Photography:I have an iMac OSX 10.6.7 loaded with Photoshop Elements 9, connected to a Cannon Pixma ip4300 printer.  My problem: Whether using PSE 9 or Photoshop, the colours on my prints do not match the monitor, regardless of the monitor display profile I set on the imac monitor.
I prefer using PSE 9 for editing and printing, but results are awful, possibly because one cannot disable "printer controls colour management" on the Pixma. Prints from Photoshop are better, but still not perfect, and of course editing on mismatched colours on PSE 9 and then printing on Photoshop is a poor gamble.
Questions:
1. Any suggestions on overcoming problem?
2. If I decide to buy a new printer, what is the very best printer for use with the iMac for prints up to and including A4?

I've never owned a Canon printer, so I can't help there; but, offering a suggestion you asked for: have you looked into the Epson Artisan series?
http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/jsp/ProductCategory.do?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid =-8182
I have the Epson Artisan 810 (the new model is the 835); it works  very well and does colors extremely well. I also have no problem with the printing dialog interface; also, the Epson allows many settings on the touchscreen display (don't know what the new 835 offers that I don't have). Mine also offers duplex printing (although I must say I've only used that once), and an excellent scan function. I usually do not use iPhoto, but generally Aperture, PSE 6, Graphic Converter and a few other minor ones and have had no problem printing with those.

  • Can you have more than one plan at a time? i.e.: After Effects CC Single App   Photography

I can't afford to pay for the whole CC package, but I really miss Photoshop in my workflow. In all the promotional stuff, the single app plan is offered to those who only want "one or two" apps, but I'm guessing the two only applies to PS+LR
Paying an extra £8/mo for Photoshop would be worthwhile, but It isn't immediately clear whether or not this is doable.
If anyone has tried this, or knows an answer I'd greatly appreciate your help!
    Thanks,

Yes, you may have more than one "single" subscription, with the photography special counting as a single

  • Why is the "Free texture" not available to Photoshop Photography Plan subscribers?

I have subscribed to the Adobe CC Photography Plan since August 2013.  Today I received an email from Adobe with the subject line "New Benefits Added to your Creative Cloud Photography Plan."  The email linked to a web page.  On that page, I clicked the link "Enter the Magical World of Trey Ratcliff."  On that page, there was a link "Free Adobe Photoshop CC texture" (http://inspire.adobe.com/2014/11/7/free_adobe_photoshop_cc_texture.html).  I decided to try the texture - Metal Texture 08 by Niklas K. Andersen.
Using the Creative Cloud Desktop app on Windows, I found my way to the Market.  For you information, this was my first time using the Market feature.  When I attempted to add it to "My Library," I got the message
"Market Assets are a Premium feature only available to 'CC Complete' and 'Single App' members"
    Two questions:
as a subscriber to the CC Photography Plan, am I not a 'Single App' member?
If the answer to (1) is no, then why doesn't Adobe make it clear that the "Free Texture" is only for premium subscribers?

  • I have the adobe cloud 9.99/ month photography package i downloaded lightroom 5.4, it told me it was a trial version, and i'm now at the end of the trial and it won't let me download the full version and i don't have a serial number

i have the adobe cloud 9.99/ month photography package i downloaded lightroom 5.4, it told me it was a trial version, and i'm now at the end of the trial and it won't let me download the full version and i don't have a serial number. also, when i click buy, i get an error message saying, "application not found."

There are two different LR’s, one with a serial-number licensing and one with a CC-signin license.
You should uninstall the serial-number LR you have installed, then
    Quit the CC Desktop application,
Restart the CC Desktop application—this will rescan what you have installed and not see LR,
LR will now be on the CC Desktiop apps list, so install that.

  • If I get the photography plan does it come with phone gap build (the 25 private apps) or do I need to purchase them seperately

I have been using the phone gap build service and I noticed that the plans page links to the Creative Cloud plans as well (the ? in the top right). I was wondering if I get the photoshop/lightroom plan if I get access to the paid phone gap build service or if I need to purchase that as well?
    Thanks.

Phone Gap is not part of the photography bundle. Why should it? You do not get Dreamweaver or Flash to actually build content for Phone Gap, only PS and LR.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud/Photography: does it come with Bridge?

