Photo Synch Crashes iTunes

Basically, everything is working fine except when I try to synch photos to my iPod nano, iTunes simply freezes up, making me end the task manually. I've tried synching photos from a different partition. I think it's creating the photo files, it's just not copying them over. If someone could tell me the path (hidden?) where the photos go, that'd be great. This all started happening after I got this SATA drive and old software/firmware doesn't work. Thanks!

I figured out a somewhat shoddy way to get past this. I simply disabled disk use and iTunes asked me to point to the new photo directory. In my situation, this is okay because I didn't use my iPod as my primary flash drive. However, for people who had the problem like me, this worked.

Not all photos synching to itunes

I have set iTunes to synch with my iPhoto library, all photos and settings (all 1768 of them). However, only a portion of the albums sync, and only some photos within those albums. All used to sync; however, I moved this library to the shared user so my wife could access them from her account and that is when the problem started. When I moved the library back to my area, I continued to get only partial synching. Any suggestions for fixes or settings?

Still no success.
My problem, in part, is that I have 2 iphones. I transferred one to another computer that now syncs with iCloud. The other phone I was updating today on my old computer. It was recognised by iTunes, and automatically synched. Then I updated it to a newer version of iTunes, and lost my contacts on that iPhone. I have trawled to Windows Contacts but to no avail.

Photo synch Problem

I' ve got a problem with photo synch via iTunes. Everytime I try to synch the photos( doesnt matter if try it with 1000 or just 10 photos), iTunes stopps at the first photo and tells me after a few minutes, that the synchronisation has been aborted. Everything works with iTunes, except the photo-synch. I tried to delete iPod cache, delete iTunes and so on. Same problem with iPad 3! iOS is 6.0 on the iPhone 4s and 5.1. on the iPad3.
Can anybody help me, please?

And wouldn't you know it, minutes after I posted the question, I stumbled across my own answer, though I don't fully understand why it worked. Just for the heck of it, I checked "include videos" when synching iPhoto. This time, I got an error message from iTunes that some of my iPhoto videos were not supported by my iPhone 5. Then I turned video synching back off, then re-synched, and the remaining photos synched! Were I to speculate, the videos were somehow corrupting the iPod Photo Cache (even though I had never turned it on), causing all subsequent photos not to synch. At any rate, it's fixed, and perhaps someone else with the same issue has a hint on how to proceed. Thanks for reading!

HT1386 I have double and triples of photo's on my iPad. Not all my pics but most of them. I was told that I screwed up in synching with iTunes when I initally set up. How in the **** do I get rid of all the dups? I cannot delete them from my iPad. HELP ME

If the shows are in fact still on the pad, they will be found in the videos app, not the music or I tunes app. Look there and see if they are still there.
If you don't see them there, go to the searchlight screen ( farthest left home page) and type in the name of one of the shows. If it is on the pad, hiding somewhere, this will find it.
If they are not there, they should not be using up space.
To get them back onto your pad, plug in and sync again. Make sure you transfer purchases first. Before you sync, take a look at the video tab in your I tunes, and check what you want and don't want synced.

Photo.app crashes. Can not delete or sync photos. Stuck!

On my iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.1:
Photo.app crashes whenever i try to delete certain photos from my camera roll. It freezes and I have to exit the app with the front botton. I have the crash logs on my computer.
The iPhone appears in iTunes, however photos do not sync.
The iPhone does NOT appear in Image Capture, iPhoto, or other photo importing programs.
Now I am really stuck - ! I have no way to delete the (presumably corrupted) photos from my iPhone!
If I "Erase all content and settings" from the iPhone, it once again appears (empty) in Image Capture. However, if I then restore the iPhone from a backup, the photo roll is restored and it has the same problem. If I do not restore the iPhone, I lose all my apps, contact info, etc.
I am an Apple developer (MacOS, iOS) so I have expert skills tackling problems like this, but now I'm stumped!

I had the same problem and spent 4 hours troubleshooting with Apple Tech Support. We uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, drivers and checked every setting that had anything to do with my iPhone. As usual I was told that I need to restore my phone which is always my last option. I actually read your post and began to panic as it became clear that even after a reset I would get the same photos back when I synched and restored. Last time that I restored to new it took me 3 solid hours to tweak my phone back to the way it was. When I realized that I was basically screwed and was going to lose my photos I began to email them to myself one at a time. When I got to one picture I discovered that I had found the corrupt photo. I was not able to send it as it turned into a question mark when I tried to send to myself. I tried to delete 50 times but it froze my phone each time and wouldnt remove itself from my camera roll. I tried to select photos but each time that photo appeared in the window the app crashed and shut itself down. I had scheduled an appointment with the genious bar and figured I would call tech suoport one last time before I went through that nightmare and while I was on hold I pluged my phone into my computere and tried to delete the phote while plugged into my laptop and out of nowhere an error window popped up notifying me that my photo app experienced an error and would repair itself which within four seconds it did and the corrupt photo dissapeared. I cant tell you how relieived I was and my phone works perfectly well now. I tried to explain the results to the tech that finally answered but he didn't seem to care that much. I hope this works for you next time.

My Apple TV (1st Gen) will not synch with iTunes on my Laptop

I've been trying to do this for a while, it shouldn't be too difficult i think.
All i want to do is synch all the content on my laptop with my Apple TV (and vice versa) so all the content including photos and home videos is the same on both my Apple TV and my laptop.
Some points:
There's enough hard drive space on both
I'm using Windows 7 ultimate on my laptop
The correct port exceptions have been added to Windows Firewall
I have purchases on both my laptop and Apple TV from the iTunes store
We're using a wireless network and it while it's possible to get them both cable wired, it would be a pain
Home networking is set up in iTunes on my laptop
I've set up my Apple TV to synch (not stream) with my account on my laptop
Both iTunes and Apple TV are up to date with their downloads
I think that's it - am i missing anything, or should this now just work?

Ipod wont synch with itunes

I 1st installed my ipod onto my laptop but that has since broke and I have tried to install it onto my pc and it wont synch with itunes. I cant get into my music list either. Help pleae thanks

Hi, thank you for the reply, unfortunetly i have tried all the suggestions on that link (and quite a few more).
The message is completely random as to whether its a download from the itunes store or something i have imported or a cd that i have added to my itunes. I have got to a point now where it will synch a certain amount of tracks (or photo's, books, etc) and then just give me an -50 message regardless of what it is i am trying to synch, my 80gb classic has now become a 50mb classic!

Photo synch not working

Lately, can't say if it's been after the last iPod Classic firmware or the last iTunes version, the photo synching is not working properly.
After the first photo synch, everything seems fine but when I connect the iPod to the Mac (or the windows), all the photos are synched again so I have duplicated full resolution photos using twice the disk space.
I've noticed that the disk capacity colour bar has no yellow zone when I reconnect the iPod. It's like iPod or iTunes think that space are just files.

This is incorrect.
The Photos tab is always available when you have your iDevice connected.
First open iPhoto, move the photos you want to get rid of to the trash, then close iPhoto.
No one seems to want to delete the photos from iPhoto/computer.
They just don’t want them to sync to the iPad.

Ipad will not complete synch in itunes

My iPad (4th gen) will not complete synch in iTunes. It just hangs on the last synch step. Using iOS 8.0.2 and iTunes 11.4 on MacBook Pro with OS X 10.9.5. Would appreciate any recommendations.

When I scroll down and view my AppleID (which I was already logged in) it makes me login again, I do and it says I can't access the iTunes store and that I can only do that in the Portugeuse store, then it wants to redirect me to that store.
Apparently someone set up this Apple ID to only work for Portugal, which is driving us crazy. I cam easily create her another AID to work in the US, but I don't know if this will then conflict with her iCloud storage, which is the "portuguese" one (LOL!)
She has numerous devices (2 iPhones, 1 Airbook, 1 iPad) all in a big mess of a jumble. I'm hoping to make these be able to sync contacts, photos, calendar, music, etc.
Her email is gmail so I can use IMAP for that.

