Photos become greenish, adjustment problem

Hi, all of the photos on one of my projects became greenish, And on the inspector window is shown " This photo was adjusted using an ealier version of Apples' Row process". All of my other projects are fine. None of softwares were updated. How can fix the problem? Should I reimport the pictures?

If the adjustment has been created with an earlier version of raw support for your camera, then it might help to reprocess the master image files. This will recompute the adjustment with your currently installed raw driver,
Select the project in question and all images in it, then ctrl-click and choose "reprocess photos". You will be given the choice to do the reprocessing only with photos having already adjustments or with all images, and also if you want to create new versions or to replace the old versions.

Hi all.
Now everything is in order.
I had an upgrade of Aperture. It deleted a main folder called "All photos". Luckily I had saved the library to an extra hard drive. Imported the back and everything in order.
Was too much interested in looking at the World Championships in snooker. Sorry.

That's corrected, they save to your camera roll.

How to add a photo filter image adjustment layer?

In this tutorial at the last step it says to add a photo filter image adjustment layer on the image to give it a warm finish, I can't see any adjustment palette as shown in image. I use a CS3 Extended.

Wow, again I stand corrected.
I have a perceptual "blind spot" when it comes to finding textual entries in lists. It's a "hidden in plain sight" kind of quirk that I normally work around either by being diligent or finding another way (e.g., pressing the button I highlighted above). I'm sure magicians and people who design camouflage would understand it.
I actually looked in both Photoshop CS5 and CS3 and didn't perceive that entry before I wrote my post above. I probably looked right at it but didn't sense it was there. I was even thinking of writing up a bug report. Now, of course, since you've pointed it out, I go back and look again in my copies of Photoshop and I do see it. It's a bit of a scary realization, as I have to wonder what else in life I've missed because of this. I'm reminded mildly of the scene in the old film "The Andromeda Strain" where the lab worker sees a flashing red "NO GROWTH" indicator but doesn't take action on it because of an epileptic block.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Try the action again. Post any messages that appear in the Console window – the text, please, not a screenshot.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.

Why do my photos become uncropped when i upload to shutterfly? I saved them as cropped photos in my album and followed the directions closely, but it keeps happening.

Why do my photos become uncropped when I upload to Shutterfly using the Shutterfly app? I correctly downloaded the photos to my iPad. I then cropped them, enhanced them, and saved correctly. I then created a new folder, put them in it, then used the Shutterfly app to upload them. However, the uploaded versions are the originals before being cropped and enhanced. I have tried this several times now and cannot figure it out.

There may or may not be something wrong with your colour settings or monitor calibration and profile. Quite possibly there isn't. You say you work in Adobe RGB space in Photoshop. If you're viewing Adobe RGB images which have no embedded profile in a browser then the images are extremely likely to look "washed out and faded". And if you're viewing images in a browser that's not fully colour managed then your images will look wrong there anyway, regardless of profiles.
I suspect you're putting Adobe RGB profile images on the Web and not embedding that profile in the images.
It's generally best practice to put sRGB images on the Web. You can work in Adobe RGB space in Photoshop but if you don't work in sRGB space then ensure images destined for the Web are converted to sRGB so there is the best chance of most viewers seeing a somewhat close approximation to what you see in Photoshop.
Photoshop's Save For Web dialog has an option to convert to sRGB. Note that SFW has an option to embed the profile in JPEG but not PNG files. There is some debate over whether the profile should be embedded in images for the Web but my personal choice is to embed. So if I export sRGB PNG via SFW, I use Apple Preview to embed the sRGB profile.

When I downloaded a lot of photos there were two problems. First they were downloaded randomly-not in time sequence as they are on the Iphone. Second they were all rotated by 90 degrees. How can these problems be avoided?

Normally when you copy a file from one device to another the date is not changed. So something in your copy procedure is changing it. In addition, the file names assigned by the camera app in the iPhone include an index number in the file name, so just sorting on file name should show the photos in chronological order. And finally, every image file contains within it the date and time taken and the location if Location Services in the phone is turned on. Any photo editor can access this information and use it to order the photos.

