Photos do not open in emails I recieve. They do open in Safari.

When I receive an email with photos attached the thumbnails do not open. I can download them but not see them in the email.

I recently upgraded from an iPad 1 to an Air. One of its main uses is to avoid printing volumes of papers for meetings, so the abilty to open attachments with mail is pretty important.
There are some attachments that will not open in the mail application on an iPad Air. Some in the same format do (docx). They do open in Mail on my MacBook, and iPad1, or if I go to webmail on any device including a Blackberry, so it is not a file corruption problem. The problem persists on different networks. Other emails from the same sender do work. It seems to be specifically related to IOS 7 or the Mail app. Quickview won't work, nor will opening with a range of Apps which report a file error.
There was an historical problem with Apple garbling pdf files, but this is a new one on me.
All this is a shame because it is opening emails in attachments that was one of my main reasons for buying an Air.
Does anyone know of the cause? A solution?

What about a work-around?
Ios 7.1 etc. has a problem with communicating with exchange. There are lots of reports of problems with pdf files.

Imbedded Images(photos) are not displayed in emails (yahoo7mail), its ok using IE9

When opening emails, only the text is displayed any photos are not shown. Was ok with FF3 and works ok with IE9.

How did you put the photos on yhour iPhone? Did you take them with the iPhone? If so and you have PS enabled on the iPhone they will be added to the PS on your iPad (as long as it's enabled also)

When I try and open Microsoft Word 2011 documents on my IMAC they start opening one after another at a rapid speed and I can't stop it. I reboot and same thing happens. The documents open in rapid succession on their own and don't stop until I force close or after maybe 100 or more open I start getting the following message for each document attemting to open "This document could not be registered. It will not be possible to create links from other documents to this document" and then in paretheses the name of the document. After I click okay another trys to open. Any suggestions?

If you had multiple documents open and quit the app without closing all of the docs first, it will open them again when you launch the app. Open Word, and then close all the documents, you may be asked to save the document, if the document was already saved but you made changes to it before you quit the app, you may need to save the changes first, shorcut ( command and s keys). After you close all of the documents then quit the app and restart the computer. See if this works.

Photos are not attachments when emailed

My friend and I have identical iPhones. When I attach a photo from the camera roll in an email and send it to myself or her, it is embedded as a photo and also is an attachment. Our email provider is the same also. When she does the same thing, the email arrives with the embedded photo but there is no attachment and we cannot extract the photo at all -- right clicking does not give us a save as option. This is truly annoying -- there has to be a setting difference. Can someone help?

Okay so I used the wrong terminology. The problem is that when she sends the email from her phone with the photo that the file is not attached. So you cannot get the photo out of the email. It shows in the email message itself but there is no way to remove it from the email. Yet when I use the same process and send it, it is attached and I can remove it from the email.

Not enough information to know, but you might try rebooting your iPad. Press and hold both the home and power buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds (hold past the swipe to shut down bar if it appears) until the Apple logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart. Try emailing a picture and let us know if this worked for you.

Cannot directly open the browser from the icon. "problem loading webpage" and "timed out" are the messages. Access was accomplished by using yahoo messenger and opening my email. if I attempt to open a new page, I recieve the aforementioned warnings.

When a message comes in from a site such as Amazon or Shutterfly the site itself does not open when the email is opened. I need to click on a long web string to open the message. How did you install GarageBand on your Mac? Did it come preinstalled with the other iLife applications?
If your MacOS supports the AppStore, you should be able to redownload GarageBand from the AppStore, see this support Article: OS X: About OS X Recovery on how to download again:

Hi ..
Click Reply one more time then use the Command + Option + F to exit full screen mode.
Quit then relaunch Mail.
See if it opens in the default window size.

My photos are not importing properly into iPhoto! They import successfully but never appear in my library!

Whenever I import photos recently they will be in the Last Import folder but when I click my photo library they are not in it. And then when I go back to last import they aren't in there anymore. I have already lost a lot of pictures since I always select the delete off of memory card option after importing. I think it is ever since I upgraded to Lion. HELP!

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

The icons were probably removed from the dock... you can go to your applications folder and open up the programs from there... when the program is open you can right click on the icon and go to options, keep in dock.

My photos are not in order on my ipad - they are all in order in i-photo
