Photos are not showing up in my photo stream

Cannot see pictures on my photo stream . It says my photo stream is empty but I have lots of pictures. All sharing buttons are on and I'vv backed it up.

Photos from your camera roll are only added to photo stream after you turn it on.  Photos in the camera roll prior to turning on photo stream are not uploaded.  Also, photos are only held in photo stream for 30 days.  After that they are deleted from your photo stream but will remain on your device until you delete them.
If the photos you are looking for in photo stream are either older than 30 days, or were in your camera roll prior to turning it on, this is why you aren't seeing them.

After migrating data from Time Machine, some of my photos are not showing up in iPhoto LIbrary view. I get a 'dashed rectangle." When I click on it I get ' ! in a Triangle" When I click on that, I actually can see the photo. I want to see all  my photos in 'Library' view, and I can't figure out how these photos seem to be arbitrarily hidden. Help, please.

Try these for the first attempt:
First be sure to have a backup copy of the library if you already don't have one.

  • My photos are not showing up as layers in the layers panel, only as one layer, so I can't make any changes to the layers.  Does anyone know why this is happening?  Am I downloading them from my camera wrong?

My photos are not showing up as layers in the layers panel, only as one layer, so I am not able to make changes to the layers.  Does anyone know why this is happening?   Am I downloading them from my camera wrong?  I have watched the video and the photos don't open that way on my layers panel. Any help would be appreciated, I would like to edit out the background and turn it a different color.

Photos from cameras or scans have only one layer (the 'background' layer).
You can start with that 'background' layer and duplicate it or add other layers in the editing process. For instance you can make a selection of a subject and put it on another layer; a common use is to desaturate the 'background' and to keep the color in the selected subject in your newly created layer.

  • Some of my earliest photos are not showing on my phone after updating to iOS7. They can be seen in the app "over" which allows for art and lettering to be placed on a photo but I can not find an album for photos before 2012.

Some of my earliest photos are not showing on my phone5 after updating to iOS7. They can be seen in the app "over" which allows for art and lettering to be placed on a photo but I cannot find an album or year for photos before 2012 (in the photo app). The iphone says the photo content is there when I check in "about" under general in settings. So the pictures seem to be somewhere but I just can't access from from the photo app. Any suggestions. I also know that they were there before the iOS7 upgrade as I was looking for a pre 2012 picture last week and it we there.

  • Mountain Lion, photos are not showing up in photo stream

I recently installed Mountain Lion, now photos are not showing up in photo stream on the computer.  What should I do?

Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.

  • My edits in LR 5.4 are not showing up on the photos in the parent folder?

When I open my photos directly from the parent folder on my computer the edits/corrections I made in LR are not showing up, the photos are the original imports?  The photos in the parent folder are renamed as they were in LR.   I'm almost positive the photos in the parent folder showed the edits and corrections prior to LR 5.4.  Does anyone have suggestions?

That's the way Lightroom works. You will not see the edits you made in Lightroom when viewing your photos via your operating system.
To see your edits, you need to browse your photos in Lightroom, or if you want to see your edits outside of Lightroom, you must use File->Export in Lightroom to create an exported version of your photo, which will show your edits outside of Lightroom.

  • Photo Count is Correct But Photos are not Showing

I just imported my old photos to iPhoto. All 19,000 of them. Photo shows correct number of photos but when I look at the photo view area, not all the photos are there. But there's an album that appeared below where I can view the new photos i just transferred. How is it that they are not showing in the Photo are but shows on an album? Faces still running. Will it show after Faces is done?

but when I look at the photo view area, not all the photos are there.
    What do you see?

  • I'm editing a video in imovie '08 and adding iphotos to the movie, but some of the photos are not showing. Help

I'm editing the video of a presentation one of my clients has delivered, I'm adding the  slides of the presentation in as photos from iphoto, the problem is that some of the photos are now showing up in the video even though they have been added. Also where photo number 7 should be it is showing photo number 12? I really need to sort this out and need help. How do I get the photos to show and show properly in the right place?
    Thank you in advance

I've got a list of things to look at and tryout to see if we can narrow down what's happening. Try any one in any particular order see if the problem keeps happening.
    1. What format are the original photos in?
    Are the all the same?
If they are different, do some work and others do not?
File formats that are “raw” may be a problem.
File size may also be a problem if they are very large files.
    2. Duplicate the project in the Project Library
Try dragging a photo into that copy of the project
Any differences? If you can import photos into the Duplicate, try copying then pasting into the original and see if the image shows up.
    3. Duplicate a picture inside of iPhoto
If you want to have a particular picture and can find it within iPhoto try making a duplicate.
Does it show up in the Photo browser? And can you drag that duplicated picture into the project? What do you see, what result do you get?
    4. Clean the iMovie cache
Quit out of iMovie. Then go to your Movies Folder > iMovie Events >  Project folder name
Drag the folder "iMovie Thumbnails" to your trash. Then open the folder "iMovie Cache" and drag the file "Cache.plist" to the trash.
This should regenerate any cached thumbnails for the project, may be helpful.
    5. Try tossing out the iMovie preferences
    Quit iMovie.
Open a Finder window to your user's Home folder>Library >Preferences folder. Find the file named "com.apple.iMovie.plist" or "com.apple.iMovieAppl.plist" and move it to the trash.
Try opening iMovie again, then opening the project and dragging a photo from the Photo Browser into the Project timeline.

