Photo Syncing Problems

When i try to sync my photo with itunes everythign goes properly. then i disconect my ipod and there are no directorys for the photos that we just tranfered in the photos section. i tried adding each directory one by one and they showed up fine. when i try to update them all at once they won't show up.
i have tried restoring but still nothing.
please help

Make a specific folder for whatever photos you want on your iPod. Just drag the photos (not the folders) into the folder.
You can costomize what folder to sync photos from in iTunes. Just connect your iPod, click on the iPod icon to the left that appears when you connect, click on the "photos" tab, and sellect the specific folder you want to sync from.

  • Photo sync problem with Windows Vista?

I did some searching and was wondering if there is a solution to the photo sync problem with Windows Vista. I have gone the route of changing some of my photos to bitmap files but this is was way too much work just to view on ipod. I like to email Apple but could not find a link to do so. As far as I know I have all updates but still the iPod does not sync photos. Is there an update to this that I am missing or am I stuck changing all my photos to .bmp files?
    Thanks,
    Dean.

I checked out the article and not much help, thanks anyway.
Would it make a difference if I purchased Adobe Photo Album or would I still be stuck with changing and saving files to .bmp extensions? I have Adobe Photoshop album starter but still have to change file extensions.
If someone has a solution to this problem I would really be greatfull. I did contact Dell as this is a brand new computer and that was a wash. They did give me a number for Apple but of course I bought the iPod off of ebay and has no warranty on it so unless I pay a fee I'm not calling. It just blows my mind that Microsoft and Apple can't or won't come up with a fix. But I guess when Microsoft wants you to buy the Zune or Apple wants you to buy the overpriced Macintosh why would they waste time on having there products compatible with each other.
    Thanks.

  • Photo Sync problem - Cannot read or write to disk?

Initial sync of my iPad. Photos seemed to download from iPhoto. Space indicated that entire photo library had been copied to iPad. when I go to look for the pictures on the iPad, the screen message is that no photos exist. Back on the iMac, a notice said that the: "The iPad XXX iPad cannot be synced. The disk cannot be read to or written from."
Th sync of my music library had no such problems. What am I doing wrong....all is fine except the photos sync.
    Thanks!

This issue is discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1207
A common resolution is that one or more of the images being synced is corrupt / unreadable.

  • Photo sync problems

I have tried syncing photos from my computer (Win7 OS) from the native My Pictures files and from Picasa. I have tried doing all folders and individual folders. The sync starts with it telling me that it is optimizing the photos and the volume bar shows that it is importing a large group of photos. As soon as the optimization ends and the import begins, it imports one photo, the volume bar drops out and I wind up with only one photo out of 1165. I have tried everything to get it to work but this happens every time. Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated.

I finally figured out the problem and it has nothing to do with the iPad. I went into each individual picture folder properties on my PC and unchecked the box that says "Read only" and then clicked "Apply". I then synced the pictures using the select individual folders option and every photo synced to the iPad...FINALLY!

  • After 5.1 update photo sync problems

After I updated my iPhone 4S, iPad1 and iPad2 to IOS 5.1 I'm having problems syncing my photos.  I also just bought a new iPad3 that came with IOS 5.1 installed and it has the same problems using iTunes to sync on my Windows 7 (64) PC.  The problems are:  not all photos sync into each album, many photos show up in the wrong album and several thumbnails don't match the photo displayed when I tap on it.  Their are two common denominators: my PC running the latest iTunes (version 10.6.0.40) and all my devices running IOS 5.1.  I've reported the iPad3 problem to Apple (case number 299629840) and the support tech and I have tried deleting the iPod photo cache, reloading the IOS software, etc. with no luck.  The purpose of this post is to see if others are having the same problems with other devices on 5.1.

I am having a similar issue.
    - iOS 5.1 on a 4S.
    - Itunes 10.6.1
    - Iphoto 9.2.3
With the 4S connected via wifi I select "Sync photos with" "selected albums..." I check one album only with four photos in it. Hit sync and the I watch the photos transfer in the top bar of itunes as it syncs. The orange status bar at the bottom goes up to show the photo data is on the 4S. I open the photo app on the 4S and the photos do not show up at all. No new album, no photos. The data appears to be there, but the 4S is not showing them.
I've tried deleted the ipod photo cache a few times and restoring. No change.

