Photo transfer with i0s5

I upgraded to i0s5 and some of my photo albums didn't transfer to my iPad. They show up as a folder but there are no contents. Thanks

The iTunes source list is the column located at the left - your iTunes library selections - music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, playlists, etc.
There is also a Devices category in the iTunes source list of left hand column when an iDevice is connected such as an iPod, iPhone, or iPad.
Select your iPad under Devices in the iTunes source list to make the various tabs for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes available in the main iTunes window.
You should spend some time with the iPad user guide.

Hello. I have a Motorola Razr from Verizon. I have the USB cable hooked into my computer and the phone charges up just fine. I'm trying to access some pictures i have on the phone and am unable to get them to my Macbook Pro. I've even tried setting up the device via Bluetooth, but the i get a "Device does not have the necessary services" warning.
Is there any way I can access my photos which are on the camera and get them over to my computer??

Also iSync. The iSync list does not include this phone. Anyone know if I just need to wait or if the Maxx will never show up as a supported by iSync?

How to transfer photo gallery with thumbnails from Fireworks?

I am trying to create a website. I am using Dreamweaver CS3
and for my main homepage I used one of their templates.
From my main page I give a link to photo gallery. I intend to
build a gallery in Fireworks as I will need a thumbnails for my
photos.
My question is how can I transfer the created gallery to
Dreamweaver CS3? I need the same template I used for my homepage
for my gallery?

save then in an outside folder.
next inside the directory you use for your web files create a
directory
with either the sme name as the outside folder or name
desired open that
directory.
Open up Dreamweaver and create a Blank HTML page.
Now go to Commands menu and and choose create web Photo
album...
next a menu will pop up and ask directory where images are
located. Then
will ask the destination directory browse to the new
directory you
created. You will also settings for Thumbnail size and
whether to use
captions if you do use captions it will use the file name of
of each
image and you will have to go in and edit the caption names
for the
photos as desired when everything is setup fireworks will
takeover and
create the album. it will create three subdirectories one
with the full
size photos , one with the thumbs, and one with the html
information for
each photo. Plus three other files in main directory one
being an html
file. once completed and Fireworks returns editing back to
Dreamweaver
close and don't save the blank html file. the index file
needed will be
created by Fireworks.
open the index file inside you album directory and edit
cations as needed.
Remember if you do this you'll need a total of 3 times files
of the
photos you use for example.
if you have 30 photos it will be a total of four directories
and 93 files.
for 20 it would be 63 files, for 10 33 files and so on.
If you need to add photos or take away photos the method is
to start
over from scratch and use you FTP program to do a recursive
delete on
the directory then re-upload.

Each time I have tried to transfer them they only transfer with a jpg number so you don't know what photos are what. When you have several thousand photos it is difficult to determined what is what.
Why does iPhoto have the ability to put photos in events and to give them descriptions if it doesn't transfer this info with the photo. I want to back my photos up to an external drive.

The simplest way to achieve what you want is to back up the iPhoto Library. That will get everything.
You sem to be exporting from iPhoto to the Finder. The Finder does not have the same organisation capabilities as iPhoto. If you're going to do that you need to understand some of the differences between the two.
Event Name will become Folder Name.
'Description Name' I guess is the Title you give the Photo
Jpeg Number is the File Name assigned by your camera.
So: File -> Export
Set your Kind to Jpeg
Select your preferred Quality
Check the Boxes at 'Titles and Descriptions' and Location Information
Under FIlename select 'Use Title'
Click on Export. In the Next Window choose a New Folder as your export destination and then Name that as you prefer

When i use the photo transfer kit with the sd to upload photos i used to have on my phone the ipad say 'no photos to import' but i know there are 300 pictures on the sd card why is it not recognizing the photos?

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Photos didn't transfer with the new/reply email - how to recover them?

Was sent these fabulous photos and when my co-worker replied to him, the photos didn't transfer with the new/reply email, unfortunately she deleted the original email. I found this info instead of the attached photos - any idea how I can open these or get back the photos without asking him to resend?

no completely satisfactory answer but you can :
1) email photos to yourself (tedious if you have a lot of filtered)
2) create shared file in iPhone and bring into iPhoto (and maybe Aperture - not tested yet) with filter effects
3) import to iPhoto and add effects from there (likely needs latest version to mirror iPhone filter)

There is no duplication. This is how the iphone handles photos.
Just as one book can be in the public library and that exact saem book can be in the fiction section, a photo is in the photo library ( with ALL other photos synced to the iphone) and that exact same photo can be accessed from the individual folder.
If you wanted to show your family a slide show of all of your photos, then you would use the photo library. if you wanted them to see only Christmas pics, then you would use the folder.
There are not two pictures, simply two places from which to access the same pic.

