Photo Stream uploading copies to PC

I have both an iPad and iPhone 5 using Photo Stream. I have them both connected to iCloud on my Windows 7 PC. Every once in a while photos don't automatically upload to my computer when I take photos on either devices. So what I do is simply sign out and sign back in on iCloud for my PC and I can see it start uploading all the pictures into the Photo Stream folder. But when I do this, it reuploads most, but not all, photos that have already been previously synced to my computer. This is not a major problem, it just becomes annoying when I have to start deleting copies of pictures everytime I do this.
I believe the problem can be fixed if I didn't have to keep on signing in/out every week or so. Anyone have a solution to this?

I completely disabled my firewall and I currently do not use any antivirus software. I took make pictures of the weekend and just today checked to see if it has been synching to my computer and it hasn't. So I did my usual sign out/in on iCloud and the same thing happened. I had to delete about 60+ copies from my Photo Stream folder. Any other ideas?

  • TS3989 Photo stream upload issues

I have had battery issues with my iphone 4s and as a result took it to genious bar. My iphone was wiped and resotred as a new device.
my phone was restored from icloud where i had approx 200 photos in photo stream. however only 9 photos from my photo stream uploaded back onto my iphone.
can anyone assist on how to retrieve these photograph.
    thanks

You will have to Pardon my ignorance. I am a relative beginner to this.
The staff member at the genius bar checked my phone and he said the photograph that where on my photo stream prior to doing the restore would automatically upload on to my iPhone when I restore my settings from iCloud. However only 9 photos done this and there other 100 odd photos didn't.
    I am confused!

Set up the same iCloud account in Settings>iCloud, then turn photo stream to On.

  • Stop photo streaming uploading when I use some WIFI Hot Spot?

    Hi!
Is it possible to stop photo streaming uploading when I use some WIFI Hot Spot?
I use tethering from other 3G connection a lot, so i'm consuming a lot of Mb!

I missed you in iChat yesterday as I was posting this to let you know.
It is mostly as the Page 7 stuff is but laid out in a form that can be used without tables or extra div sections of HTML.
As I am sure there are newer things that we have missed such as

and other VJ type apps that might warrant some sort of mention.
Anyhow it might flush out some some more anyway.
I still feel that the credit for this lies with you.
I am going to leave it for a while to see what comes up here and in the other forums of items that might need a mention.

  • Photo stream upload problem

I have tried this in iPhoto and Aperture, but my photo stream is not uploaded. All the photos are visible in WEB/Photostream, but they don't appear on my iOS devices.
And when I want to make these photos public in Aperture, to make them visible for anyone, the √ vanishes a second after I hit the checkbox.
Flickr stream pix do not show up either although the account looks OK.
Looks as if something was blocking Aperture's traffic, but I have nothing of that kind installed. In System Settings, Photo Stream is enabled, of course.
Thanks a lot for a good idea!
    Peter

I understand that.  The problem is that the photos stay put on Photo Stream on the iPhone after being removed from Photo Stream in iPhoto.  Once a photo reaches it's "due date" it should be removed from iCloud and subsequently from all synchronised devices.  This does not happen, it is removed from some but not others.  Right now I have 243 photos on iPhoto Stream and 271 in iPhone stream.  How come?

  • Photo Stream upload rarely works

Most often than not, my photos that I place in my Upload folder rairly uplads to my devices.  I have tried numerous times the following:
Signed in and out of iCloud Control Panel
    Reintalled iCloud Control Panel
    Rebooted PC
    Rebooted Modem/Router
Turned on and off PhotoStream in iOS
Delted and added just 1 picture to upload folder
Other data uploads fine to iCloud (calendar, contacts, etc)  Just not photos.
This is very frustrating.  It has been like this since they added this feature to iOS.  Not sure what else to do.  Some times it works and other times it doesn't.  Running Windows 7.

    Hi...
Yes, photos deleted from your upload folder on the PC are not deleted from your Photo Stream.

  • Photo Stream Upload - Bypass iPhoto & Aperture

It's easy to get photos from a device to the computer, Photo Stream handles that automatically, but...
Long story short, I just want to be able to drop any image from my computer to my Photo Stream via a sync folder. Simple no?
I can use Aperture or iPhoto to add photos to Photo Stream, but Aperture feels bloated and slow, I'd rather just be able to add an image to a Photo Stream folder and have it be automatically added to my Photo Stream.
I have found something close in this article, which allows you to easily search & pull photos from Photo Stream, but I still haven't found out how to simply add them, so they go to my iOS devices too, without iPho
    http://bit.ly/KpIjzP
I tried making an additional folder in the Photo Stream folder and adding images there, but it's not working.
    Anyone have a solution here?
    Thanks!
    Using OS Mavericks 10.9

Can't be done.  One needs iPhoto or Aperture to connect with the iCloude servers and upload photos to them.
If you want to add photos to your iPhone without going thru iPhoto do the following:
1 - put them in a folder on your hard drive
2 - connect the iPhone to the Mac.
    3 - launch iTunes.
4 - click on your iPhone under Devices.
    5 - click on Photos.
6 - check Sync Photos From and select Choose folder....
7 - navigate to the folder with the image files you want to put on your iPhone and select it.
8 - sync with your iPhone.
You're gateway to the iPhone is iTunes.

