Photomerge Panorama not initiating in PSE7

After reading many other threads on problems with Photomerge Panorama in PSE7 I wasn't able to find one that had the same problem with me.
When I add the selected pics to the Organizer and choose Photomerge Panorama, a new Editor window opens with the select pics shown along the bottom with an additional blank file called Untitled_Panorama1. The process then stops here. No error message pops up or anything.
I am running Windows 7 with 4 gb of ram. Any help would be appreciated!

There's nothing out of the ordinary about that image size, either.  I don't have PSE7 installed, and I didn't find any troubleshooting information about panoramas and PSE7 when I searched the Adobe website, so I can't offer any more advice.
I think you'll be impressed with that Microsoft program.
If you're thinking about purchasing PSE10, you might want to wait another month until the new version is released.

  • PSE 8 - Photomerge Panorama not working?

Trial version (is Panorama disabled in trial?), XP, default preferences
File->New->Photomerge Panorama and select either 2 open files or 2 files off disk.    Tried Auto reposition, manual , and in both cases, the program thinks for a couple seconds and then shows me an empty file on screen (checkerboard) entitled Untitled_Panorama1.
Tried a series of different photos, and have done this before in PSE7 with no trouble, so this is puzzling.
    Is this a bug?

John, I want to add some other information for you concenring this problem with Photomerge Panorama in PSE 8 that you have been looking into, as I too get the error message you detailed in your earlier comments on this problem.  I tried your solution (saving for the web) and found that it did work but, of course, it is a pain having to do this workaround. Then, quite by chance I found that Photomerge Panorama was working correctly and so I tried several files, some of which had not worked before!
Tonight, the old problem returned and I have been able to replicate both the problem and the solution.  If I have the Organiser open (which I must) but not the Editor, then it works fine. If I then try to do another panorama with new files, then it usually throws up the error message and fails to work. Any further attempts with the image files (or previous ones that have worked) also fail, ending with the error message.  However, if I close the application completely, and then reopen it, the same files will work perfectly with Photomerge Panorama.
Maybe this throws some new light on the cause for you? (and hopefully Adobe if they read this posting).   Is it a memory problem?   (I have 1 GB of RAM)
    It is certainly very odd.
On another matter, but kind of memory/processor related, although I doubt if you will remember this, but last year when PSE 7 was announced but before it was available, I queried the processor spec moving up to requiring a 2GHz processor  (it was a huge leap in spec from previously required processors and also not a size much then available for PC Notebook users!
You kindly advised that you thought it was more a case of "sloppy marketing" which seemed to be borne out by some later advice that I received and sent you and others from Adobe Technical suppoort.  Recently, when I saw that PSE 8 required a 1.6 GHz or faster processor (the website spec sheet) I was pleased and thoughtful!  Today, my purchased copy of PSE8 arrived. (I have been using a free trial version). Guess what, on the box the processor specification is "2 GHz or faster"  So now we have either another case of "sloppy marketing" or perhaps, it DOES need 2 GHz and maybe this is the problem/part of the problem with Photomerge Panaroma not functioning correctly/consistently?
Maybe though, it IS just a bug and one that I really hope that Adobe can address and rectify AND thsat we don't have to wait until PSE 9.  That would be very, very poor.
How do you report bugs/possible bugs to Adobe or will you further report the issue, assuming that you can replicate what I have found with Photomerge Panorama?
Hope this posting is helpful to you and others experiencing this problem with PSE 8
    Kind regards

  • Photomerge Panorama not working

Okay, I posted this in the tips and techniques forum, but am getting no responses--and I believe it is a technical issue anyway.
I recently purchased PSE7 and am trying to make a panorama out of 3 pictures. I choose new-photomerge panorama and get a couple outcomes. If I choose auto--the "finished" result after the program chugs and flips through the pictures and looks as if it is working turns out as a "panorama" of only the middle image. Oh and it's 4x6 of just that middle picture. So, I try and choose the interactive panorama, choose my three pictures, it chugs and flips through pictures like it's doing something and then goes to a blank editor screen. That's it.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software--twice. Someone posted that PSE doesn't play well with Norton, so I uninstalled and reinstalled. Still didn't work, so I tried again, using KB articles from Adobe on what files to manually uninstall, etc. For the reinstall, I installed in Clean Boot mode on my XP system.
So, what now--why is the panorama portion of the software not working? If I contact Adobe will they be able to figure it out or are they just going to tell me to uninstall/reinstall which I've already done?? Please help!

