Photos Change Color When Published

Good morning,
Wondering if anyone might be able to advise me on why the colors of my photos appear washed out when I publish my iWeb page to a folder. When I open the page in Firefox the colors are not as vibrant and saturated as when they are in iWeb. Would this have anything to do with iWeb compressing the photos when publishing to a folder?
All photos have been added to iWeb as jpegs.

How do the photos look with Safari? I vaguely remember a thread which mentioned that Firefox didn't manage color and Safari did or something to that effect. What is the color profile in the photos (sRGB is preferred for web use) and do you have iWeb setup to optimize photos upon importing?

Can anyone tell me why this picture changes color when I try to download/upload it? It is the exact same picture I have taken from the same location. The image on the left is via preview and the image on the right is what is shows like when I try to download it. I have emailed it to myself and it shows fine on the computer and in CS4, but when I look at the download via my phone or on another computer it shows the wonky color on the right. I have checked the color space shows RGB/8 bit. Any ideas why or how to fix it? It isn't with any one specific session.... and I've tried it on both my desktop and my laptop- saved image to an external hard drive and to drop box. I've tried sending the image to canvas on demand, my email, mpxipro, POST editing- all the same result. Please HELP!! What am I doing wrong?

Most of the time you see something like that. The image in question has a color profile other then sRGB. Some image viewers/displayers are color managed and others are not. So the image do not look the same in all of the applications you use. So colors seem to change.
Try converting it to sRGB color and see if then looks the same all around. Also I think PC and Mac displays are set to different gamma something like 1.8 and 2.2
Though I'm colorblind I even see color variations.

I already have a cell with the current date in it. I also know how to change the fill/text colors. All the cells have been formatted to show date only. I am having trouble with the formula. I can get to the Conditional Formatting menu and select "With Dates" but after that I am lost. Can anyone help?

Set a Conditional Format rule as shown in the illustration below. The rule has been applied to all dates in column B of the table.

How do I get my events to change colors when I add a new event in my calendar?

When you add an event and you see the heading "Calendar", do you see a name to the right of it such as "Work"? If you tap on the heading "Calendar" does it show you a list of calendars?
I'm basing this on my experience using iCal on a Mac to sync with my iPad. I created a number of calendars on the Mac and assigned them different colors. Those appear on my iPad. I don't know how to create additional calendars on the iPad alone - I must create them in iCal or MobileMe then they show up on the iPad. Are you using a Mac or MobileMe?

Link in form of a pictrue - change color when sweeping

Doing links in form of a word which change color when sweeping over them is simple in iWeb.
I wonder how I do if I not just want the color of the text but also an image to change.
Ex. I have a link in form of a bright cloud. When one sweep the mouse over it I want the cloud transform into a darker form of the same cloud.
Perhaps I need a codescript which connect two pictures of the cloud?

PS file in illustrator changes color when I move it??

When I open a ps file in illustrator some objects change color when I move them and are displayed correctly in preview and Photoshop, why and how do I fix this?
Also the object seems to be duplicated. It should have the same and only the colors of the scale bar. In another file the image part is correct and the scale bar is incorrect.

It is an odd problem. The "good" screen shot is from opening the PS file in mac's preview. As it is, I use several tools in illustrator to get the final image where I need it to be; several layers and what not. I have tired 5, 5.1, and 6 with the same problem. Again I have a different problem when I use a different figure:
As you can see just the opposite problem is the case. The map part is good while the color scale if off. Both parts are made in the same way and more or less in the same sequence, I don't think it is purely a problem at birth and other software can "see" it correctly, so I don't think it is a hardware problem.

How To Make Shapes Change Colors When Clicking on them. Example Sheet Sales Data.xlsx template with Excel 2013

My question is related to the Sales Data.xlsx template that comes with Excel 2013
IN this workbook is a sheet named Sales Data. It has, 3 shapes. One each for each of the tab sheets in the workbook. When I click on the 'Sales Report' shape it selects the sales report tab. When you do this the shape changes color and the 'Sales Data' shape
also changes color.
However I'm unable to figure out how the colors are changing.
I don't see any macros in the workbook/worksheet. Nor do I see any code for worksheet events. I don't see any modules in VBA either. I think what is happening is that there are 2 shapes. When you click on one, the one shape goes to the background and the
other one comes to the foreground.
I'm no sure how it's doing that.
Can someone look at this template, Sales Data.xlsx that comes with Excel and explain how this functionality works?

The shapes are exactly as I suspected, each of 3 sheets has 3 'navigation' shapes. The shape with the same name as the sheet has no hyperlink and is coloured differently to indicate it refers to the active sheet. The other two have hyperlinks linked to respective
sheets. 3x3 shapes, 9 in total, none of them ever change colour!
It's logical though not necessary to name each shape same as the sheet it links to, but they'd work just as well with their original default names.
For aesthetics, the shapes that refer to own sheet have a horizontal line on top, actually two shapes as a group.
If still confused copy each set of 3 shapes to a 4th sheet, or open two new windows so you can see all three sheets at the same time.

Photos change order when burning to disc

I have created a separate album of photos that I want to burn to a CD. When I do so, some of the photos change order. I have tried to delete those photos and then re-add them to the album, but to no avail. I have also tried to change their date so that they are chronologically in the right order, but this doesn't help either. Any help would be truly appreciated. I want to give this CD to my father for Christmas. Thanks!!

