" How do I delete them from my phone now?"
You could have deleted them when you imported them to your computer.  You can deletet them from the iphone:
iPhone User Guide (For iOS 4.2 and 4.3 Software)
" is there any way to transfer a select few back onto my phone? "
Yes.  Sync them as you would any ohter pics.

On my apple ipod 4g (ios 6.1.6) ibooks was deleted and new version of it was unable to sync on my pod. Can please help me with that?

Try going to the Purchased tab in the App Store app on your iPod and you should be able to redownload an older compatible version of the app from there - you won't be able to do it from your computer's iTunes, you can only download the current version of an app on there, it is only directly on a device that you can potentially redownload an older compatible version.

  • HT201269 I just synced my new iphone through itunes and it deleted my new pictures.  is there any way to get them back?

I just syned my new iphone through itunes and it deleted all of my new pictures.  is there anyway to get them back?

Do you sync your iPhone with iTunes every once in a while? If yes, there are chances that iTunes has taken last backup of your photos, contacts, etc. that you want back.
Connect your iPhone with your PC. launch iTunes, right click on your device and click on "Restore from Backup". Choose the latest backup to proceed.
If you configured iCloud for backup before you restored your iPhone. Go to Settings -> iCloud -  > and login using your Apple ID. Once you've logged in, all the photos, contacts, mail, messages should be back on your iPhone. This may take a while (depending on your network).
Alternatively, if you are only now setting up your iPhone, choose 'Restore from iCloud Backup' in the setup screen. Login with Apple ID and the iPhone will be restored from the latest iCloud backup.

  • I've lost my photo library and iPhoto pictures & i want to get them back

i deleted photobooth & iphoto from my pictures folder. now when i open photo booth & iphoto it says it cannot locate my photo library and i have no pictures. i want my pics back help!

re: ''Still, my inbox now displays only the emails on the server; these are proper synchronised.''
As you have 'synchronised' the folder, I assume you use an IMAP mail account.
Please confirm that you use IMAP or Pop.
IMAP mail accounts see a remote view of the subscribed folders that are on the server.
So if your webmail account only shows eg: 10 emails in Inbox and in Thunderbird you only see those 10 emails in the account Inbox then nothing is wrong in that they are the same.
Are you saying that the emails were deleted off the server, so that they are also deleted in thunderbird?
    check: Tools > Activity manager
Does it say any anything about deleting loads of emails?
Do you know if compacting occured?
    One possibility:
Your Inbox folder was corrupted and then the folder was compacted either manually or automatically.
It removed all 'marked as deleted; emails, but as the folder was corrupted, Tb could not determine where the 'marked as deleted' email ended and therefore may have deleted good emails.
If this occured then there is no way to get them back unless you had a backup of your emails.
It is advised that you keep an Inbox for incoming new mail and move good emails into suitable folders for organising and compact the folder on a regular basis.

  • IPad and Aperture - photo deletion and/or editing

    Hi all,
I'm a new happy user of an iPad 2, and as I am also a user of Aperture, I was wondering if there is a way to delete photos from my iPad and thus from my Aperture. I have sooooo many photos that I want to delete, and I would love it if there was a way to sit with my kids and prune through my library on my iPad. Also, is there a program that will allow me to do any photo editing/captioning/face tagging/caption adding, etc., (basically a moble version of Aperture) on my iPad?
    Thanks so much!!!!!
    Leah

The problem is with the ipod photo cache.
He had me do the following:
    1. go to home folder in finder
    2. open pictures folder
    3. right click on iphoto library and click on show package contents
    4. Find "ipod photo cache" file and drag to desktop
    5. Close finder
    6. Reopen itunes and sync ipad
    7. The ipod photo cache rebuilds itself

  • Photo library and iphone pictures

    I have an Iphone 3gs.
    The problem is in Photos.
I should be showing the following
    Camera roll
    Photo stream
    Iphone Pictures
    And I am
    But I am also showing
    Photo Library
Which is a Duplicate of Iphone Pictures
When I go into Itunes to the "select photos from" menu and pick "Iphone Pictures",
Itunes will duplicate the Iphone Pictures album with one called "Photo Library".
When I look on my PC I find Iphone Pictures but do not find "Photo Library".
When I move the Iphone Pictures album to a different directory and replace it with a new
one, the Photo library goes away. Then I try to copy and paste the photos to the new
"Iphone  Pictures" folder and resync. The Photo Library comes back as a duplicate again.
    This is frustrating.
    Please Help

This is the way Apple handles photos on the iphone.  it is normal and is correct.
Just as a book can be in the library and in the fiction section, a pic can be accessed from the folder you sync and the photo library.  There are noe two copies, simply two places from which to access the same photo.
If you add several folders/albums, then all pics can be accessed from photo library, and the same photos can be accessed from their respective folders.