Does anyone know if Adobe Creative Cloud/Photography comes with Bridge?

    Yes, it does.
I've found that Adobe has put lots of effort into pushing Photoshop and Lightroom as part of that plan but does not fully explain the entire plan anywhere convenient.

  • I'm planning on buying a MacBook Pro 13" soon and I do a bit of photography. But I still have a few questions!!!!!

Well, I'm currently on a Windows 7 based laptop (HP Pavilion dv6 2010). I like Windows and I've been using it all my life and I think it's great!!! But, there are features the the OS X has that Windows doesn't have (namley the Motion Gestures).
    Things I want to know:
1.) There is one feature that Windows 7 has it's called Themes (where you can play slide shows of your pictures on your desktop and also play around with the color effects of the taskbar). I really love this feature as a pohotographer!!! I wanted to know if the Mac OS X Lion has a feature similar to this (where I can change the color effects on the dock. Also, have a slide show of pictures on my desktop that change, lets say every 5 mins, from a particular folder in 'My Pictures' while, I'm working or using an App. Also on Windows 7 you can name/save/share that theme with others is that possible on the Mac).
2.) An other question I need an answer for is, is there a free program for Mac OS X similar to IZArc (and .rar extractor). I use this program quite frequently on my PC (mainly while downloading textures shared online, I use a lot of textures for my pictures).
3.) Which is more realiable Microsoft Office or iWork. I'm used to working on MS Office (especially on Word, Outlook, Excel, & Powerpoint). My college uses Microsoft Office and I'm a business major (photography is just a really big hobby of mine) so which would benefit me Numbers or Excel (I would most probably go with MS Office, I just want to hear other opinions, like features that iWork has and MS Office doesn't).
4.) Would the 500 GB hard drive @5400 rmp benefit me or would it be slow (like affect start up times/resume times/opening large files. My HP dv6 2009 has a 500 GB hard drive @ 7200 rpm). Would I need an SSD? (I don't think I can afford one).
5.) Can I share files with Windows based computers at my home (we have 2 HP laptops, three Desktops, and one of the desktops is attached to a printer. And since this desktop has a printer, it's essential that we connect to this desktop). So, can a MacBook Pro connect to a Windows home network.
6.) Are there any overheating issues with the new MacBook Pro 13"? My HP pavilion dv6 2010 does (it's due to poor build quality and improper venting, also the 500 GB HDD @7200 rpm). Whereas, my dad's HP Pavilion dv5 2011 doesn't.
If I get to have all the features on the Mac OS X Lion, I would feel like having no compromises and purchase myself a MacBook Pro 13" immediatley or sometime soon!!!

  • I have a EOS T1i and would like to experiment with time lapse photography. Any help?

I have an EOS T1i and would like to experiment with time lapse photography.  I just read an Apple tip for the iPad and it is easy to do with the iPad but timing is something else.  I would like to do it with my Canon and be able to change the timing between shots.  Can you provide advice?  I put time lapse into Google and it had an attachment for the T3i that I could get from Amazon.  I don't know if it fit my T1i and don't know where to put it.  Any advice would be helpful.  I tried to do a search on this forum but could not find the answer.

Hi. I have set up the trial versions of Photoshop CC 2014 and Lightroom 5.6 (ie the Photography plan) on a desktop that I have added a new drive to with Windows 7. Everything works fine BUT it is an old computer and I'm thinking that it may pack up unexpectedly. These things happen. I want to sign up for the Photography plan but I also have a Windows Vista laptop, and that is old too so I may want to put the apps on a new desktop and a new laptop, having already installed on my desktop. That makes three activations. Am I allowed to do this? Cheers. Paul

You cannot have three activations. It's simply not technically possible. If and when the time comes, you simply deactivate/ sign out on one of the old systems and install on the new one. If the system goes belly up, you contact support to reset your account. No need to make it more complicated than that and overthink it.

  • If I buy the student CC Photography pack would I be able to upgrade to the CC Complete pack before my annual subscription is up?

Currently I only really require Photoshop and Lightroom for my photography (£8.78) however within a year I will need the complete package (£15.88) so i can use Illustrator, premiere pro and after effects... so if i purchase the photography subscription with an annual commitment, would i be able to upgrade to the complete subscription in a few months? Paying the extra cost of course.
    Thanks
