for Photo Stream not working in Mavericks

I have a saved search for JPGs in my photo stream so I can easily access them via Finder instead of iPhoto. In Mavericks my saved search no longer sees my latest photo stream iPhone pics. Anyone else notice this? I can see them in iPhoto though. I've tried re-doing the search, etc, but it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Oh man, I've been beating my head on the desk trying to fix this. The only clue I have is that photos taken from iOS 7 (vs iOS 6) devices after about a week ago (wasn't there an OS X update recently?) don't show up in finder the same. When you dig through the "sub" folder to find the long-named folders with the photostream files in them, hit command+i and check out the "More Info:" section. The recent ones don't have anything in them (see http://d.pr/i/WKzR). Furthermore if you drill down to one of those folders containing such an image (see: http://d.pr/i/nIUP) and try to create a saved search from there it won't show up (see: http://d.pr/i/FOri).
I even tried to create an automator to pull those images out, but when you're searching for a file in any of those new folders finder doesn't see anything.
Not an answer for ya, just more confusion. Let me know if you get any bright ideas.

  • Photo Stream not working correctly

Ok so here is my situation:
iPhone4s - Photo Stream folder shows iPhone photos and iPad photos. Perfect.
IPad2 - Photo Stream folder shows iPhone photos and iPad photos. Perfect.
PC - Photo Stream folder shows iPhone photos but does NOT show iPad photos. This is my issue.
Surely there is a way to make this work. I have done much reading here on the forums and have tried some stuff like turning photo streaming off on all 3 devices, turning it back on. I have signed out of icloud and back in on the PC. Nothing works.
Please help me with ideas on how to fix this.

Well, I figured it out. Went to icloud.com. settings. Reset Photo Stream. It all now works!

  • Photo Stream not working under IOS 7 and Aperture 3.4

Since updadting to iOS 7, no matter what I do, my iPod Touch (latest generation) does not work with Photo Streams that I shared via Aperture. Friends who are subscribed still see the streams but I do not.
My device no longer accepts new invitations so I cannot resolve it via an invitation to myself.
This does NOT have to do with a 30 day window that photos stay in the cloud. Even very recent photos shared do not show up. I cannot even locate the shared streams on the device.
Troubleshooting in support is NOT applicable where it says to turn off the cloud sharing & delete photos. That only restarts "My Photo Stream" and nothing else. Shared streams from Aperture 3.4 are still NOT accessible.
This has to be an iOS 7 issue!

You could certainly be out of storage on your iPad.  Now that you've added even more photos, see how much space is left on your iPad.

  • Photo stream not working iPad to iPhone

Pics that are saved in my photo stream on my iPad don't show up on my iPhone. It used to work fine, but recently my iPhone just turned off all iCloud settings by itself (another issue), now it won't transfer iPad to iPhone. Pics transfer from iPhone to iPad fine.

If photos taken on your iPad appear in the my photo stream album on your iPad, they are successfully being added to photo stream.  If they don't, save the photo stream photos to your camera roll, then turn photo stream off and back on.  (Note: photo stream photos are uploaded when you are connected to wifi with the camera app closed and have at least 20% battery life remaining.)
If they are being added to photo stream on your iPad, but do not appear in the my photo stream album on your phone, save the photo stream photos on your phone to your camera roll, then turn photo stream off and back on.  Test photo stream again.

  • Photo stream not working on iPad

In the last month or so, Photo Stream on my iPad mini and on my Mac does not upload photos from my Camera Roll.
I don't and haven't used iCloud Backup, as use my exchange server, which has never been a problem before.
    Anyone else have this problem?
    Thanks,
    Lynn

    Hello MLynnCaspe
Check to make sure that the Camera app is closed and have a charge on your iPad so that it will upload to your My Photo Stream. The article below will have some other troubleshooting steps to get it working again.

  • Photo stream not working after ios7 update

after updating to ios7 new photos taken with my iPhone 4S are not streaming automatically. my photo stream is activated in settings on all devices.

    hi léonie,
yes, i know it sometimes takes awhile to sync, but the 6 photos i took last night in the club, where there was no wifi, have not shown up in my photo stream. usually, they will sync once i have returned to a wifi network.
fortunately, i could share them in a new stream which i could then fetch on my home computers.
however, i have taken new photos today and it has worked seamlessly. so, i consider the problem resolved even though it is still a mystery for the 6 photos i took last night.
i generally enjoy the my photo stream service, although i am never sure where to erase photos. i have determined that once they are on all devices, you must erase the photos on all devices individually.
i use this server frequently as i take pictures all day and edit them when i get home. it is good to have the photos on the server and not have to physically download them to the machine on which i do my sorting and editing.
now, if only it would work with adobe lightroom, it would be perfect.

  • Importing photos from Photo Stream not working properly

I've been trying to work out a way to import photos on my iMac and have Photo Stream push them to my MacBook so they end up in the same Event on both computers. If I have Automatic Upload turned on, the photos I import on my iMac get uploaded to Photo Stream before I get a chance to place them into my intended Event. So I tried turning Auto Upload off, importing photos, placing them into their proper Event, turning Auto Upload back on, and then dragging them to Photo Stream to upload them.
First, it seems like there should be an easier way. But also unfortunately, even though Help in iPhoto 11 (9.2) seems to say this should work (see below), my photos end up in my MacBook's Photo Stream folder, but not in the Event (with Automatic Import turned on on my MacBook). This is what is written in the Help documentation -
Note:  If iPhoto automatically imports a Photo Stream photo that was originally uploaded from a different iPhoto library, or from an Aperture library, iPhoto adds the photo to the Event that matches the one in the original library. If a matching Event isn’t in the destination library, iPhoto creates a new Event with the same name.
I wasn't able to find the photos anywhere in my MacBook Events. As indicated in the note above, they should have been automatically placed in a matching Event of the iMac's library. Any help is much appreciated.

Ever since I went to the cloud all of my new photos have show up in photo stream. I had hoped it would sync and update the events in Photos, no luck. I also uploaded a numbers document to iWork and and could only access it through Safari. The only option I had to actually open it on my iPad was 'open in iBooks'. Really! There's been other occasions of rocky starts so I hope iCloud improves. It has too.
