Photos and i-pads

I can upload photos from SD card to i-pad that have just been taken, but cannot upload any photos that I 'send' to the sd card from my laptop photo files. any ideas?

The photo files on an SD card need to be in a specific folder and the file names are limited to a certain format. A digital camera saving files to an SD card does this automatically, hence the iPad is able to read these and upload them. Simply transferring photo files from your laptop to the SD card does not allow the iPad to see these files for uploading, as you have discovered.
I send photo and video files (jpegs and mpeg movies that are in iPad compatible format) from my laptop to my iPad all the time using one of the WiFi wireless syncing apps. Works like a charm. Search App store and you will find several. I like PhotoSync the best. Just a couple of bucks but worth it.

I have one album named "iPad". I don't recall how it got there, where it is there by default or if I created it. Nothing in this album shows a trash can in either full or thumbnail view - I can only edit or share or add to.
In full view mode, when I click on "edit" the upper left shows "cancel". The other greyed out options next to "cancel" are "undo" and "revert to original". The bottom shows the usual photo editing tools, but no "edit". Most of the other pictures show the trash can, which is located on the bottom right corner in camera roll in full view mode. In thumbnail mode when I click "select" on the upper right corner and choose a photo the trash can appears on the upper left corner". This all seems normal. However, the "iPad" album behaves different.

Set up as New now, or set up from iCloud back up if you have this. Then you can Restore from Back Up on iTunes at a later time.

Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
Note:
Also consider Deleting any Apps you have Purchased / Downloaded but you now never use...

If you have a back up either in iTunes or in iCloud before you deleted the pictures, then you can restore that back up back on your iPhone. Also note you will not have anything that you have currently on your iPhone, as it will remove the current data and put what the back up had on it. If you where using iCloud and using Photo Stream, make sure you are on Wi-Fi and have closed out the Camera app as it will prevent it from uploading the photos.

My original I Phone 5 was running IOS 6.12
My I phone 5S currently runs IOS 8..When I upgraded it, it had IOS 7 on it which made the I Photo app compatible with everything below IOS 8...( which the photo app is not compatible with ) so I just connected the I Phone 5S to my computer and thinking the new phone had IOS 7 on it that these was nothing to worry about..I thought all 900 + pictures in the photo stream would transfer but somewhere in the process, I Tunes decides to just go and install IOS 8 which requires that you run a " Photo Migration App" to transfer photos from IOS 7 & below. The problem was is that I didn't want IOS 8 on my new 5S so I thought I wouldn't have to do that part..
Anyway the phone emerged with IOS 8 on it and the only photos that remained were the ones that were actually on the phone..The 900 + I had in the stream didn't transfer because the Photos that works on IOS 7 and below isn't compatible with IOS 8..I guess you have to use the photo migration app that comes with IOS 8 & I phone 6..But I didn't ask to upgrade to IOS 8...It just did it on it's own!
I still have the I Phone 5 Back up that I did just before giving it back to Verizon but if I try to restore the I Phone 5S running IOS 8 those photos in the stream will not go back on the phone because IOS 8 isn't compatible with the I Photos" that ran on IOS 7 and below..
So I have an I Pad mini that runs IOS 7..should I try and erase it...and put that I Phone 5 backup on it and pray the photos that were in the stream come back on it so I can transfer them back to my computer...then erase the I pad mini again and restore it using it's original backup that I have on the computer and the in the cloud?

HP TouchPad Photo and Videos

I'm having trouble with my Photos and Videos app on my HP Touch pad. When I open the app I get lines that look like match sticks instead of my photos. I had this trouble once before and I had the Geek Squad over and they fixed it within a few minutes. Wish I had taken notes. Any help would be much appreciated! Bill

The first step in troubleshooting and electronic device is a restart. Have you tried this?
Power it off/on, or hold the power button and center buttons together for about 15 seconds or more until you see the HP logo. Release the button.
Check to see if the pictures show correctly.

Photo and video

My ipad2 can not play .mov movie file when I transfer them via memory card reader from my camera? Very disappointing that was the only reason I bought my iPad 2 to have my photo and video on my iPad. Photo is no problem but too small when you want to import them and you have no option to pick and choose the right photo.
Also I bought iMovie which I think is rip off because I can not make movie with my video that I take from my recent nikon camera with .mov format.
My girlfriend has blackberry pad and have no problem. I hate restriction, I did not waited to rent this pad i bought and It cost me close to $1100 so why do I have restriction.

When your data (everywhere- computer, phone, pad) deleted you normally restore it from back up. Find if and where you backed it up and restore from that backup.

Try to unfreeze it by doing a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!
