Photo Stream will not enable on my Mac

Photo Stream is working fine between my two iPhones but has recently stopped syncing with my Mac. (It worked OK up until recently.) I checked if iPhoto Photo Stream is enabled on my Mac in Preferences, but when I check the "Enable Photo Steam" box, it flashes up saying "Enabling Photo Stream" but then comes back to the preferences screen with none of the three boxes checked. I repeated this a couple of times with the same result.
I'm running iPhoto 11 ver. 9.2.3. I have rebooted with the same result. Any advice?

My problem is not fixed, but it has gone away??? I tried to enable Photo Stream in iPhoto this evening and it worked first time. WT...

  • Photo Stream will not Enable

    Hello All
I am using the latest version of iPhoto and the latest OS X version.
I click on Photo Stream in the left column under WEB and I have the dfault Photo Strem page, as if I never used Photo Strem before, even though I have used it before. I click the Turn On Photo Stream button. The Enabling Photo Strem... progress window slides down at the top of iPhoto for a few second to a few minutes, then goes away. I am then back to the default Photo Strem window.
I then click the No Thanks button. Photo Stream disappears from the left column.
I went into iPhoto Preferences and attempted to enable Photo Stream. I get the message "iPhoto was unable to connect to Photo Stream."
    Any ideas?
Thank you, in advance, for your time.
    Cooch

Do you have iPhoto's PS preferences enabled?
If you do and it's still not working disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
    Reboot and reenable both respectively.

  • Photo stream is not enabled

    Problem:
My photo stream on my PC is not uploading photos from my iPad and iPod.
I get the message "Photo Stream is not enabled. Sign into iCloud to view Photo Stream"
When i go to iCloud in Control Panel, I am signed into iCloud on my PC (with Windows 7).
When i click on Photo Stream, and click on Options, I am not given any choices with the Options, even after  i click Apply.
My iCloud Photo Stream was working a month ago!
    Help!

First make sure iCloud and Photo Stream are installed on your PC. Connect the iPad (or iPhone) to your PC with the USB cable and start iTunes on your PC. Once your iPad/iPhone shows up under "Devices" in the sidebar (which you may have to enable), click it. Then click "Photos" at the top of the iTunes screen on your PC. Check the "Sync Photos from" box, and then under that, click "Selected folders." (Ignore the pulldown menu to the right of "Sync Photos from" -- the important thing is to tick "Selected folders.")  A pane should open up below that with a list of folders including "Photo Stream." Choose that and then at the bottom of the screen click Sync. This worked for my Windows 7 box.

  • I can't access my photo stream on my PC - it comes up with Photo Stream is not enabled

    - it comes up with Photo Stream is not enabled

This is a known bug which should be fixed in a future software update.
Press the Home button to exit the Photos app.  Double tap the home button to open the recent apps bar.  Press and hold the Photos icon until it wiggles.  Press the red x to close it.  Press the Home button again to exit the edit mode and try the Photos app again.

  • Photo stream will not transfer photos from mac to iphone

I downloaded the new iOS8 software for me iPhone, and now my photo stream isn't working.  It sends the pictures i take on my phone to the mac, but won't send the pictures from the mac to the iPhone. I take a lot of pictures on a camera and need them streamed to my iPhone from my mac. Is there any way to fix this?? Is it because I updated my phone? My Macbook is from 2012, and i have an iPhone 5 if that matters

  • Photo stream will not work in Aperture

I have photo stream and sharing set up on iCloud and when signed in Aperture keeps asking me to sign in when I check the box to set up Photos stream.
There is an obvious logic error as the message to sign in on iCloud will not go away even though I am signed in and it is impossbile to do anythign else... or get that message to go away (other than cancelling it).
What a joke iCloud is anyway but in Aperture it's totally non-functional for me...
I'm updated the the vey latest verison of Aperture 4.