I am so happy after i got my 3th gen ipad i start sync 7k+ photo off my computer here problem i got and play phone tag with techsupport until now i still have this problems i wonder if anyone counter those and got tip to solve it.
    1. photo size in computer and ipad not match.

i try a lot photo show in computer 386mg show in itune capacity 14.5gb i check in ipad do some + n - it take around 6.6gb
i resize photo to so small it come out same problem
    2. photo color show not correct.
most of my photo sync to my ipad show in green or purple color.
I find out that any photo not in sRGB and do not have iccc color problem will have this problem i can be fix by convert it to sRGB and add iccc profile but it should not be this way ..
the problem just with photo app that come with ipad, i test with adobe photo express it does the same problem color go all jack up.
as now big big problem is can't seem to get photo sync correctly without 1 problem or other .. with 32Gb hdd i can't even get all photo that show 15gb in pc
    system
win 7 home 64bit with latest itune 64bit
    ipad 3th gen 32gb with at&t 4glte

I'm running iOS 5.1 on my iPhone4 and my new iPad3. But I never saw this color effect on my iPhone3G or iPod2G as well. I did sync some slideshows as well, but that is done on a Mac, not a Windows PC.
What are the settings on your camera when you shoot the photos? Is the sRGB profile embedded by the camera? Any RAW formated pictures involved?

  • Photo sync problems with Vista

I have two iPods which I manage on two different computers.
I manage my 2nd Gen Nano on a Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop running Windows XP Home, and manage my 5th Gen Video 30 GB iPod on a Dell Dimension E521 desktop running Windows Vista Home Premium. The same photos are on both computers.
The problems is that When I attempt to sync photos to the video ipod on the Vista system, I get an error "some photos weren't copied to Therese's iPod because they cannot be displayed on the iPod". I've deleted the iPod photo cache folder and tried the sync again, but still get the error.
Since both computers are networked, I thought I would try and sync the photos from the laptop over the network as opposed to the ones on the desktop. In iTunes on the desktop system, I selected the photos from the laptop and they sync'd to the the video iPod.
What I am trying to figue out is, Why the photo's from the laptop over the network would sync and not the photo's from the local Vista machine.
Any ideas of what the problem may be?

It is an HP dv6040ca that has vista 64-bit on it. It has a NVIDIA sata driver, that I have tried to up date today.
Drat. HP has been offering a Microsoft Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller Update/Rollback that has been helping with this sort of thing on desktop models (32-bit), but they aren't offering it on notebooks.
Are you up to date on that BIOS update they are offering? (They don't say what it does, but it might be worth a crack.)

  • OSX Photos sync problem with IOS Photos

iCloud has 1521 photos, which are correctly shown on my iPhone and iPad including all photos taken recently.
Problem is iMac, Yosemite, showing 1558 photos - how can it have more??
Especially as nothing has synced down to the iMac since April 4.
PLUS it says it is uploading 3721!!!! I don't have so many and never have!
I have made sure there are no duplicates.
Is there any way to redo the database or whatever is causing the problem on the iMac?
Have rebooted, unticked Photos in Settings/iCloud and rejoined.
That made it worse - even more to upload (allegedly).

I just had a similar problem with my iPhone 4. Are you using wi-fi syncing or USB? I found that using a USB connection helped. I connected the phone, turned off "sync music," then synced. Turn "sync music" back on and sync again.
    Hope that helps.

  • Photo sync problems os 5

Just upgraded to os 5 on my 3rd gen iPod Touch.
Photo albums appear in list (on Ipod), but have no photos to view.   Complete lib is very incomplete.   Line graph on iTunes show correct capacity used, but LOTS of pictures are not transfering to iPod.
I restored once and had same problem.   I am attempting to re-sync right now.
    Any thoughts?

I believe I found a fix for this problem.  I have a 3rd gen 64GB iPod Touch and this worked for me.
Download the latest version of iPhoto.  (I think it's 9.2.)
Launch iPhoto.  (It will ask to upgrade your iPhoto Library.
Allow it to upgrade your iPhoto Library.
    Exit iPhoto.
    Launch iTunes.
Do a "traditional" sync with your cable or docking station.
Your photos should now sync.  (At least, it worked for me.)
    Green Lantern
p.s.  I also turned off all photo streaming on my iPod Touch and in iCloud in Sytem Preferences on my MacPro.

Sorry, but your problem is not anywhere close to the OP's question, not in the same ballpark. The OP's question isn't a problem for starters.
I have not seen your problem reported here. I've haven't seen anyone report all photos on their computer are optimized for viewing on their iPhone as part of the iTunes sync/transfer process that are not selected to be transferred to their iPhone.
Try deselecting Sync Photos under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync. This should remove all photos on your iPhone that were transferred from your computer. Follow this by reselecting Sync Photos and the folders or albums you want transferred to your iPhone followed by a sync.
If no change after this, you may need to delete the iPod Photo Cache on your Mac followed by another sync. This will require all photos selected to be transferred to your iPhone being re-optimized for viewing on your iPhone with a new iPod Photo Cache for the photos transferred to your iPhone being re-created.

