Photographers! App to put text into photos?

I have some pics that I want to put titles into/onto.
I am putting together a poster. The top of the poster has a picture. I want to put some text on top of/into the pic.
What is a SIMPLE and EASY TO USE app where I can open the pic and type in the text and do some formatting?
I do not want a 'template' app. The one's in pages don't work for this project.
Oh, I want it to be able to use the fonts I have. A program that gives me limited fonts is NOT going to work.

The free Apple app Preview that came with your computer can add text and edit/color correct images. Open the image in Preview and go to Help in the menu, Preview Help.
Click on Annotate images and PDF documents and choose add text or a text bubble, follow the directions. To see how to edit images click on Edit Images.
If you have iPhoto installed (you need to buy it from the App Store) you can edit/color correct in that app too. To add text to a photo in iPhoto you need to download this free plug-in for iPhoto to be able to add text to an image.

Putting text on photos

I'm not sure if this is the right place for the question...
Aside from the Macbook Pro's "Preview" app is there another program on the Macbook or from the App Store (for free) that allows you to write and edit the text on photos. Previews is very limited, this forum looks to have more options for text than Previews. I don't really care about editing the photo, simply adding text but with a few more options like justification of text.

You don't have to buy any apps. Instead why don't you create one with Automator.
The below example is using Automator to write text on images.

How do you put text into a photo book?

I am new to Photoshop Elements, using Elements 11, and my first project is to make a photo book for a recent trip. I have figured out importing the pictures and titles. I want to include a 3000 word story on 3 or 4 pages. I have spent hours trying to do this. I thought I would be able to easily copy and paste from Word but that isn't working for me. I have retyping the whole thing in "Your Text Here". I can't seem to make it work. Pane sizing is an issue. Editing after I have typed several paragraphs. I am about to give up. I can't locate any tutorials etc on how to do this. I bought Elements 11 for Dummys and they might as well have skipped photo books. It was useless. Can someone give me some guidance please?

Try creating a new page template in expert mode.
File >> New >> Blank File
Select your page size height and width and background color and use 300 ppi for printing.
Then select the T tool, click top left, and copy and paste your text.
Save as jpeg and add it to your book as an image and use the bounding box to scale/re-size.
Note you may have to click inside the text area and add the carriage return as it’s not easy to justify text in elements.
I would suggest you first save as PSD that will preserve the text layer as a separate layer. You can then re-open the PSD file at any time e.g. if you decide to edit any of the text. Treat it as your master file and use it to save a fresh jpeg whenever needed.

Appleworks putting text and photo in an email

I am a new jack to the Mac world.
I have been trying to place a saved online photo within the body text of an email I wish to send out. So that the photo appears within the body text of the email when opened.
I do not want to send the picture as an attachment.

This isn't really an AppleWorks question, more of a Leopard one (or Mail and Address Book): however -
A picture added to an email is an attachment. If you place it within the text, most modern email clients will display it within the text: but a few will simply display it as an attachment with an icon. This is a matter of the capabilities of the receiving email client, or how it is set up by its user, and there isn't anything you can do to change that.

Inserting text into photos

For example, I want to put my business name at the bottom of all my photos.

You'll need an external editor to do this. In order of price - starting with free - here are some suggestions:
Seashore
Graphic Coverter
Acorn
Photoshop Elements
There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

I use Go Daddy Web Mail and FireFox may be preventing me from being able to put text into the subject line when composing an email.

As the question / statement says, When in Firefox, once I've started my webmail application through Go Daddy, I can compose an entire email filling out all the required info. But, when I put the mouse over the 'Subject Line' and click, no cursor appears.
Having walked through this with Go Daddy, they are convinced that it's FireFox because we opened up their webmail with 2 other browsers and both allowed me to plug in a subject line.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

Ticking a checkbox puts text into a textbox

Hi guys,
I am struggling to find an example of code for the really simply scenario of, a checkbox (Checkbox1) is ticked and pre-fills a textbox (Textbox1) with "Blah blah blah".
When the checkbox is unticked, the text vanishes.
Can anyone help me?

How can I put text into a cell with a formula?

I'm trying to sort a budget in Numbers 3.1. I have a sum of column of cells that I'm adding up. The cell that has a total number looks like this: =SUM(F). I want to have that sum have a $ sign in front of it. I've ready everywhere that I could do ="$" SUM(7), but that doesn't work in 3.0, only in Numbers 09 I guess. Is there a new solution for 3.1?

Is there a way to put pictures from Whiteboard into photo stream?

I had students draw pictures in Whiteboard and would like to use Photo Stream to transfer to my computer. I can't find a way to put them into Photo Stream.

Copy from iPod to PC
It is important not to allow your iPod to sync with an empty library. If it is set to synchronise automatically you will get a message saying your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to sync – it is important to press cancel as syncing with an empty library erases all music from your iPod.
You can also prevent auto sync by holding down shift & ctrl as you plug in your iPod and keeping the keys held down until the iPod appears in iTunes.
Once you are connected, you need to set your iPod to manage music manually.

Imputing text into "your site title" in webgallery and journal

I cannot find the answer-aperture 1.5 I cannot put text into the box Your site title. I can type one word but as soon as I hit the spacebar I am out of the box and keystrokes become key commands in the program. I go back to try to delete and no go. I spoke to Apple people at Photo Expo and they have no idea. Their program acts like a normal word processor. One guy suggested that if I have any UNSANITY HACKS to disable them.( I do use windowshade and disabled it and no difference). G5 dual quad, OSX 10.4.8, raptor 75gb 10,000 rpm drive, Nvidia 6600 stock graphics card. Another person in my place has same computer and no problem with his type.
Driving me crazy!!!

HI, thank you so much for the reply.
I did several things to try to remedy the problem. No go.
Dumped prefs, repaired permissions, deleted all Unsanity programs, disabled other little screen apps.
Same problem exists. When I am in the "your site title" and highlight text to replace, first it does not go away with the delete button at first. It does not retype over the selection. When I finally clear the type box and start typing if only goes so many letters before the typing is then hitting key commands. If I hit the spacebar after a word I am out of the type box and into the main window.
Yes it will work to type in another word processor program (stickies, text edit, etc...) and copy and paste, but that *****. I would rather fix the problem.
Anymore ideas?? Have you ever heard of this in Aperture?
I did not reinstall the program. I would have to reinstall and then do the latest upgrades. You think it actually could be in the program rather than the computer system???
Another computer, here, like mine, runs aperture and the text box works like a text box should, no problem.

If i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it as the option 'set up as new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos and ect?

The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. I'd like to copy my iWeb photos & comments and put them into a Photo Book

Instead of building a Photo Book from scratch in iPhoto, I'd like to copy several photo pages with comments from iWeb and transfer them into a Photo Book. I tried to copy/paste and this doesn't work - the comments do not get captured. Has anyone done this? Thanks.

Command-Shift-4 will change your mouse into cross-hairs. Position at the upper left corner and drag to the right and down. When you have things lined up let go of the mouse and a new image file will be placed on your Desktop.
This image file will probably not be high enough resolution to use in a printed Book, however. They require 300 dpi in most cases.
To copy text from a Web page hold down the mouse as you drag across it and "Copy". "Paste" into any text editor to save the clippings.
You can also paste text into most image editing apps like GraphicConverter.
