Photo Stream on iCloud not working

Hi,
Here's the facts...please help.
1. iPhone 4S just backed up to iCloud...took 3 hours.
2. All settings are in "ON" position for: Photo Stream and iCloud between all my devices, including "automatic uploads"
3. NOTHING shows up in Photo stream...on any devices (iPad 3, and iPhone 4S)
4. iPhone 4S shows 2.2GB backed up on iCloud
5. iPad 3 shows 64.1MB backed up.
6. Attempted to back up iPad 3 numerous times, via WiFi...which I'm always on...it took 30 sec...nothing transfered.
To put it lightly...I'M ******.  I've been trying to get my photos and videos from my iPhone 4S onto my iPad 3 and it's failing miserabally every stinking time.  Here my words when I say EVERYTHING is in the "ON" position for iCloud file transfers between my iOS devices.  The only thing I haven't tried is putting in my Apple email ID for the sharing option.  By my estimation that should be irrelevent.  I'm going to sleep on this now, cause I'm on the brink of stress, and I don't want that.  Hopefully I wake up tomorrow with some help.  Thanks.

Yeah...after reading numerous threads I discovered this disturbing solution.  It's beyond me as to why settings have to be "reset" in order to work properly.  As I've stated in another thread....my iPhone and iPad have had iCloud device sharing set to "ON" since the day I walked out of the Apple store with my product.  Completely unacceptable on Apple's behalf.  If it's "ON" it should work...no questions asked.
Thanks for the response.

Why can't I get photo stream or icloud to work with windows vista?

Have you tried quitting Pages completely, restart the iPad and then go back to Pages and see if they will upload?
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Photo Stream automatic import not working

I previously just had an iPhone and iMac. When I added photos to either device, they uploaded to iCloud and appeared on both. When I did this from my iPhone to my iMac, it worked fine, and my iMac automatically imported the photos from my Photo Stream to my library.
I just got the new MacBook Air. I transferred my iPhoto Library through Finder. Everything works fine. When I add a photo from my iPhone to Photo Stream, it appears on the Photo Stream on both of my Macs and both automatically import it. However, if I add a photo to either of my Macs, the other Mac does not automatically import it, and instead, I need to manually import it each time.
How can I fix this so my Macs automatically import the photos? I have the appropriate settings enabled.
To clarify, the photos appear in the "Photo Stream" section correctly, they just do not import to my library automatically, and I need to manually import them.

    Give this a try:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
    Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto, reset all of its preferences and try again.
NOTE 1: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

  • Photo streaming screen saver not working after ATV update

I was using a shared photo streaming album as a screen saver prior to the update. Now, with all options on, it only shows one generic "photo stream" option with zero photos in the file. I have a total of five photo stream ablbus that used to appear as choices.
    Any ideas?

Thanks to Apple Care, problem solved. I'm one of those people that have two user names and passwords with Apple. When Mobile Me closed, my ICloud username became the old Mobile Me username. I also have my ITunes username and password.
So, to load content from ITunes, I have to be logged in as that user, but to access my Photo Stream, I have to be logged in as my ICloud user.

    Try this now.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Photo Stream (via iCloud) is no longer working on PC -- w/o system changes

Photo Stream (via iCloud) worked great on my Windows PC a week ago.  Suddenly it's stopped entirely.  When I attempt to open it, I get an error message that says that "Photo Stream is not enabled" and that I should go to the iCloud Control Panel.  When I go to the Control Panel to initiate the change, I can put a check mark in the box to activate it, but it will not retain the change when I hit apply/save.  It also disables Windows Explorer when I do this.
I don't believe this is an IOS6 issue since it was working fine for a period of time after I put IOS6 on both my iPhone and iPad devices.  I've also not made any changes to the Windows laptop involved.
Is anyone else having this problem.  Any suggestions on how to resolve it?

After upgrading to iOS 8.1, upgrading to the latest iTunes and re-installing iCloud for Windows, Photo Stream is working again!

My photo stream is no longer working.  Both my icloud settings in my phone under "photos" as well as my pc icloud pictures are all set to "on" and pics are no longer uploading to photostream. What's up?

I experienced this problem recently but was able to solve it by signing out of, then back into Photo Stream on the computer. This will temporarily remove your photos, but once you get signed back in, it will repopulate the photos. Be sure you have updated to the latest version as well.

Is there a way to stream  "older" photos to my PC that were stored on my Iphone before I implemented "Photo Stream?  NOTE:  My Photo Stream "pushing" function is working, but I can only push "new" photos to my PC.

It might not be streaming but have you considered copying the photos directly off the iphone onto your PC?  I plug my phone in via the USB cable like usual and in Windows Explorer, navigate to Computer\Apple iPhone\Internal Storage\DCIM\860xxxx  and there they are. Copy & paste and you have pictures.

