Photos and iPhone recognised by Windows

For a while now when the iPhone is plugged to my laptop, the laptop itself doesn't find it in My Computer but iTunes syncs it fine - this means I'm unable to sync my photos onto the laptop.
However, having wiped and restored my phone it re-uploaded the old pictures I had before wiping so the laptop must have backed them up somewhere.
I have tried reinstalling iTunes to no avail.
How can I sort this issue?

In Control Panel> Hardware and Sound> Devices and Printers it states under Unrecognised an Apple Mobile Device USB Driver, when clicked on it give information about the phone. But it doesn't show in my Computer so I can't access the data on the phone.
My camera roll has all sorts of images from photos, screen shots and emails but I can't get a hold of them.
I went into the Apple shop today and the lady said access it through iTunes in the left hand drop down menu when the phone's connected, but no such thing for photos appears and the toppermost tab is to sync with photo folders.
It's been maybe a few weeks since my laptop has had the pop up when a data storage device is connected for the iPhone but nothing on the laptop has changed.
How do I perform the scanner and camera wizard?

Before i can transfer all my Photos and videos from iphone to pc but when i updated my itunes to version 10 no autoplay popped up window and my pc doesnt detect the portable device/iphone anymore. Transfer Photos from iPhone to PC:
On a Windows PC the easiest way to get pictures from your iPhone is to just use Windows Explorer, but there’s two ways to go about this:
Plugin your iPhone to the computer without iTunes running
Wait for a popup asking you what you want to do with the device
Select “View Content”
Find your photos through the folders that are displayed
Copy in Windows as usual
If your iPhone is already plugged into your PC, you can try this method:
Plugin your iPhone to your PC
Open “My Computer”
Find your iPhone, it will appear as any other camera would
Open iPhone to find your Photos
Select the pictures you want to copy to your computer and copy/paste them into the desired location on your PC

If you are using Windows 7, the moment you connect the photos to your computer Windows 7 should ask "What would you like to do with this device" click Import photos. Windows should automatically import all the photos and save it in the folder called "My Pictures". Another way would be going to My Computer >> Portable Devices >> Apple iPhone.
Open that, and you will see "Internal Storage", inside the DCIM folder you will find all your photos and videos.

Step by step toturial on How to transfer photos from iphone to Mac:
1.Connect the device to your computer. iPhoto should automatically launch into its import window with your device's images and videos listed.
2.Click Import All. If you want only some of your images imported, select the images and videos you would like to import into iPhoto, then click the Import Selected button.
3.When the photos finish importing, you will be presented with a dialog asking whether you'd like to delete the original photos from your Camera Roll. Click Delete Photos.

I connect my USB into the right hole and my computer accepts it at first to start looking for photos and videos then, a message comes up saying there are no photos and videos on my iPod. How did the photos get on the iPod?
If they are not in the iPod's Camera Roll album (e.g., synced to the iPod), you need a third-party program like TouchCopy or PhoneView

Just updated iPhone 5 to ios7. Now when I plug in, iTunes does not download photos, and iPhone is not showing as a hard drive on my computer. Windows used to have a pop up to download photos, which is no longer there. iTunes is updated and iCloud isoff

I also recently installed Norton 360, but that was eliminated via Norton Help. They remoted in, removed Norton 360 and problem persisted - iPhone did not show on the "Computer" window, and no pop-up to download photos even with no antivirus installed. Norton help advised to uninstall and reinstall iTunes, which seemed a bit excessive. Any other fixes I can try before an uninstall and reinstall?

Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. ipod 4 is stuck on connect to itunes screen and itunes or windows will not recognise that its connected. My iphone connects straight away so its not the pc.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

Is there a method to transfer photos directly from an iPhone 4S/ios 6 to a Dell Laptop running Windows 7. My Dell laptop is a work computer and therefore, I can not download any software on it without company approval.

iTunes doesn't allow use to copy photos/songs from iPhone to computer, it conly let you copy from computer to iTunes or device, But you can use Vibosoft iPhone/iPad/iPod to computer transfer or iStonsoft iPhone to computer transfer app, both of them can export everything from device to computer.
I agree with your, I also used Vibosoft program to copy songs from my iPhone 5c to computer, it export over 700 songs from my iPhone to laptop within 7 min, really nice!

Problem trying to sync IPAD2 and IPhone 4 with windows XP Laptop

When I plug the Ipad into the USB on the laptop, Itunes starts and a sync process tries to start. It proceeds to step 2 of 7 and seems to stop its progress there.
I check the Windows task manager and I see that ITUNES.exe and AppleMobileDeviceService.exe are each using 50% of the processor resources. This continues and the SYNC never goes to step 3 of 7.
I read on line that others had a problem after the upgrade to the new Safari software. I uninstalled Safari and the problem continues.
The same thing happens when I try to SYNC my IPhone 4.
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
I am happy with the performance of the IPAD and the IPhone 4 as individual products but not with the interface options with my PC environment products.
These are new purchases and they are me first experience with Apple products. So far, I am not impressed.

The default locations for catalog folders on Wndows 7 is the same as on Vista:

To find out where the current catalog folder is located, do Help > System Info.
The default locations for photos are under My Pictures on Windows 7, as compared to Pictures on Vista.

Photo Upload with WD photos and iphone 8.3

Has anyone else have issues with trying to send all your photos. We we select all photos it can upload between 70 and 100 then it stops. Then you have to start again.