  • I add pictures to existing web page using iweb(3.0.1) and new pictures show in all browsers EXCEPT firefox. Previous patches seem only good for iweb 2.X

web page created with iweb (3.0.1). worked great in firefox, then I added additional photos to an existing web page. All other browsers see these new pictures EXCEPT firefox. There seems to have been a previous issue with new pages, but fix appears only fro iweb2.x
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== new photos added to existing page

Do you see any error messages about getElementsByClassName in the Tools > Error Console ?
That was the problem with content generated with an older version of iWeb.
Content that has been generated with such an older version needs to be regenerated with that never version and uploaded to the web server.
Never versions of iWeb should cause any problems.
    Can you post a link?

  • Aperture, Photo Stream and new iPhone

My wife just got her first iPhone but was disappointed when she looked at Photo Stream and only about 85 shots showed - I guess the ones that were sent to the iCloud in the past 30 days. She wanted some of the older ones.
So - figuring I would be a good hubby - I went into Aperture, where there are about 550 shots showing in Photo Stream, going back to last year. But when I selected some of the older ones and said "share in Photo Stream" they would not appear on her phone. I am assuming this is because Aperture still sees them as "being in Photo Stream" and therefore sees no reason to "add them to Photo Stream". How do I get around this? Do I have to delete them from the Aperture copy of Photo Stream (they are not on either iPhone nor my iPad Mini) and then re-share them from the actual Aperture library?
    Thanks for any assistance.

First of all you need to be using the same AppleID on her iPhone and the Mac with Aperture in order to see the same "My Photo Stream". (I'm assuming you are or you wouldn't see any of the photos. But just in case...)
There is more than one Photo Stream. Your main Photo Stream is called "My Photo Stream". This is only visible to Macs and iOS devices signed into the same AppleID. You can have other "Shared Photo Streams" that you can share with other AppleIDs or even publicly using a URL.
To share a photo to Photo Stream, you select it in the browser and choose (right-click) Share->Photo Stream and a dialog will appear. Within this dialog there's a popup menu that determines where to share it. You can select "New Photo Stream" which will create a new Shared Photo Stream. Or if you've already created some Shared Photo Streams, they will appear in the menu and you can add to them.
There's an additional entry in that menu called "My Photo Stream". This doesn't appear if the photo you are sharing is already in the My Photo Stream location in Aperture. So you cannot add a photo in My Photo Stream to My Photo Stream if that is where it is already located in Aperture. If you select a photo from inside a project in Aperture you will then see the "My Photo Stream" entry in the Share->Photo Stream dialog.
    Solutions for you:
To get a photo back into My Photo Stream for other devices to see, go to the project where the photo lives and Share->Photo Stream and select "My Photo Stream". By default, Aperture imports all Photo Stream photos into a monthly project automatically. If you disabled this in preferences, you could manually import it using drag and drop from My Photo Stream to a project in the library sidebar.
To get a photo into a Shared Photo Stream, select it and choose Share->Photo Stream and select New Photo Stream from the popup menu. Give it a name and description. If your wife is using the same AppleID, it will automatically show up on her iPhone in the Photos->Photo Stream app. If she is using her own AppleID, you can share it with her by adding her AppleID in the share dialog.

  • IPhoto deleted my new pictures

I attached my camera to the computer, as usual, and had downloaded the whole batch and "automatically deleted" the pictures off the camera. All the pictures were showing up in iPhoto and the process was done, but for some reason iPhoto froze. I waited for a bit, then I quit the program and restarted it. When I did, it said something about the last roll of pictures had not been imported, did I want to finish that process, so I checked yes and the pictures showed up but iPhoto froze again.
So I just rebooted the whole computer, and now the last roll of photos are NOWHERE to be found - they're deleted off my camera so I can't get them off again, and I can't find them anywhere on my computer. Where could they be? I really want those pictures!

