Photos dropped from emails

When I send an email and attach a photo it drops the photo

Can you see the old photos in the backups?  (If you're not sure how, see the pink box in #15 of Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.)  If so, try restoring a few that way;   if that works, try restoring whole groups.
If that doesn't help, try repairing your backups, per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.
If still no help, there are a couple of long shots in #E9 of that same link.

Unable to to save photo attachments from emails in ios7

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Photos saved from email & internet

There is a malfunction of my pictures that I've saved from email. When I go to the camera roll where they are saved (BTW, you can't choose the place in which you save them and you really have no way of telling if it was saved, except to instinctively go to your photos and check on it once you've hit the save button in your email) first of all the images are not clear and the phone freezes up or the screen starts to shake and eventually shuts off or I have to manually shut it off by holding the top and home button simultaneously.
How can this be fixed, or is this a bug that apple will fix in the next software upgrade?
I would like to get this fixed asap...any suggestions?

Check my post. Somebody helped me with this issue. I had the exact same thing happen to me. Try accessing your iPhone, once connected, through My Computer (if you have a PC), then locate the iPhone icon. Once you double-click, the picture will appear. Select the ones you're having a problem with (you saved from an email) and delete them. That's the only way I know how to fix this issue. Other people have the same problem. It seems that if the pic's too big - iphone cannot open it or does not open it correctly, So much for saving pictures taken with a 8 Mega px camera. This should work.

  • How to send photo IM from email account not iCloud account

My iPhone 5 and Ipad2  are sending photo IM's from my iCloud account.  I want to change to be sent from my Personal email account.

IM is imessage and uses your apple id for imessage to send something. If you personal email account is not apple id, you can only use it for email and not imessage. If it is you need to sign in with it into settings -messages.

  • Photos downloaded from emails accessed only through Finder

When someone sends me photos attached to an email and I want to save them in iPhoto along with my own photos, I click on save and tell them to go to iPhoto Library. Then if I go to iPhoto, they are not there. The only place I can find them is go to Finder, click on iPhoto Library and there they are. But I want them in with the rest of my photos. How do I get them there?
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

You cannot save into your iPhoto Library folder from outside of iPhoto; files that are not properly Imported will not be recognized by the database.
What you can do is save the emailed photo to your desktop, then import to iPhoto (either by dragging into iPhoto or by File > Import to Library), then delete the copy from the desktop.
If you haven't yet, you can go into your iPhoto Library folder and drag the photos you placed in there out to your desktop. Just be careful not to change anything else while you are there, as any changes made to your iPhoto Library folder from the Finder can damage your library.

  • Photos dropped from Mac & Time Capsule

My problem started last week when iPhoto dropped all photos (about 6500) saved since 2006 (when i got my Mac).  iPhoto now only shows photos saved prior to 2006 from files that were not in iPhoto previously (?).
When I try to have Time Capsule restore photos from the lost dates (2006-2011), I get a blank Time Capsule page showing "downloading photos" but after hours of waiting, no photos appear, nor are there any file names in left column.
Problem probably started while I was trying to set up a new program - maybe Mobile Me or iDisk.
I'm quite sure lost photos have not been deleted, but that I somehow locked them out.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

  • Importing photo attachments from email to Camera Roll

What is the easiest way to do this? Thanks

The only way is to get them on iPhoto and iTunes, then sync the iPhone. In other words, access your email on your computer, then save your photos to iPhoto, and then transfer them across during the sync. No way to do this just using the iPhone, that I know of.

  • Photos dropped from keynote presentation

I am experiencing a repeated yet inconsistent problem with images losing their links in my keynote presentations.
    Example:
I have a presentation in Keynote that was created from a new document, using a custom theme that I created several months ago.
The file has several images in it, mostly .jpg and some .pdf
After opening and editing it over several days, and versioning up on revisions, I saved it from our server to my local drive (MacBook Pro).
When I opened the file while traveling I found that over half of the images were no longer in place. They had been replaced by grey boxes with question marks, each indicating a missing file.
What causes images in a keynote file to lose their link? I've not found any suitable answer in the Help section or from browsing previously Q&A threads.
It acts like an InDesign file, only the option to relink images or package the file before saving it to a new location doesn't seem to be present.
    Please help!
    thank you.

