Photomerge in Photoshop CS4E?

The Photomerge in Photoshop CS4E is a fantastic tool when it gets it right, but what can you do when it doesn't? I've got a bunch of 9 images (in a "Noughts and Crosses" or "Tic Tac Toe" layout), all with 50% overlap, but a lot of fairly blank areas - this can't be avoided, they are nautical charts.
When I do Auto Photomerge on these, a couple of the images get put in the wrong place. Is there a way to position the images in their approximate place, then get Photoshop to finish the job automatically?

Many thanks for that, it certainly helped. The plug-in let me position the layers in the right place, but of course I lost the ability to use "Auto". I had spent all afternoon doing it manually on one output file: locking layers, blending, saving and re-loading!
I think the manual mode will be good enough for the current project, but it's a pity you can't say - "this is roughtly where the layers go, now look again closely for the overlaps and finish it automatically"

Problem with Photomerge Exposure, Photoshop Elements 13?. Why does Photomerge Exposure not give me a finished DONE photo. If I open 2 photos, it will merge then, and when I press DONE I get a new photo file that I can save. However, if I open 3 photos, and go through the same process, the software analyzes the photos, I get a new image, BUT when I press DONE, the new image vanishes???? I can open the same 3 photos in Elements 8 and it works fine. any ideas please.

I, too, am having problems in version 11 with Photomerge Exposure. I can merge the 3 photos successfully with version 10. In version 11 when I click done, I am taken back to the Expert mode of the Editor but the merged photo in the photo bin is not accessible. When I first return to the editor, one of the original images (before merge) is selected. When I double/click on the merged photo it doesn't become the active image. In fact, any image I double click on momentarily becomes the active image and then jumps to another one.
The merged photo is visible in the photo bin but I can't select it.
I am running version 11 on my MacBook running OS 10.6.8

From the editor it's in the menu 'Enhance'
In the Organizer it's in the menu 'Edit'
The trial version is exactly the same as the final one.

Photomerge Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 (Editor) has stopped working

When starting photomerge I'm getting the above error message.
I un installed PSE 7.0 and re installed. Same problem.
Any ideas what could cause this problem.
Only change I saw was that Google Chrome was installed.

Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
Solution 1:
1. Close Elements.
2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
Solution 4:
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 6\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.

No direct access to Photomerge in Photoshop Elements 12 from Lightroom 5.2

Hi,
I just installed PE12 on my IMac (OS 10.8.5) and can not access directly the Photomerge module from Lightroom 5.2: the corresponding menu lines are inactive (dark grey).
On the other hand, I cant open the files in Elements from LR, and once there, the Photomerge module works properly.
Can anybody help?

Launch LR and on the top menu go to:
Lightroom >> Preference >> External Editing
Under Additional External Editor click the Choose button and make sure you navigate to the application and not an alias for the welcome screen.
Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 12/Support Files
In the Support Files Folder choose:
Photoshop Elements 12 Editor
Then select images in the Lightroom Library and use Cmd+E selecting either PSD or Tiff + Lightroom Develop Adjustments. Also choose 8 bits and not 16 bits as PSE has very little functionality with 16 bit images.

Photomerge causes Photoshop CS5 to crash

Whenever I click on File - Automate - Photomerge, Photoshop crashes. It happens with both 32 bit and 64bit versions.
Is there any easy solution ?

Graphics card is AMD Radeon HD6000 - I have loaded the latest driver and also tried going back a couple of versions.
I have also reloaded Photoshop.
Processor is Intel i7-3770 3.40Ghz. 16mb RAM. Windows 7 64bit.
I have 1920MB (59%) of RAM available to Photoshop and 560GB of scratch disk available.
I'm not sure how long I have had the Photomerge problem as I have only recently tried to use it. But I have also recently started getting what appears to be the quite common error "Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver and has temporarily disabled GPU enhancements". I have not found a cure for that anywhere.
I have searched for, but can not find sniffer - which seems to cause some GPU issues
I have a suspicion that the problem might be in the registry as I also had problems with network connections, which were solved with some regisrty editting suggested in another forum. It appears that some registry cleaners can add artifacts that disrupt networks. Once I removed those the unwanted elements the network worked fine. So I think maybe my registry cleaner may have made chnages that affect Photomerge.

My Lightroom 5 won't let me select "Photomerge in Photoshop 11"

I've uninstalled/reinstalled both programs, but it still won't work...

