Photomerge in Elements 8?

Please help. I just had a family reunion and I've got great shots that could use photomerging. I only see help for Elements 11 photomerge online. Is this available in Elements 8? I hope someone can help me make these photos really pop and last a lifetime! Thanks, Vickie

It's exactly the same in PSE 8, only located under the File menu in the editor.

Can't do manual photomerge in Elements 6

I upgraded from Elements 3 to 6 in order to use it with Leopard on a MacBook Pro. With Elements 3, when a photomerge did not work because there was not sufficient overlap, you could manually line up the photos. In Elements 6, I get a message that says "some images could not be automatically aligned." The 2 images I am trying to merge appear in layers, but only one appears in the bin and one appear. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to manually merge these 2. To add to my frustration, the help manual only gives help for doing it automatically and gives no information on how to do it manually and the guided section only gives steps on group shot and faces photomerge, zippo on panorama. Same with the Adobe knowledge base.
This is very frustrating! Any help would be much appreciated.

Photomerging in elements 11

I'm using photoshop elements 11 and trying to photomerge two group shots together from Christmas. I have 2 decent sized photos, both of good quality, done in RAW. My problem is when I'm done with the merge and ok it, the program is autimatically downsizing my photo to wallet size and of course by then, when I try to make it larger, the quality is poor. How do I stop the program from automatically doing this? Or, how do I make the wallet size bigger again?

Photomerge in Elements 13

Hi, I'm new to this bit but I'll give it a go.... I'm using Elements 13> enhance>photomerge>exposure. I adjust the image, it looks good, I click "done", the adjusted image just vanishes and isn't saved. Tried several times, same result each time. I must be doing something wrong but I don 't see any option to save the image anywhere else.

Why is Adobe continuing to ignore the many forum threads inquiring about this same problem? IMO, this issue continuing year-after-year (and version after version) represents irresponsible decision-making on the part of their Change Control Board / maintenance management, for such a fundamental operation as photo-stitching.
In particular, when the same two images can be merged successfully using any of a number of separate photo-stitch apps from other vendors, yet crashes Adobe Photoshop, then ipso facto, where do YOU think the blame lies?
In my opinion as a software programmer, an attempt to perform such a basic operation as merging two images, regardless of their size, should NOT cause a frickin' crash. Programmatically, this speaks to (a) poor memory management, and (b) terrible error-detection/handling/reporting.
By several accounts in those forum threads, this problem continues with the latest OS updates, the latest driver updates, the latest Adobe Photoshop updates/versions, more-than-adequate RAM, more-than-adequate disk space, etc., etc., etc. ... Crashing Adobe Photoshop is an unacceptable outcome for such a fundamental operation, even if one is working with photos that are truly of larger-than-normal size. It's COMPLETELY inexcusable when the images in question are of standard sizes produced by current-day camera technology. The workaround of resizing the original photos is an unacceptable option for someone who is attempting to maximize a print size without resolution loss.

Are you able to drag a source image into the editing window or select any of the tools e.g. pencil or eraser. If not use the menu in Expert mode and go to:
Edit >> Preferences >> General
Click the button “Reset Preferences on next launch”
Then close the application and re-start.
Let us know if that makes any difference.

When I hit Done nothing appears to happen, how can I save the merged file?

If the photomerge is successful, the merged image appears on your desktop. Since it doesn't sound like that's happening, first go to the editor preferences>general, click this button and restart the editor, then try again:

I'm trying to publish some pics to the internet but Elements automatically assigns a new filepath to completed panorama shots. I tried to change the path to jpeg but Elements balked at me. I cannot find my panoramas when using facebook's uploader. Any suggestions?

Save the pano to the desktop, then do a save as>jpg. PSE will force you to save it as a copy unless you flatten it before saving. Then upload the jpg.

Is there a possibility to photomerge in Elements 8?

You are here in the Photoshop Elements forum, not the CC forum, which is: Adobe Creative Cloud or the Photoshop one : Photoshop General Discussion
Photoshop Elements is a more basic software than CC and the user interface is different, that's why you don't access to Photomerge in the same way.

It's not clear from the title of your post if you are trying to do the Photomerge from Elements 13 or CC ?

CS4 photomerge cannot align my images- period...

