Photomerge and other tools problems

Photomerge (panorama) and Open as layers in Photoshop, will not work from either Bridge CC or Lightroom LR5 and Photoshop CC on my iMac (2013), but work perfectly on my Macbook Pro 13" (2009). Both OS's and Applications are virtually identical and both worked perfectly a month ago. Merge to panorama sends the message "documents must be saved before they can be merged". "Open as layers in Photoshop" doesn't do anything. I have proceeded with all the forms of corrections (preferences, uninstall and re-install, etc. I even bought a new iMac and installed Photoshop CC, Bridge CC and Lightroom 5 on a new clean system. The results are the same. Other people seem to share this problem, but no one from Adobe seems to interested. Any help - anywhere?

In Adobe Flash CS6, I have a blue box appearing around lines drawn with the line tool (and other tools like brush etc). Whenever I try to use a tool, a blue box appears around the line and I have to double click it to manipulate it, which opens just that line in a semi burred screen where all the other objects are semi-grey in the background. I can manipulate this line in this screen but nothing else at that time which I could do about 5 minutes ago. For exampe, I no longer can join up 2 lines drawn by the line tool together. For some reason this started randomly (probably due to a accidental shortcut combination) and I just can't put it back to what it used to be. I have inserted a video hopefully showing what I mean. Then "Quick Preview" will be turned on and prevent editing. Hit "p" again or use the "View" ->"Quick Preview" menu entry.

Sol 9/cc not working for gtk+-1.2.10 and other tools

I have an older version of gtk+ (1.2.10) which doesn't configure, with following error message;

I have a similar error for nessus-core2.0.9. Although when I configure other tools, such as gtk+-2.2.4, I have no problem. It checks for cc and finds cc.

PATH=/opt/SUNWspro/bin/cc:/usr/ucb/cc:/....The PATH variable must not contain the pathname for individual executables, it must contain the names of
directories that should be used to find executables.
Instead of adding /opt/SUNWspro/bin/cc to the $PATH, add the directory /opt/SUNWspro/bin
PATH=/opt/SUNWspro/bin:/usr/ucb:/....
Another problem: PATH contains "usr/local/bin" (NOTE: without leading / slash!), this probably needs to be
changed to "/usr/local/bin"

Photoshop CS4 64 bit - Clone Tool does not work (and other tools)

Hello.
I have been using Photoshop for many years going back to v5. I had used Design Prem Suite CS4 for the past year on an XP machine. All worked fine. I recently moved to WIndows 7 (64 bit) to get the add memory usage. CS4 installs both 64 and 32 bit versions on Windows 7 64 bit. So far all good. Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. I am at a dead end and really have no confidence in getting Adobe's help.
My tools are working erratically, especially the cloning and healing tools. I can't even use Photoshop in its current state and this has been going on now for weeks, no help from Adobe on my lates support ticket post.
I canonly say that the clong tools is all over the place including but not limited to:
* When I sample and then click to stamp, lines shoot across across the image as it I clone a line not a single sample area. These stamps can be the length of the enite image.
* when I sample, then click to stamp, some the stamps occurs on some other part of the image.
* when I sample and the click to stamp, nothing happens. I have to click several times.
* when I sample and then click to stampl, the prior location I stamped has the clone applied
There are more, but this is to just give an example.
Notes:
* I have trashed preferences at least 20 times and the problem immediately reappears
* The problem happens in both the 32 bit and 64 bit version of PS running in Windows 7 65 bit
* The problem occurs with OpenGL tuned on and off
* I have installed the latest PC patch 11.0.1
* I have updated my latest NVidia drives. They are current.
* I uninstalled Photoshop (kept the rest of Suite) and that did not work, and the same problem reappeared. I am not uninstalling the complete suite but the reinstall has error (that is a separate issue)
* I have triple monitors running off 2 GeForce 9800 GT cards. These worked flawlessly before upgrading to the Windows 7 64 bit configuration. When I upgrades, I replaced the processor, motherbaord and moved to 12 GB ram. The graphic cards are the same.
Other tool issues:
* I have similar problems with the healing brush
* sometomes the text tool acts strange. I will click to enter text and a large area opens to enter text instead of just the cursor positioned ready for text. Then other times it works normally.
* the move tools sometimesacts strange. For example, if I try to move some test, the text jumps and moves of the image and I have to find it to drag it back on the image.