For some posters it helped to
    reboot
log into a new user account and to sign into iCloud from this account
and to enable Photo Stream in Aperture from this account. Import some images, then sign out of Photo stream again and log off.
Log into your regular account, and try if you now can enable Photo Stream in Aperture.
    Regards
    Léonie
Added: Just in case the above does not help: Your Photo Stream is stored in your User Library:
    ~/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/
Check, if the permissions for your user Library need repairing, and set them to give you Read+Write access, if necessary.
If all fails, copy any images you find in this folder to a backup folder to save the image files and delete the folder.

  • My photo stream will not populate on my pc but the shared albums do

My photo stream (pc) will not populate.  The shared albums (in the same iCloud Photos folder) populate with no problem.  What's the fix?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
When you plug your device in by USB to your computer, you should only expect to be able to import photos from the camera roll.
Photos from the photo stream album will only sync when photo stream is properly set up within iPhoto, you don't need to use a USB cable for this to happen.
Check that iPhoto is up to date and that photo stream is enabled in the iCloud settings and the iPhoto preferences.

  • Photo Stream will not work in iPhoto

I have read tons of posts on this. I have a brand spanking new macbook pro. I migrated all my data from a time capsule backup. Admittedly, Photostream wasn't working on my old macbook (white macbook) but it was running so slow, that even troubleshooting the issue was difficult. I have reset icloud, done the whole, rebuilding of the library... nothing works. I have all the latest updates and ios 5 on my iphone 4. I am running a 13: i5 dual core MBpro late 2011. Please help!! Photostream worked in the original iphoto 11 upgrade with lion... the last update ( I think 9.2 and subsequently, 9.2.1....) has not worked... I was even given a hack to go into the package contents and change a photostream.db file but was still unable to fix.... please any help would be appreciated...

Thanks Lani.... nothing but problems since Icloud... and LION!!! Snow Leopard, no issues - I'm also having "heap zone" errors in imoivie.
Try this - I am going to try tonight. When I log in as a guest... photostream works - with my apple id and everything which leads me to believe it's a corrupt library file. A corrupt iphoto library would only corrupt those photos - not functionality of the icloud service, so I don't think my iphoto library is the problem. I was with a "Genius" for 2 hours and they couldn't figure it out and then tried to blame me and said the problem was with my data which is crap.... I bought a huge lion book and have dons tons of research and here's the only logical conclusion I can draw - I'll post if it works but here's the idea:
Backup all your data. I have a time capsule, so if you have one, that's going to make this a lot easier.
I am going to make a flash drive of Lion (if you don't know how to do this, there's an app that helps you do it and lots of explanations you can find on how to do this. Don't do the install from recovery partition. Literally obliterate the whole thing... I tried the install from recovery and wasnt a fit for our problem.
I am going to do a clean install, and drag and drop all my apps, docs, music, movies, pics etc... manually - I will not restore the time machine backup. I am going to check the iphoto library package contents to make sure there are no files that relate to my home folder (which is the problem apparently...) and I am going to rename my home folder and put everything in fresh. I believe this will work.... but then there';s the UBD process from Lion which is for "mobile apps" and icloud that keeps LOGGING my keychain and taking tons of CPU usage - like 100% all the time. I have to delete the login.keychain and it goes away for a while if I turn icloud completely off... this all annoys me becayse I have a brand new iphone, brand new Time Capsule, macbook pro and apple tv --- there is NO reason I should be having all these issues. I love Mac... but only when it "works..." and it hasn't been working in a long time....
Does anyone have thoughts on this idea??
    Thanks!
    Steve

  • HT201077 If you are seeing the message "Photo Stream is not enabled. Sign into iCloud to view Photo Stream," and you have already signed in, apply your settings to enable Photo Stream.

I have done everything that the Apple manual suggets to insure that I can transfer photos from my IPHONE to my Windows Desktop via ICLOUD. For some reason it still says that my ICLOUD (on my desktop) is not enabled!
    Can anyone help...please!
    Thank you!

I have photo stream on my phone and ipad.    2 problems are calendar does not update to phone and photo stream cannot connect with computer.   I keep checking it in the system preferences and it doesn't connect and unchecks itself.

    So frustrating!

Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane on your Mac:
