Photos from iPod 1st gen to mac?

Hey there I just found my old iPod 1st Gen and there are endless old pictures on it and
i tryed to get the pictures on my iPhoto but the iPod won't show up. I have backed up the iPod to be save atleast but
is there a way to get all pictures on my Mac? Thanks

Since the photos were likely synced to the iPod, you need a third-party program to get synced photos from an iPod to a computer. Some programs are TouchCopy and PhoneView. The free iFunBox MAY work too.

  • Cannot download photos from original 1st gen iphone

An aunt passed on her old 1st gen iphone (16GB) to my son for Christmas as a starter phone.  We cannot get the photos he shot Christmas to download to our Windows vista computer. The only way we can get a photo off this phone  seems to be by email - one at a time -Surely there is some better way!
I've downloaded iTunes and it will back-up the phone, but I can't find any way to see the photos.  Following an old discussion we tried to look at the phone files without iTunes (clicking on it in My computer ) and it wants to format the disk.
The phone wants us to connect to MobileMe, but we don't have an account and it is closed to new registrations, and you need a higher iOS to connect to iCloud.    We have downloaded and tried Diskaid based on another discussion and it can't seem to see the phone either, but iTunes can. I cannot find a way to seach the app store and filter by iOS version, in order to find a some other file transfer program that works with 3.1.3 - they all seem to require 4.0 or higher.
I thought Apple was supposed to be user-friendly...but it certainly doesn't seem to support older equipment users very well.

When there are photos in the Camera Roll, the iPhone is also detected as a digital camera when connected to a compatible computer. Photos in the Camera Roll can be imported by the computer as with any other digital camera, which is not handled by iTunes.
Try the Windoze scanner and camera wizard, which works with every iPhone and iOS version beginning with the first - 1.0.

  • Transfering videos from iPod 4th gen to Mac

Ok so I've read almost everywhere that 4th gen iPods have HD video. when I see my videos on mi iPod they look pretty good but I've unable to transfer them to my Mac so I had to e-mail each and every one of them, and they look HORRIBLE, and they're definitely not 720p x 480, they are actually 568 x 320.
The only reason I can think of is because they compress a lot in orden to fit in an e-mail, but there HAS to be a way to transfer them in their original HD format via USB cable, help please!

This sounds like an ipod touch question.
You should ask in the ipod touch forum.

  • IPod 1st Gen (Scroll wheel) not recognized by iTunes

iPod 1st Gen (with scroll wheel) will not connect to iTunes 12.1 on MacBookPro.  Charging when I plug it in, want to add music to it, but iTunes will not recognize it.  Anyone have any suggestions or does anyone know if this iPod is no longer supported by iTunes?

  • How do I delete photos from iPod Touch?  Some photos do not have the trash basket option!

How do I delete photos from iPod Touch?  Some photos do not have the trash basket option!
When I first synced my iPod Touch with my laptop, it uploaded a lot of photos onto the iPod.  I now wish to delete those but it does not seem as a straight forward option!

For photos synced to the iPod you have to unsync them:
To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.

A simple Google search for iPod battery replacement should give you a number of results to work with.

I have an Ipod 1st gen. and facebook has stopped working on it. It was work before.

What iOS is on the iPod (Settings>General>About>Version). The FB app needs 3.0 or later.  You can purchase iOS 3.1.3 for the 1G by using this link:

My iphone screen has been frozen for about 30 minutes on a grey sceen with a thin white line throught it. I tried to import photos from my phone to my mac. It was working for a while, then it quit and my computer said thre was a error. I looked at my phone and it was frozen. I can't turn it off and my screen does not dim, its just stuck on the grey. I also can'tfind the serial number either. I have imported photos in the past and it has worked. I just don't know what to do or how to fix it .

    Hi ginger1616,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your iPhone is unresponsive, try resetting it using this method:
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
You can find the full article with these steps here:

  • Retrieve photos from iPod

Recently my MacBook's hard drive failed, and I lost all of my information...I now have a new computer, but still am missing my photos. However, they are all on my iPod. When I tried to plug it in and retrieve I was having trouble figuring out a way to import the photos back into iPhoto. If this is possible, I would love to know how to do it.

If you have full resolution copies of the photos on the iPod have a look here: Apple Knowledge Base article - Use Disk Mode to copy photos from iPod
If not, there are a few programs out there for recovering photos from an iPod, have a look at the ones below. If you search the internet you can find more. Just be aware that what you'll be recovering will be photos optimised for the iPod so they won't be the same quality as the original full resolution versions:
Keith's iPod Photo Reader Mac only
iPod Photo Liberator Mac & Windows
TouchCopy Mac and Windows Versions (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

I am trying to copy photos from an iPad to a Mac Air, but iPhoto does not recognize them. Please forgive the ignorance, but we have just started moving to apple products and I know nothing about them. Do you have to use PhotoStream to do this?

How did the photos that you want to copy off get on the iPad  ? To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a Mac you should be able to use iPhoto, Aperture or Image Capture
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app on your iPad such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.
