Photo Viewing Direction

How can I rotate my vertical photos so that they all run in the same direction? I've done this in Preview and saved changes, yet it doesn't seem to stick. Horizontals are fine.
Also is there a way to rotate the verticals, without cropping, so that they run the same way as a horizontal, so that I don't have to keep turning my iPod to show someone a slideshow?

i have a solution! I bought the nano for my boyfriend's birthday and i wanted to put pictures of us on it before i gave it to him BUT the freakin thing wouldn't display pictures that i took with my new camera. soooo it turns out my new camera takes pictures in mondo sized resolutions and THAT is the problem. after trying a billion things for two hours straight i came up with this: *change the resolution size* of your pictures that show up as a black screen on ur nano. you also need to change the size of your picture too to *make the file smaller*. you can do this with any photo editing program such as adobe photoshop but i recommend this program called irfranview: http://www.irfanview.net/ its free and it works! i am extremely relieved and happy about it and also a little ****** off at apple for creating such ridiculous problems and not offering HELP at all for them!!! anyway, good luck with that. my email is [email protected] if u need help with image resizing. ciao!

How do I get direct into P/S cc from a picture in Bridge instead of it coming up in Windows photo viewer when I click on the picture?

On previous versions I simply clicked on a picture in BR and it came up in P/S at the moment it defaults to Windows photo viewer. I also get a version of Elements editor 12 trial showing in the "open with" table that I would like to get rid of ?

In Bridge preferences file type associations you can alter the application you want Bridge to open that file type in.

The open with shows all applications on your system, if you have not uninstalled the trial version properly you should try to do so or just ignore it.

Photo viewer issue in N8

when i opened the photo viewer to view photos, it takes more time to load (the loading symbol is rotating for more than minute).This was not the actual opening time before.If i try to exit the viewer, i couldn't,the display is switched off for a while,then i pressed menu key to minimise the application and closed it.
Also i locked the screen using the slider key.but i couldn't unlock the screen using slider key.
does anyone experience the same issue?

There are no any options to let you choose "rename" in Windows 7 if you connect the iphone via USB
I have tried to rename the photo directly in iPhone Explorer but it will make the photo cannot be read in iphone and just got nothing to show on its screen until I rename it into the previos name again then the picture will show properly.
May be it can but I do not know how to rename them in Windows 7, could you please show me step by step?

W7 Photo viewer- frustration

I have Windows 7 Pro. I do not see the "rename" in the Windows Photo Viewer, including in the file options. I want to DIRECTLY rename my photo through the viewer. You could it in Vista.
I already know allll about the changing Views/previews in a Folder, batch name, the tab rename, etc in folders. I know the spilt screen style- resize folder/viewer, to see both--- not want I am asking for. I am NOT asking for the folder methods. Save

General tab, type the name that you would like to change:

Windows Photos Viewer

Up until yesterday when I attempted to open a JPG photo or file sent to my Hotmail account, it would direct me to Windows Photo Viewer. I then could open the photo using Miscrosoft Photo Gallery. Now it sends me to:
C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\IE\0MX0B0HF\Name.jpg
So what am I doing wrong?

Bridge opens in Windows Photo Viewer

This is a pain previous version opened directly into Photoshop, is this a bug can this be changed from Windows Viewer default to Photoshop

I actually WANT my BMPs to open with Windows Photo Viewer, but they don't For some reason PNG files DO open with Windows Photo Viewer by default in Bridge, but BMPs open with Photoshop.
The time to load photoshop is like loading a cannon to shoot a goldfish oftentimes when I just want to look at a picture quickly rather than edit it, sooo, I was wondering is there any way to change items TO use Windows Photo Viewer, since it's not listed as an option for anything but PNG?
Of course, in the File Associations setting of Preferances, you can Browse for a new program to add, but it doesn't like the input of %SystemRoot%\System32\rundll32.exe "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Photo Viewer\PhotoViewer.dll", ImageView_Fullscreen %1 (where %1 is the filename) which is what Windows uses normally to open Windows Photo Viewer since it's part of a DLL rather than a separate program...According to a google of windows photo viewer location
.... Yet, of course Bridge opens PNG files for me with Windows Photo Viewer, so there must be some way to add the option manually for BMP somehow if I can copy whatever set up it's using to open PNG files with it?