  • Imported and deleted photos are always showing up as "new photos"

    recently iphoto is acting strange:
photos that i have previously imported from my iphone into iphoto (and then subsequently deleted) are constantly showing up as "new photos" when i connect the iphone to iphoto.
why is it getting confused like this, and how can i fix this so i don't have to manually select the photos i want to import every time.
normally it would always recognise which photos were in fact "new" and not show old photos in the "new photos" section.
    any help much appreciated.
i am using iphone 5 with latest OS, and iphoto 11 (9.2.3)

iPhoto is showing you all photos on the card, that are not in your Photo Library. It does not remember, that they once had been in the library.

  • My photos are not showing up

After fixing the screen on my iphone, I opened up my photo albums on my phone and there were no photos! The albums were still showing up and the photos are still using/taking up the memory on my phone, however I cannot see the photos anywhere. The photos do not display on icloud either. How can I get these photos back? I know they are there because they are taking up all my memory, I just can't see them.

If your camera roll is empty, the only way to recover them would be to restore your last backup.  The backup includes your camera roll by default (unless you excluded it in settings).  This explains how to restore an iCloud backup: iCloud: Restore your iOS device from iCloud.

Make sure ipad is signed in with same apple id in icloud.
Make sure photo stream is on, on both devices.
Make sure camera app is closed on iphone.
Turn off photo stream wait a minute, turn back on, on both devices.

  • Photos are not showing up in Finder

I am using Aperture 3.2.4 on an iMac purchased in July 2011.
This is a new problem...suddenly none of the photos that I have imported into Aperture and then renamed are showing up the Finder.  By renamed, I mean it is a photo I gave a new version name to by using the metadata tab.  (Ex: "IMG_5678" was renamed "6.1.12 John & Jane").
I imported a bunch of photos last week after returning from a vacation.  In the Finder I can see most of the projects, but inside the projects only the versions still labelled IMG_XXXX are showing.  Any versions that I renamed are not there.  And the project I created called Photo Album - which has only renamed versions in it - doesn't show up at all.  This was not the case 4 days ago, because I downloaded the photo album to Facebook.  (I did so manually through FB, choosing the photos in the Finder, not through the FB button in Aperture).
Its not just an issue with these new vacation photos, but with all photos I have imported directly into Aperture...
When we bought this iMac last July, the Apple store downloaded a bunch of our PC data into it, including loading all of our photos into iPhoto.  About a month later I moved all the photos from iPhoto to Aperture.  The photos imported from iPhoto are all showing up in the finder just fine, and are organized into the folders just like they are in Aperture.  Ex:
    Main Folder: Photos 2010
         Subfolder: Thailand April 2010
All the projects then show up, with all their versions (renamed or not), including the Photo Album project
         Subfolder: New Orleans May 2010
All the projects then show up, with all their versions (renamed or not), including the Photo Album project
So these are still perfect in the Finder.
When I click on the Photos 2011 folder, the photos pre-August (the ones imported from our old PC and then from iPhoto) show up just fine.  But from August-December, all I get are projects (not organized into their folders), and the renamed photos have disappeared, as have the Photo Album projects.  (Again, the Photo Albums contain only renamed versions.  But the Photo Album project doesn't show up empty, it simply doesn't show up at all).
When I click on the Photos 2012 folder, all photos imported directly into Aperture, I get the same problem: a list of projects, not organized into their folders, all of the renamed versions within the projects have disappeared, as have the Photo Album projects.
I've tried restarting the computer, hoping it would 'reload' the photos into the Finder, but no.
    Can anyone help?

"Photo" has no useful meaning in Aperture.
You import files.  Once imported, Aperture refers to them as "Masters" (prior to 3.3) or "Originals" (3.3).  Keeping with this new change, I will refer to them as "Originals".  Every Original shows in Aperture as an Image.  Every Image has a Version.  The Version has a name.  The Version is actually a text file that contains instructions on what changes to make to the Original in order to show you the Image.  The Version and the Original are not the same (one is an image-format file, the other is a text file), even though the Image of the Version and the Image of the Original may appear to be identical.
Within Aperture you work with Images.  Since every Image has a unique Version, Images are often called "Versions".
    Originals can have several Versions.
    Aperture never alters your Originals.
Aperture either stores your Originals inside the Aperture Library (in which case they are called "Managed" Originals) or lets you put them on any locally mounted drive on your system (in which case they are called "Referenced" Masters).
When you want an image-format file to share with another program, you create one by exporting a Version or an Original.  "Export" means "make me an image-format file that looks like this".  You set the format and the parameters for that format in an Image Export Preset.
Aperture is an image-manager, not a file-manager.  There _cannot_ be a one-to-one correspondence between Images in Aperture and their locations in the Library structure you create, and files in Finder and their locations in the Finder folders you create.  Images are not files; Aperture Folders are not Finder folders.
I can't tell from your description whether you have any Referenced Originals or not.
Once you import a file into Aperture and it becomes an Original, you must never move or alter it with any program other than Aperture (or -- as of Monday -- the newest version of iPhoto).
My general suggestion for those having difficulties like you are, is to select all your Images (by, yes, clicking the misnamed "Photos" near the top of the Library tab of the Inspector) and run "File➞Consolidate Masters".  This will move any Referenced Originals to inside Aperture's Library (and thus convert them to Managed Masters).  Take advantage of Aperture's strong and robust organizing tools.  Build a structure of Projects, Albums, and Folders that gives you the storage and retrieval capabilities you want.  Use it.  When you need image-format files to share with other programs, create them by exporting.  Do not use Finder to organize your Originals.  Do not use Finder to look for your Originals.  Do not use Finder for image-management.
    HTH.
