Photos Freeze Phone (nice alliteration eh?)

So, after months of squeeking wheels in the direction of my server I finally get a BB Pearl 8130. Still getting used to it but have come across a major issue involving the desktop manager, photos and the device.
I went out and got a micro SD for the thing, threw on a few hundred songs and all was going fine.
THEN I tried to upload 4 photographs. one got on the phone (the memory card) & then the entire desktop manager froze. i looked at my phone, scrolled over to see if the pic was on there, as SOON as I scrolled to 'MY PICTURES' in the device, the device froze.
I freaked. pushed buttons... eventually I did the battery removal bit... it started up again with my regular set up on the screen, but STILL FROZEN.
Troubleshot & found that when the memory card was out of the device, it worked fine.
Troubleshot the hell out of the photo files thnking they were corrupt (they're healthy).
Went out and bought a card reader so I could open the memeory card without the phone, opened it, photos worked fine from there. Scanned the whole card for viruses. nothing. deleted the photos fromt the memory card, pluged it back into the phone & it worked fine. Tried re-loading (through desktop manager) it all froze all up again.
Rewound the operation and wet at it again, this time loading photos though the card reader directly onto the memory card. That worked fine, until I stuck it in the phone & scrolled over to see them. As soon as I got to MY PICTURES on the phone ... guess what? FROZE.
There's nothing wrong with the Micro SD card it's working fine through the reader. My computer is a piece of crap, but it's healthy & runs fine when I rub it the right way. the problem lies in the phone when it's trying to access uploaded photos. The shots I take from the camera on the phone pose no problem. It's somewhere between the desktop software & the phone. But where what & why, I dunno.
Please help. I was really hoping my Blackberry experience was going to be helpful to me. I wanted it to organize my life so's I'd stop cursing all the time. I don't want to be perpetually cursing at the phone. (I did that enough with the Nokia)

thanks for clarifying. so far as those sorts of files in the device memory, I have one pic taken with the camera & one voice note. all other media is (still only just tunes) on the memory card.
i'm about to go about the tasks you suggest. If you see a small mushroom cloud emanating from somewhere on the west coast of Canada... I've done something wrong.

Once I get this darn VCast off the phone..how can I get my photos off my phone without e-mailing them to myself?
I used to be able to do it by plugging it in. Now I don't seem to be able to do it. I have over 100 photos on phone..not on SD card. Can't seem to get them off phone onto laptop any more. Used to be able to transfer them using the cable.

i downloaded the manual to my pc and my phone. i also ordered the free copy of it. when you got your device there should have been a card in the box with info. there was an 800 number to call to order a manual (it's free and a third party ships them to you free as well) and there was a link to download it from. all of that being said....it's really not that useful. 200+ pages of some very basic stuff. it doesn't go into much detail on specific tips and tricks to use.

I really do not think it is the iPad or your network connection. Other users have reported this very same issue. Try this and see if it works for you - it may not work - but it's easy to try - harmless - and it has worked in the past for others.
Try signing out of your account and restart your iPad.
Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID and tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Go back to Settings>Store> Apple ID and sign in again.

RE: Strat II; how do you upload photos from phone to computer?

Newbie here and just learning how to use my data phone. It is a Stratosphere II - Samsung. I've got several archived photos in phone that I'd like to upload to my computer (Windows XP/with several different photo s/w programs, i.e. Adobe, etc.). Is it as simple as removing my SIM and/or memory card?

You don't even have to do that, just connect to your computer using the USB cord that came with the phone and put it in USB storage mode.

Phone should read just like a flash drive AFTER you install any drivers that are needed. Go to the Samsung site and go to support, software or downloads, find your phone and select the drivers for a Mac.

try moisturising your finger a bit if the skin is too dry it can give problems

IPhone will not retain photo's & Phone freezing

Since updating to 3.1, my iPhone has decided that it can't transfer 20Mb of Photos when I have 180Mb of free space left.
Using Restore will make it so I can have my pictures on my phone again, but next time I sync my phone, I lose them again. I have restored the phone 4 times, and it still does it.
Also, when using the on screen slider to turn the phone on, I have had the phone lock up on me twice.
Are these problems related to the new software, do you think? I've never had any real problems with my phone until the latest update, and its getting annoying.
Any help would be greatfully recieved.

Thank you so much for replying, I deleted the folder you mentioned, it synced, which is further than it got before, but when optimising the pictures it crashed again :(

Why are photostream photos on phone not going into photostream folder on PC?

I have an Iphone 4s. I am a new user. I have 518 photos in my photostream (PS) according to my phone. I have chosen the appropriate settings - like my photostream is on under the iCloud setting and wifi automatically connects when it's in range. Also under iCloud settings and Storage & Backup, iCloud Backup is on and I told it to backup (with it plugged in and locked as instructed). I installed the iCloud control panel on my PC-Windows Vista this evening for the first time. Now there are about 35 photos in my PC's photostream folder. I did the iCloud back up on my phone again. Same 35 photos in the PC's folder. Why aren't all 518 photos in the folder? Should there be a delay? Should I leave my phone on, my PC on, and the wifi connected all night to see what happens? I don't get it!

I just noticed the post has me down as running windows 7. I have a iMac running mountain lion.

IPhone 4s update was interrupted and message said phone had to be reset to factory settings. Lost all photos from phone in process of transferring to pc. Copy of my backup overroad that phone and all the old data and photos are gone.

My boyfriend and I share an iTunes account. I just tried to update his phone and during the update an error message occurred saying that his phone had to be reset to factory settings. It said it was an un setup phone and needed plugged in to iTunes. With no other choice, we had to select reset to factory settings. Now, my phone backup through iCloud downloaded onto his and all of his contacts and photos were overridden by mine. His photos were in process of transferring from the phone to the pc while this occurred and over 900 of them were complete when this happened. They don't show up on the pc now either since the sycn wasn't finished. Is there a way to get them back? When we plug his phone in now it shows my name instead of his so I'm not sure how to get to an old version of his backups even.

I hardly have any apps or photos but phone says I only have 1gb available

i went to manage my storage under settings and it says I have 1gb available and 11 gigs used. I added up the size of my apps in the manage storage and have probably under 2 gigs. Why is this? I don't use backup or iCloud. I have no idea why this is the case. i have an iPhone 6 with 16 gigs and the latest iOS 8.1.3
i have no photos, music and I don't use iCloud or backup my phone on a regular basis.

Are these photos in your camera roll? If so, you can't delete them using iTunes, & if you've already imported them to your computer, but left them on your phone...you're not clear on that...I suspect whatever program you used to import them doesn't see them anymore...is that correct? If so, you'll have to either mark to delete one at a time, or use third-party software to delete them.
