Photos edited using iOS 8 not importing as edited...

I am editing photos using the native photos app on my 5s, running iOS 8.3. I am importing from an iPhone 5s (iOS 8.3) via USB cable to a MBP running Yosemite 10.10.3.
The edited photos are not retaining their edits. They import as the original (unedited) imports.
Anyone else experiencing this?

After having the same problem with my 2013 Chevy Equinox, I did a factory reset of my iPhone 5s and re-installed IOS 8 from scratch.
I used my iTunes backup to restore my apps, contacts, photo ..etc
Since I did that, I was able to connect my phone via bluetooth to my Chevy Equinox, make phone calls, listen to music ..etc
So far so good. I made about 10 calls, stopped the car, restarted the car and reconnected the phone and it worked.
I wonder if the upgrade from IOS 7 to IOS 8 is not working properly and causing problems with Bluetooth. It seems that a full install after a factory reset fixed my problem.
Hopefully, it is the end of the nightmare. Good luck.

  • How do I manage Lightroom photos when using 2 computers, keeping all edits made on either one?

Based on http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1308132?tstart=0 I decided to add each question seperately:
Hello, I'm quite interested in buying Lightroom 5.2. I tried the RC which ran out now. Yet, I have a several questions that I can't really find good conclusive answers to, that I'd like to get answered before buying LR. Please don't write maybe like this or that (assumptions), since I don't want to start my whole workflow and then realize that I have to change everything around, so please answer, if you know for sure that something works and you are, preferably, using that method too.
This is the biggest question, where I mainly want a conclusive answer:  How do I manage Lightroom photos when using 2 computers, keeping all edits made on either one of them, using the same photos for editing. I won't use DNG. Details: I mainly use my older MacBook Pro, but would like to be able to use my PC as it's way better (Specs: i5 2500K, 16GB RAM, SSD, USB3, nVidia GTX 560 TI etc.). I have 2 external HDs that I could use, one for Backup and one for the actual Photos/Edits. I'll probably need to use it as my internal HDs are quite full, and I can't just delete stuff or move it to an (Developer programs, Lossless music, etc.).
Based on this, how do I back up the whole thing e.g. Photos folder (all photos and edits, and preferably presets too)?

I believe it should be possible to work cross-platform without having to relink files each time, or without having to keep exporting/importing the catalog, by keeping the single catalog and the image library on the one external drive which is then switched between systems as needed.
Obvious first requirement is an external drive that is formatted in such a way (e.g FAT32) that it can be used on both platforms in read/write mode. Given that, if the catalog AND the images parent folder are both established at the same level in one overall parent folder, then it should be possible to take advatage of Lightroom's ability to use relative paths rather than absolute paths to detect the images, no matter if the drive is named (Mac) or lettered (PC). This is how "export as Catalog" works, i.e. it creates a "package", aka a parent folder, containing the catalog and a replica of the exported images folder hierarchy alongside the catalog. Take that "package" to another system (same OS or not) and "it just works" even if the drive letter is different or the OS is different....because the relative path from catalog to images is still the same.
I haven't tested this cross-platform (though I have between different PC systems with different drive letters) so for me it's still just a theory, but there may be others who have done this successfully.

  • After upgrading to Yosemite (I don't have iPhoto anymore, only PHOTOS) my pictures will not import from my iPad or iPhone 5s or any picture from web, it shows "Database Error: failured to persist version"

After upgrading to Yosemite (I don't have iPhoto anymore, only PHOTOS) my pictures will not import from my iPad or iPhone 5s or any picture from web, it shows "Database Error: failured to persist version".  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Sorry,
Yes, the error message is exactly like that  ("Database error: failured to persist version")
No photos will import at all.  I use USB to import from iPhone 5s or iPad 2.
About the difference?  iPhoto and Photos .  Are there two softwares?
I also will like to merge and/or synchronize all my photos I had saved to iCloud backups, Macbook Pro,  iPhone 5s and iPad hard drives using iPhoto.  It's call iPhoto library.  At one point I turned off streaming.
    Thanks again Larry HN.

  • I have used Lr many years without problems. Now it is inpossible to edit . Can not see the editing in main window only in the small thumbnail. Suddenly it is not possible to import  raw-files from my Linux camera ( it worked earlier)

Editing mode does not work. I can not follow de editing in the main window. I cah see it in the thumbnail.