Is there a setting in iPad that controls how your scroll/swipe sensitivity to touch is? or is it standard. It seems pretty sensitve (if you accidently touch anything you launch it, etc)

How do I delete the last photos synched from my iMac to my iPad from the iPad? They have taken up all of my storage.

Synced photos can only be deleted by syncing again with iTunes and deselecting all synced items.

IPhone 4 crashes itunes when syncing..

as the title says when i try and sync my brand new iphone 4 it crashes itunes so i cant get any music or anything onto it.

Ok so the deal is, that it is in fact a rogue song/album messing up the sync. To find the error, I was fortunate to have a second Iphone 3G (My Old One).
I synched the songs step by step in Itunes. That is, I unchecked "Sync Entire Library" and went step by step through each artist. To expedite this you can go "All the A's" or "All the B's" whatever works for you. Sit and watch where things go wrong and you get the "Iphones has encountered a problem and needs to close"
I found one album that caused the break. Note, as soon as you locate the problem area that's crashing, uncheck the block of artists you were synching. Begin to synch step by step until you find the problem Album / Artist.
Next, I tried to fix things in a variety of ways. I noticed some file names were long, and this had been causing earlier issues. Convert long song names to AAC, Itunes will make a smaller file name. I did this and was able to continue the synching process. Other times, I'd try this and Itunes would crash just turning a file into AAC. I deleted these files from the library and voila, continued synching.
Really odd issues, hopefully this works for you. please feel free to let me know if you're still having issues.

Can't synch to itunes. Error -39

I was trying to synch to iTunes but iTunes freaked out and locked up. I force quitted iTunes and now my iPad won't synch. It gets unknown error -39.

From other threads, it looks like this is related to photo syncing.

jdsweet: I had this problem (though limited to the photo-syncing portion of the sync cycle) recently with an iPhone, rather than an iPod Video. I fixed it by going into iTunes, selecting the iPhone, selecting the Photos tab, unchecking "Sync photos from [iPhoto]", accepting its request to delete all photos from the phone (figured that my clear out any issues). That took at most a few seconds (w/ 2200+ photos on it).
Then, still on the Photos tab, I re-checked "Sync photos from [iPhoto]". After that I synced (don't remember if I initiated that manually with the Sync button, or if iTunes started it automatically). Took a few minutes to copy over all those pictures, but then it was fine.
Don't know cause for sure. Though around same time I'd undocked just after importing some photos while the "Delete Originals?" prompt was on the screen, i.e. may have corrupted the finishing stage of a photo sync.

Connecting iPhone 4 Crashes iTunes 10 On G4 Powerbook...

Hi everyone - hope someone might be able to shed some light here...
My buddy just got a new iP4 to replace his 3G which got dunked in a cup of coffee. The first hurdle was that his computer (a 12" 1.33Ghz G4 Powerbook) was running Tiger. So we did a fresh install of Leopard (10.5.x), ran all updates, and installed iTunes 10.
iTunes 10 opens and runs just fine. He connected his new phone to the computer and it prompted him if he'd like to restore it from his back-up. He proceeded to run the restore and it seemed like it was starting, but then his phone rebooted and iTunes crashed. The phone restarted and works fine, but no info synced over from the laptop.
Now, whenever he connects his iP4 it crashed iTunes immediately. Also worth noting that iPhoto sees and treats the phone as a camera device and he can access photos but that it.
So....anyone have any ideas???? I've suggested he make a Genius bar appt. but he won't have time to do this until the week after next.

Hi Allen - thanks for replying.
I'm unsure of the specs on his USB ports. He has had an iPhone 3G and used it with no issues for a couple of years. I'm not sure if you meant that USB 1.1 isn't compatible with 10.5 or the iP4 or both.
*Edit - based on what I am seeing online the USB on that machine should be 2.0*
He tried reinstalling iTunes along with deleting some preference files (which we found suggested elsewhere) and that didn't help.
I/We did not repair disk permission after the install. As I did a clean install (i.e. erase & install) followed by running migration assistant I didn't think that would be an issue. I will suggest we try that though just to see.
