How do I move photos to show on my tv

I assume you want to connect your TV to your iMac (you are posting in the iMac forums) or your MBP (according to your profile).
I'll also assume your computer uses thunderbolt or mini-displayport for video out.  So you need a mini-displayport to HDMI adapter and a HDMI cable.
Connect the adapter to the computer and HDMI cable from the adapter to the TV.
Set the TV to the input you connected the HDMI cable to.
On your computer, if you open the Displays preferences and do not see an Arrangement tab (or there is an Arrangement tab that shows only a single monitor) then there is something physically wrong with your connection.  Try clicking detect displays just to see if the computer can now sense the presence of the connection.  Check your cables and make sure the mini-displayport plug is pushed firmly in.  Mini-displayport plugs can be a little tricky in that you need to make sure the plug is fully seated in their socket.
If you do have an Arrangement tab, and it shows two screens, then click Gather Windows to bring the TV's Displays preferences on to your main screen if the TV is not yet showing an image.  Set the proper resolution (probably 720p, 1080i, or 1080p).  Set the refresh rate (probably 60Hz) if that preference is shown.  You should see a picture at this point.  I  recommend turning off mirrored displays if it is enabled.
You may have to play with the underscan/overscan settings on your TV and the displays prefs for the TV if the picture is too small or larger for the TV screen.
Also, you need to set your Sound preferences to output to the HDMI connection.

Make sure Settings > iCloud > Photos > iCloud Photo Library (Beta) = "Off"
Then sync your iPhone using iTunes and make sure your sync settings for photos are set correctly in iTunes.

    There are several different ways....

But to be honest, I prefer just copying the Photos onto a Flash Drive or Hard Drive and import them into iPhoto on the other Mac.

  • I can't sync photos from Mac to iPad.

I can't sync photos from Mac to ipad2 and i have read on the support page How to fix it but it won't work

Have the photos been taken with the iPad or have the photos been synced to the iPad Air? Photos synced with iTunes to iOS devices cannot be synced back. See this link:  iOS: Syncing photos using iTunes
If the photos have been synced to the iPad Air, you need an external app as JimHDK recommended. Or mail the photos, which will be tedious. To delete them from the iPad after transferring them, sync again with iTunes, but select no folders to sync.
If the photos have been taken with the iPad Camera, you can connect the iPad Air to your Mac using a USB cable and then to launch Image Capture or iPhoto to transfer the photos. But that will not transfer synced photos.

    Depends on the actual device.
If it's an iOS device you can sync via iTunes.
Other devices: Export from iPhoto to the FInder and send them from there.

A FAT32 drive can't store files which are 4GB or larger. You need to reformat or repartition the drive to include an exFAT, NTFS, or Mac OS Extended volume, or use a different drive, or use a way other than an external drive to transfer it.

  • How can I Move photos from Mac computer to iPhone

I have no problem moving photos from the iPhone to my Mac using 'Image Capture.'
Now, I would like to know how to move pictures from my Mac to the iPhone. I can pretty well imagine that I first need to set the pixel dimensions of whatever I'm going to transfer to the iPhone to the iPhone standard. To do that, I will take an unaltered iPhone pic on my Mac and read the dimensions to get the standard. Past that point I'm not sure what is the best way to move the picture onto the iPhone.
Any recommendations on how to do this?
    TIA,
    Ken

Here is what I found doing a search of similar topics:
To sync photos from a folder on your hard disk to your device
Drag the images you want into a folder on your computer. If you want images to appear in separate photo albums on your device, create folders inside the main folder and drag images into the new folders.
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
Select Choose Folder from the pop-up menu and choose your main image folder.

  • Keynote for iOS file size: inserting photos from Mac first or from iPad?

    Hi!
This one is for people with advanced and extensive knowledge of Keynote for Mac and for iOS:
Does inserting pictures in Keynote for iOS from the Photos app result in a leaner file size than importing the Keynote file with pictures already inserted from the Keynote for Mac app?

    Hey Timmy,
I use Dropbox to get my photos to/from my iPad to my computer wirelessly (no iTunes). The process below is one I posted a few weeks ago for the opposite process than what you're wanting to do (from iPad to computer) but Dropbox will work both ways. Just set up a Dropbox folder on your computer and set up the Dropbox app on your iPad and they will both be in sync automatically.
    Hope this helps!

---from a post I did a few weeks ago---
The Dropbox app has a very cool auto-upload process that will automatically upload photos from the iPad Camera Roll to Dropbox.
First sign up for a free Dropbox account from your computer.
Then, download the free Dropbox app on your iPad.
Log in to the Dropbox app on the iPad with your new account and click on the Photos icon in the lower left corner of the screen (second one from the left).
Select "Enable Camera Upload" and "Only Wi-Fi." The upload process will begin for all existing photos in the Camera Roll.
From now on, all future photos taken by the iPad will automatically upload to the Dropbox folder. You can then download your photos from Dropbox to your computer by going to http://www.dropbox.com, logging in to your account, and downloading the photos. You can then put the photos on a USB drive or burn to a CD or upload them to a photo processing website.
    Hope this helps!
    ~Joe

  • Transfering Photos from Mac back to Camera?

Is it possible to transfer photos from a Mac back to a camera? I have attemptted this with the Export function but have not been successful.

    Hi there,
I don't believe you can transfer images back to card through the camera but you can transfer back if you use a card reader instead.
I've never been successful going from computer through camera to memory card but have always been able to go from computer through reader to memory card...
If there is no real reason to use camera card other than transporting images, I found the easiest way is using a flash drive. My only suggestion would be to use the flash drive on a PC first and then use on Mac. You can easily store and move images between PC and Mac or most any other device with a USB port...

  • Moving photos from mac mini to macbook...AH!

So I want to move all my twos years worth of photos from my mac mini to my macbook. I tried just putting the actual folders for 05' and 06' from my mac mini onto an external hard drive and then dragging then into iPhoto on my macbook, but it didn't organize them well at all. There doubles of some of the photos and some of them are way out of place. Is there a better way I can transfer these fills and keep them organized?

    Bananaeatsmonkey:
All you need to do is copy the entire iPhoto Library folder to the Macbook and place it in the Pictures folder unless you have a library there with additional photos in it. If no then a simple replacement is all you need to do. When you open iPhoto it will open that library.
Note: Just to be sure all permissions/ownership are correct on the copied folder download and run BatChmod on it as follows before opening for the first time:
download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, putting your administartive name in the owner and group sections. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application, iPhoto dB file backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar

  • Edited photos from Mac are not read on PC

i have recently edited some photos on my macbook and transfer them to an usb flash drive, they are .tiff and .jpeg files which i double checked twice on my mac that they were succesfully transfered to my usb, once i load the usb on my pc these folders that had the files appear as empty and some have the files but with a changed extension not readeable as image files, what is going on here? what i did wrong? i use the exact same method on photoshop on both my pc and mac to make the original raw files into .jpeg and .tiff.
    thanks

its NTFS, i installed some apps for my mac in order to work with this kind of external hard drives since it wasnt loading it the first time i connected it.they work perfectly with the mac but as of now only photos that load on the mac, dont load on my pc.
I just exported some photos from aperture to jpeg and they DO load on my pc, but still not the older TIFF and JPEG files that i first back up
