Photos from elements 5
my photos in elements 5 were not uploaded to elements 9 when i upgraded to the newer version, als i could not ling my photos to facebook
If your photos are not in PSE9, then you need to convert the PSE5 catalog to PSE9.
File->Catalog->Convert
I can't help with the Facebook problem.

How much data is used uploading photos from element 12 to adobe revel
how much data is used uploading photos from element 12 to adobe revel
Rixonruss,
The size of your photos and videos you mark in Elements for upload depicts how much data is being uploaded. However for download, only small size previews get downloaded first unless you download the originals from Elements whenever needed in any Elements workflows.
If you have any Revel related queries, they may be answered at the FAQ link http://www.adobe.com/in/products/revel/faq.html

How to upload photos from elements 9 to Revel
How to upload photos from elements 9 to Revel
There is no direct link from PSE 9 to revel the way there was to photoshop.com. Revel didn't exist when PSE 9 was written and there's nothing in PSE 9 that can understand or connect with Revel. You are not going to be able to do everything you could do with photoshop.com, like keep your catalog synced. You use a web browser and find your photos to share exactly the same way you would if they were not in the organizer at all.

How do I send edited photos from Elements 12 to Costco for printing?
New user and have checked all trainng info.... How do I send edited photos from Elements 12 to Costco for printing? Only Shutterfly is offered as option. Or how can I export to "my pictures" or thumb drive?
If you don't have the special costco edition (in which case you should see costco as an option for ordering prints), if the photos are in the organizer, use File>Export as New File(s) to send them to your thumb drive, if that's what you want to do, or export them to a folder on your desktop, go to the costco website and point their software to that folder for uploading. If you don't use organizer, just save the files to a folder on your desktop and do the same.

how do i export photos from elements 12 to a flash drive on a mac?
You don't. There is the Camera Connection Kit, which let's you download pictures to your iPad via SD card, but the reverse is not a standard feature of iPad. The best method would be to connect your iPad to your computer and transfer the pictures to your computer via iTunes.

How to export photos from Elements Organizer on Mac?
I saw someone asked the same question and it seemed not to be possible with the Mac version. Surely this can't be possible as this must be one of the single most important functions in an Archving system.
rugfoot wrote:
The problem is I can't move them to a new folder. If I could I wouldn't have the export problem. I just dragging and dropping but it doesn't work. I have made a selection (15) of photos in Elements Organizer but I can't identify which ones they are (from 300) in the Mac Finder app (= Windows Explorer).
Sorry, I can't test that on a Mac, but I thought that 'Windows only' features would be stated on the Adobe pdf help file, and moving file is not mentionned as Windows only, whereas 'export' is clearly stated as Windows only.

Edit,
By the way, the very useful faq list in the right panel of this forum links to PSE9, not PSE10 for the location of the guides. -
Transfer Photos from Elements 4 on Windows XP to Lightroom on a new Mac
Can I transfer photos including the metadata and tags from Elements 4 (windows XP) to a Mac running the
Maverick OS and Lightroom. If so what is the best process. There is no real path at this time to upgrade a PSE 4 catalog to a Lightroom catalog. Existing versions of Lightroom allow upgrades of PSE 6 through PSE 11 catalogs.
The best you can do is have PSE 4 write the metadata to the photo files, and then import the photos into Lightroom. You will lose certain items in the PSE 4 catalog such as version sets, stacks, collections, notes and possibly a few other things. Your tags should be transferred (although even with tags there are some bugs)
Another option is to convert the PSE 4 catalog to a PSE 12 catalog (using the 30-day free trial of PSE 12) and then wait until LR supports conversion of PSE 12 catalogs, in which case you would not lose the aforementioned items (except notes still will not transfer) -
I had elements 11 and I now have a new pc and elements 13. how do I get the photos from 11 ne easy step?
When you open the File menu, you should have 19 options, including 'Manage catalogs, Ctrl+Maj+C'.
All options should be available (not grayed out).
Using the 'Manage catalogs' option should open a new dialog.
In the white panel on the bottom you should find one or several catalogs found by the Organizer.
In the upper right part, two buttons : Open and Convert.
Click on 'Convert' which should open a new dialog allowing you to find the catalog to convert. The organizer should find most older catalogs in the list on the bottom. If you don't see your catalog to convert, you can tick the checkboxes to 'show previously converted catalogs' or to browse to their location.
Highlight the catalog to convert and click the convert button.

How do I get my photos from Elements 11 into a file folder.
How do I get my photos from Elemtnts 11 into a file folder. I am trying to use Blurb to make a travel book but because of the number of photos I have them in groups and want them to stay in groups for the book. Unfortunately the photos in each grouping are all over the place and will be definitely difficult and time consuming to bring into Blurb.
Thank you. I tried this before I wrote the question as the photos had just disappeared!
I was very nervous to try this again but did with some junk photos and after much trial and error - it worked! I'm not a real pro as you can tell and appreciate your help. -

What happens to Hidden Photos from Elements
If upgrading from PSE9 to LR3.3, what will happen to all the photos that are hidden? Does LR support hidden photos?
Actually, I just went through this exercise with PSE10 and LR5 (converting my PSE10 catalog). Your hidden photos from PSE will import into LR5 but they will show up flagged as REJECTED. So just be aware that they are in your LR5 catalog but they are flagged as being rejected. This is important to know so you don't accidentally delete all your hidden photos because they were flagged as rejected. I wish LR had the Hidden Photo attribute, it's just a nice way to keep your images in one catalog, but not be bogged down with photos that you rarely need access to. In some ways, I like the PSE Catalog Organizer better than the LR5 Organizer. There are some PSE features that don't exist in LR for whatever reason.
The other thing to be aware of is that NONE of my offline photos from PSE imported into LR during the catalog conversion, so if you have any of those in your PSE catalog (photos that you have archived to removeable media like CD, DVD, or USB thumb drives) they need to be imported separtely into LR. It seems like Adobe (as usual) didn't really think through this process all the way. My experience with Adobe software is that it's really cool when it works which is most of the time, but start to do anything out of the 80/20 rule and things start to get a little dicey. I would never say that it's rock-solid. Their approach seems to be that if you want to get all the bug fixes, you have to pay to upgrade to the next version (and inherit a whole new set of bugs). . -
I've just upgraded to Elements 8 from Elements 5 and can't find the email command. It used to be in the File menu. Nothing in Help either.
Please quit sending me emails.

How can I import psd photos from Elements into iPhoto?
I cannot import psd photos into iPhoto without saving them to the desktop, which is a real hassle (hundreds of photos). Am I doing something incorrectly? Thanks for any advice.
I may be preaching to the choir here but this might be of help to you:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done. 3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 9 or later the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always. In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
NOTE: If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (click on the Edit button) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and select "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds.