    >> If I choose auto....turns out as a "panorama" of only the middle image.
If this is the case then maybe the images you are using to create the panorama are not clicked for this purpose. To create panorama using auto feature you should use images which have some degree of overlap between the images.
In case you still want to create a panorama with images that were not clicked with this aim, you use the 'interactive' feature.
    >> and then goes to a blank editor screen.
Do you mean that the images selected by you don't appear in the image strip as well?
I suggest you go through PSE7 help link for Photomerge panorama. http://help.adobe.com/en_US/PhotoshopElements/7.0_Win/WSae2ea3b149d0c3591ae939f103860b3d5 9-7fcf.html
In case you find PSE behaving differently from as described in the help file then there might be a problem.
Let us know in either case.

  • Photomerge panorama not working in elements 11

    Hi:
I cannot make the photomerge panorama function work in elements 11. It simply
generates the standard Window 7 error message and when it can't find a solution
the program closes. In previous versions ( 9 and 10) it always worked and never
    caused a problem.
Attempting to rebuild the preferences file as suggested for a similar problem affecting
earlier versions was also done but to no avail. Its a function I use quite frequently so
until it is resolved I will keep using version 10.
Anyone have a solution for this anomaly??
    Michael

The error message pops up right away and is generated by Windows not PSE.  The java script that generates the familiar combo box that gives you the various panorama options for merging doesn't even have a chance to get started.  The scripting support plugin is in Photoshop Elements 11>Required>Plug-Ins>Automate.  This location is a change from the previous versions.
    Thank you
    Michael

  • PS Elements 8 on Windows 7 - Photomerge Panorama not available

I have PS Elements installed on Windows 7 and when I go to File/New/ the "Photomerge Panorama" is grey and not available to use, while all the other Photomerge options are available.
How do I make it available?
    thanks,

You need to select mulitple images to make panaroma. Try selecting few images and see if the option is enabled.

  • Photomerge panorama not activated

At the moment I am testing Potoshop Elements 9. I would like to test the Photomerge Panorama function. But it ist not activated in the menu either is it available in the edit area.
How can I get to it?

    Nemo,
The Photomerge Panaroma only works when you are in the Full Edit mode or the "vollständig" mode. It will not work under the Quick ("schnell") or the Guided ("geführt") mode.

  • Photomerge panorama PSE7 wrong image order 360 view

    Hi,
I have been using PSE7 and photomerge panorama for over a year on Windows XP with no problems.  Recently I tried stitching together eight images which formed a 360 view.  The problem is the resulting panorama is in the wrong direction, or image order.  To clarify, the eight images were taken left to right of an ocean view from a forest bluff, with my back to the sun.  So the sun is shining through the trees behind me, and image 1 is trees on the left side, image 2 is trees and ocean, with 3 and 4 being the ocean center and 8 being trees on the right side.  The images are titled 1 thru 8, and they are ordered in the dialog box 1 thru 8.  No matter what I do, all the photomerge panorama functions, except interactive, reverse the image order making the sun coming through the trees the center of the panorama, and not the ocean.  So the panorama I get is always 4 thru 8, 1 thru 3 not the 1 thru 8 that I selected.  All images were taken on a Canon G10 with 30% overlap for each image, on a tripod, no change in focal length, but some small variation in exposure.  My only solution is to use the interactive feature, but the results are not nearly as good as using auto or cylindrical.  The perspective option does not work because it is a 360 view.
Thank you to those who have read my mini essay to this point, and an even bigger thank you in advance if you can help me solve this challenge.  So far I have not found this issue in any other post.
    Cheers,
    Ryan

Now that you mention it I've never seen any way to specify which image is leftmost.
You could create a slightly less than 360 degree pano, then merge the last image in separately...  I suppose you'd still chance it going in on either end though.
Sure seems like a feature they definitely should have included.

