Photos from iPhone to iPad: Only some are transferred, some not. Why?

With my iPhone 5 and my iPad (3rd gen.) both logged in to the same iCloud account, same Apple ID of course, photo stream activated, both in the same network and bluetooth active - so all as it should be - there will be some photos taken with the iPhone not being transferred to the iPad and vice versa. E.g. tonight: I took two shots within a minute, very similar surroundings, with the iPhone. Back in the holiday flat and connected to the WiFi network one of them appears on the iPad within seconds, the other one does not, even after resetting both devices and switching iCloud off and on again and you name it... This happens erraticly, there are about 50 photos of a total of 400 not being transferred. Sounds weird, but true. I have to use dropbox to overcome this manually. Any ideas would be much appreciated, and thanks a lot in advance.

Hello and thanks very much - sadly this is not the case, I checked it already: The photos not being transferred are separately taken shots. The ones being transferred and the ones that are not seem completely randomly defined and it is never predictable which ones will show up.

To sync any photos that are not part of photo stream, you will need to sync the photos to your computer via iTunes first and then to the other device.
WC, will this work from photostream on my computer too?  I just turned photo stream on on my computer.  Thank you.  Liz

  • How do I sink photos from iPhone to ipad

HOw do I sink my photos from iPhone to iPad.i turned phphoto stream on on both devises.

The only way is to sync to iTunes on a computer and then sync from iTunes to the other device, using USB.
If you're thinking of using photo stream, that won't work now, since only photos taken AFTER each device was logged into photo stream will sync between them.  All older photos must be synced via a computer.
The exception to this is if you use dropbox or some other service to act as the middleman.

while copying photos from pc to ipad only one folder gets copied and while trying for other folders, the previous one which copied earlier does not appear.

Are you selecting all of the folders to sync?
Note that if you deselect a folder it will be removed.

You don't really sync photos from the devices to the Mac, you import them to an app; iPhoto, Aperture or Image Capture. During that process you are given an option to erase the photos from the device. Is this not the manner that you used?

  • How can i transfer my photos from iphone to ipad

hello i just want to know if somebody can help me to tranfer pics from iphone to ipad pls

    Hi Samaur,
If you have iCloud, then your Photostream will be available on both devices automatically. If you want to sync pictures not on Photostream, then you have a couple of options:
Apple sells a cable that will enable you to link your iPhone to your iPad and transfer the pictures that way
You can get them from your iPhone to your iPad by syncing them through iTunes on your computer
I will tell you that I have used both ways to transfer pictures (the first way before iCloud was available), and when you do a direct transfer using the cable, it may cause issues with the Events in iPhoto. I had to do a lot of moving and renaming to get them straightened out with those direct link photos. It seems like years ago, but probably not that long, but either way - I can't tell you exactly what the problems were, but I won't be using that method anymore. iCloud pretty much solved my issue - with Photostream, I get all my pictures on both devices without doing anything. So, I would strongly recommend iCloud as the way to go...
    Cheers,

Directly not. Indeed, refer to photostream or use a computer to transfer photo's from and to devices.

  • How to move only photos from iPhone to iPad?

HI I bought an iPad Air 2 128gb. I also have a 16gb iPhone 5C that is out of space. Is there a way I could transfer ONLY the photos from it to my new iPad without using DropBox. (DropBox does not have enough space to transfer the pictures and I think that  $100 is to much money for this.)I have also tried a few App Store apps but they would only crash.

  • How do I put voice memos from iphone to ipad.  They are already in Mac as a playlist, how do I put voice memos from iphone to ipad.  They are already in Mac as a playlist

I can get my voice memos from my iphone onto itunes on my Mac but when I sync my ipad, it doesn't sync.  So I can only listen on my iphone using the voice memos app, which is very frustrating, since you cannot pause it and restart or gets interrupted when you get a call or on my computer.  I would love to review some lectures I have taped on my ipad.  Any way of doing this

The following is pre iOS 8 but may have something that you missed: http://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/iosapps/transfer-voice-memos-from-iphone-to-com puter-3526349/
One new thing I learned from it is that Evernote which I use for keeping some text notes in sync among various devices has a voice memo capability. Those would be automatically transferred. Here is some more information on that if you want to check it out for future use: https://evernote.com/contact/support/kb/#!/article/28606837

  • How to get photos from iphone to ipad ...?

I am tyring to get photos from my iphone to my ipad...the photos from the ipad moved to my iphone but photos from the iphone did not move to the ipad. Photostream settings are on; wifi is connected on both devices...

You're welcome.  It is possible to stream to older photos to your iPad by adding them to a shared photo stream and inviting yourself as a subscriber (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99).  Another option is use an app like PhotoSync to transfer photos between your devices over wifi.

  • Photos from iPhone to ipad

Using the apple photo connector, I moved 400 photos from my iPhone to my iPad and selected do not delete from the iPhone. They r on the iPad and the iPhone ssys there r 400 photos on it but they will not show themselves. How can I make them show again on the iPhone?   Thanks. Joanlvh

How are you trying to do that?
You can email the photos or enable the Photo Stream, see:
    iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ
If you have iPhoto on both devices, you can also beam the Photos wirelessly:
          Send photos wirelessly
    Share photos using Messages