Hi. Your answer is extremely helpful. I didn't know about the contact sheet option. What I am trying to do is print out all my albums while showing a thumbnail and the title of the photo, like I could do in Extensis Portfolio. It would be very helpful to me to be able to print a contact sheet with the titles of the photos as a reference; I have a lot of photos to keep track of. I had hoped iphoto could do this without having to resort to work-arounds and extra steps, since the photo viewing area shows me exactly what I want, thumbnails and titles. If there is no way to print a contact sheet with the photo titles, I have to say it is a big oversight on by Apple. The more functionality the better.

Satellite L500 - Windows 7 photo viewer is not working

I have got a problem with Windows 7 photo viewer as when I click on a picture to view it through photo viewer ( to play slide show feature ) , it just freeze on the first picture without moving to the next picture and no feature of Windows photo viewer like shuffle and Loop work there !!! even when I right click on the photo , it just doesn't do any thing ....
my laptop operating system is W 7 - 32 bit (L500) , so I don't know what I should do about?

I just click on any picutre (from folder directly) and nothing happen , the slide show feautre just doesn't work not even for windows JPG formats. there is no arrow button in the bottom of page not even the other related buttons !
I have other images with JPG formats in the folder , I don't believe there is something wrong with pictures formats becasue when I use Picasa for reviewing them , they simply work even the slide show in Picasa works fine ! !!!!.....

Faces not showing only photo view

I just started using aperture and all my faces show in the photo view then click on the faces button. when i click directly on the faces tab in the inspector/finder column only some of the faces show up.
Any help on getting all my faces to show up in both views?---thanks

I think I understand the problem statement. Although not an aperture user myself, I see similar in iPhoto
On the corkpad, I only see
This is not as it should be, the key photo's assigned to a face should be displayed.
If I move my mouse slowly over each frame, I occasionally see a face move by. Moving your mouse across a rectangle should allow you to rifle through your photo's. Here.. all black, not even the assigned key photo appears.
Now we get to discover new faces from imported photo's. In this case I doubleclick on 'Carolien'
.. and we click on "Confirm Additional Faces"
We don't get to see all photo's, but a subset:
Look at the top richt of your screen. Notice that the focus is set on 'faces'
If I now switch to Photo's, then pictures where iPhoto suspects Carolien to be in are displayed.
I believe this setting is comparable to what apertureblues1 is refering to.
@apertureblue1 I believe this is not an aperture specific problem, since I experience the same in iPhoto. I don't have aperture on my system at all.
I don't recall since when this problem occurred. It was after a software update while running Lion.
Moved to Mountainlion since then, but the problem persists.
I'm running on a 2.66Ghz intel core2duo Imac, 8Gb 1067Mhz DDR3.
OSX 10.8

Advancing/reversing Photo Viewing

I upgraded my iphone to 5.0.1 and now when I try to advance my photos with the forward arrow I get a window offering a slide show which is not what I want. I used to be able to forward/reverse my photo viewing with directional arrows. Now there is only the forward arrow and it leads to slideshow option. What's wrong? Can it be fixed?

All Photos view in full screen can't happen?

Just want to be sure I'm not missing something. When I'm using iPhoto in full screen mode, I only have Events, Faces, Places, Albums, Projects and NO PHOTOS view. Right?

Wrong. This is what I get in the Photos mode with Event Titles shown:

Photos loaded directly onto ipad air do not show up on PC anywhere when synced using itunes

Photos loaded directly onto ipad air using Apple camera connection kit, do not show up on PC anywhere when synced using itunes

They won't show in iTunes (iTunes is only used to copy photos to a device, not copy them off), but you should be able to copy them off either manually via My Computer (the iPad should show as a camera) or via windows camera wizard or windows live photo gallery depending upon your OS version.

Can't open a link in a web page, goes immediately to down load and then when opened it shows downloaded to windows photo viewer, which won't open

I open a web page, in the web page there is a link to open another link. I click on this link and the doc is 'downloaded' automatically , I click on the 'green arrow' download button at top of screen, the page opens and says 'windows photo viewer can't open the picture because photo viewer doesn't support this file format or you don't have the latest update to photo viewer'!! I just want to open the link. Grateful for advice.

No more key photos in "Photos" view?

After upgrading, I can no longer see key photos in "Photos" view. Is this a setting that I can change, or did iPhoto '11 drop this feature?