I am trying to follow your very precise steps, and in my case (PSE11 also, Win7), the focus stays on the edited picture after I return from the editor to the Organizer. I am pretty sure that in the previous post describing your situation, I was able to reproduce the problem, but I don't remember on which version. I just tried in 'Folders' view mode to edit in a selected folder, then I clicked 'All media' so that no folder was selected. Same result in both cases.
Even if you prefer to work in folders view, you could take advantage of the ability to use 'albums'. It's a misleading word to describe a selection, a 'collection' of pictures, which you can sort as you want. It's a kind of 'playlist' like with music items. In the organizer, you can select a folder and create an album (even a temporary one) just by choosing 'create instant album'. Suppose you have made an album from a folder or a selection of highlighted pictures to edit. You can order them in date order, import batch or 'custom' order'. Since PSE12 you can also sort them in filename order. You should never lose the 'focus' on your last edited picture when coming back from the editor to the organizer. If the purpose of that album is only to help in organizing an editing session, you simply delete the album (the playlist) if you don't want to keep the list afterward.
I hope someone will be able to confirm how that can happen...

Copy and paste adjustment problem/ possible bug.

I have just encountered a very strange problem/ possible bug.
I have been working on a file in photoshop cs5 that had come from lightroom 5.3. This was then saved (automaticaly becomes tiff file in Lightroom). I then wanted to make some more adjustments to it in lightroom (using local adjustment clarity). I then tried to copy the settings of the adjustment brush from the tiff to the original raw file. This is where it gets very strange. The adjustments are copied but they are rotated ccw by 90 degrees! I can replicate this every time.
Could someone else try to see if this problem exists on their catalogs or if its a corrpution problem my end.

Color Adjustment Problems

Can someone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong or what is going wrong. I am trying to get rid of green eye on a dog but I cannot seem to pick the eye color from the photo.
I'm starting with the green adjustment (not that this matters). I'm trying to pick the actual shade from the photo.
So I click on the color square:
The hues I get when the cursor is over the eye vary from oranges to yellows even though I see nothing under the cursor that looks anything like those hues. But sometimes I can get a hue that looks close, like in the shot below:
So I click and the result I get in the color adjustment often is nothing close to the color I picked. In this case it became red:
Any ideas?

I posted a problem related to this (but not exactly the same) a year ago and tried all the usual troubleshooting steps then with no success. The problem was on more than one computer and with photos from different cameras. I gave up and assumed it was a bug that would get fixed. I haven't touched the color adjustment bar for a year. Since that time I have installed a new video card, upgraded to Mountain Lion, installed every available update, and have rebooted many many times. I have also reinstalled Aperture from scratch (from disk) at least once and gone through all the Aperture updates. Today I did try trashing the Aperture preference file and rebooting. Neither worked. Prior to a year ago I had no problem.
The color bar works some times then will quit working. Other times it returns the wrong hue from the eye dropped (as described here), sometimes I get what looks like the right hue but the sliders have no effect until I "apply to entire photo" and all of a sudden the change takes effect. I was finally able to coax it into submission for this photo but it took more than a few tries.

Photo settings/burns effect problems

I am deep into a project with many stills. Unfortunately every time I import a still it is converted to a Burns effect clip... need to figure out how to default that out, makes the stills hard to see in the clip viewer.
BUT all of a sudden I cant use the Show Photo Settiings window, as I have been for the enitre project, to adjust the stills.... it is not allowing me to make changes and with the Burns effect on IT HAS GONE BLACK.
I have "saved as" many times in the project, and deleted the trash a couple of times... I am not sure but it is possible that this started the last time I deleted the trash.
I hope someone sees this and knows what is going on.... I am on a short delivery schedule and am suddenly dead inthe water.

Partially answering my own question: there is a previous posting that discusses an iMovie 6 bug related to inappropriate discarding of "good" files when you empty the trash.
DO NOT EMPTY YOU TRASH UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR PROJECT to avoid t his problem until the bug is resolved. this killed me....
I hope someone more expert can explain further.

Rotated photos become all black. Help pls.

Photos scanned as black & white (using Image Capture) and imported into iPhoto become completely black when rotated.
The thumbnails are OK. It's just when you double click on a thumbnail to get the full saized version that there is a problem.
Same photos scanned as colour are just fine when rotated.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do to overcome this?

Well Old Toad, you are a treasure. There is no way I would have worked this one out by myself.
I particularly like the fact that the image continues to look B&W even tho it has a colour profile attached after running your little miracle app, Auomator 2 ... EmbedsRGBColorProfile2
I mention now a small hiccup I had so that other people following this discussion thread will be able to proceed smoothly.
When I tred to run your app I got the following msg "Embed sRGB Profile 2.app can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer." But I found I could overide this.
"To override your security settings and open the app anyway:
In the Finder, locate the app you want to open.
Don’t use Launchpad to do this. Launchpad doesn’t allow you to access the shortcut menu.
Press the Control key, then click the app icon.
Choose Open from the shortcut menu.
The app is saved as an exception to your security settings, and you will be able to open it in the future by double-clicking it, just like any registered app.
Click Open."
