Photo syncing between iPad and Lightroom?

iTunes supports Adobe's Photoshop Elements as a source application for photo albums to sync to iPad. I'm thinking of switching from PSE9 to LightRoom 4, and have downloaded a trial copy. I currently sync PSE albums to my iPad2 via iTunes (Windows 7). I don't see any way of doing the equivalent with LR. Does anyone know a way, other than by using another piece of s/w like Photosmith? Is iTunes likely to get support for LR?

Lightroom is a non-desctive photo editing platform (which is a huge step up from PSE by-the-way). Part of this is that you will need to export your photos before you can use your edited photos. After exporting them to a folder, you can have iTunes monitor those folders.
Another app you should consider is Mosaic View is which is better than Photosmith at providing instant automatic access to your Lightroom photos.
Something tells me that with Aperture/iPhoto being a direct competator to Lightroom... automatic Lightroom access is not in the cards nativly in iOS anytime soon.

Pages won't sync between iPad and Macbook

I cannot get my pages to sync between iPad and Macbook.
I regularly go back and forth between the two because it's easier to read/edit on iPad and easier to type/copy-paste web info on Macbook.
I'm finding right now that I have done a multitude of edits on my iPad that are not showing up at all when I open the same document on my Macbook.
I have closed the document on my iPad so I expected there to be no problems when I opened it on my Macbook.
Not sure why or what to do....?

I had this issue too - I have been playing around with it for a few days - turns out you need to save the documents on your mac not under "documents" but rather under "Pages - iCloud" (or "Keynote - iCloud" etc.). After doing this, the document appears on my phone, iPad, iCloud.com etc. with the changes.
One way to do this is by clicking the dropdown arrow (it shows up when you mouse over the title) to the right of the title of your document on the grey title bar (the thing at the top of the page - above insert, table, chart etc.) and then editing the "where" column.

My Pages and Numbers are stopped synchronizing via icloud between ipad and macbook pro. Everytime I edit something to Pages or Numbers on my ipad, my ipad failed to upload the edited version to icloud. what happened?

I have a slightly different problem with Numbers and Pages failing to sync between a Macbook and iPad via iCloud. I have checked all the obvious settings. I think the problem may be that the Macbook username is my email address, whereas the iPad username is my wife's email address. However, both addresses are named alibis for exactly the same email address from our internet provider – eg we get the same emails, despite appearing to have different addresses. So I don't understand why the iPad cannot pick up Numbers or Pages files that have been opened and saved in iCloud on my Macbook. Other apps, such as iCal, sync perfectly, but i guess they don't use iCloud. Any help appreciated!
(We have tried emailing Numbers files to the iPad, but that is very slow and innefective.)

I have my wife's hand me down 1st generation Ipad with 4G and a 4Gs iphone but my calanders do not sync between the phone and the ipad.
My PC has icloud installed and turned on and my ipad and iphone have the cloud turned on.
All three pieces have current software.

If you mean photo stream, go to Settings>iCloud on both devices and sign into iCloud account with the same Apple ID, then turn photo stream to On. After that, new photos added to the camera roll will be uploaded to photo stream when the camera app is closed, it is connected to wifi and has at least 20% battery life remaining. They will appear on your other device in the my photo stream album.

Photo operations between iPad and PC

I'm a PC guy who has just purchased an iPad for travel. Here's what I want to be able to do:
Take pictures with my iPhone or Canon.
Move those pictures to the iPad.
Edit the pictures on the iPad.
Add keywords to the pictures.
After the trip, move the pictures to the PC.
Here's what I've done so far:
Ordered the camera connection kit which should allow me to copy pictures off the camera onto the iPad
Purchased the Photo transfer App which permits me to copy pictures from the iPhone to the iPad and from the iPad to the PC.
Keywords appear to be out of my reach. I know iPhoto supports them, because I found that feature on my wife's Mac. But iPhoto for iPad does not appear to allow you to add, view or search by keywords. Is that correct?
I'm a little concerned about what the iPad is doing to the photo files. Using iTunes, I downloaded several albums from Photoshop Elements onto the iPad and using Photo Transfer, I attempted to send one of these photos back to the PC. I compared the original photo with the photo that made the round trip and found that:
It had been renamed.
The keywords that I had attached to the photo in either Windows 7 or Elements had been stripped from the file but properties like Date Taken were preserved.
The dimensions were preserved (3456 x 2304) but the file had shrunk from 2.52 MB to 1.46 MB. Some of that can be accounted for by the stripping of keywords, but that would represent hundreds of bytes, not over a megabyte. What went missing?
Any ideas on how to apply and/or preserve keywords on the iPad?

The camera connection kit can only be used to import photo/video files form a camera, SD card or USB flash drive. You can't import other types of files. You can't export any type of files using the camera connection kit.
On your Canon camera, you may have to do this to import pics from the camera. Switching from Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) [Some cameras may refer to PTP as Pictbridge or PTP/Pictbridge.] to Mass Storage Device Mode or vise versa on the camera.

Why won't Notes sync between iPad and iPhone?