All I can say is... Boy am I glad I have an ATI card that just works (and that's including Photoshop CS4/CS5 32/64 bit)!
One thing I'm not sure was mentioned above... Try changing your Advanced OpenGL preferences to "Basic" or even turning off OpenGL to see if it affects the issue. Also try disabling the Show Overlay function in the CLONE SOURCE palette.
Best of luck getting to the bottom of these problems, guys. If they run on too long, consider switching brands.

Crop and Marqee Tool problems on CS4

When first launching CS4, the cropping and marquee tools work just like they should, but after a while of use, suddenly I can no long drag the selection to any size I want. I only seem to be able to select small sections using either the marquee or crop tool. If I restart PS it will work fine again for awhile and then fail again. I suspect it may be a memory problem. I have 4.5 gig or ram and am using 75% for PS. Anyone know what is causing this?
And by the way, what the heck happened to phone technical support? I had a phone support contract with Adobe, and the phone number for it has been disconnected. The new number provides no way to access that contract, and waiting times exceed 30 minutes!! What happened, Adobe going out of business?

Paint bucket, smudge and other tools missing

Sorry If I am completely stupid, but the last version I used was 3.0
Ok big problem I am so frusrated I can barely sit here anymore. I am looking at all my tools on the left hand side. I get to the tools by going to window-> tools out of all the tools, there is no smudge or paint bucket. who knows how many other tools are missing. so i went to help and find and typed in smudge and paint bucket and nothing.
I googled cs4 paint bucket and smudge and apparently there is such options for cs4. but there are NO icons in the tools. what do i do???

Oh i see, I hold down option and click blur and it will change to smudge and i hold option and click gradient and it will change it to paint bucket! Wow thank you soooo much! I have no clue why they didn't put that in help. Thanks!!!

I have been trying to start my subscription again for my Acrobat XI Pro and for the annual subscription of the PDF Export for Word and Excel. The PDF Export expired according to my subscription list, but, I think that I had cancelled my Acrobat XI Pro of $ 29.99 monthly, so, I am wanting to presubscribe for it again, but, when I try to put my Code in for my Debit Card, it will not register with your company.
So, I do not know what to do to get it back again with my monthly and annually subscription payments for PDF Export and for Acrobat XI Pro. I have already downloaded the Adobe Reader XI onto my computer so I am set for that product. I just do not know what to do about the PDF Export and the Acrobat XI Pro to be able to get them started once again.

Gee, I think it's catching on. I was VERY dissapointed when I wasted my money on the SB Li've! 24bit PCI. That card apparently isn't a Li've! card, it's got a different chipset. It performs horribly with games and there are no other drivers to use for it. Not even the Audigy 2 hack and the kX audo project will work with it. This is like the **bleep** child of all Sound Blasters. No support, no reasonable performance, and horrible drivers. I just joined this forum today and this is the 5th topic related to SB Li've! 24 bit issues that I've seen yet. And what does creative take into initiati've about it's Nothing. Indexing Issue : Idc Analyzer and other tools

Hi All,
I am facing some indexing issue with my ucm instance. Some of the files get stuck in wwGen Revision Status, some show “up to date” in index, but really are not until a re-index
happens, etc.
I used IDCAnalyzer to check the indexing issues but during analysis i got only an error pop-up saying "Error checking index" with no details in log.
Are there any additional arguments/settings which can be used to get the details. Otherwise, this tool doesn't seem to be of much help in this case.
Which are the other tools that can be used to check and correct the health of index?
How can we purge unneeded revisions, history, and other in UCM to “clean up” and remove bloat (like archiver etc.)
Note: I am using ucm 11g with SSXA.

Hi ,
Analyzer tool should be used when there is a mismatch in the weblayout / vault files which causes indexer , archiver etc to fail .

I believe it's because Windows which don't have a visible parent frame are, by default, not focusable. Therefore they're never activated or focused.
For the window to become focusable it needs a visible parent. Have a look at Window.isFocusableWindow method's Javadoc for information about how this works.
There's also no point trying to force the window to be focusable using setFocusableWindowState - it still won't work without the visible parent frame.
What's the problem with JPopupMenu? It seems unlikely that you'll write something better than that.
Alternatively, you could try using an undecorated JDialog. Personally, I'd try resolving your differences with JPopupMenu!

