Photos - Extracting From iPod

Hi All
I am having trouble accessing the photos stored on my daughters iPod (4th Generation) - currently each time we access the iPod it re-boots if we select the photos option.
Is there anyway / software tool of extracting the pictures that are stored on iPod - sadly we don't have any copies of the pictures elsewhere
Gary Evans

If you have full resolution copies of the photos on the iPod have a look here: Apple Knowledge Base article - Use Disk Mode to copy photos from iPod
If not, there are a few programs out there for recovering photos from an iPod, have a look at the ones below. If you search the internet you can find more. Just be aware that what you'll be recovering will be photos optimised for the iPod so they won't be the same quality as the original full resolution versions:
iPodPhotoCopy Windows only
CopyPodPhoto Windows only
Tansee iPod Transfer Photo Windows only
iPod Photo Liberator Mac & Windows
TouchCopy Mac and Windows Versions (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

  • HDD failure - can you import photos & music from iPod to new HDD?

My Hardrive gave up the ghost last night (flashing folder with ?) I have taken it back today to have a replacement HDD under warranty.
The only backup I have as such is all my music and photos on the iPod. When I get my MB back with the new HDD is there a way to get iTunes to import all the music & album artwork? aslo will iPhoto be able to import the photos (which are all on the iPod at full quality)?
Needles to say I will be buying Time Capsule in the next few weeks as it's going to take me ages to redo all the speedsheets and documents that were not backed up

There are a number of programs that can transfer data from an iPod to a Mac. Senuti is free but I don't know if it does just music or can transfer other data as well. At any rate, hit your favorite Mac download site and search on iPod.

  • Deleting photo's from ipod etc

i need to delete all photo files from my ipod 80g and i see that on the summary it says i have 177mb in 'other'
i don't know what that refers to
    anyone have similar probs

Other can be Folders like Colanders; Contacts, Notes and Other Data,Folders that’s not mention separately; e.g. Movies, Music, Photos-- Audio and Video files.
    This would be my guess!
I hope this answer's your question regarding "Other"!

  • Deleting photo's from ipod

Can anybody tell me the steps to deleting photo's from a 30G video ipod. I'm not sure but "I think!" its a 5th generation model.
All this INFO and nothing on deleting "go figure"

if you are automatically synching photos from a folder, then all you do is add or remove the photos that you want on the ipod on that folder and the next time you sync the ipod those photos from the folder will replace the one's on the ipod. for example if the ipod has 10 photos and you want to remove 5 of them, you remove the photos from the folder you are synching from and resync ipod and then the ipod will reflect what is on that folder.
whatever source you are synching photos from the ipod mirrors the source.

  • Photo transfer from ipod to new macbk pro gone bad

I successfully transfered my music from ipod classic (80gb) using senuti. Then did "transfer purchases" option in itunes to recover the rest. Then acquired touch copy app. to handle photos from ipod only to find out, when I started app., that all my photos on my ipod were erased! I think it happened during my sync (transfer purchases). However I did a search and found a bunch of .ipmeta files on my computer. They are not readable and I can't get them to import to iphoto. Can I recover the pics from my ipod or my comp? Thank you.

  • Photos deleted from Ipod when deleted from Computer

    Hi everyone,
After I download my photos into the ipod (60gb)I usually delete them from the computer.
The next time I connect the ipod to download new pictures, the ipod deletes the old ones and adds the new ones. Is there a way I can keep all my photos on the Ipod after deleting them from the computer? Thanks Rebel1622

Are you serious? I have the exact same problem and do the same thing other guy did. Surely there is some way to manuallly add new photos and not have the photos on ipod that were deleted from the computer deleted from the ipod as well automatically???? If that's true, that's nuts. No wonder I've never used Apple products till now.....

  • Viewing Photos Exported from Ipod to Computer

Using my ipod as a disk, I just exported all the photos in my ipod to my hardrive. My problem is that I don't seem to have any programs to view the photos. Do I need Iphoto or some special Apple program?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

When you originally put the photos on your iPod, did you select the little box below saying to "include full resolution photos"?
The photos that are viewable on your iPod have been compressed and formatted for iPod viewing. If you wish to be able to connect your iPod to a different computer and view those you should select the previous mentioned option.
You then select your iPod on your desktop>photos>full resolution

  • Iphoto lost all photos - can i copy photos back from ipod to mac?

Had an issue with corrupt files in my iphoto library. Did a bunch of stuff and upgraded etc....now iphoto is running fine...
lost a bunch of photos.. basically all corrupt and/or missing
I do have them all on my 5th gen ipod... is there anyway i can transfer photos FROM my ipod TO my mac????

Yes and no. If you had the iPod set to copy the photos as originals, then you will get the "original" photographs back (turn on disk mode and you will find them easily enough). If however, you didn't have this preference set then you will not have the "proper" photographs on there. You will just have the small scaled images which you can see on the iPod. However, if you enable disk mode you should balso be able to get these if you so wish. After all, the thumbnails will be better than nothing if the photos were important.

  • IPhoto displays incorrect dates for photos imported from iPod

I recently purchased the iPod Camera Connector for use with my 4G iPod with color display (iPod Photo). I took a few pictures on my Canon SD110 digital camera and used the Camera Connector to copy the pictures to my iPod. I then plugged the iPod into the computer, opened iPhoto, and imported these pictures from the iPod. All of this worked without a hitch.
However, I noticed that the roll of images that iPhoto created is dated incorrectly (it says 12.31.2000). The photos themselves have the correct date (5.21.2007) but the incorrect time (3:15p instead of 6:15p).
My camera, computer, and iPod are all set to the correct date and time. Any idea what's causing this? It's not a particularly big deal as I can just change the dates on the rolls to match what the photos say (and adjust the times on the photos to be 3 hours ahead), but I shouldn't have to do this if all of the date/time information is set correctly.

  • How do i get photos back from ipod

My laptop was stolen which is where I had all my pictures, I also had them on my ipod, I just bought a G5 intel based, is there a way to get my pictures back from my ipod on to my new computers hard drive.

    Hi borisky.
    (Sorry for Your Computer)
Well, yes. IF you use Hard Drive Mode on Your iPod,
You could be able to check out the PHOTO doc in "MY
    COMPUTER"-"iPod"-"PHOTO".
then you select the pictures. they should all appear
    there.
    Hope this heLps

  • IPhoto 6 not printing photos imported from iPod Movie

Thought I had it beat, on a 6 week tour of Europe I downloaded all my photos (2,500) from my digital camera straight onto my iPod movie. This worked beautifully. Could even preview photos on iPod. Got home, imported all photos from the iPod onto my iMac PowerPC G4 using iPhoto 6 - v6.0.6, the leftover photos on my digital camera went straight onto the iMac.
Trouble is the photos that were downloaded from the iPod will NOT print. The photos in the folder downloaded from the camera WILL print. All photos can be viewed and edited but the photos that were stored on the iPod simply will not print.
What do I need to do to get these photos to print?

Are you sure there are no updates for iPhoto 6 waiting for you to install?
Run software update and be sure.

  • Help - Photos Deleted from iPod, how do I recover them?

I accidentally deleted all the photos stored in my iPod during syncing. They were not stored on my Mac.
Is there any way to recover photos from an iPod? They must still be there somewhere on the iPod, it hasn't been reformatted yet or anything.
If anyone knows how I can get the photos back (if they are still living on the iPod somewhere) please let me know.

Your only hope is data recovery software.