I bought Adobe Elements 12; I cannot use panorama photomerge, I have followed the directions to go to Full Edit  mode in edit workspace> choose File> New> Photomerge. However the Photomerge does not work, it does not respond.
The only thing I can come up with is that I found a blog that said that in the Trial version Photomerge does not work, however I do Not have the Trial version, I did at one time but I purchase Adobe Elements. Thank you.

The blog was incorrect. Photomerge should work in the trial, too.
When things get weird in PSE the first thing to do is to delete the prefs. Go to the editor preferences>general, click this button and restart the editor:

  • PSE 11, Panoramic Photomerge is not in the pull-down window

    Hi everyone:
I just purchased the upgrade from PSE 9 to PSE 11 for the Mac. I was having "glitches" when doing Panoramic Photomerge; sometimes the file photos I chose to merge would be ignored by the program and it would never even open them. At least in PSE 9, when I opened the program - the pull down Panoramic Photomerge selection was there.
The glitches got me thinking: maybe I was having a problem due to the fact that the program was an older version? Okay, let's upgrade and see if the newer PSE 11 is even better!  Interestingly enough, when opening PSE 11 - the Panoramic Photomerge selection isn't even present in the software. From what I can tell from the tutorials - it's still a feature available - just not my download. Help!!! I have no idea what to do to fix it. I see no error codes or anything like that; it's like the features doesn't exist on my machine.
Anything anyone can recommend would greatly be appreciated. I really love the Panoramic Photomerg feature.
    Jeff

They got it partially right. If you go to Help> Photoshop Elements Help and enter panorama in the search box you get a page of links.
The first link (http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/using/stitching-together-panoramas.html) as you say tells you to look under the File menu (as does the fourth).
The second link (http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/getting-started/photomerge-panorama.html) correctly describes the Enhance menu path.
And of course in the Organizer it appears under the Edit menu. The lot of a product documentation writer is not a happy one

  • Error 22: Window does not have a constructor. when opening photomerge . panorama ??????

Whats up???   Error 22: Window does not have a constructor. when i select photomerge / panorama on my imac.    ( elements 11)

Try resetting the PSE preferences by
       1. Close Elements.
       2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
       3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
One of the similar threads is found here http://forums.adobe.com/thread/622755 which is for Photoshop but should work for PSE as well.
    Thanks,
    Garry

  • Both elements 9 and elements 122 trial version will not photomerge panorama on my new Toshiba laptop

Both elements 9 and the trial version of elements 12 will not allow me to use photomerge panorama. With elements 12 it is shown in grey on the drop down menu

Are you using Windows 8? You may need to enable DirectPlay under legacy features in 8.1. from the Windows Control panel
Control panel >> Programs >> Programs and Features
Click on: Turn windows features on or off.
N.B. Microsoft does not recommend turning on legacy features in Windows 8 which they say may impair performance but others have found this to work.

Photomerge panorama used to work. But I tried it today witout success.
I enter all the pics I want, I click ok.
PSE starts working but at the end, no image shows up and my initial images are also closed.
PSE is now at the same state as if I had just opened it without any pics showing.

Try to reset the preferences for PSE by following below steps :

Launch PSE and try the panorama again.

  • PSE7 Photomerge Panorama Error

    -> var w = new Window(res);
    Anyone have any ideas?
I'm running Windows XP with a 22" LCD widescreen display.
Any help would be much appreciated

Had this problem for a long time tried all sorts of solutions non worked. Eventaully managed to extrct from a adobe a tech support phone number, so in desperation I rang the number , sprise suprise India.
Whilst the engineer was researching the problem on his computer with me on hold I decided to start up PSE7 and get the editor up ready to try it and report the exact wording of the report message that comes up when you try to use panorama.
To my complete suprise it now worked properly, so I tried it by shutting it down once or twice whilst I still had the engineer and it was consitantly ok. have tried it for a few days since and still working!!!
What tyhe connection is I dont know nor does he but sufficent to th end result. Its worth a go.