  • Can't share photos using shared Photo Stream with iCloud Control Panel for Windows

BACKSTORY: My friend took pictures of my family. I want to see the pictures he took. We live about 2.5 hours apart by car. Gas prices are too high for me to just drive down with an external hard drive to get the pictures and I might as well throw my money out the window if I were to ship him a hard drive and he ship it back. SO. I ask him if he would share photos with me and he quickly agreed. He added me to a Photo Stream  he has. ok cool. I recieve the invitation email just fine but this is the error I get when I click on the link:
    ERROR MESSAGE:
    Photo Stream
Follow these steps to join a shared photo stream
1.Make sure you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 6 or a Mac running OS X 10.8.2 withiPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later installed.
    2. Sign in to iCloud on your devices.
    3. Open the invitation email on an updated device and tap the Join this Photo Stream button.
    WHAT I NEED:
How can I view shared photo streams using iCloud Windows control panel 2.1.2.0? How can I work around this error message? I don't own any of these products that apple wants me to own in order to view these photos! I don't have the cash to go out and purchase them. What can I do to get "my" photos? Do I have to be signed into my friends apple id to see the shared photos?
    What I've tried:
I already have the icloud control panel installed and updated to the latest version.
I'm signed into iCloud on the control panel. (no apple id password issues)
    I have photo stream checked.
I have my photo stream checked
I have shared photo stream checked.
I have tried copying and pasting the link into the address bars of Safari for Windows, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer,  and Firefox respectively and pressing enter to load. all present the same error message.
I visited iCloud.com to see if there was anywhere to access the shared photo stream there... No option exisits
Checked my photo stream folder in windows explorer. it's completely empty. I haven't put any of my own photos there so nothings missing per se... I just can't see my friends shared photos.
    MY SET UP:
    Windows 7 64bit Home Premium
    4gb of RAM
    iCloud control panel version 2.1.2.0
I don't own any version of Outlook, (if that matters. I doubt that it matters at all in this case.)
I don't have any iOS Devices or a mac capable of 10.8. My MacBook is stuck at 10.6.8. It's a late mid 2008 just before the aluminum unibody computers came out. If I had only waited another month... sigh. Murphy's Law is alive and well.
any sugestions, especially correct answers, are welcome. please help me figure this out. Thanks in advance.

    Hello desert_dweller5,
It sounds like you art trying to access a Shared Photo Stream, but you do not have one of the devices to enable your Apple ID as an iCloud account.  The following article provides information on how Shared Photo Streams work:
    iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486
The article states that for privately Shared Photo Streams to work, the recipient will not only have to have an Apple ID, but it will have to be an iCloud account:
Friends and family with iCloud accounts can view your photos in the Photos app on any device using iOS 6 or later; on a Mac in iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later; on a Windows PC with Windows Vista or later and iCloud Control Panel 2.0 or later installed; or on a second generation or later Apple TV with software version 5.1 or later installed. They can also view your photos on the web if you enable Public Website in the settings or options for your Shared Photo Stream.
Since you do not have an iCloud account and just and Apple ID, your friend can share the photo stream as a public website so that you can view it, as stated in the same article:
Can I share with people who don't have an iCloud account?
Yes. If you enable Public Website in the settings or options for your shared photo stream your photos will be published to a website that anyone can view in an up-to-date web browser.
To be able to change an Apple ID to an iCloud account, you would need an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later or a Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.4 or later as stated in the following article:

  • ICloud not working with contacts and says I need to re-install.

    Hi
On my PC, i've downladed the iCloud control panel my photo stream and my bookmarks work fine but when I click on contacts, calendars an error pops up and says iCloud is not installed properly. Ive logged out then uninstalled and reinstalled again(a few times) but I get the same problem. It worked before but not anymore.
Im sstrying to get it to work with Outlook 2010.
Any ideas how to fix this?

    Hi,
My son has Lion installed and I misunderstood what he told me about the download.  (I had presumed it saved the download as a .dmg that you could reuse)
Reinstalling in Snow Leopard or Lion should not delete any of your personal stuff but it is always wise to have a Backup.

  • Cannot get photo stream on iCloud via iPad (viewing on Windows PC)

Here's the problem. I have activated Photo Stream on my iPad/iCloud service.  When I sign into iCloud on my Windows PC, I do not see a Photo Stream icon.  I do not know where my photos are.  There is no where on iCloud to go find them (I just see icons for mail, calendar, etc.).
Also, We have one home PC (windows).  My husband has an iPhone, I have an iPad.  He set up Photo Stream and iCloud on his iPhone and he was able to locate his photos.  He doesn't recall where they went on our PC, but he did a search for the folder and then moved the folder to c:\users\owner\My Pictures\My Photo Stream.
What I'm thinking is that he has taken up the logical default location for the Photostream photos with his iPhone and now I'm trying to locate my Photo Stream photos that came from my iPad.
I 'thought' that I would just be able to sign into iCloud and then see all my photos and I could choose to download, etc.  But that doesn't seem to be the way it works.  Any advice?
    Thanks
