I want to make a shared photostream but i am missing the share photostream checkbox in the preferences window.
Can anyone help me whit this problem?

Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store -
I am unable to delete certain photo albums or individual photos in it as shown below in my iphone, ... Can anyone help me on this???
Did you sync those photos from iPhoto or and photo program, you would need to delete them on your computer then connect your iPhone and sync.

just completed the upgrade to os x Yosemite on my MacBook 5,4 only to find that iPhoto will not open. It came up with a message that I go to the app store and upgrade to the latest version of iPhoto , however the App Store also refuses to open. I would really appreciate any help. Thank you

This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
Should I contact apple directly?

DId you make sure you checked that the contacts box is checked marked to sinc? when you go into Itunes click your phone then next to summery there should be a tab called info click that and make sure your contacts is marked then click apply

I have tracks missing of the album I purchased. Can anyone help?
I purchased the Skyrim soundtrack yesterday and listened to it fully. Today I connected my Ipod to my laptop to charge and so the soundtrack is on my laptop aswell as my Ipod. But now, both my Library and my Ipod say I have only purchased 18 of the 53 tracks off the album. Does anyone know what I can do, because I can't re-downlaod the album without buying it again for some reason?

I believe in most places you should be able to redownload your past music purchases on demand, but they will only show in iTunes Store > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer if they are not already in your library, whereas you say they downloaded and played successfully at least once.
Perhaps something has gone wrong with the index of the main Music playlist. Download the current iTunes Free Single of the Week. I know it sounds odd, but it should fix the problem. (Probably adding anything would do.)
If that doesn't work close iTunes and delete the hidden file sentinel from inside the main iTunes folder, then start iTunes again. It should run a consistency check when it starts up which may resolve the listings to show the entire album again.
Failing that use the "Report a problem" links in your account history to get in touch with the iTunes Store support team.

I have approx 600 photos on my iPad which had previously been synced from a pc I no longer have. I want to get these photos onto my new laptop and remove them from my iPad. Can anyone help please? Thanks
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app on your iPad such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they were on your original computer.
In terms of then deleting them from your iPad, if you connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and select an empty photo folder on the Photos tab in iTunes and then sync it, that should remove those photos from your iPad.

Can anyone help me. I have iPhoto 9.2 and Mac OS X 10.7.2.
Every time I open iPhoto 9.2 and try to go to photo stream iPhoto quits unexpectedly. When I reopen I get "iPhoto has detected inconsistencies in your library. Please click Repair to avoid any potential problems."
I have read plenty of the posts on the subject and it seems that deleting the "3ivx" fixed the problem. I looked at the detaied reports and see where it says "
Library/Application Support/3ivx" etc..
On my report it says "/Library/Application Support/iLifeMediaBrowser/*/iLMBiPhoto8Plugin". Does this help with an answer?I am also having this crashing problem. I am running lion on a 2010 mac mini. My iPhoto library is kept on an external drive. I just upgraded to iPhoto 11 and everytime I try to enable photo stream the app crashes. Hw do I transfer photos from photo stream to a different file in iphoto so I can clear up space in icloud?
Photo stream photos don't use your personal iCloud account storage so deleting or moving them will not free up any space in your account.
That said, if you still want to move them from photo stream in iPhoto, import them to your library by control-clicking on the photo and choosing Import. You can set iPhoto to automatically import photo stream photos to your library by going to iPhoto>Preferneces>iCloud and checking Automatic Import: -
I have just installed iPhoto 11 and all of photos on my iphone have now all disappeared and ended up in my photo stream and the library in iphoto does not display all my pictures?? Can anyone help?

Is this iPhoto on your Mac? Are you referring to the photos that were in your iPhoto LIbrary prior to the upgrade to iPhoto 11? If so then apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If that's not what you're referring to then you should describe what is happening in more detail. Remember we can't see your Mac or your iPhone so need detailed and accurate descriptions of what you're experiencing.
Also we need infomartion like do you have an iCloud account and are you logged into it on all of your devices, iPhoto and Mac? do you have Photo Stream enabled on both.

When I open up iphoto and click on the events tab then double click on an event, it used to show minis of all the photos in that event. Now it shows only one photo at a time. How do I get it back? Can you help?
On the bottom bar of the window (on the left iPhoto 11, on the right in other versions) note the slider. Drag it left.

I tried to sync my Macbook Pro photos in iPhoto with my iPod Touch. I have done this numerous times, but today I got an error message saying the required file cannot be found. At the same time all of my photos on my iPod vanished. Can anyone help me?

in Iphoto i dragged a group of photos into a folder on the desktop, they went in as thumbnails and i don't know how i did that. can anyone help me do that again
Don't you mean Photos or are you still using iPhoto with 10.10.3?
Normally one gets the preview version of a photo or the edited version if it's been edited when dragging from a thumbnail to the Desktop. Don't know how you would have gotten small thumbnail versions. -
I have an iPhone 4S running software 5.1 (9B179) and cannot sync the photos in PhotoStream with iPhoto '11 v 9.2.1 (628). There's no option to update iPhoto and no option of PhotoStream (which is enabled on my phone). Can anyone help?

The "link related" and "text related" crashes were what I interpretted here, too, though I'm at a loss on how to proceed given that this is a fresh system and applications. This is happening with multiple InDesign projects in a design office environment where many others work on the same files and none of the other computers are having problems with these files. I've removed the same files listed (thank you for those) before and did so effectively with creating the new user account to test with, but it had no effect. I just tried again though, as these files could easily have becone corrupt again if they were being written to when InDesign crashed. Will let you know if that makes any difference. I've also gone through and completely cleaned out the fonts again and once more cleared the font caches. If need be I'll reboot this system into safe mode and try that way.