I have downloaded the plug-ins and reset my preferences. Still: the message "some images cannot be aligned" and no suggestion on how to fix the problem. I have always successfully used CS3 toi merge edited tif files. Any other ideas except to reload CS3

Can you explain a little further what these plugins do? I guess the key here is Photomerge UI. I have CS5, and I sometimes miss the interactive alignment feature of the Photomerge from Elements. Interactive alignment is not possible via the Photomerge feature of CS5, although it is possible to move pictures around and auto-blend them. Would installing the Photomerge UI to my CS5 restore the interactive alignment feature of the Photomerge I had in Elements?

Getting error, "Could not fill because there is not enough memory (RAM)" , using elemrnts 10 photo

I am getting an error: Could not fill because there is not enough memory (RAM). I am using photomerge in elements 10, and this error happens at the end of photomerging photos. System requirements are 1 GB of RAM (2 GB for HD video functions). My system has 4 GB memory (3.74 GB usable), which should be enough. How large a system do I need to not get this error? Any other help would be appreciated.

Have you tried completing the pano without selecting edge fill. Then crop the result or use the clone stamp to fill the blanks.

I took 6 panorama shots of a scene and used CC to Photomerge them as one. Couldn't see where to automatic blend the edges and there was 'stitch' lines when the images were merged. So i did the same in Elements 11 and it was perfect. Am i doing something wrong in CC or perhaps not doing something at all?

Hi - Thanks for taking the time to reply and i appreciate the remarks- if a little harsh- we all have to start somewhere and i am fully aware of the limitations of Elements which is why i decided to add CC to my software. I can only say that if an inferior quality software from Adobe does the job well then CC must also be suited to doing the same which is why i can only think, from your comments, that i have not done something simple- however- following tutorials to get to the end result should have sufficed- it didn't so perhaps i will consider posting the difference between the two applications- and, perhaps suffer a few more 'harsh' comments. The learning curve is quite steep and i am a visual learner, but i'm also not totally incompetent:)

First a clarification: you are not addressing Adobe here in these user forums. You are requesting help from volunteers users just like you who give their time free of charge. No one has any obligation to answer your questions.
I'll give it my best shot anyway.
Few folks in this forum are really familiar with Elements, for which there's a dedicated, totally separate forum.
Different engineering teams, also.
From this perspective, it will be difficult to give you a direct answer to your "why?" question.
Personally, I blend very large panorama shots in Photoshop proper since I can't even remember when without any issues whatsoever, up to and including in Photoshop CS6 13.0.6.
Without being at your computer and without looking at your images, I couldn't even begin to speculate what you are doing wrong in Photoshop, which I suspect you are. The least you could show is post examples from your panoramas that have gone wrong.
I can tell you that panorama stitching requires significant overlap between the individual shots, besides common-sdense techniques like a very solid tripod and precision heads.
The only version of Elements I have ever used for any significant time was Elements 6 for Windows, which I bought in 2008 to use on a PC (I've been an avid Mac user for 30 years). I found Elements so limited and so bad that I successfully demanded a refund from Adobe. IU mention this only to emphasize that I can truly only address your question from a Photoshop (proper) and Mac user point of view. I couldn't care less about Elements, but if you have comparison examples of panoramas processed in both applications, by all means post those two.
Generally speaking Photoshop is a professional level application that makes no apologies for its very long and steep learning curve, while Photoshop has many hand-holding features for amateurs and beginners.
Perhaps the bottom line is that you should stick with Elements if you personally manage to get better results there.

Photoshop Elements 5 "Could not complete the Photomerge Panorama command because of a disk error"

It was working fine just yesterday! And only the photomerge is affected, the rest of the program works great...I turned off my computer after I receieved the error message and ran a disk check, but it found nothing wrong with my hard drive. So what gives? Do I need to reinstall? Is there some sort of update I need to install to make it compatable with Windows 7? (There was a similar update a few years back for Windows Vista users)
True, I mostly use CS5 now, but I still keep Elements 5 around because being able to manually place pictures into a panorama and retry rather than having Photoshop spit out two separate pano's stacked on top of each other is MUCH more convienient.

Well cn you try running the program in admin mode. Go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 5
There find PhotoshopElementsEditor file and right click on it, and select "Run as Administrator".
See if it works.
