Photos from iphone/ipad not automatically showing up in iPhoto on Mac

Running iOS 8.1 on iPhone 6 and iPad. Running Yosemite on Mac. Photos taken on the iPhone transfer automatically to the iPad but not to iPhoto on the Mac. Photostream is turned on. iCloud Photo Library Beta is not turned on. This worked before Yosemite upgrade. Help?

Same problem.
After USB is connected, iPhoto shows iPhone name with "(0)" photos.
Same whether iPhoto is open or closed before USB is connected.
Same whether iPhone is on or off when USB is connected.
Rebooting iPhone did not help.
Relaunching iPhoto did not help.
Rebooting Mac did not help.

I have IMac on Yosemeite, 500GB. IPhone 5 on 8.2. My photos, from iPhone, had not appeared via photo stream on my Mac. I had been away from a while But expected the photos to appear on the Mac. There were 1000 in Photostream and 1200 in Camera Roll. I used a cable to import the Camera Roll, it stopped importing after 1000 photos. The photos, though, are in iCloud and I don't know how to access them to put them to Events. There are 3 recent Photostream events showing up in IPhoto withOut any photos. I tried to import to Library but was directed to Finder and no access to iPhoto. I tried to shut down iPhoto but got a message telling me photos were being imported. That's 6 hours ago and I'm still getting the same message. I don't know what to do. I'm not an expert, just a user.

HHi, thank you for the reply. I have checked my iPad and iPhone and neither has iCloud Photo Library (Beta) enabled. Turned off in both. Photostream is turned on.
i tried to sort it out by dragging all the photos to Events on the Mac and then deleting them from iCloud - (left hand side of iPhoto under the section 'Shared'). the photos now show up in Events. I did force quit but the issue remains. The message reads ' photos are bing imported to the library. Please wait for import to complete.'
i can't empty iPhoto trash either. The message read "Delete error. Please wait for import to complete.'
WHen I was moving the photos to the Events I always had a message about duplicates - to the effect that the photos already existed, did I want to import them? I clicked on Yes, import all duplicates. But when it showed the images - duplicates side by side - one showed the photo and the other was blank.
I really don't know what to do! And I don't know how to handle my iOS devices. Is it to do with the large number of photos? Any help, advice appreciated.

How to delete photos from iPhone but not iPhoto?

iPhone 5S on iOS 8.1.2 with over 6,000 pictures, brand new Macbook Pro on 10.10.1 Yosemite. All my photos are synched to iPhoto, and I want to delete the photos from my iPhone to clear up storage. My main concern is not losing the photos in iPhoto the next time I plug my phone in. Half the things I researched say it'll delete them, other half says they won't. I just want to have a clear iPhone and be able to view my pictures on my Macbook. How do I go about this without wiping my Mac clean?

As I know, it won't delete the photos in iPhoto, but you can backup these photos on Mac to avoid any accident.
you can transfer Photos from iPhone to Mac with Image Capture
Connect your iPhone to Mac with USB cable > Run Image Capture on your Mac > Select your iPhone from the device list if it is not selected > Set the output folder for your iPhone photos > Click Import or Import all to transfer photos from iPhone to Mac.
BTW, you can also try to delete only one photos on iPhone first and see if it will disappeare on iPhoto to know what to to next.

I have recently been on a long trip creating a journal in iPhoto as I go, uploading many gb of photos using the camera connection kit.
I love the way I can view my journal and tap on photos to see them in full screen and maximum quality.
I am now home and need to delete all the photos from my iPad after uploading them to my mac. However when I do this, I can no longer view the photos in my journal in full screen. How can I keep the journal looking as great as it is, without not having to go through and delete only pictures not included in my journal? There are many thousand pics on the iPad now so I need to delete them all...

