Photos from laptop to mac

*Hello*
**I recently got an imac. I am trying to put my photos from my old laptop to the imac. I can't use the usb or the cd dvd drive on the laptop to transfer my photos. I have tried emailing the photos. But my email only lets me email 4 photos at a time. That will take me days to do as i have about 2000 photos. Both computers are on the same network.**
**Can anyone please help?**

No I don't, I'm afraid. And before I could even begin to guess you would need to be offering me more information. What flavour of Windows? 95? 98? NT? XP? The instructions for filesharing will be different depending on the type.
Have a look at the Help on the WIndows box, what does it tell you? Usually, these things work with a dedicated 'Shared Folder' of some sort. You enable sharing, and the put these photos into this folder. Then, you can copy them to the Mac from there.
Also, once you know the version of Windows you have, try google for help - something like
Sharing files Windows XP to Mac OS X
will find a wealth of information. Take your time, a lot of geeky stuff out there that will be impenetrable. But if you follow the links on google some one will have easy-to-follow step-by-step.
Regards

    You're welcome.
The photos are imported from the Camera Roll, not synced.
    Mac or Windoze PC?
Which application on your computer are you using for the import?
With a Mac, both iPhoto and the Image Capture application include an option and a prompt to delete the photos from the Camera Roll are the import process is complete - as when importing photos from any other digital camera.
The Windoze Scanner and Camera Wizard includes the same.

  • Problems transferring photos from iphone to mac, iphoto says there is nothing to download...

Hi, I need to transfer photos from iphone to mac. My mac can 'see' my iphone with iphoto open, but the box says there are no photos to download. Could anyone help me please? This has never been a problem before (it was fine about 2 weeks ago). I've tried turning both devices off and have spent a couple of hours trying to search for this problem on the internet. I can't remember when I updated to OS 7.1 but I guess that was recently; could this be the problem? Thank you so much.

This has nothing to do with iOS 7.1

how do I download photos from laptop to ipad

You can also email the photos to yourself, open the email on your iPad and save the photo to your Camera Roll. But for a large number of photos, the above referenced syncing is better. Just be aware that synced photos from iTunes can only be deleted the same way - using iTunes.

  • Transferring Photos From Laptop to ipad mini

How do I transfer photos from laptop to my ipad mini?

You can e-mail them to yourself.
You can upload them to something like dropbox then download them onto your ipad
If you get the camera connection kit and an SD card you can put the photos onto the SD card (there is a naming convention to follow) then export them off the SD card onto your iPad.
There are photo syncing apps although I don't have one to recommend
You can use iTunes to sync them onto your ipad (although what you sync on via iTunes you must use iTunes to sync off when you're done with them so it may/may not be the best way for you)

  • Copy photos from DVD to Mac?

I would like to copy photos from DVD to Mac computer anyone know how to do it.

If the DVD was made on a Mac and they're JPEGs they should openable in Preview from the DVD. If so, just select them and drag them into a new folder to copy onto your hard drive. If the Mac doesn't recognize the DVD and it doesn't mount in the finder window or on the desktop, I'd say you're out of luck. But there are work arounds possible and too many to discuss without knowing a lot more about your setup and the DVD.

  • I am unable to import photos from iPhone to Mac.

I am unable to import photos from iPhone to Mac.  The most recently taken photos are not showing up on the screen ready to import as usual.  Any thoughts as to why?

Remember: we cannot see your machine. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS.  So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Basic things like :
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For instance: 'iPhoto won't export' is best explained by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

I NEED TO SHARE MY LR CATALOGS FROM LAPTOP TO MAC AND EVEN IPAD WITH NO EXTERNAL DEVICES - I WOULD LIKE ANY EDIT I MAKE FROM ONE COMPUTER TO BE MADE ON THE OTHER - HOW DO I DO THIS ?? THANKS!!

All the info you do with your image files is stored in the Lightroom Catalog file. The Catalog file cannot be located on a network it must have a physical connection to the computer.
While the Catalog is in use a LOCK file will be temporarily placed alongside which prevents its use by any other device.

The following link has 2 methods for importing photos to a Mac (not counting Photo Stream). Are you using iPhoto or Image Capture? If you follow the steps in the link for that method, what exactly happens that doesn't allow the upload? iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