I own an iPad and iPhone and use MobileMe. My contacts, calendar, mail and iDisk all sync properly but I can't get Notes to work.
On my iPhone Notes, I have the option of selecting the following accounts:
From my PC
MobileMe
My 3 different email addresses
I have placed my notes under both "From my PC" and "MobileMe."
My iPad doesn't even give me the option to select the various accounts in the same way the iPhone does.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I couldn't find any other topics that are having problems similar to mine.

I purchased my ipad at a Apple store and the salesman sold me the mobileme convincing me that everything including Notes would sync in the clouds! I still cant understand why we're paying for something that doesn't yet work. This is unacceptable. I just want my NOTES to seamlessly sync between my iphone, ipad and mobileme just like everybody else. Is this too much to ask or expect? Besides, isnt what thousands of paying mobileme subscribers expect.
I want my NOTES to be identical on all platforms and not have to check my mail accounts. As far as my Notes taken with my Ipad, they don't sync anywhere and spent endless hours trying to figure it out only to find out that the sync feature is not yet available for the Notes on my ipad. Thanks Apple! You succeeded to mislead me and taking my money in advance. How long do we have to wait for this to be resolved? We have the right to get a truthful answer and don't appreciate being fooled.

IMessage not syncing between iPad and iPod Touch (4th gen)

I can't make my iMessage sync the messages I send or receive between my iPad and iPod.
If I send a message on my iPad it does not appear on my iPod and vice versa.
The same thing with receiving messages.

Sharing photo tags between iPad and Windows

We just got a new iPad and we are working out sharing data between our Windows machines and the iPad. From reading the forums, my understanding is that iOS uses tags rather than a folder hierarchy to view subsets of pictures. Is there a common format for tag info? I read a post from 2007 that said there was not a common tag format yet. I'm hoping that in the interventing time something common has emerged.

Right now, I have Verizon DSL that uses a Westell router. It has 4 ethernet ports on the back in addition to the DSL connections. I have a HP Pavilion with Windows XP in the basement, an iMac G3 in my room, and an intel iMac in our living room all connected to the router by ethernet cables. Each computer is able to access the other computer's files. On the intel iMac I have Microsoft Remote Desktop installed so that I can log into the HP in the basement and control it from the iMac. I haven't tried operating this network wirelessly, but I would imagine that it would be possible. One thing that you might want to check is the router's configuration. My router has settings that either allow or block wireless signals. To access my router's settings I type in 192.168.1.1 in Safari or Internet Explorer. Having all 3 computers on the internet at the same time does not slow the speed of the DSL very much.

IMessage not syncing between iPad and iPhone.

My mom got an iPad and she is having trouble with iMessage between her iPad and iPhone. On my iPad when I go to messages settings and it shows how I want to iMessage, it shows my cell phone number first then my email address second. So when anybody iMessages me I get it on both my iPhone and iPad. On my moms iPad in the messages settings it's showing she sends and receives iMessages through her email. Her cell phone number associated with her apple id isnt showing up. When she gets an iMessage its only showing up on her iPhone. Not her iPad. How do I fix this? I honestly don't know how I did mine. I think it did it automatically.

If you go on the iPad and look at Messages in Settings, what do you see in Send & Receive? You might try turning off Messages and then wait a minute and turn it back on. If you log in with the same Apple ID, it should automatically populate the phone number. Then check the phone and see if you can see in Settings>Messages that you have Text Message Forwarding.

Application sync between ipad and Macbook pro

I purchased iWorks a year ago for my ipad and then recently purchased a Macbook Pro. Is the application purchase valid for my laptop or do I need to repurchase the app and install it on my Macbook? Thanks!

Apps that run on your iPad (iOS) cannot run on the Mac OS X and vice versa. Two different operating systems.
So you do need to re purchase the app for your Mac.

The updated Pages App. Documents sync between ipad and iphone, but only open on ipad. When I try to open docs on iphone, a message comes up saying "Cannot open document."

My iPad 2 and my iPhone 4S automatically updated my Pages App, which I used all the time. It did sync all my documents between the two devices but it will not allow me to open docs on iPhone, only on iPad.
That's never happened before. I am just now updating my phone (4S) to iOS 7.0.3. Maybe that will do the trick?

Thanks very much for the instructions. I encountered this problem this morning myself and the recommendation fixed the problem immediately. When things like this happen with iCloud and Pages it makes me wonder if I might be better off using something else, having just recently had to fix the problem that the current Pages can't read documents I created with a much earlier version until they were "upgraded" by an interim version.

Why are my contacts and reminders and photos syncing between me and my boyfriends phone, as well as my macbook air? How do I make this stop? I've already deleted Icloud backups on itunes but that didn't help because we still seem to be synced. Help.

Why are all of my devices syncing with my boyfriends phone? His phones photos are synced to my macbook air photo stream, my reminders are synced to his phone, I already erased all of my itunes backups through itunes thinking that would fix the issue but it failed to resolve the problem. Well in the iPhone and the iPad in the Settings in the iCloud section, there is an Apple ID associated with the device. And in the MacBook Air there is (or can be) an Apple ID associated with the account.
In the iPhone and iPad in the same settings panel you select what gets synced with the cloud.
I'm guessing that your devices and your boyfriend's are set up with the same Apple ID and the switches to sync are set? I'm not an expert but that is what I'd look at first. You need to have a separate Apple ID from your boyfriend or turn syncing off if you don't want that to happen I think.
