Photos aren't displaying images?

Last year I went on holiday and at the time I took lots of photos, around 500 in total. However some of the photos aren't displaying the image of the photo, just black or white squares. When I took the pictures they registered as pictures and you could see the photo without any problem. Soon after I returned home, when I tried to upload them to my laptop, I noticed some weren't displaying anything anymore. The photo thumbnail is just a black or white square, and when I tap on it pulls up the 'photo' but there is no image. I'm uploading them to Facebook and I thought it was just an issue with the file format (even though they were taken on the iPhone) and maybe they would display once uploaded, but they haven't. If I remember correctly, when I checked the file size on my laptop they read 0KB. What happened to my photos? Can I get them back?
This is what it looks like. They used to be photos but now they're blank thumbnails. The exact same happens but in black on some photos.

Did you make a backup after taking the photos to iCloud or iTunes?  If so, restore them.
Did you have Photostream enabled?  If so, check your Photostream album for copies of the photos, or use the iCloud function on a Mac or the iCloud Control Panel for Windows to get your photos from Photostream to your computer.

  • Synced photos aren't displaying properly on iPhone

    I, for years, have been successfully syncing photos to my iPhone using iTunes. Just recently, I added photos from an external hard disk to a sub-folder (album folder) of my primary synced "Sync Photos from: " folder. After syncing iPhone, the thumbnails contained much white space, anywhere from 20% to about 98% white space. The only part of the thumbnail that gets drawn are some horizontal lines starting with the top.
    For actually opening the photo, many images display more or less than what the thumbnail reveals. I have removed the photos from the phone, deleted the iPod cache folder, unchecked sync photos in iTunes, made new directories with copies of the photos inside, and resynced numerous times to no avail. All of the photos view normally on the Macbook.
    Any ideas?
    Using iTunes 10.3.1 on a Macbook Pro 15" on OS X 10.6.8 to sync to an iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.3.3

    I had the same problem, when I synched up my new IP4 this morning. The transfer failed 3 times, then worked.
    Good news = Now my phone has my photos
    Bad News = I have no idea why the synch failed, or why it worked finally
    Other Bad News = The photos in all albums are ordered by date, not name. This is an ITunes problem which is addressed in other threads.

  • My Photos aren't Displaying, But theyre on the computer. HELP IM NEW.

    what do i do?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    Try Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild
    If that fails:
    Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
    To create and populate a new library:
    Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
    In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
    Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
    Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
    Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
    When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
    In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • My iphone 4s suddenly displays images from Yahoo, Google, and Flickr at low resolution. The camera on my phone works fine, but any web related photo content is now pixelated and low res, what's the deal?

    My iphone 4s suddenly displays images from Yahoo, Google, and Flickr at a low resolution. I have IOS 7.0.4. My phone camera works fine, but any web based photo content from Safari, Yahoo images, Google images, and Flickr all come in pixelated and low res. What's the deal?

    It happened to me but later I figured out that cellular signal was not that great and so the Internet was very slow. It took me about 2 minutes to get the full resolution picuture on either of the app you've described. Try to get faster internet either by wifi or good signal and then check.

    Hi everybody,
    I have a problem with my Crystal reports and its display in the info view. If the reports include images from the repository, the reports aren't displayed when hit in the BO-InfoView.
    This errors does not occur if there are just images in the report. Only the combination of images, embedded XCelsius-SWFs and data from the defined data sources causes the problem.
    Instead of the correct report, I get a white blank screen.

  • How to display images from BLOB column via APEX 4.0

    Hello,
    I did the following in order to display images of two Oracle records on the APEX page. I am using APEX Version : 4.0.1.00.03 , Oracle DB Version : 10.2.0.4.0.
    1. Created An oracle table TEST_FORM
    with 3 columns
    ( ID number, MIME_TYPE varchar2(255) , Image BLOB )
    2. Inserted two records
    10001, image/gif, ( actual image1)
    10002, image/gif, ( actual image2)
    3. created an Oracle procedure
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE show_my_form ( p_image_id IN test_form.id%type) AS
    l_mime test_form.mime_type%type;
    l_length NUMBER;
    l_file_name VARCHAR2 (2000);
    lob_loc test_form.IMAGE%type;
    BEGIN
    SELECT mime_type, IMAGE
    , DBMS_LOB.getlength (IMAGE)
    INTO l_mime, lob_loc, l_length
    FROM test_form
    WHERE id = p_image_id;
    owa_util.mime_header(l_mime, false);
    htp.p ('Content-length: ' || l_length);
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    wpg_docload.download_file (lob_loc);
    END show_my_form ;
    4. In Apex 4.0
    step1. Created an interactive report on a new APEX page
    step2. Specified the following in the Region Source
    select id, mime_type, '<img src="#OWNER#.show_my_form ?p_image_id=#ID#" />' photo
    from TEST_FORM
    The column result shows as <img src="CCS.show_my_form?p_image_id=#ID#" />
    I am unable to display the column image as a link to a proper image photo.
    Could you please advise me if I missed anything ?
    Thanks a lot.

