Photobooth default email application change

Is there anyway to change the default email application in photobooth. The default is Mac Mail and I want to use Entourage instead.
I've switched the default mail to Entourage already but Photobooth is the only one that doesn't change.

You can look at the network.protocol-handler.external.mailto prefs on the about:config page. 
If network.protocol-handler.external.mailto prefs are user set (bold) then right-click and Reset them to the default value. 
You can also try to change the network.protocol-handler.warn-external.mailto pref to true.

I have 2008R2 Remote Desktop Servers with Adobe Acrobat XI pro. When a new user tries to send a pdf via email, it pops up a message "How would you like to send this email" they have to pick "Default email application (Microsoft Outlook) and Remember my choice. Then the next time they try to send an email, the get a warning "This email will be sent using "Default email application (Microsoft Outlook)". Click on 'Change Preferences' to change your default account settings. They have to Click Do not Show this message again, and then continue. (actually I have a couple of users that have to go through this process Every time they sign on to the remote desktop server),
I downloaded the group policy adm pack and I can not find any settings to default this for a user.
Is there any group policy settings or a registry entry I can make on the remote desktop server to default these settings?

Distiller is a different product. The prefs should go under Adobe Acrobat.

How to spot Mail from being default email application

Call me crazy but I like to use Netscape as my email application. I need to stop mail to launch as the default email application.
How can I do this?

Yes, of course(I'm sorry, my last post wasn't so complete as it should be), exactly the same as it was with me... I've solved it at "the long way" (there must be a shorter way, something like an "abort"-way, but I don't know that way...). I've opened an extra account at yahoo (.ca or .com), which is easily to set in Mail (see in your yahoo mail > options). Than I have imported that mail-account into my Mail, so that I can use all the options (also mail>preferences). Than I have set my standard mail-application in the tab "general" into entourage. than it is just load your mail into netscape mail.

HT1637 I cannot change my default email application because Apple Mail wants me to create an account first. I cannot enter preferences.

Navigate to Safari and select.
(I've never used my browser as a default email client so can't say with 100% certainty that this will work. Some links are hard wired to open Mail when clicked. If you Control click on a link you should be able to copy the mailto info and paste into a new Gmail message.)

Photo Booth default email application

Entourage is my email application. Unfortunately, when I launch Photo Booth, it defaults to the basic non-Entourage email application.

Mail default email reader changes constantly

i have a weird issue where the Preferences > General > Default Email Reader keeps getting reset to some Windows program (i run Parallels and windows 7 on the laptop). i /think/ it keeps getting set to a windows program but in any case it is never Mac Mail which is sort of inconvenient.
has anyone heard of such a thing or know how to get this to stay on Mail?

for some reason though when i get into virtual machine > configure > applications the pulldown for Email is "Open in Mac". i will try and see if there is some help on the parallels forum on this.
i guess i am correct in thinking that the only mail setting in mac OS is in Mail? i mean, now that i think about it i have Thunderbird loaded and Sparrow loaded. i don't suppose that somehow something in these email clients is causing mac to get confused...
just thinking out loud on this one i guess...

ICal not using the default email application?!??

I use Thunderbird as my default (and only) email application. In the preferences of Apple's Mail application, I selected Thunderbird as the default email reader.
However, when sending email from iCal, it attempts to use Mail, not Thunderbird?!? This happens both when emailing an event and when sending an invite for a published calendar.
How do I make iCal use Thunderbird for sending mail?
Tried searching the forum and Apple Support site, but failed to find an answer.

I am also now having this issue. I didn't have this problem previously. Other apps (e.g. AddressBook) are using my default mail program, but iCal strongly prefers Mail.app? I am seeing this on my laptop that I don't use as often, but will confirm on my desktop machine tomorrow ...

