Photos were deleted from our iPad. I was wondering if there was a way to undefeated them.

Did you have them Backed up anywhere...?
If not... they are gone.

  • I upgraded my system and lost all my photos. Can they be recovered.

I upgraded my system and lost all my photos. I remember getting a message that my photos are not readable and do I want to replace. I quickly said yes without reading the message carefully. I lost all my photos. Can they be recovered?

Look in your /Home/Pictures/ folder for the iPhoto Library file. Do you have one there? Look at the modification date for it. What is the date relative to the date you did this upgrade? If you double click on the file what happens? Do you have another iPhoto Library file by chance? If so what happens if you double-click on it?

  • When I order 4 Aperture photo books can they be sent to 4 different addresses?

I am using Apple Aperture on an iMac. I plan to order soon at least 4 photo books and more later. Can 4 printed books be shipped to 4 different addresses in one order, or do I have to make 4 separate orders? If Apple has filled an order to print a photo book can I make another order without having to upload the book again, since Apple has the book from the previous order?

All parts of an order have to be delivered to the same delivery address. And for additional copies you have to place a new order and upload the book again.

  • Accidentally burned documents in IDVD. Can they be saved?

In an attempt to backup my files before they were moved from one Macbook to another, I had let my Mac savy sister burn my documents folder to dvd. I'm pretty new to macs, but not to computers in general. However I didn't know how to burn to a dvd. The files are on the dvd, they all vary in content size, but I cannot view them. For example, if I open one of my word documents, all I see are squares in place of words.
Is there any way to salvage these documents? I cannot recreate them, some are old saved writings, and I will do anything to get them back, even partially. Is there a way to reverse burn these files? Any and all help will be deeply appreciated!

    Hello, GoldenZ,
    Welcome to the discussions.
Sorry for your difficulty with your burned documents. Do you know how they were burned? Was it following Mac Help's methods...?
    +*Burning a CD or DVD*+
+The Finder can burn files to a CD or DVD. You can then use that disc as a backup, send it to friends, or copy those files to another machine. Mac OS X burns discs that can also be used on Windows computers and other types of computers. Thie disc uses a HFS Plus/ISO 9660 hybrid format with these file systems: HFS+, ISO-9660 with Rock Ridge, and Joliet with Rock Ridge.+
+If your computer has a Combo drive, you can burn files onto CDs. If your computer has a SuperDrive, you can burn files on CDs and DVDs.+
+After you drag items to the disc, the Finder places aliases to them in the disc's window. When you burn the disc, the original files that the aliases point to are burned to the disc. In addition, if any folder in the burn folder contains aliases, the original files for those aliases are burned to the disc as well.+
+Insert a blank disc into the optical drive of your computer.+
+If you see a dialog, you can choose an action from the pop-up menu and select "Make this action the default" if you want the same thing to happen every time you insert a blank disc.+
+The disc appears on your desktop.+
+Double-click the disc to open it, and drag the files and folders you want on it to its window.+
+The Finder places aliases to the files in the disc's window. The original files are not moved or deleted.+
+Arrange and rename the files exactly as you want them.+
+When burning the disc, the Finder gives the items on the disc the same names and locations as the aliases in the disc window. After the disc is burned, you cannot change them.+
+Choose File > Burn Disc, and follow the instructions.+
+The files that the aliases point to are burned to the disc. In addition, if any folder you copied contains aliases, the original files for those aliases are burned to the disc as well.+
+If the Finder cannot find the original file for an alias, it asks whether to cancel burning or to continue without that item. If you cancel, the disc remains empty.+
+If you eject the disk without burning it, the Finder creates a burn folder with the items you copied to the disc, and places that folder on your desktop.+
+To burn a disc that appears in the sidebar, click the burn icon that appears next to it. You can also hold down the Control key as you click any disc and choose Burn Disc from the shortcut menu.+
+You can also burn discs using applications such as Disk Utility, iTunes, iPhoto, or iDVD.+
What happens if you drag the files off the DVD to your desktop and open it from there?

  • If my songs were deleted, can they be retrieved?

can songs that were deleted be retrieved?

In general when anything is deleted from a hard drive the data remains in place until the space it occupied is used to store another file. There are tools that can scan the drive and often reconstruct such lost data. Prices range from free to very expensive, but you might find something that works, for example the free unsupported version of Recuva might be all you need to recover lost files.
Assuming you can find the files that were on the drive you're going to need some more help to turn them back into an iTunes library. See the link to the iLounge Article at the end of Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. Basically you need to extract the media files that will be stored with files named with four random letters and a media type file extension, then import these into an iTunes library. Anything properly tagged can be renamed into artist and album folders.