"Photoshop 11" may mean "Photoshop Elements 11".
I'm probably wrong, but I think you are asking Elements to do a Photoshop Pro CS6 CC function.
I think you can select multiple photos and then "Edit in PSE", but you have to get to PSE to do the Photomerge there.
If you are trying to do HDR, do yourself a favor and get Nik HDR Effects Pro 2 and run it at a LR plug-in.
Forgive my intrusion if I mistakenly assumed you are as cheap as I am and use PSE11.

Photomerge crashing Photoshop CS5

Everytime I attempt to open Photomerge, whether it's through Bridge or Photomerge, Photoshop crashes. Everything else within Photoshop seems to be working fine. I've seen where others are having this issue, but I couldn't find if there was a fix.

Also I seem to be having troubles with the updating software stalling out.
Any help on CS5 crashing and the solution would be greatly appeciated!

Photoshop CC Lightroom 5.4
Seit einigen Tagen kann ich mit Photoshop keine Panoramen mehr zusammensetzen lassen. PS hängt sich bei "Fortschritt" auf und nichts geht mehr. Egal, ob ich Photomerge über LR starte, oder direkt in Photoshop CC. Bis vor ein paar Tagen funktionierte noch alles problemlos.
Selbst nach einer Neuinstallierung war der Fehler noch vorhanden.
Selbst vor 2 Tagen erstellete Panoramen konnte ich heute nicht reproduzieren. Die Daten werden sich nicht selbstständig verändert haben. Weder dng-Daten noch Original Raws werden verarbeitet.

Photomerge in Photoshop CS6

I'm trying to photomerge a landscape panorama of portrait-oriented shots. CS6 lines them up vertically! I have merged these same photos successfully in CS5 so I know the overlap is adequate. What am I missing?

Thanks for the tip. At least this time I learned what the problem is -- an error message which had not popped up in Photomerge said there was not enough overlap. I don’t know why CS5 thought there was enough to work with. I would use the existing CS5 panorama for my project except I discovered I had made a dumb mistake and saved it at a poor resolution. I figured no problem, I’ll use the originals and have another go at it in CS6. Chalk it up to a learning experience. Using a different set of photos which had also been successfully merged in CS5 I tried both the Photomerge and Auto-align/Auto-blend methods and they both worked great. Thanks again.

Photomerge in photoshop elements 7

The photomerge path in PSE 7 is not active

I did a similar panoramic video project using stitched photos from PSE. However I did not exceed the maximum size (cant recall off hand what it is) and I had no quality issues when zooming and panning even for a 1920x1080 HDV export. If PE7 will not accept the file you will need to resize it. Have you looked at the different resizing options in PSE, Bicubic, Bicubic Sharpened etc to try to optimize the quality of the scaled photo.
Also remember if you are viewing on astandard TV the 720x480 resolution will limit the quailty anyway.

Photomerge in Photoshop breaking picture into 3 sections

I am using a trial copy of Photoshop and have been trying to make a panorama of 53 JPEGs varying in size from 5000 KB to 9000 KB. The photos that are stitched look great. However, the panorama is broken up into 3 sections.
Below is a screen shot--these are maps that I have created.
Canvas Size: What appears to be happening is that the merge program is not making a large enough canvas.
Image size. The original pictures are 300 dots per sq inch.

I've been trouble shooting and found the problem. It is with the maps pictures. Something was different between how the maps were compiled. I'm recompiling all of the maps. Photoshop is is doing an amazing job of stitching them together. The file is going to be very big. I hope I can get it printed. This is a screen clipping of my progress so far.

Voilà mon problème:
Quand je veux utiliser photomerge, je sélectionne 2 photos, j'ouvre prise de vue en groupe.
Là mes photos n'occupent pas la totalité du cadre.
Celle de droite (le fond) se place à droite, la seconde se place à gauche de son cadre.
Du coup les surperpositions de bouts d'images sont complètement décalées.
J'ai essayé de chercher un réglage quelconque mais je n'ai rien trouvé.

When I open "New" from the "File" in the menu I have only one option "Blank File"
Should I have the option to import the files I want to merge?
Can I correct this situation?

Error while trying to use Photomerge and stitch a few pictures with Photoshop CC 14 on Windows 8.1

I am getting an error while trying to merge some pictures together using photomerge in photoshop cc14, it says photoshop has encounter an error, and it closes photoshop after that, I cannot use photomerge at all, everything else works fine. Any help anyone???