    Maybe the space you have before the ? is causing issues. there shouldn't be any space.
    Your procedure looks to be much the same of one that I have.
    Have you granted execute on your procedure?
    Also, what version DB are you running? This could be another issue: http://daust.blogspot.com/2006/04/xe-calling-stored-procedures.html
    But anyway, you don't need to create your own procedure these days. You could do the following:
    in your query, have a column: dbms_lob.getlength(blob) photo ; save, then in column attributes for that column, apply a format mask. There is usually a link below the text box for the format mask - BLOB Download Format Mask, which will help you build the format mask. But it is documented here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/doc/user.40/e15517/advnc.htm#BCGGJHEF

  • Displaying image from Database with php

    Hello everybody,
    I'm working on a website that displays videos courses and tutorials as my final project
    and I'm working with "Flash builder 4" the database with mySQL and the application server with php
    Basically, the goal is to display a datagrid that shows the manager of the website in column all the information stored on the "Course" table
    the structure of the table is :
    Course (id,img,src,title,description)
    -id : primary key
    -img : path to a photo of course {for example picture of JAVA}
    -src : path to the playlist file {xml file}
    -title : String
    -description : String too
    I already succeeded to display all these contents on a DataGrid, but not with the image, I couldn't display an imageon its column using the path stored on the database, I used a DataRenderer to do that, and here is my code for Renderer and the DataGrid.mxml
    CourseGrid.mxml
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
       xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
       xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" minWidth="955" minHeight="600" xmlns:courseservice="services.courseservice.*">
    <fx:Script>
    <![CDATA[
    import Renderers.CourseDeleteRenderer;
    import Renderers.CourseImageRenderer;
    import mx.controls.Alert;
    import mx.events.FlexEvent;
    protected function dataGrid_creationCompleteHandler(event:FlexEvent):void
    getAllCourseResult.token = courseService.getAllCourse();
    ]]>
    </fx:Script>
    <fx:Declarations>
    <s:CallResponder id="getAllCourseResult"/>
    <courseservice:CourseService id="courseService" fault="Alert.show(event.fault.faultString + '\n' + event.fault.faultDetail)" showBusyCursor="true"/>
    <!-- Place non-visual elements (e.g., services, value objects) here -->
    </fx:Declarations>
    <mx:DataGrid x="10" y="10" id="dataGrid"
    creationComplete="dataGrid_creationCompleteHandler(event)"
    dataProvider="{getAllCourseResult.lastResult}"
    width="100%">
    <mx:columns>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="" dataField="img" sortable="false" itemRenderer="Renderers.CourseImageRenderer"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="id" dataField="id"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="src" dataField="src"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="title" dataField="title"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="description" dataField="description"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Delete" itemRenderer="Renderers.CourseDeleteRenderer"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Update" itemRenderer="Renderers.CourseUpdateRenderer"/>
    </mx:columns>
    </mx:DataGrid>
    </s:Application>
    CourseImageRenderer.mxml
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <s:MXDataGridItemRenderer xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
      xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
      xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"
      focusEnabled="true">
    <mx:Image source="{data}" width="60" height="60"/>
    </s:MXDataGridItemRenderer>
    Result :
    Problem :
    How can I access to the path of the image, I tried to write "data.img" instead of "data" as img is the name of the column in the database that stores the path but it wasn't successful.
    I know that it not complete statement "data" because "data" is a reference to what the DataGrid provides of information that gets from the (CreationComplete) event.
    Question :
    - Can you please help me with this so I can complete displaying images by accessing to what is on the column in tha DB so I can manipulate my datas that is stored there ?
    ==> I still have some questions about the buttons to update and delete datas fomr the DataGrid, but, until now I need to access successfully to the photo and display it
    Thank you,