  • IPhone photos syncing problem

In iTunes, I'm getting the error message "iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone <my iPhone> because the folder "Pictures" cannot be found." when I connect my iPhone to my computer.
What does this mean, and how do I remedy this?
    Thanks!

Figured it out.  Somehow the extension changed from JPEG to JPG.  Changing it back sloved the problem.

  • Photos sync problem on iPad 2

Hi. I transferred some of my iPhone 4 photos to my MacBook Pro (Snow Leopard). They looked perfect. I then synced them to my iPad 2: they appear as incomplete, or cut.
    Any ideas???
    Thanks.

Well, read an article (http://thedigitalstory.com/2010/04/will_the_ipad_squish.html) that indicated a pixel size at which ipad optimizes or not. I modified a picture that i was having the 'cuttoff' problem with to that spec. After download it now looks ok. So...lesson is that some of the files just don't get processed correctly with the itunes 'optimization'. I DO have other files that exceed this pixel map but seem to do ok. who knows.  At least i can clean up my pictures a bit so that everything on the ipad looks ok.

  • Photo Sync Problems SOLUTION FOUND !!!

Wanted to share a fix I have found for iPad problem when failing to sync photographs from itunes to ipad/iphone.
Problem was that when photos are syncing it goes 'optimising photos' then fails at the first image saying roughly 'the image including xxxx.jpg failed cos it was incompatible to be displayed on the ipad'.
I solved this, I can see 100s of posts across the net from people with similar problems.
I was mislead that it was to do with the jpgs having colour profiles that are incompatible, it was NOT.
The problem was solved when I tried syncing from images kept on a memory stick instead of on the hard drive, and it worked... so why??? Well. The answer was found in that I tried another hard drive (as a D drive) and tried another external USB hard drive with photos on and they both behave perfectly. WHY??? BECAUSE they are all formatted as FAT32, whereas the main hard drive is formatted in NTFS.
So... now I keep all the photos on another FAT32 Hard drive. SORTED.
(this was on XP, but check it out on any windows system with the problem)

Hi and welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Thanks for soting out that issue.
There is still a question that comes to mind of cross checking the numerous posts of a similar problem to determine what mass storage they have been using. That is, are all the problem reports from people using NTFS and flash drives, or are there some from other formats as well.
Now if you wanted to be a real sport and do that...:-)
You've given something good to use as a reference now.

  • IPod 4g photo sync problem

I have some problems syncing my abt. 4000 photos to the iPod 4g 32GB.
Its not a problem of space or iPod Photo chache eather ... its another problem...
I deleded the iPod Photo Cache quite often allready and I tryed out some other "ways" but still it's not proper syncing the Photos and than the message "[n] items could not be synced. See iTunes for more Information" pops up on the iPod ... iTunes just "finishes" the work without any errormessage ... but the data is still missing on the iPod.... o.O now i really dunno what i should do ... i searched all day already in google, I restored the iPod ....synced it dam often ...... HEEEEEEEEELP me please .....
    ps: I'm using Windoof 7 64bit

*Hi, I had exactly the same problems....which are more or less solved. I don't know why but moving your images to another drive (alternate built in or removeable) and then linking to them to sync seems to work for some reason. I found this advice on another forum and there you go! It seems like we're not the only ones*

  • N79 photos problems/Photos sync problem

    Hello all,
After updating to v20 and doing a hard format, none of my old photos show up in the "captured" part of photos. They are all located in the same folder as new ones, but they only show up under "All". Also, all my old pictures have lost their tags which is really annoying..
Even more, I can no longer sync with Nokia Photos on my PC (through bluetooth). This used to work perfectly, but now I get the message "Synchronization cancelled" after a few seconds. I also sometimes get a message saying that the program is trying to connect to my phone, but user input is required. Although I have no idea what it exactly wants me to do.
    Help please!

  • ITunes Photo Sync Problems

i am having problems getting photos to sync in ITunes. Everytime I ask it to sync photos,it starts "optimizing" the pictures.Next thing I know, my computer blue screens and crashes. I have tried to do this on 2 different Win Vista machines with the same results.Has anyoe encountered this? It would be nice to be able to do pics as the IPhone shoul

    Try here:
    iTunes: Unable to sync photos
Usually deleting the iPod Photo Cache Folder works. Note that if you sync via the folder method, make sure you dlete all the ifolders since :
The iPod Photo Cache stores the photos that are optimized for display on your iPod, iPad, or iPhone. The location of this folder depends on the syncing options you select. In iTunes, if you change the selection in the “Sync Photos From” pop-up menu, a new iPod Photo Cache folder will be created (and the previous folder will remain).