Default email application not recognized

To begin, I use Canon MP250 for printing and scanning. I just re-installed the software on a new computer running Win 7- same as my last one. I changed my default email program in both default programs on Win 7 and in Fire Fox under Tools/options/ etc..... Now when I scan reports and try to email them I get an error message that I need to either install an email program or if one is installed, make the association. I did and it worked fine in my last computer (it bit the dust for unrelated reasons) but I can't seem to make it work on this machine. HP Pavilion dv7 win 7 using email client incredimail. Default email preference change

today without warning IPhoto changed the default email preference to Entourage and all other selections are greyed out... what gives, yesterday I mailed pics via Mail, my choice of email program but today I cannot choose Mail as my default,
currently running iPhoto 4.0.3 and iMail 1.3.11

I had the same and changed the preference-file as follow:
1. Open the "com.apple.iPhoto.plist" file:
user-->library --> Preferences -->com.apple.iPhoto.plist
2. Go to the line where you find the preferenced programm
3. Add a line above f.e. "Microsoft Entourage" and indicate "Mail" instead of Microsoft Entourage (use the icons on the top of window)
4. Delete the old line with "Microsoft Entourage"
5. Save as your file at the same place but without plist at the end
6. Delete the old preference file
7. Add to the new file ".plist" for getting the same name as the old file.
8. Change the library name of your i-photo to force i-photo to look again for the right file
9. Open i-Photo and select the right library of i-photo
10. You will see the old mail-icon and you can sent pictures again by mail.
Try it; it works without adding any programm....

Yes you can send the dynamic values to the JS,
I have never tried <bean:write but you can use as,
var make="<%=makeFromJava%>"Where make is a JS variable and makeFromJava is a java variable where you can sent/set some dynamic values

Setting Gmail as default email application

I just purchased my first mac and am trying to set up gmail as the default mail program (so when I click on "mail to" hyperlinks when browsing it automatically invokes gmail rather than the apple mail program, etc).
I read elsewhere that I should launch the apple mail program and then select gmail from the drop down list for default mail program...but when I launched apple's mail application it somehow knew I used gmail (maybe because my appleID uses as gmail address) and proceeded to pull my gmail inbox into the apple mail client. I then selected preferences and tried to change to a different default mail app, but the drop down box pointed me to my applications folder and I could not figure out how to properly point to gmail (which is web based and runs in a browser (Safari)).
Can this be done and if so what are the right steps?

You have to download google's little gmail notifier in order to get it to work. Don't worry though, it's a great little program.

FF4: Default email provider changed but won't load

In FF3 I changed my default mailto link to Gmail using Tools>Options>Applications>UseGmail and it worked fine.
Doing the same in FF4, nothing happens. The page just sits there.
I don't often use mailto links, and can always just open Gmail in another tab, but I would still like this flaw resolved please.

I don't have an Internet Explorer icon on my desktop, so I found a tiny one in the system tray. It has no Programs tab. The five tabs on the icon properties are General, Shortcut, Compatibility, Security, Details. Did you mean actually ''open'' the Internet Explorer browser to do this? If so, then I see '''Tools'''>'''Internet Options'''>'''Programs''', but there's no option for Gmail there.
Never mind. I think it's a FF4 specific problem. As I said, it works in FF3, and, having set it up in FF4 it works on right-click, it's just the regular left-click that locks up the tab. I have to press the back or reload button to escape from it.

How do I set a default email application in Firefox, so that when I click on an email link it will automatically use Yahoo! instead of Microsoft email etc.?

Currently it defaults to Windows Livemail 2011. Not sure I want to use this or if it even matters...?

Default email client install?

New Toshiba Satellite laptop, Windows 7, Comcast service provider. When I click on the mail icon on the toolbar, I get a message that "Windows Internet Explorer could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed."   Sometimes I also get this message on a webpage when I click on the "contact us" button provided there.   How can I correct this problem?

Your getting that msg since you dont have a default client email setup. I got the same issue since i only have yahoo & gmail accounts which are web based.

How do I change the default email to hotmail? There is no "webmail" optioin in applications and no program available when I select "choose another program" when I follow the instructions.

I want to change my default email to hotmail (currently it goes to Outlook, which I don't use). Firefox instructions say to choose "webmail" in applications, but when I do, the only webmail account that shows up is gmail, which I don't use. The other option in the instructions says to select "use other" and then "browse", but again, when I open the browse file, there is nothing there for hotmail. How do I add hotmail to become the default?

Setting Hotmail as the (default) mail provider involves doing some steps.

Set the pref gecko.handlerService.allowRegisterFromDifferentHost to true on the about:config page. 
In Firefox 6+ you can no longer run JavaScript code via the location bar. 
You can run the JavaScript code in the "Firefox/Tools > Web Developer > Scratchpad" (Shift + F4). 
Paste the full JavaScript code in the code window and run the code via "Execute > Run" 
Do not forget to reset the pref gecko.handlerService.allowRegisterFromDifferentHost to false after you have added that mail provider.
