Photos got deleted before backup

hi
i got a new iPhone 6 pretty exited , i had clicked atleast 150 pics but before taking the back up the photos got deleted i asked my bro to take a back up and then restore but he did not take a back up and he hit restore and all the pics got deleted, and we replaced by my old iPhone 4 pics, have tried 3rd party software no luck
need help
shekar

Not if it was restored. A restore wipes the device clean to Factory Settings, so everything is erased.
I would highly recommend that, going forward, you import your photos to a computer on a regular basis:
PHOTO IMPORT IOS TO MAC/PC
IMPORTING PHOTOS - WINDOWS/MAC
This does not require a Wifi Connection - just a USB cable and a computer that you can back up to. This is the only way to keep photos safe. Photo Stream is temporary, and Backups are just that - backups. The olderst one gets overridden with the most current backup every three backups, so if you delete photos, or move them somewhere else, you won't be able to retrieve them from an old backup - it wouldn't be there anymore.
Sorry,
GB

Photos got deleted from roll after accepting icloud photo share. How could I  recover them?

    Hi JapArun,
The resource below explains what happens when you enable the iCloud Photo Library feature.  I've highlighted the key information here for you.  Click on the article for complete details.
Get help with your iCloud Photo Library - Apple Support

What happened to the Camera Roll album on my iOS device?
When you turn on iCloud Photo Library, The Camera Roll album is replaced with an All Photos album. The All Photos album gives you the same compact scroll view, now with all your photos and videos organized by the date you add them.
    Take Care,

hi,some of my photos got delete when i made a new folder and these are very importont

    Copy them the correct way.
    Close iTunes on both computers.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder for the old computer to the new computer.
Open iTunes on the new computer.  Everything in iTunes will be exactly as it was on the old computer.
FYI, marking your own additional comments as "This solved my question" is a good way to get the post ignored.

  • Recovering lost photos from delete icloud backup

Hi is there a way to recover the photos from a deleted icloud backup? I know once on the Internet it is there forever.

Unfortunantly there are no other backups...
I am hesitant to connect the new phone up as I find that whole line of questioning that iTunes does confusing.
I am never sure what it will do to 'sync' the old data with the new phone....
I think I'll just try the free utilities....

  • Notes got deleted before my eyes!!

Opened my notes today & within a flash they were gone!! What the heck is that about?
Just FYI notes synching is & has been off in my settings.. This is crazy!

As long as it isn't on a TIme Capsule:
    Quit Notes,
Disconnect from the internet (Turn off WiFi and/or unplug ethernet cable)
In Finder > Go then hold Option > Library
    Navigate to Containers/com.apple.Notes/Data/Library/Notes/
    Entered Time Machine
    Select all the files
    Restore
They may disappear once you reconnect to the internet and iCloud syncs, so I would copy them into Pages or Text Edit first just to be safe.
That way you can copy them back into Notes after iCloud syncs.

  • Restored iPhone to a previous backup, but new photos now deleted

Yesterday I synced my iPhone 5c w iTunes, then it went behind my back and restored my phone to a backup from April - and erased all my new photos. I was releived to see a backup from yesterday - but it seems to be a backup from AFTER the restoration, so it's a copy of the April backup! How idiodic! So it seems there is no real backup from last night of my photos, and stupidly I never signed into my apple ID on my phone, so iCloud doesn't have my photos.
Can iTunes really do something as stupid as restoring then backing up?
Are all of my photos really gone forever?

I guess you updated your iPhone using iTunes, which means everything on it got deleted before the new iOS got installed. This is the normal procedure, as you are supposed to choose "restore from backup" in the setup assistant. If you should have chosen "set up as new device" and tried to restore from a backup afterwards, your old backup might have already been overwritten by a current backup of your now empty phone.
If you have automatic sync enabled in iTunes, it automatically checks the serial of a connected iPhone and compares it to the existing backups. If it finds a match, it does not create a new backup, but instead updates the existing one. If it wouldn't do this, your hard drive would be full in no time.

  • Hi, I switched off photo stream in iphone in settings and as a result those photos even got deleted in iPad. How do I retrieve them? How to use this better to avoid such stuff?

I switched off photo stream in my iphone and as a result those 1 months photos got deleted on iPad. How can I retrieve them? How to avoid this in future?

This happened because iCloud only keeps photo stream photos in iCloud for 30 days, even though your last 1000 photo will remain on your device until deleted.  Turning off photo stream deleted them from your device; reconnecting to photo stream redownloads photos from the last 30 days (as older ones are no longer in iCloud).
To keep your photos permanently, import them to your computer while they are still in your camera roll, as explained here:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.  To save photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll so they can be imported too.

  • From some reason (i'm not sure why..) my whole iphoto library got deleted. I restored the whole library from my backup. The photos are blank but steel have the photo info. (date, res., size etc.) Do you know what's the prob.? why can't i see my pics.

from some reason (i'm not sure why..) my whole iphoto library got deleted. I restored the whole library from my backup. Now all the photos are blank but steel have the photo info. (date, res., size etc.) Do you know what's the prob.? why can't i see my pics.

It's says that file does not exist. How come? And why does it still show the image info.?
Where can i find those files (i have a daily backup)
The original image files are missing form your iPhoto library or iPhoto cannot find them, because the link to the originals has been broken. The image info is stored in the internal libraries, independent of the original files. That is, why you are still seeing them.
I restored the whole library from my backup.
Try restoring from an older backup, from before you first noticed the problem.
How large is the library, that you restored? Is the file size large enough to hold all your photos, or has the size been reduced?  If the library is still large, the photos may still be inside, even if iPhoto cannot find them.
It's says that file does not exist. How come?
What happened, before your iPhoto library got deleted? Which applications have you been running, or which new software have installed or upgraded?  Have you moved the library to a different disk or tried to use it from different user account or access it over the network?

Restore from backup if you have one:
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • My iTunes got deleted off my computer before I had updated my iPhone!! When I downloaded it again all my app purchases and songs were gone!!! Is there anyway apple can help get them back and who can I contact???

My iTunes got deleted off my computer before I had updated my iPhone. When I reinstalled it everything was gone! I lost all my itune purchased apps and songs!! Is there anyway apple can help me get them back??? And who can I contact?? Please help I really need my music back!!

It has always beenv ery basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.  Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If you have failed to backup, then you can redownload some content.  Open itunes store, click Purchased, under Quick Links

  • My contacts all got deleted from my phone, and was replaced with names and numbers of people I've never met before.

My phone was working as normal, then all of a sudden when I checked my text messages all the names of my contacts got replaced by their actual phone numbers. When I checked my contacts, it looks like everyone got deleted from my phone, and was replaced with names and numbers of people I've never met before. Even when I check my icloud for a backup it has the same issue. I don't know how this is possible and not certain as to how to rectify and get my contacts back.

Hi Also iPhone, need update to ios 8.1.2 do this over WiFi Use same Apple ID & Password. Cheers Brian

First, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
To locate large files, you can use Spotlight as described here. That method may not find large folders that contain a lot of small files.
You can also use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

Plug it back in and restore it from the backup that is made everytime you sync your phone. iPhone forums are here:

If I delete a backup icon for an old iPhone on my iPad will it delete all the photos saved from that phone in my iCloud??

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
It won't affect any photos in photo stream but any photos within the back up itself will go.