Difference between XML Publisher and Other tools like Aventx

Hi,
Please bear with my newbie question. From all the XMLP documentation that I have read, it seems like XMLP is the tool that I would need to distribute my ERP information either through print/fax/email etc. However, I have also been hearing about tools like Aventx which is a layer above XMLP and helps in delivering documents through fax/email etc.
What basically is the difference between XMLP and these other tools? Can I not just have XMLP sitting on top of my ERP and have my documents delivered without investing in these other 3rd party tools?

THe short answer is yes you could avoid the 3rd parties but, there is always a but. XMLP with extract the data, format the data and generate the ouput all completely integrated with the rest of the Apps techstack. However for the delivery you are going to have to write some custom code to get the documents out of the system i.e. we have not integrated the delivery of docs with the conc manager yet ... no I dont have a timeline at the moment. I wrote a series of articles on the blog about delivering from EBS http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher. Its not that tough but its a custom solution.
AventX and others fill that gap we have admirably. Yes, its a thrid party solution but its a very well thought out and integrated solution that they will support you on, etc.
So its up to you, custom or third party.

Rescue and Recovery tool - problem with recovering files stored on USB memory stick

I recently had to use the Lenovo Care Rescue and Recovery tool to restore my 300 N200 to a previously backed up state.
As part of the Rescue and Recovery I selected the option to save user data in My Documents to a USB memory stick before restoring to the backup. This seemed to be successful (tool confirmed that 300MB of files were saved). But when I wanted to restore the files from the USB memory stick back to the laptop none of the folders/files is visible.
I checked the memory status of the USB memory stick and this confirms that 300MB space is taken up - but no files visible!!!
Can anyone help??

Connect problems via SQLPLUS and other tools

I have installed an Oracle 10g Express database on my computer. I'm able to start the database as well as listener, and also login to the database. However, while trying to connect via SQLPLUS or PL/SQL developer, I get the following error message: ORA-12154 TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified. I also did a tnsping, but got the following error message: TNS-03505 failed to resolve name. I suspect that these 2 messages are somehow related to the problem. I set the following msdos variables: ORACLE_HOME=C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server. ORACLE_SID=XE. I also specified this in my registry. Also TNS_ADMIN is set to the following TNS_ADMIN=C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\NETWORK\ADMIN. On my computer I installed the XE client. I noticed that there are several tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora registered in several places.
I also have the Developer Suite installed on my computer but cannot access it. I think this is due to the aforementioned problem.
I would greatly appriciate advise in resolving this problem.

You have several Oracle Home's, so you may be trying to get the tnsnames.ora file from another location. You could either declare the XE entry at all used tnsnames.ora files or you should be consistent with the sqlplus client you are invoking. After the PATH environment variable you may be invoking a sqlplus executable located elsewhere but the XE Oracle Home, so this sqlplus will try to resolve the tns alias at the Home where this was invoked from.
I suggest you to verify your environment variables and make sure your path environment points to the XE oracle home and either reset your environment variables for your current session or invoke sqlplus with absolute path.

Updated to CC 2014 and lost Photomerge and other Functions

I updated PS CC to the latest version recently and now all of my Automate features such as Lens Correction, Merge to HDR and Photomerge do not work. I get the message: "Could not complete the Photomerge (Lens Correction, etc.) command because PS was unable to find the Javascript Plugin." Has anyone else run into this problem and if so, have you found a resolution? Everything worked fine before the update and I even tried uninstalling PS and re-installing, to no avail. I think I've seen that one other person has reported a problem like this here in the past few weeks. I don't recall a resolution, but if no one else chimes in with specific advice, it may be that an uninstall and reinstall might be in order (on the general assumption that something went wrong with the install).

Perhaps even before taking the "nuclear option" above, the "10,000 lb conventional bomb" option of resetting all your Photoshop preferences to defaults might be something to try: To do so, press and hold Control - Shift - Alt simultaneously immediately upon cold-starting Photoshop. If you get the keys down quickly enough - and you have to be really quick - it will prompt you to confirm deletion of your current preferences, which will lead to the establishment of a fresh default set. If it does not prompt you, you haven't been quick enough to get the keys down.