You can recover them from your camera’s card with an app such as MediaRecover.
It’s never a good idea to allow anything to delete data automatically. You can reformat your card using your camera - takes a couple of seconds.

  • Old .mac photo pages and new iweb pages

I have photo albums and movies previously published on a .mac homepage. I also have new photo album pages published through iweb. Are the two connected or related in any way? Do I just have to republish the old pages through iweb, or should they be linked or transferred. Is there any published information about this stuff anywhere?

Sure you can. You can provide links and redirection html pages back and forth between .Mac Homepages and iWeb pages. WillG4PB has put together a nice tutorial that I will refer you to...

  • Is the a way to store old and new pictures on iCloud?  I have 30 years worth....

Idealy I also would like to exceed the 60 g max space.  Is this possible.

I don't believe you can get more than 50 GB of additional storage but I may well be wrong. However storing your photos in iCloud would be impractical, using documents and data storage puts a copy of everything on all your macs, so it won't achieve the goal of feeing up space for you.
PhotoStream only stores your latest 1,000 photos, there ways to include older pictures as your latest but they'd ultimately be replaced by newer photos anyway.

  • Photo Booth and Account Picture no go?

Believe it or not I just discovered Photo Booth on my new iMac. Just a question about how it works. After taking the picture and clicking on the image you have several options, send the image to an email, send the image to your iChat account, and send the picture to your Account preferences as your login picture. The first two options work as advertised, the last doesn't seem to work. I take the picture, click the image, and then click the Accounts option tab. According to the Photo Booth Help documents this should cause the Accounts preferences panel to open and make the photo your login image. When I click the Accounts tab nothing happens. If I actually open the Accounts preferences panel, click on the login image and select Edit... I can take the picture there and it works fine.
Anyone else seeing this behavior? Has something changed with version 2.0 of Photo Booth?

Well, how about this then? Can anyone confirm that they are able to add a picture to their Login account using the current version of Photo Booth (v2.0.2)?

  • Photos deleted and did not backup in itunes.

I have an iPad 2. The photos have been lost and more sad is that i did not backup it in itunes. Is there any ways for me to retrieve the photos back?

If the photos were (only) in Camera Roll and they were not backed up in etiher iTunes or iCloud, they are gone.

  • Photo Albums?   I have Camera Roll, Photo Library, and Picture.... why?

I have 3 categories under my Photo albums on my iphone. Camera Roll, Photo Library, and Picture. Now looking at these three options shows 125 pictures in the Camera roll, 84 Pictures in the Photo Library, and 81 Pictures in the Picture option.... Now the problem I have is they are all the same pictures, just seems they are all in the Roll and some in the others. What I need to know is why? why purpose does this have, and how do I delete them from one, or will it delete them from all? would hate to have to think I have to delete them each 3 times... Not sure why it is like this but hoping the reason is simple and understandable. do different applications use pics from different categories? I am confused.

You certainly CAN create as many albums as you want. You do this by first creating the albums on your desktop, then syncing those albums to the iPhone. You can use Adobe Albums, but you don't need it.
If not you can actually use the My Pictures folder, but I don't recommend that. Instead, create a new folder in My Documents. I call mine "iPod Pictures" (because I sync them to my iPod also). In "iPod Pictures" create sub-folders; name each one with the name of an album. Now copy the pictures you want on the iPhone into the appropriate "album" sub-folder. I shrink them to 640x480 in the process to save memory on the iPhone, but this is optional. It's easiest to do this with a photo editor like Microsoft Photo or the one I prefer, Google Picasa. It is free at picasa.google.com.
Finally, put the iPhone in the dock and wait for it to appear in iTunes. Click on the iPhone in the left panel, then on the Photos tab. At the top there is a box labeled "Sync Photos From:" Click on the box and select the "iPod Pictures" folder. Then choose "All Photos" or "Selected Folders" as you prefer and sync. Each sub-folder will become an album on the iPhone.
Any time you add or remove a folder or a photo in a folder the next time you sync the iPhone will be updated with the change.