  • Creating Interactive Tabs in Fireworks and can they be saved to PDF?

    Hi,
I want to make simple tabs in Fireworks like this:  http://dojocampus.org/content/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/tabs.gif
I did try to make these by using the 'Hotspot' and 'Swap Image' feature (switch out the different buttons/states) - but when I went to view them in a browser - it didn't work when I hovered over the buttons...
Does anyone have a good tutorial on this.  AND will these work in an Adobe PDF?  Or only in a browser?

    Hello Sammer,
We have the same issue- We are trying to move from CATS to Time events and PTMW (as we would like to see more real time come into our system) -but we would like all our time from clocks to be approved (not just corrections).
How do we trigger for approvals on the time entries before it reaches 2011 infotype and picked up by Time eval?

  • If I have my photos backed up with iCloud, can I delete them off my phone and will they be saved?

If I have my photos backed up with iCloud, can I delete them off my phone and will they be saved?  We can't do the IOS 7 upgrade and notice that the photos are taking up the most memory.  If I delete these, but they are backed up on iCloud, will I lose them all if they aren't stored anywhere else?

    Hi...
If you delete the backups it will not delete any content from their device, however the data will be removed from iCloud.
It will also prevent the devices from backing up to iCloud in future, unless this is re-enabled.

They will be backed up only until you backup again. iCloud is not a storage drive in the sky, it is a backup service only. If you delete the photos and videos from the camera roll, and then you backup the iPad with iCloud, you will overwrite that backup and the photos will be gone.
Import the photos to your computer if they are that important to you. iCloud is for backup only, not a storage place that you can download your photos from again once you overwrite that backup.

At 1.3GB available, your storage space is getting very thin no matter what you do further.  As long as you have the photo's in the camera roll saved on your computer you can delete them.  Just make sure first that they are in your photo software.  If updating in iTunes, just backup/sync first, then update, and that will save the camera roll in the backup as well.
At only 1.3GB you eventually are going to find yourself unable to install or update some app, or unable to take any new pictures, or some other limitation that will force you to free up space anyway.  So now, before updating, sounds like a good time to make sure everything is backed up or stored somewhere else, and clean house a bit, then update.

  • How do I delete photos off of my 5s but ensure they are saved in iPhoto?

How do I delete photos off of my iPhone, but ensure they are saved in iPhoto or on my hard drive.

You can import them to your computer via a cable as described in http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083
Alternatively, if you have been using Photo Stream, you can open iPhoto on your Mac, and on the menu named "iPhoto" click Preferences and then iCloud and put a check mark in front of "Automatic Import" to automatically import photos from My Photo Stream into regular iPhoto Events. You can also open iPhoto and click on iCloud in the left hand pane and manually move photos into Events.

Restore from your back up seems an obvious solution.

What format are they? Tiif? Jpeg? You can compress them with a lot of apps - including Preivew and just about any graphics editor out there. I'm not sure that 45mb would crash iPhoto thogh, are yo sure that's the cause? I know that some folks have mentioned pixel dimensions causing issues, as can color profiles.

  • Does Time Capsule back up everything on my computer? If I inadvertently delete photos from iPhoto can they be retrieved from Time Capsule?

Does Time Capsule back up everything on my computer? If I inadvertently delete photos from iPhoto can they be retrieved from Time Capsule?

About TM "Backup Drive is Full"
Alert TM only deletes older files if they have been deleted from the source and when TM needs space on the backup drive for a new incremental backup. Time Machine "thins" it's backups; hourly backups over 24 hours old, except the first of the day; those "daily" backups over 30 days old, except the first of the week. The weeklies are kept as long as there's room.
So, how long a backup file remains depends on how long it was on your Mac before being deleted, assuming you do at least one backup per day. If it was there for at least 24 hours, it will be kept for at least a month. If it was there for at least a week, it will be kept as long as there's room.
Note, that on a Time Capsule the sparsebundle grows in size as needed, but doesn't shrink. Thus, from the user's view of the TC it appears that no space has been freed, although there may be space in the sparsebundle.
Once TM has found it cannot free up enough space for a new backup it reports the disk is full. You can either erase the backup drive and start your backups anew or replace the drive with a larger drive.

photo's and video is taken up most of the room on my ipad they have been backed up.  Can I delete and they still will be in icloud

Don't use iCloud to back up your photos or you will lose them.  Instead, import your camera roll photos and videos to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.  You can then delete them from your iPad if you wish to free up space.