From your description of the problem, I suspect that you have a standalone license but have downloaded and installed the CC update. Or, it's the other way around. In either case, you need to install the right version.

  • Photos in library but not imported

If the photos are in the library but are not imported then where are they and how do I find them? I keep getting a dialog box when I start iphoto that tells me that iphoto found photos in the library that were not imported and asks if I would like to import them. If I say no it imports them anyway and asks me again the next time i start iphoto so i now have over 400 copies of the same photo. So now every time I start iphoto it finds the same photo and all the copies in the library but they are not imported so I want to go find wherever they are and delete them for good so that dialog box goes away when I start iphoto...help!

    shatton:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Close iPhoto, open the library package like this and look for a folder with "Import" in its title. If you find one move it to the desktop and launch iPhoto. Note if you get that message or not. If not then try importing the contents of the Import folder you moved to the desktop.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Photos uploading using ios 7

I can sent a status via iOS but when it cames to upload photo it appears via mobile not ios.. But im using an iphone 4s

I was having the same issue also.
I could not understand why I am getting Faces on my iPhone 5 when I have not checked any people in the Faces section of the Sync Dialogue Box.
I found another discussion that has a reasonable explanation:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/22808702#22808702
It explains that any photo you have chosen to import to your phone that has a Face already identified will automatically be sorted by Faces ALSO, meaning in addition being put into the seclected Album you may have chosen and also identifies and sorts your chosen Photos by Faces.
You will notice if you look at a particular Faces Album that not all of the Faces of that person are on the phone, only that Person's Face from your imported phone photos.
I think you would find it is not duplicating the photo twice, but it is just being additionally identified in the Faces section
I hope I have not confused you more.

  • Photos found that were not imported

    Hi,
I am totally new to the Mac having just bought a new iMac (was still using Windows this time last week) and am starting to use iPhoto. Sorry if this is a really obvious question, I'm just starting to get used to things!
Every time I launch iPhoto '09 I am getting the message "2 Photos have been found in the iPhoto Library that were not imported. Would you like to import them?" If I select yes, the message comes up again, I select yes again and the application says it is importing, it creates a new folder in iPhoto called Recovered photos but it is empty. If I select No I get a message saying the photos have been placed in the folder Users/name/Pictures/iPhoto Library Recovered Photos_x with x being a number which increases on each occasion. Inside each of these folders are 2 files which look like long Hexidecimal numbers, I cannot do anything with the files other than delete them. Can anyone help???
    Thanks in advance,
    Colin

this is one of the very, very few times you should make a change to your iPhoto library using the finder - quit iPhoto and go to your pictures folder and right click (control click) on the iPhoto library and select the show package contents command - find the folder in the iPhoto library names import (or importing) and drag it to the desktop - launch iPhoto and you will be ok
Open the import(ing) folder on the desktop and if there are photos in it that you want in iPhoto import them -then trash the import(ing) folder
And remember that as a normal rule you should never make any changes to the content or structure of the iPhoto library - doing so can corrupt your library and may cause you to lose data

  • Photos in iphoto library not imported

Whenever I start up iphoto, an error message appears
"58 photos have been found in the iPhoto Library that were not imported. Would you like to import them?"
When I click no, the following message appears:
"The photos have been placed in the folder/..../Pictures/iPhoto Library Recovered Photos_5"
This happens every time I started up iPhotos and this cramps up the hard disks, can anyone help?
    Thanks.

Check your version of iPhoto - you have iPhoto '08 not iPhoto 6 - posting in the correct forum is critical because there are differences between them and you will get incorrect advise if you are not in the correct forum for your software
For iPhoto '08, Right click (control click on a single button mouse) on the iPhoto library and select "show package contents" from the resulting menu - do not change anything except to drag the import(ing) folder - not the auto import folder - to the desktop
this will take care of your problem

  • Opening iPhoto message to say photos found that were not imported.

On opening iPhoto I get the message '23 photos have been found in the iPhoto Library that were not imported.'  I get the offer to import them and answering either yes or no makes no difference. This message is then repeated.  In iPhotos I get a number of 'Recovered Photos' folders with nothing in them.  Whats happening- are there some photoes lost in a file somewhere?