    Anyone that can help me with this ?
    Please, try this with me, I'm asking Flex developpers this might be easy for you !
    It's just question of how to access the string stored in the variable "data", when I used XML I just type the path to the repeated element like this :
    XML file :
    XML File
    <parent>
    <child>
    <repeated_child></repeated_child>
    <repeated_child></repeated_child>
    <repeated_child></repeated_child>
    </child>
    </parent>
    I used a Model as a reference to the xml file
    and an arrayList as a container of the repeated child
    I just write in the code "data.parent.repeated_child" to access the text in the "repeated_child"
    and here is the code, that I implemented to generate videos from xml file to display a video play list
    Video Playlist code(extract from XML file "data.xml")
    <fx:Declarations>
    <fx:Model id="model" source="assets/data.xml"/>
    <s:ArrayList id="products" source="{model.video}"/>
    </fx:Declarations>
    <mx:List  dataProvider="{products}" labelField="title"
      change="list1_changeHandler(event,List(event.currentTarget).selectedItem)" x="103" y="77" height="350" width="198"/>
    That was my goal to do that with the database.
    Please help me
    If you have other solution I still need it.
    Thank you,

  • Displaying images in report builder

    aoa to all!
    Dear gurus, i want to develop such type of report in report builder 6i.
    empno employee name emp photo
    1 abc (here i want to show photo)
    i have build such report but the problem is when any employee who has no photo, i want to display default photo. i m displaying photo using the below steps
    1. create a formula column of type char which returns the path of emp photo like this ' return 'd:\photo\' || :empno || '.gif';
    2.create a field in layout and set the read from file property set to yes and format to image.
    my requirement is when a new employee record is entered into table emp but his photo is not currently in the directory then i want to display a logo.
    hope my question is clear. thanks in advance. plz reply a.s.a.p

    Asim
    in your select statement you can check if the employee has not its picture or picture field is null then return logo. for this you have to assign some default value to the field Like 'N' is default value for picture field so when there is not picture or field is null then 'N' will be its default value and you can check in your query like
    SELECT DECODE(pict, 'N',Logo,pict)                    FROM emp

  • HT1553 I restored my hard drive from time machine. Why is iPhoto not displaying images properly?

    I restored my hard drive from time machine after power blinks corrupted the file system so badly that disk utility could not repair it. Since then, iPhoto has not displayed images correctly. Events are there, and blank squares are shown, but that's all. I rebuilt small and all thumbnails and permissions -- I think the top three or four options in the iPhoto rebuild utility, which took five hours to do but which seems not to have changed anything. The iPhoto library is still more than 100GB, so the photos are there. I didn't choose rebuild from backed up --- whatever the final option on the rebuild menu offers -- because that seems to be appropriate only when a backup is interrupted. Could certainly do it, though. How do I get iphoto behaving again? I have full time machine backups saved automatically and another fairly recent copy on a separate hard drive stored remotely. Thanks for whatever help anyone can provide. I've looked at existing questions and solutions without success so far.

    What version of iPhoto and system are your running?  Since you've tried rebuilding with iPhoto give this a try:
    Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
    Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
    Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
    In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
    Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
    If you have an external HD you might want to have the rebuilt copy created on it unless you have well more than 100 GB available on your boot drive.

  • Problem in displaying images stored in Blob variable

    Hi all,
    I have a requirement where i need to retrieve the image stored in Blob variable in DB and display the image in JSP page.
    I have written the below code to achieve this, it works fine
    In JSP, I am calling a action in the <img tag
    <img src='downloadPhoto.page?method=getPhotoInBytes&accessoryModelPictures.id.accessoryNumber=${photo.id.accessoryNumber}/> In my controller class
    InputStream inputStream=accessoryPicturesLOB.getPicture().getBinaryStream();
    byte[] theBytes = new byte[inputStream.available()];
    inputStream.read(theBytes);
    response.setContentType("image/jpg");
    response.getOutputStream().write(theBytes);But the problem is, *if i right click on the image and select save picture as option i get a error saying "The system cannot find the specified file "*
    Can you please tell me what is wrong in my approach/code
    Is there any better approach to display image that is store in Blob variable ?
    Please help on this.
    Thanks in advance.

    You need at least to set the filename in the content disposition header.