Photo Transfer to N8

Hello. I'm Kidpunk16, i'm from Argentina (didn't use the spanish version of the forums because i thought that here i will have a faster reply)
I've recently changed my old phone (Samsung I5500) to a N8 because of the need of a camera with phone more than a phone with camera.
I have around 4GB of images (in my computer) that I need to transfer to the phone. I can do this using the mass storage file transfer, but on the phone gallery they appear all scrambled (I have different pictures in different folders, for example a folder with car photos, another with drawings, etc.) and on the "My files" they appear ordered but no thumbnails.
I know that the N8's gallery has an "album" view, and I can organizate them by choosing them in group and adding to a new album, but it's not a practical way because they are all mixed, and navigating throught 5000 (approximately) images is not a fast task.
I've made albums in Nokia Suite (ver. 3.3.86) with the photos, but I can't send the "albums" to the phone, the only way is to choose all the images from the album and send them to the phone but it's the same that throught the mass storage, they get scrambled.

Not sure if this works ( as I don't have a Nokia N8) ..but what you may try is first create Folders on the Phone. Then connect the phone to PC and thru' Windows Explorer select all Images from one particular folder (e.g.Cars) and then Copy - Paste them to the appropriate folder on the phone ( thru' Windows Explorer only) .. Similarly for images in other folders ...

Need help undoing photo transfer from iPhone 4s.

Hello gang, I need some help with a photo transfer as things have gone awry!
I had ~100 photos in my Camera Roll on my 4s. Went to transfer these to a PC, as usual; however, I did (2) thiings differently this time:
(a) did this directly to a USB (instead of to my hard drive first).
(b) Instead of my normal 'copy/paste/delete' I did a 'cut/paste' in order to save a step.
Well, lo and behold, these are now on my USB but each at 1KB size and when I go to view I get the message "Windows Photo Viewer can't open this picture because either Photo Viewer doesn't support this file format, or you don't have the latest updates to Photo Viewer." My PC is running Windows 7, and right now I have about 100 photos that are not accessible. I am not able to 'copy' back to the iPhone and at this point they are lost.
I am curious if copying directly to the USB instead of to my hard drive has generated this issue, although I do not understand why. I have plugged in the USB to other PCs and photos are still not readable, nor are the photos still present in my Camera Roll. Please tell me these are not gone?!

Please, try "Photo Transfer WiFi" or "Sync Photos to Storage" from the App Store. Does it solves your problem?

How do I transfer a photo from my Mac Book to Photos on iPad2? I do not want to transfer all photos, but some.

Where are your photos stored on your Mac?
iPhoto is included with every new Mac purchase. iPhoto is a photo storage/management app that can also be used to import photos from a digital camera including from the iPad's Camera Roll.
If you aren't using iPhoto, I suggest giving it a try. When importing photos with iPhoto, Events are created by selected dates for the photos imported with a preference setting for this. Existing Events can be combined or an existing event can be split into another Event. You can also make liberal use of iPhoto Albums for select photos - similar to creating an iTunes playlist for select music. If you use the Mail app on your Mac for email account access, you can select photos to be emailed direct with the Mail app from within iPhoto, and you can add select photos or an entire Album to be uploaded to FaceBook or Flickr direct from iPhoto. And iPhoto includes a Places and Faces feature.
When using iPhoto, under the Photos tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes you can transfer all photos in your iPhoto library - all photos, events, albums, and faces, or you can transfer select events, albums, and faces. Your chosen order of photos in the Events and Albums in iPhoto selected to be transferred to your iPad will be reflected with the Events and Albums on your iPad. To remove an Event or Album from your iPad, deselect the Event or Album under the Photos tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync.

I'd like to download photos from my digital camera to my 5G but don't really wish to spend $50 Can for the adapter that Apple sells. Was wondering then if my camera USB cable and iPod USB cable could simply be connected with a USB female-female connector or, does the Apple camera adapter perform some sort of signal processing?
Also, I can't figure out what initiates the photo transfer - there seems to be no menu options for it in the iPod. Or, does the transfer take place automatically when the camera and iPod are connected?

Hi Laurie,
After you plug in the camera adapter the iPod goes to an import screen where you select Import to copy the photos to the iPod. I believe the connector is the only way to have this work (a dock to usb cable won't do the trick).
