Photos do not automatically open in osx mail

Recently I have found that in mail, attachmnets that are photos no longer appear automatically in the preview pane. Instead a question mark appears where the photo should be. If , however, I use the quick look option all the photos are there. I would appreciate any help with this as this problem has recently happened.

Oh man.. I just watched in MacTV that one cannot see the photos in I-Cloud.com..... I thought that this is possible because with Mobile Me it was. Well, this is a pity. Sorry for the "stupid" question...

You don't import your iPhoto Library, you open it in Photos.
Hold down the alt/options key and double click the Photos icon, while holding both keys firmly down. This will bring up the Library Chooser panel. Select your iPhoto Library from the panel. Photos will create an upgraded copy of your iPhoto Library, that will link to the originals in the iPhoto library, so that the photos need not to be duplicated. (Photos saves disk space by sharing images with your iPhoto or Aperture libraries - Apple Support)
Afterwards you will have two libraries, the old iPhoto Library, renamed with "Migrated" in the name, and the new photos library.

That problem isn't related to Private Browsing specifically, that's how Firefox works with regards to multiple "sessions" with the same server - only one logon is allowed at any time. Try using one of these extensions to be able to run multiple session cookies.

When I click on a picture, Photoshop Elements 12 does not automatically open (as it did when I used previous versions Photoshop Elements 4 and 9). I can't even right-click (Windows) on the picture and choose Open With and specifiy Photoshop Elements 12. I have called Adobe several times (Case No. 185140584) and they keep saying it has been sent up to senior management and they will call me back with a solution - but to no avail! No return calls and I still can't really use the Product I paid for and downloaded. The only way I can open up a picture to edit it is to open Photoshop Elements 12 and then then click "Open" and then search for the picture on my hard drive (which takes a lot more time! I did not experience this difficulty at all with versions 4 or 9!

You failed to say which Windows system you have - I can get the "Open With" to work on my Windows 7 64bit system.
When you try to set up the "Open With", are you setting the correct target program?
It's the green one (not the red one) in the above image.
Once you have selected that program, make sure you set it as default so that a double click will open the photo in the editor.

sure pretty simple. make a backup of your current settings

then import pics to computer

then restore the new backup and sync pics back to phone via itunes

When Safari launches, tap in the address field (the one on the left) and type "www.google.com" then hit the "Go" button.
After the page finishes loading, hit the "Action" button (the middle button on the bottom button bar that looks like an arrow coming out of a rectangle) and select "Add to Bookmarks" to add the Google page to your bookmarks.
After that, you can hit the Bookmarks button (the button that looks like an open book in the bottom button bar) to access the Google bookmark you just created.

The issue is with iPhoto. When it opens it is looking for a photo that either no longer exists or is misplaced. I would post I the iPhoto forum where those experts are.

Why will images will not automatically load in apple mail despite having the setting turned on correctly

I have had this ongoing problem. I cannot get images to automatically load in mail. Instead I always have to click the load images button. I click on a message, click load images, the images load. I click on another message, then back to the message with the images and have to reload them.
In preferneces I have turned the View>Load remote HTML images on and off and on again, and rebotted multiple times. It makes no difference. The images do not load.
I checked Little Snitch, but all ports are open.
My firewall is set to let everything connect to mail. Even just turning off the firewall does not solve the problem.
I tried removing com.apple.mail.plist but that did not work either.
This problem occurs in Mail on a MacBook Pro and on a MacBook Air both using the newest version of OS Mountain Lion. The problem happened in OS Lion as well.
The senders are in my contacts, so that doesn't help either.
This is not an issue with the serve sending the images. The images load if I click load images. They just will not automatically laod.
I've read tons of posts but no one seems to know how to solve the problem.
Does anyone have any other ideas?

This is not a problem specific to Lion, but most recent OS X versions. Regularly I receive email formatted as HTML, which includes JPEG images embedded within them. These images are technically attachments, and as such, Mail.app displays them as a placeholder. Other mail apps will display these images inline, regardless of them being an attachment, remote image or otherwise.
How can I make these images load automatically?

No-one replied, but I found a solution on another board. Run Terminal (do a Spotlight search if you don't know where to find this), and type:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool false
This will force Mail not to disable inline attachment viewing. Obviously, to reverse this, simple replace 'false' at the end with 'true'.

Thanks for reading this post. When openning a PDF file attachment within an email or a link from a website, Adobe does not automatically launch to view the documents. In fact, the file conversion screen pops up instead when I select the 'open' tab from the attachment. When I click the 'save' option, the save file type only includes HTLM and ALL Files..... this is odd why PDF is not a save type option. Anyway, any assistance to alievate this problem will be helpful. This is very frustration.... I was also wondering if this could be my Norton 360 that is causing these problems....

Bill was suggesting an alternative approach, making this the default setting in distiller. This is a preference settings in Distiller. I don't have Acrobat 9 on my Windows machine, but this is what is looks like on the Mac:

Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Connect your iPhone and check to see if the same problem persists.

Combine supported files is not automatically opening and closing source applications?

On my Vista 64 machine, suddenly, the "Combine supported files in Acrobat" has begun malfunctioning. Instead of automatically opening and closing the source application (such as MS Word), Acrobat opens the application and then asks to save a new PDF file for each source file and stalls out the conversion. This problem is not happening on my Win XP machine. I have used the 'Repair Acrobat Installation' function but the problem is not corrected.

Just to close out this thread, the bug was fixed with the latest version of Acrobat Pro Extended (9.3.3).

Photo stream is not automatically uploading to our PC. Did check to make sure photo stream is checked on. Have been able to use this within the past few weeks and now it won't work.

On your iPhone, tap Settings > iCloud
Switch Photos off then back on.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.

Photos are not automatically marked for republishing

I use Lightroom 5.2 and Photoshop CC. I also use a number of publish services. If I use Lightroom to edit a photo that has previously been published, it will be marked automatically for republishing. If I use Photoshop to edit a photo that has been previously published (in this case a .PSD) and I select Edit Original to preserve layers in the file, Lightroom does not seem to recognize that the photo has been edited externally, and does not automatically tag the photo for republishing. It happens this wal with all of the installed publish services.
Is this normal behavior, or have I inadvertently changed a Lightroom setting that prevents this from happening the way it should? It's quite annoying, and I have convinced myself that previously it did not operate this way.

Each publish service is free to override the defaults, and some definitely do.
That said, I too believe there are bugs in this - I have the opposite problem: files are getting marked for republish which should NOT be.
One thing to note: editing the original should never mark for republish unless the original is in the publish collection. If you are actually publishing the edited tiff output from Photoshop, then that should be what's in the published collection, and if nothing has changed from a publish service point of view (e.g. ratings, keywords, ... - note: image data is not one of the items), it would be the "date created" which triggers it, so try changing that date and see if my theory is correct.
Hmm - it seems dateModified should be in there too, but it's not - hmm... (maybe that's the problem: date-created not changing (?))

Thank you for your question, I understand that it is annoying to have to move a new window to the second screen. Since it opens in the active screen this may have been a stored preference, however it is not the default.
There is an add on called [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/monitor-master/ Monitor Master] that customizes settings like this. Check it out.