  • Only last 30 photos streaming uploaded to my PC

    Hi all,
I've downloaded iCloud for PC hoping to have all the photos since my first iphone (like 2 years ago).
Instead, I find, that my iCloud in my PC has only uploaded the last 30 photos. Why that? what happens with the rest?
    Thank you for your help!

You cannot access Photo Stream from iCloud.com.
Photo Stream is a sync tool, not a backup solution.
You can get the last 30 days of photos from your Photo Stream by installing and signing into iCloud Contol Panel.
To get your Whatsapp and Camera Roll data you will need to restore it from your backup to another iOS device.

  • Photo Stream Uploading my Entire Library

Just installed Aperture looked around and before I knew what was going on Aperture went on its merry business trying to upload over 40 GB worth of pictures (many not even recent). I caught it after only a few HUNDRED images were clogged up in my photo stream.
Even if I disable automatic upload it still seems to want to finish the upload of the whole library it started, how do I fix this?
How do I get all these pictures from the early 2000s that were on my Mac out of my photo stream?

Photo Stream can only hold 1000 most recently added pictures, so it will not upload your whole library, unless these are less than 1000 images.
Even if I disable automatic upload it still seems to want to finish the upload of the whole library it started, how do I fix this?
This is unusual - disabling automatic upload should stop it. Try to open the "Activity" Viewer -
         Window -> Show Activity
Here you can delete pending processes.
How do I get all these pictures from the early 2000s that were on my Mac out of my photo stream?
They will vanish on their own, after adding further 1000 images
You can delete them from the Photo Stream by selecting the "Photos Stream" in Aperture, then selecting the images you added, ctrl-click the selection and choose "Delete from Photo Stream" from the pop-up menu.
If you sync other devices with Photo Stream you may need to repeat this procedure on the other devices.
    Regards

  • Can't cancel photo stream upload activity

I recently moved to Aperture and imported all my photos (27,000 of them).  I then realised that with the default settings all these images were being uploaded to photo stream and then continually deleted from photo stream when it hit the 1000 max.  Rather pointless and a large use of bandwidth.  I have now turned off the "Automatic upload" preference:
but I still have a problem because the activity is still trying to complete.
I can see the Photo Stream Activity in the Activity window and can Pause it no problem.
But I can't cancel it!  Clicking the Cancel Task button does nothing.
And if I restart Aperture the activity starts again automatically.
How can I cancel this activity?

Try my app, it closes photostream until you re-open iPhoto

  • Shared Photo Streams - uploads from multiple users?

    Hi all,
Quick question regarding the new Shared Photo Stream feature in iOS 6 and OS X 10.8.2 on iPhoto. You can invite others to be a part of your shared Photo Stream, but if this just so they can view the photos you put in there? I was wondering if others could add their photos in there too, or would they need to set up their own Shared Photo Stream? I'm fairly sure this isn't possible yet but just wanted to check.
    Thanks in advance!

They can only comment on your photos, they can't add to them.  They would have to set up their own shared photo stream.

  • Photo stream upload - even when disabled.

I am having an interesting problem - my photos are uploaded to photostream even though I have disabled the option to do so. Also, I cannot cancel this task, only pause it.
Does anyone have any insight as to why this would be the case?

Try this app I made, simple and it works!

  • Photo Stream upload- extremely slow

I have over 7000 photos and was fast till today… now upload 30 photos took me 20 minutes. What’s wrong? thanks.

    now it's normal. sorry

  • How to stop photo stream uploading/downloading in the background

Does anyone know how to stop the iphoto upload/download as my broadband gets killed everytime I add photos to my mac.
Let me explain that I have a 6-8 MB down link but my uplink is only 0.2Mb really slow.  So when I quit iphoto I can't play any online games for ages as Photostream is taking up my complete band width.  Mainly due to the fact that it is also downloading the photos to my iPad and my wifes iPhone I just imported the photos off those two devices but photostream wants to put a second copy on the device. argh
please give me better control I want to upload the photos (shared library) to photostream but only when the iPhoto app is open so I have the choice of when my bandwidth is used. either that or make the upload only happen with the device is switch off / not used so if I open a network game the bandwidth is freed until the game is closed.
    thanks
