Photomerge Panorama in elements 13

Does anyone else have problems with getting Photomerge Panorama to open in Elements 13?

Why is Adobe continuing to ignore the many forum threads inquiring about this same problem?  IMO, this issue continuing year-after-year (and version after version) represents irresponsible decision-making on the part of their Change Control Board / maintenance management, for such a fundamental operation as photo-stitching.
In particular, when the same two images can be merged successfully using any of a number of separate photo-stitch apps from other vendors, yet crashes Adobe Photoshop, then ipso facto, where do YOU think the blame lies?
In my opinion as a software programmer, an attempt to perform such a basic operation as merging two images, regardless of their size, should NOT cause a frickin' crash.  Programmatically, this speaks to (a) poor memory management, and (b) terrible error-detection/handling/reporting.
By several accounts in those forum threads, this problem continues with the latest OS updates, the latest driver updates, the latest Adobe Photoshop updates/versions, more-than-adequate RAM, more-than-adequate disk space, etc., etc., etc.  ...       Crashing Adobe Photoshop is an unacceptable outcome for such a fundamental operation, even if one is working with photos that are truly of larger-than-normal size.  It's COMPLETELY inexcusable when the images in question are of standard sizes produced by current-day camera technology.  The workaround of resizing the original photos is an unacceptable option for someone who is attempting to maximize a print size without resolution loss.

  • Photomerge panorama in elements 7 problem, please help

Hello, I am having difficulty making a photomerge panorama with elements 7.  Here is how I am going about it:
I have 3 files saved as jpegs I want to stitch. I open a file from its location in My Pictures, minimize it, then do the same for the next two pictures.  I do this in order of left picture, center picture, right picture. Using  the small pane at the bottom of the elements window, I hold down ctrl and click each of the three open pics to select them.   Then I go to file and select new, photomerge panorama. A window pops up for making a new photomerge panorama, but nothing pops up staggered behind it--no new empty file screen or winows ocntaining my open files as I have seen in the tutorials). I leave it on auto and click add open files. All three titles show up in the window. Then I click OK. Nothing happens. There is no new file window for it to create a panorama in. I do not get an error messae. Just nothing as if I made no command. Can anyone tell me how to correct what I am doing to make it work?
    Thank you

    Juergen_d- thank you.
All I needed to do was stop minimizing the photos to the bin. When I left them all open on the elements desktop, it worked seemlessly. Amazing- thank you!

Was working fine until last week then suddenly this started happening every time I attempt to run Panorama. Other Photomerge functions appear to be working okay, just a problem with Panorama.

  • Elements 10 stops working when starting Photomerge - Panorama

I have selected two photos and then went to File, New, Photomerge-Panorama.  The program starts then I get a message that the program has stopped working and I should close it.  I have tried to start the Panorama from the Organizer and from the Editor with the same results.  I can use the Editor for other editing and it works normally.
The two photos were obtained from my scanner.  I scanned a large document and saved the scans as JPEG files.  I have done this previously and have made panoramas of other photo series and it has worked.
I have Windows 8.1.  I don't think I have tried to make panoramas since I went to Windows 8.1

I had the same problem with Photomerge panorama (PS Elements 9) on my new Windows 8.1 HP laptop.
I found a post over on a thread about CS5 talking about dual video graphics drivers. My laptop has both Intel and Nvidia chips and drivers, and after I disabled the Nvidia driver in Windows Device Manager, so that I use only the native Intel graphics, Photomerge Panorama comes up fine. My external big monitor looks crisper with the Nvidia graphics enabled, but I can re-enable that easily after I am done with Photomerge.

  • Photomerge panorama

I have bought a new laptop and installed Elements 9 which was on my previous laptop and worked fine. Now I can't do Photomerge panoramas. Elements stops working. All the preferances are the same. Help

I don't remember if I did disable Norton on install the first time, but just in case, I disabled Norton 2009, then uninstalled PSE7 and reinstalled it. Same problem--when I choose panorama and browse for my three photos, the auto panorama that is created is just the middle picture. If I try to do it interactive, it goes through the motions and then goes back to blank editor. Any other advice?

  • Photomerge panorama not working in elements 11

    Hi:
I cannot make the photomerge panorama function work in elements 11. It simply
generates the standard Window 7 error message and when it can't find a solution
the program closes. In previous versions ( 9 and 10) it always worked and never
    caused a problem.
Attempting to rebuild the preferences file as suggested for a similar problem affecting
earlier versions was also done but to no avail. Its a function I use quite frequently so
until it is resolved I will keep using version 10.
Anyone have a solution for this anomaly??
    Michael

The error message pops up right away and is generated by Windows not PSE.  The java script that generates the familiar combo box that gives you the various panorama options for merging doesn't even have a chance to get started.  The scripting support plugin is in Photoshop Elements 11>Required>Plug-Ins>Automate.  This location is a change from the previous versions.
    Thank you
    Michael

    ELHID labs,
As your question applies to Photoshop Elements, I will Move your post there. Your links and any e-mail subscriptions will follow perfectly.
Also, I think that Steve G. and Neale have given you some great direction to getting your Panorama "stitching" working for you.
    Good luck,

  • How to run photomerge panorama in ps elements 10

When starting photomerge-panorama in ps elements 10 the program shuts down itself with the notification that is does not work anymore. All other photomerge functions however are working fine.
    What to do?

    Hi,
The version of Camera Raw that you reported should support the S100 CR2 images.
If you load the editor, go to the File menu and select Open, then point to the file, are you saying that it displays the error message?
Have you tried opening the file with Canon's Zoombrowser?
Which operating system are you running on?

  • Elements 9 stops working when I try to use Photomerge Panorama - Windows 8.

Photoshop Elements 9 is functioning with Raw or Jpeg image adjustments, but not when I try to use Photomerge Panorama.  Message to say: P E has Stopped Working.  A problem caused this programme to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the rpgramme and notify you if a solution is available.
I have uninstalled the programme and re-installed but same problem.

I have PS Elements installed on Windows 7 and when I go to File/New/ the "Photomerge Panorama" is grey and not available to use, while all the other Photomerge options are available.

    thanks,

You need to select mulitple images to make panaroma. Try selecting few images and see if the option is enabled.

  • Photomerge Panorama crashes in PS Elements 10

I've finally found some time to try some panoramas using Elements 10 and it crashes every time I select Photomerge Panorama. I'm using Windows 8.1 on a fast laptop with updated drives and D drive as the selected scratch drive. A bit of an internet search has revealed this to be a common problem without a posted fix. I would have figured a patch or a bug fix would have been released by now. I've tried finding a contact number to discuss this matter with Adobe but keep getting routed to this forum for assistance. I'm frustrated that I've been sold a program that very clearly doesn't deliver what it claims to. Am I expected to now purchase a new edition of Elements in the hope that the Pano feature will work or does someone have a better solution?

I have the same problem; like you, even with completely updated drivers.

Is it possible to perform a photomerge Panorama using Adobe Photoshop Elements 13?

    Barbara,
The step I was missing was to change the mode via the control button at the top of the user interface from "Quick" to "Expert". Under the "Quick" mode Photomerge Panorama is grayed out. Thank you for your input!
