Photo Thumnails - where are they?

Take a look at my news page on my iWeb site. The last three entries do not have the nice little picture thumbnail picture like the rest of the news entries have. How can I get the picture thumbnail to show?

  • HT4946 ios7 update lost my photos..where are they?

I just did the update and none of my photos are there.  iCloud has only 900 of them but I had 1,200 more.  How do I get them back?  I do not have a backup because I was unable to sink to iTunes or iPhoto prior to the update.  Please help!!!

Check in itunes if you had a backup recently for a mac you tap itunes/preferences/devices and see what is in that white box if you have one great tap ok then tap the name of your phone or iphone then restore from backup..if there isn't then your out of luck for not importing your photos before an update

  • Photo files - where are they?

I'm a new mac user, and trying to point my cloud service (Wuala) at the folder holding my photos (to backup and have access to on other computers), but it seems that I can only direct it to iPhoto, which uploads a whole host of files, none of which look like .jpegs or otherwise regular photos (though thumbnails from recent photos - those taken since I've switched to mac - show up).  Grateful any assistance in figuring out how to solve this issue.

The supported way to access the photos is via Media Browser or by exporting. Sending inexperienced users into the Library Package is to risk dataloss.
Exporting, using the File -> Export command, allows the user to export to a folder tree of their design, rather that letting them face masses of somewhat crypically named folders.
    This User Tip
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921
has details of the options in the Export dialogue.
For help accessing your photos in iPhoto see this user tip:

The "hidden file system" you refer to is a way of protecting the data from inexperienced users mucking about. It make no difference whatever to the runningof the app, and you can actually choose not to use one.

  • I upgraded my iPhone 4 from iOS 3.3.5 to iOS 5.0 and lost all my photos on the camera roll. Where are they and can I  retrieve them?

I upgraded my iOS 3.3.5 to 5.0 on my iPhone 4 and lost all photos on camera roll. Where are they and can they be recovered?

Have you been using your phone as recommended?  If so, you've been importing photos in your camera roll onto your computer for safe keeping.  Just as you would with a standalone digital camera.  Your photos would then reside safely on your computer for archival.
While camera roll photos ARE part of the backup, not everything always goes smoothly as you've seen, which is why the recommendation to import photos as soon as possible to your computer.
If you have a recent backup of your iPhone, you can restore and hopefully many of your photos will be on this backup.  Any photos or data added to your phone since this last backup are, of course, gone forever.

lost my iphone and can't find photos and videos from camera roll on my computer. where are they?
    thanks

    Where did you put them?
These are not part of the sync process at all, as the manual tells you.  You should be importing them to your comptuer regularly as you would with any digital camera.

  • Backed up photos that were deleted from iPad, where are they?

Backed up photos that were deleted from iPad, where are they? Cannot find on pc or iTunes.

X2 on King_Penguin's reply, however, those files are hidden by default.   I'm on Windows 7.  You'd click on your "Start", click on "Computer", click on "Organize" up on the top of the window and click on "Folders and Search Options".  Check off the "Show all Folders" under Navigation pane.  That will show all the hidden files.  Then you can follow the directions King wrote above.    Sorry, if you have a Mac, I don't know how to help you navigate to where the "Folders and Search Options" is.  Google should be a good resource.
It's pretty simple once you find it.  I was moving my back up file from my lap top to my desk top because I wanted to begin syncing my ipad and iphone to my desk top.   Once I unhid the files, I copied it to a thumb drive, uploaded it to my desk top and voila.    Just make sure when you are done you check the box to hide the files again.  You don't want to leave them vulnerable.
    Hope this helps.

I can't find my pictures on icloud where are they?? i have photo stream on but I can't find icloud on my computer to make sure it is on! It isn't listed under the network and internet like the "help" option said!

    Do the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
    2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

  • I want to be able to access my photos that are stored on iCloud – I see mail and contacts but not my pictures?   I have been backing up for a long time -  Where are they?

I want to be able to access my photos that are stored on iCloud
    – I see mail and contacts but not my pictures?
I have been backing up for a long
    time -  Where are they?

You can't view them on iCloud.com.  And photos (and other data) stored in your device backup can't be viewed, other than by restoring the backup to your device.
If you want to view your photos on the web, for the time being you will have to add them to a shared stream (album) with the Public Website option enabled.  This will give you a private url to view them from a browser.

when i updated my ipod and got i cloud recent photos disapeared off my ipod and now i cant find them. where are they?

You should ALWAYS make sure that everything is on your computer and backed up, most especially before any update. The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer regularly.
If you have failed to do this, then you need to redownload:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • After updating to iOS 8 all of my files in Pages are gone!!!! Where are they? And how do I get them back?

After updating my iPad to iOS 8 all my files in Pages and Numbers are gone!!! Where are they and how do I get them back?

If you didn't configure Windows Phone backup option or use VZW Backup Assistant then all is lost.
If you did go with Windows Phone native backup and you use an Outlook account you should find your photos and videos on OneDrive.  I'm not sure how much VZW Backup Assistant backs up but you would need to start a restore from that software and see what's preserved.
With any OS installs/updates a backup is always best to first.

  • I upgraded to the new operating system, OS Yosemite. When I open iPhoto, I can't find my pictures that were downloaded over the last two years. Where are they?

I upgraded operating systems and now I can't find my photos in iPhoto. There are only random photos, but I can't find all the other albums I had. Where are they?

    Silly question first... when "deleting duplicates", did you delete the picturs or music folders? :}
Are the "Previous system" folders still there? Are the photos/music inside the recent Previous folder?
Have you tried doing a search for the files?
Do you have a new account set up, that you are now signed in to, rather than your old account?

  • Region handles in piano roll-where are they?

    Hey!
In Logic 9's piano roll, there were handles on either end of the regions so you could drag the region ends to make them longer or shorter.
I see no handles to do that in Logic Pro X.  Where are they?
In Logic Pro X the only way I can see to lengthen or shorten a region is to do it in the Main Window.  So, in piano roll I have to got to the Main Window to adjust a region.  How clunky is that?!!
Is there a way to expand or contract regions in the piano roll?  Anyone?
    Thanks,
    P.

I don't use iCloud and the last time I backed up was on September 29th to my computer, but I don't import photos or video when I backup, just music, apps, etc. And there's no other albums besides my camera roll, which only has the 29 pictures/videos.

  • Once my pictures are imported by iPhoto, where are they on my hard-drive?

Once my pictures are imported by iPhoto, where are they on my hard-drive?

    You don't go that way.
iPhoto is a database, and you need to use the tools provided to access the data:
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:   You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps.  If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later:  You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation  which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File:  a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier:  Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.    3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