You should be able to make a slidshow almost as easy as what you're trying to do right now... it'll take some pratice
Personally, I have both exported a slideshow from iPhoto to iDVD and also created a slideshow directly in iDVD, the latter is a better fit for what you're doing.
Open iDVD, create new project, name as you like and save, will auto open to work window, click on 'customize', pick a theme you like. Now click on 'Map' and in the customize pane click on 'Media'. In the media pane you have itunes, photos and movie, select photos... you're iPhoto library will appear along with all the albums you might have created and organized. Here's what makes it sweet, you can drag each album into the 'Map' Theme icon and it will automatically import and turn into a slideshow and take on the name of the album... to see your progess hit the Preview button... you'll have to do a little learning and tweaking, you can add music etc., but that's it, you made a slide show ready to burn to a dvd...
My suggestions would be to organize albums as you like, named appropriately and just have fun with it. You can save and go back and edit at a later date. Use the highlight and delete or cut options to remove etc etc etc...
You can burn project using the File > Burn DVD option or you can save the FINAL production use the File > Save As Disk Image option, and you can burn the DVD through disk utility which will give you more options on burn speed and buring at 1x speed may yield the best results...

My Macbook display changes color when I open applications. It looks like there is a light blue layer over the screen, thus changing the color of my display. This layer goes away when i quit the applications.

I am facing a problem and I am not sure if its a graphic card malfunction. When I open applications like Chrome, VLC player, and most apps, my display suddenly changes color. It is as though the Theme was changed. The normal grey panel on opened windows turns to light blue and everything else seem as though there is a light blue layer on top of it. When I close these applications (quit) the display returns to its normal self.
My MacBook Pro is 2 years old, and I have an extended warranty. Will Apple replace my graphic card if it is actuall the graphic card's problem?

I had that problem, too, and it's been documented both here and on the Adobe forums. What happens is that when you have dynamic switching on, when an application that uses your discrete GPU kicks in, the screen will change color. My problem lasted for a couple of weeks then just vanished.
What you need to do is download Cody Krieger's gfxCardStatus and turn off dynamic switching and leave your GPU set to discrete only. That's the only fix that I know of at this time. I don't know why it happens or why mine stopped.

Photo changes tones when i add a new Stamp Visible Layer!

When i make adjustments like for example adding a Posterise layer! lets say i would like to Stamp visible, shift+alt +command+E for mac. My photo changes tones slightly!!
Why does this happen??

Does it happen if you first set the photo to 100% view (actual pixels) and then do Stamp Visible?
View>100% or double click on the Zoom Tool in the toolbox.

Is it possible to change the background color when publishing as EXE Full Screen?

I often publish Captivate projects as EXE - FullScreen. I would l like to set the background color outside of the EXE frame. Is that possible. When running my Captivate published .EXEs at full screen at a resolution greater than the project, a tan color background color appears and I would like to change it to black, or some other color. I tried the Skin - HTML background color, but that had no effect.

Photos changing color?

When I put my photos into iweb they become more intense with contrast. Is there anything I can do to prevent that?

Hi Pasquale...
I'm assuming that you see this difference on the published page and not in iWeb, right?
This type of color shift can occur because iWeb is converting your jpgs into png format and not preserving the original color profile in the jpg.
iWeb will convert your jpgs to pngs anytime you make any change to the native image in iWeb....like resizing or applying effects like opacity changes, reflections, drop shadows, stroke frames, etc.
In order to keep this conversion from happening (and prevent color profile changes), you really have to get your images ready to use as is before bringing them into iWeb. What this means is that when you are laying out your page, you figure out that you want to use one of your 5 megapixel images at 300x400. iWeb is capable of doing this for you very easily, but at the expense of converting your jpg to a png file. Instead, if you use some external graphics program (like iPhoto) to scale your megapixel image directly to 300x400, THEN drop it into iWeb (and click on "Original Size" in the Inspector Metrics tab...and make sure there are no shadows or frames applied by the template), then your jpg will be used "as is" without any conversion to PNG.
It's a pain in the you-know-what, I know. And this workaround is the way I have come about to dealing with the image conversion issue. It will also save you some file size space to get your jpg images pre-processed like this, since iWeb's PNG sizes are usually pretty big comparatively.

Photo not found when publishing to .Mac

Hi, I imported some photos from an external drive into iPhoto. Then I disconnected the external drive. Later when I tried to publish the newly imported photos to the .Mac gallery, I received an error that says the photos are not found and asks if I want to find the photo manually.
Does this mean that when I import photos, there is still a link back to the original location of the imported photos? Does that I mean I should copy of the originals into the local hardisk before I import them?

I would have the ColorSync option checked.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

Links change color when Email is Received

Hi, I have created an html email in Dreamweaver with "pink" links. The problem is after I email it I look at it in my sent email and ithe links are "blue" when they should be pink. So in other words the recipients get the HTML email with blue linkd instead of "pink" links.
I have checked in my mac "mail" in the settings to see if it is using a blue color for the links but I can't find anything relating to link colors.
Any ideas what I can do? Also is there somewhere in DW that gives me the option to change the link color?

This code doesn't seem to work in "Design" view
When I am using an email link and do as you suggest and move the tag behind the word and look at the page in "Design" view in Dreamweaver the link is all black and is barely readable on a dark background.

But when I place the closing "font" tag after the </a> (see below) and preview the page in "Design" view in Dreamweaver the link is the Pink color as it should.

I think you need use CHANGED as value for CRITERIA. I don't think NW doesn't support CHANGED value for CRITERIA i guess.