    Do the following:
1 - go to your library in the Pictures folder and open it by Control-clicking on it and selecting "Show Package Contents" from the contextual menu.
2 - look for a folder titled "Importing" or "Import" (NOT "Auto Import). 3 - move that folder to the Desktop. 4 - launch iPhoto.
iPhoto should now open without that warning.  You can check the photo(s) inside that folder on the  Desktop to see if you want to save and import it.  Then you can delete that folder.

  • Photo found that was not imported

Every time i open iphoto, the following error message comes up:
a photo has been found in the iphoto library that was not imported. would you like to import it?
If i say no, it does nothing but the same message comes up next time.
If i say yes, an error comes up saying the following file is missing and cant be imported:
    /Users/ME/Pictures/iPhoto Library Recovered Photos/PHOTO.jpg
The "iPhoto Library Recovered Photos" folder is created again each time i open iphoto. the file inside is a photo which i can view with preview but it says its a "Unix executable file". The problem is that i have no idea where this photo is and i dont want it imported.
    Any help appreciated

my message says: "a photo has been found in the iphoto library that was not imported"
also: my iPhoto Library is not a folder but a file; there is no folder called "import" or similar so i cannot drag anything.
every time, the computer create a folder called "Recovered photos". and a different one every time, with incremental numbers: "Recovered photos1", "Recovered photos2", etc.
    what to do?

  • AirPad2 pictures will not import as edited.

Edited several thousand pictures in last month. Just imported them and all edits disappeared. Crops, color, saturation, everything. What happened. All original pictures imported.  What did I do wrong?

Forgot to mention that all edits were edited and saved using the default Apple iOS 8.2 picture editor. No external app was used. They export to an iP6+ correctly.  While importing to my PC it was obvious that the edits were not coming across.  Several pictures edited to black and white came across in the default original color picture.  Then I noticed that all edits were lost. A full months worth.  There must be an answer to what I am doing incorrectly.

  • Photoshop elements not importing iphone edits, reverting to originals

Apple support told me Photoshop Elements is one of 5 applications that import iPhone pictures that have been edited in the iPhone photo software as they are edited.  So I downloaded Photoshop elements and attempted my first import.  Sadly, the pictures reverted to their pre-edited originals, the same problem I've been experiencing with my  non-mac laptop.  Any assistance appreciated...

    ok. Night three...
    and some photos!
completed another uninstall/install downloaded fresh from the site.
downloaded the 6.4.1 update manually from the adobe site and opened it from the desktop.
    get the usual;
i click on the red adobepatchinstaller icon and i get this..
meanwhile, all my .cr2 files are greyed out when in photoshop/file/open
Tried to open my RAW .cr2 images in the adobe dng converter, but i just get this..
get the same message when trying to open the raw file through elements.
    and finally!
when i go to the actual file, right click and open with photoshop, i get
All this happens when i also go through the automated process of 'elements/update' to get the latest camera raw plugin.
It also confirms that i have the latest version (6.4.1) when i go to Photoshop Elements / About Plugin / Camera RAW
Elements is working fine in all other areas. I have even managed to get hold of a .dng file and opened that up fine...
    Any ideas, anyone?

  • Some photos (iPhoto '08 will not import to iMovie '08

I am creating a photo slideshow in iMovie '08 using my photos (iPhoto '08). Occasionally a photo refuses to be imported (drag and drop) no matter how I crop or edit it. Nor will they go into an album. I don't encounter this problem with hundreds of other photos, only 4 or 5 which are otherwise no different. Should I try to re-scan these troublesome photos to resolve this?

thank you so much for the suggestion. I have yet to try it but will respond again when I do. AppleCare also recommended re-scanning the few photos in question (at least so far). Have not had time to try either but will respond either way when I do.

  • Photos ordered using iPhoto not delivered

Two weeks ago I ordered photos through iPhoto and Apples print service. Apple sent a confirmation that stated my order has been received and photos have been shipped USPS. They did not offer any tracking number. It has been 15 days since this message and the photos still have not been delivered. This is the first time I had the photos shipped to a third party address. Who do I contact to have the photos reshipped or find out what happened?
    Thank you,