Add the photos you want to your journal. Then, you delete them from your ipad and they will NOT be deleted from your journal (One of my journals has 1000+ pics of my garden, so I have to delete pics on my 32G ipad). I've been doing this for 5+ months and never had a problem--all my pics stay in my journal--but note, that every once in a while after I delete the photos from my ipad (via camera roll/photostream-I don't unse iPhoto to delete) it takes up to half an hour for the photos to resync (so sometimes it looks like the photos are missing in the journal but they ALWAYS come back). Do a test journal and add a page of photos to it. Then, delete them from your ipad and wait a bit and see what happens. It always works fine for me, but you could do that just to be on the safe side.

Backed up photos from iPhone 4S not showing on iCloud or iPhone 5S

I hope someone can help me.
I recently got an iPhone 5S and most of my photos aren't appearing. I can't see them on iCloud.com, either.
My old iPhone 4S has always been set to back up to iCloud (photos included) and did so for the final time the night before I started using my 5S.
When I set up my 5S, it immediately showed all the data from my 4S (notes, reminders, etc.) EXCEPT most of my photos. It shows photos from 16 April 2014 onwards, but nothing before that. My iPhone 4S has photos right back to August 2013 which should be on iCloud.
In 'Settings > iCloud, 'Photos' is set to 'on'. The storage and backup information says 6.4GB of my backup is camera roll. So why has my complete camera roll failed to appear on my 5S?
Also, when I login to iCloud on the web, photos are not shown at all - so I have no reassurance they're backed up (despite paying for extra storage). Why is this? I have a total of 15GB iCloud storage and only 8.3GB is currently used.
Very confused - please help!

Been on hols. Took pics on phone. No wifi for iPad so expected them to be in photo stream when I eventually got wifi connection but nothing is appearing. I'm sure this shouldn't happen. Any help appreciated.

I have installed icloud on my pc with windows vista. I want the icloud to transfer photos from my iphone 4s to pc. The icloud installation seems to have worked but the file photostream in my pictures on my pc has not uploaded any photos. The photostream on my iphone is on? I do not know how to upload the photos, they do not seem to load automatically, even though the setting on my iphone says it will push them automatically. any help would be appreciated.

Photostream only uploads the photos taken (or imported to the device) AFTER you enable Photostream. Photos from prior to Photostream being turned on will not upload. You could just take screenshots of the older photos to create 'new' images, or transfer your photos to your computer manually.

Error transferring photos from iPhone 4 (OS 4.0.1) to iPhoto (Ver 9.2.1)

I have iPhoto version 9.2.1 installed on my iMac i7 13 inch. When i try to transfer photos from my iPhone 4 (OS 4.0.1) it gives me the following error:
"Error downloading image
iPhoto cannot import your photos because there was a problem downloading an image."
N.B:
I already have photos saved on my iPhoto library of which i dont have any back up. Please advice solutions in such a way that i dont lose these pictures!

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

Photos from iPhone do not show up on my iPad

I am having problems of late viewing my photos which I took with the iPhone which for some reason will not migrate to the iPad. I have but one iCloud account, everything is turned on so the photos should move freely between the devices but they don't. Is there another way of downloading iPhone photos onto either my MacBook or the iPad? I have tried iTunes and just about everything else but no success. Your help would be much appreciated.

How do I use iCloud so that it transfers photos from iPhone/iPad to computer, but not vice versa?

My iPhone tells me it has run out of storage and it is because of my photo/video storage. There are about 400 photos that are in my photo stream on my phone from my Mac that I don't need to be there. Is there a way to stop the transfer from my Mac to iPhone and iPad, but still have them automatically transfer from these devices back to my Mac? Help!

Photostream is different that iCloud backup, so whether or not it's backed up yet has nothign to do with you seeing her photos.
If her the photos are appearing in your photo stream, then you two are sharing an iCloud account for sharing photos.
On your daughter's device in Settings --> iCloud --> Account, which account is listed? It should be your daughter's AppleID (iCloud account). Photos should be turned on.
On your device, in the same location, your account should be listed.
There are multiple places where AppleIDs can be used, so be sure you're looking in the place I described above.
