Photos have wrong date information

Hey there, after the OS X update all of my photos have been automatically imported to the Photos app. Nevertheless, half of my gallery has a wrong date information. Don't know why. I deleted all of the photos and imported them again from the iPhoto. Despite the fact, the dates are correct in iPhoto, same problem appeared again. Can anyone help me with this issue, please? Thanks in advance!

Well, the photos didn't come from Aperture. In iPhoto, all the dates are 100% correct, so I don't need to use that tool. Thank you for the link, but it also didn't help me... :/ But I have totally the same problem as the guy.
Some photos, when imported, display as being taken at the time and date imported rather than the actual time taken.
This only happens with some photos, like maybe one out of every couple dozen. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it -- they are not all taken with the same device or in the same time period. It seems totally random which photos are affected.

  • IPhoto imports photos with wrong dates even if the dates are fine on the camera

    Hi!
When I import photos with iPhoto, sometimes it imports them with wrong dates, even the dates are fine on the camera. It puts dates such as 2032. Does anyone know how can I fix that. As far as I know there is no way to change dates of the photos.
    Thanks!

well that is very confusing since if the date is correct on the camera it will be correct in iPhoto

Try looking through your iPhto menus - two commands - adjust time and date and batch change time and date - asjust is used to correct incorrect dates like a comera setting -   Batch change for missing dates like with scans

  • Moved home movies, now they have wrong dates!!!

My Mac was running out of space so I went into an Apple store and an associate suggested that I move my videos to an external drive, which I did. Now all my movies show the incorrect dates! Can I recover the lost metadata?

Video files have no date metadata except the file data. That can easily change when a file is moved, edited and do on. Unlike photos, where the date and time of the shot is tracked in the Exif metadata. So basically, never rely on the file date for a video - it's just not reliable.
One workaround is to name the file with the date - So, London, 1-5-2011 as a filename will sort the problem out for you.
Rather than cut and paste, try doing it the supported way: File -> Export and set the Kind to Original. That will probably preserve the file date, but it's only temporary. Sooner or later you're going to have this problem.

  • Mini months have wrong date

Just over the past few weeks, the mini months at the side of my ical have been showing the wrong dates. eg it says July at the top, but the month shows Sunday as July 1st (dates are for August). Month view in the main calendar is correct.
What is happening and what can I do to fix it?

    Cullodle,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Go to System Preferences...>Language & Text>Formats>Region: and set/refresh your region setting.
Also check for and resolve duplicate fonts using Font Book.
Next refresh your iCal plist. You will find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Quit iCal, drag the com.apple.iCal.plist file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart and check iCal for normal behavior.
If that is unsuccessful, download and reinstall the Mac OS X v10.6.4 Update (Combo).

  • Date Picker Calendar Show Wrong Date Information Dec/Jan 2014-2015

When using a Date Picker, the offered Date for January 1st 2015 is a Friday!  It supposed to be a Thursday!
You can move to February, and return to January again, and it will correct itself.
This happens in Office 2007 and 2010
    What's gone wrong?
IT will also offer the wrong December dates.
    Is there a fix please?

    Re:  Bad date
    Some remote possibilities...
Your computer's clock has an incorrect date
The wrong year is entered somewhere as the first day in 2016 is a friday.
You have the wrong date system selected 1900 vs. 1904 or vice versa.
You have a 3rd party (non MS) Date Picker that is programmed incorrectly.
You have Office 2013 (nothing seems to work there)
There are alternatives and I offer one for Excel...

  • Some photo's have wrong date on iPhone after importing them. Messes up 'moments' in photo's

When importing photo's from my Mac using iTunes, some of them display the incorrect date in the Moments catagory on my iPhone 5S (7.0.3). For example some photo's say 8th June 2001, when they should say 8th June 2012.
In iPhoto on my Mac these photo's orignally had the incorrect date on them, but I changed them all using Photos > Adjust Time And Date and are all fine in iPhoto.
But when I try and sync them again in iTunes, they are still displaying the incorrect date in Photos on my 5S.
    Any help would be appreciated

Had the same Issue and went digging a bit deeper.
It seems that the Collection Feature doesnt grab the EXIF date correctly all the time or relies on the date created of the file directly for some reasons (not sure though).
What you can do to get this fixed:
    1. select all your photos in iPhoto
    2. Menu: Photos -> Adjust Date and Time
        Select Modify Original Files
    3. Go up for 1 Second on ALL photos
    4. Sync again
    5. Go down for 1 SEcond on ALL photos
    6. Sync again
In my case it was indeed necessary to sync in between changing the time for 1 second. might work without for you.

  • Photo with wrong date and time in icloud

i tried to upload some old photo on icloud photo via PC (windows 7)
however the time of photos shown is 15 hours faster than it was capture.
Do anyone can tell me how to solve it? i want to add back all my old photos from my iphone 4 to my new iphone

    Hey Tom -
Apologize for the delayed reply here. Below is what was emailed to me from the P.M. (yes, Product Manager) for FCPX:
"We do try to go into the DV packets during capture and pull out the original date of the capture that’s found in the bitstream.
However—The DV format spec does not require the original date be in the bitstream, and if it’s not there—we have no choice but to use the current date.
So, I can see how what you are describing could happen. Some of the footage has the date, and some doesn’t.   If it’s there—it will be used, but we’re sometimes seeing it go missing."

  • Date & Time Set 2 Months Ahead, TM Backups Have Wrong Date

I've got an iMac here running 10.5.8. The Date & Time accidentally got set to August 11, 2010 a month ago. Backups ran as usual. When the incorrect date was noticed, the user set it back. TM didn't seem to run after that.
I got TM working again, but there are a huge string of backups dated almost 2 months in the future. Does anyone know how to fix something like this?