  • Unable to access Photo Stream from email invite

I have been invited to a photo stream by a friend via an email to my Gmail account. When I click the 'Join this photo stream' link it takes me to a page telling me that I need OSX 10.8.2, iPhoto 9.4, be logged in to iCloud and press the 'Join this photo stream' link again. I have fulfilled all of this however it just keeps returning me to this page instead of allowing me to join the photo stream. Does anybody know how to solve this? Thanks.

Did you get this in the email?
If so try the link at the bottom of the email.

  • Accessing photos downloaded from email

I have been saving photos sent to me on my hotmail account to iPhoto...but, when I go to access them in iPhoto they aren't in my Library. I've found the photos saved in a "modified" folder/format and cannot move them to my Library. How can I resolve this?

    gemini75:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Do you have an option of where to download photos from your hotmail account? If so do not save them anywhere inside the iPhoto LIbrary folder. Same them to the desktop where you can then add them to the library. iPhoto will not import any files that reside anywhere inside it's library folder. So if those files in the Modified folder do not exist in the Originals folder try moving them to the desktop and import from there.
As a precaution until you're sure that's the case, make a backup copy of your library folder to fall back on if things don't go as expected.

  • Why can't I drag & drop photos to my email anymore?

The old IPhoto let me just drop and drag a photo onto the bottom part of my e-mail screen (gmail) and it would -boom- just upload as an attachment.  I didn't have to open up the attachments folder finder and waste time.  I updated my MacBook the other day and now with the new Photos, this function is no longer possible.  Why?  Do I have to change a setting or something?
    Thanks

Simply use the Share feature of Photos
    Use Mail to share photos
You can use Mail to email photos directly from Photos. When you use Mail to send photos in an email, Photos sends it from the first account listed in your Mail preferences. If you have other email accounts set up in Mail preferences, you can select which email account to send the email from when you send it.
Tip: If you have many files or large files to send, you can use Mail Drop to send them. You must have an iCloud account to use Mail Drop. You can use Mail Drop to send attachments up to 5 GB in size right from Mail on your Mac, or from icloud.com/mail on your Mac or PC. All file types are supported and attachments don’t count against your iCloud storage.
Select the photos you want to send. You can send photos from your photo library or an album, but not from a slideshow or a project (such as a book, card, or calendar).
Click the Share button in the toolbar and choose Mail.Mail opens a mail message with your photos attached.
Type the recipient’s email address in the To field, then type a subject line in the Subject field.
Type a message if you want, then click Send.

  • Signature photo broken when emailing from iPhoto

I have a photo above my name in my default signature in Mail. When I click the Email" button in iPhoto to send photos via email, my signature photo shows up as and icon that reads "Untitled (82kb)".
The photo in my signature works FINE if I create a new email, but not in the new emails that iPhoto creates with the pictures attached.
I added the photo to the signature field in Mail's preferences by dragging and dropping the .JPG file from the Finder. That, and copying and pasting seems to be the only way to put a photo in a signature. Neither method works when initiating an email from iPhoto.
    Mail 2.1
    iphoto 5.0.4
    Any ideas, anyone?
    Thanks!

    Marius,
set the mailer in the iPhoto Preferences to "Mail.app", not to "iPhoto"
    iPhoto > Preferences > General
              Email Photos using: Mail
This way you will be able to mail your photos directly from iPhoto, but you cannot use the iPhoto cards; use the Mail Photo stationary instead, once the mail panel opens.
For some reason mailing using iPhoto as Mailer works for me only, if I am mailing from my iCloud accoun,t and if Mail is set to use the iCloud account by default.

  • How do I save photos from email to the photo library?

How do I save photos from email to the photo library? I've seen an online demo of users that hold their finger or thumb over the image for a few seconds and a "save photo" window option appears. That doesn't work on my 6-month old iphone. It's version 1.1.4 (4a102) ???? Help! Anybody with an answer?

Never mind. I figured out the 2.0 update. My system wasn't updating I-tunes...and the I-phone update option window was hidden behind some other system information. I figured it out. The download, install and re-synch took about an hour. Lots of horror stories out there about people trying to activate their new I-phones. Glad this worked for me!

  • How Do I Import Photos from Email To Iphoto

How do i drag the photos from an email and put them on my desktop? And after that, how do i import the photos on the desktop to iphoto library?

    Hi Mark,
Click on the photo in the email and hold down the clicker and drag the photo to the desktop. Now drag the photo on top of the iPhoto icon in the dock and iPhoto will open and import it. If iPhoto is already open, drag the photo into iPhoto's viewing window.