  • Navigation & Photo Page not displaying within some browsers

    Hello,
    I am using iWeb '08 and am having great difficulties trying to get my site cross browser compatible. The site is working perfectly on the Mac in Firefox 2 & Safari but not Firefox 3. It is also not displaying correctly in Firefox 2.0.0.13 and IE7 on my WinXP machine. Unfortunately the error is not just a cosmetic issue. The Main Navigation is not displaying on any page and only shows a bullet point where it is meant to be. The other error occurs in the Photo Template and the photos are not displaying. I am using a "Version 1 template" and did a test with a "version 2" template that provided the same errors.
    Has anyone else had these problems???
    The site is located at:

    You have applied a height of "auto"to your menubar container, which gives it no height at all in some browsers. If you have a clue what height you would like to display for your menubar, give it, instead of:
        <div style="height: auto;" id="p7PMM_1" class="p7PMMh04">
    Better yet, leave it in the CSS file, where you will find it when you go looking for it. You already assign a height there:
    .p7PMMh04 {
        width: auto;
        height: 20px;
        margin: 0 auto;
        font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
        font-size: 11px;
        font-weight: bold;
        background-image: url(http://home.roadrunner.com/~jgigandet/trinity/img/new_bk.gif);
        background-repeat: repeat-x;
        background-color: #000;
        text-align: left;
        line-height: normal;
    Because your inline style of height:auto; has more proximity (is closer) to the element being styled, it overrides the style in the stylesheet and applies the height: auto; instead of allowing the height: 20px;

  • Problem on PC: During import, I can locate the sources folder however the photo do not display. Was working fine.

    Problem on PC: During import, I can locate the sources folder however the photo do not display. Was working fine. All file types, Lightroom is no longer recognising the images to import, The panel that usually displays them remains empty.  Try using backup versions, removing software that could conflict , still no joy, has anyone had this problem?

    Did you follow this procedure?
    Our iTunes guru Terence Devlin advises the following:
    1. Quit iTunes
    2. Drag the iTunes folder from your internal hd - located in ~/Music folder - to your external hd. DO NOT delete the original one from your internal hd... yet!
    3. When the transfer is complete, press and hold the Option(alt) key and fire up iTunes.
    4. A "Choose iTunes Library" window will come up. Click on the "Choose Library" button.
    5. Navigate to where the iTunes folder is located in the external hd.
    6. Within the iTunes folder, select the iTunes Library file and click Choose...
    That's it. iTunes will now display all your playlists, songs, movies, podcasts etc. At this point, should you wish, you can delete the iTunes folder from the internal hd to free up space.

  • 1.1 - vista - photos don't display

    I upgraded to V1.1 on my Dell Inspiron 9400 and the photos no longer display. I read a couple of other posts that suggested remomving/changing/upgrading video drivers. I've done this, plus removal and reinstall of Lightroom, plus brand new catalogs and new test imports of raw (D70s NEF) and jpg, and nothing works.
    I get grey boxes instead of the images, all the other metadata and image info, but no image. I don't know what to do now. V 1.0 worked fine, and V1.1 works fine on my desktop PC (not a Dell, custom built, runs Win XP).
    Any ideas? Will Adobe come up with a patch or something? I am confident my driver is correct for my system, I allowed Vista to find the new latest version and install it, and I also tried an older driver version.
    This is the one and only program I absolutely need to run on this laptop for an upcoming trip of a lifetime and I don't want to go back to Win XP on the laptop. I'd prefer not to go back to 1.0 either as I was keen on the new features.
    If anyone knows a fix, please help.

  • Iphoto photos will not display in iworks

    I have a new Macbook Pro with ILife with Imovie 8 and Iphoto 8. Some photos that I just scanned and imported to iphoto after using an Epson Photo Perfection scanner, will not display in imovie. They were saved in jpeg format and appear fine in my iphoto files. I have even made changes to them in iphoto and saved them to see if that helped, but they still won't display in imovie. The only problem similar to this that I could find in the discussions is when the photos are saved in RAW format. These are not. Any ideas?

    Try dropping one of the files directly from the Finder to the iMovie '08 "Project" window. If the files is accepted, then you know the compression format is good and can check things like file, event, or album names that may prevent the photos from being displayed via the iMovie '08 browser. If the file is not compatible, then iMovie will not import it and you can try "re-compressing" the files in an image application to see if they will then be recognized.