You have two choices; the easiest is to erase the TM drive, as Kappy says, and let Time Machine start over fresh.
To do that, see #2 in Formatting, Partitioning, Verifying, and Repairing Disks.
The alternative is to delete the future-dated backups, one at a time, via the Time Machine "Star Wars" display. If there really are a lot of them, that will take quit a while. See #12 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum).

  • IPad/iPhone Calendar Invites have wrong dates

When I create a calendar event on Outlook 2010 and it that spans into more 1 day, Ipad/Iphone shows the invite as 1 day late.  For example, created a meeting that spans from Monday @2:00 pm through Tuesday 4:00 pm.  iPad/iPhone users sees the invite as Tuesday through Wednesday which is essentially a day late.  I have the iPhone Set Automatically on Settings - General - Date & Time.  I also have the iPhone set to Time Zone Support (loca) in Settings - Mail, Calendar and Contact = Scroll down to Calendar and selected local time zone.  Anything else I am missing?

On your iPhone, go to settings and then mail, contacts, calendar, etc. Change your default calendar to Entourage.

  • Does new 1402 Activity object in Cloud for Customer have wrong data type namespaces?

I see that the individual "activity" objects (e.g., ActivityTask, AppointmentActivity, etc) are being deprecated as of 1405 and moving to a new Activity object with a TypeCode. That makes a lot of sense.
In reviewing this new Activity object, I've noticed that many of the node elements utilize Data Types in the http://sap.com/xi/Common/DataTypes namespace instead of the http://sap.com/xi/AP/Common/GDT. For example, the root node element UUID has a data type UUID in the http://sap.com/xi/Common/DataTypes namespace, unlike all the other objects in the Public Solution Model.
There are many more elements in this new Activity object that are mismatched like this to other common usage in other objects. Is this a new trend or a mistake?

    Hello Gregory, Alessandro,
    just for clarification:
SAP wanted to eliminate the superflous supplementary components from the data types used in the Business Objects.
Take the GDT Identifier as an example. It has the following supplementary components:
    SCHEME_ID
    SCHEME_VERSION_ID
    SCHEME_AGENCY_ID
    SCHEME_AGENCY_SCHEME_ID
    SCHEME_AGENCY_SCHEME_AGENCY_ID
    CONTENT
You very seldom need the SCHEME_ID or the SCHEME_AGENCY_ID (if the ID is a GTIN or DUNS number then you need them). I never came over a situation to use the SCHEME_AGENCY_SCHEME_AGENCY_ID.
So the data types from the "new" namespace omit those components. But SAP noticed the effort to adapt all the coding.
Therefore it was decided that only new objects will use the data types from the new namepace.
In the case of the ActivityTask, AppointmentActivity, etc. this wil requires - as Alessandro mentioned - some adoption effort.
    HTH,
          Horst

  • Droplets have wrong date created and modified info

When I create a droplet in compressor 3, the created date is 6/22/07 and the modified date is 6/19/2008. Not a disaster, just wondering if anyone else is seeing this and if it's a symptom of some problem lurking in the wings.

If your operating system is Unix then it will store the file with date modified.
And your file adapter will take Modified date only.

  • I have a large number of photos imported into iPhoto with the dates wrong.  How can I adjust multiple photos (with varying dates) to the same, correct, date?

I have a large number of photos imported into iPhoto with the dates wrong.  How can I adjust multiple photos (with varying dates) to the same, correct, date?

If I understand you correctly, when you enter a date in the Adjust Date and Time window, the picture does not update with the date you enter.  If that is the case then something is wrong with iPhoto or your perhaps your library.
How large a date change are you putting in?  iPhoto currently has an issue with date changes beyond about 60 years at a time.  If the difference between the current date on the image and the date you are entering is beyond that range that may explain why this is not working.
If that is not the case:
Remove the following to the trash and restart the computer and try again:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.iphoto
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iPhoto (There may be more than one. Remove them all.)
---NOTE: to get to the "home > library" hold down option on the keyboard and click on "Go" > "Library" while in the Finder.
    Let me know the results.

  • Events has incorrect date range even though photos have been correctly adjusted

I'm using iPhoto '11 (9.1.2) and have imported a bunch of old photos that had incorrect exif data, presumably from the camera having the wrong date set at the time.  For example I have an event called "Christmas 08" which contained photos dated from 4-6 Dec 2028; which I've since deduced were actually taken 4-6 Jan 2008.  Knowing that iPhoto can correct this sort of error I used the Photos > Adjust date and time menu option to take over 7200 days off the images and overwrite the originals into the bargain.  Initially the results looked good - all the photos from the 26 affected events now show the correct date information in the info panel and when one of the events is selected the date range shown in the info panel reflects the new date range of the photos within it.
Weirdly though, the dates shown underneath the event are still the 2028 dates and the event is still ordered chronologically after my recent 2011 photos - consequently these events are considered "within the last 12 months" by iTunes even though the photos are all correctly identified as around 2.5 years old. Presumably this will mean that these events are set float at the top of my events list and plague me for the next 17 years unless this gets fixed.
What should I be doing to make iPhoto do the right thing?
    Thanks,
    Rob

This has been reported several times in iPhoto '11 version 9.1.2 - it appears to be a bug - the only reported workaround that has been posted is to correct the dates on the photos and create a new event with them - try flagging all of the photos in the bad event after the dates are correct and then create a new event from the flagged photos
You can search the forums to see the other discussions
I would expect a correction in a future upgrade
