Photos in Keynote

Hi, I'm having trouble adding photos to keynote. I'm trying to make a presentation with mostly photos. I have no issues putting the photos in, but they change colour when I drag them into the placeholders. Does anyone know how to change this? I haven't worked with keynote in a long time and don't remember ever having any problems with it before. Any help would be hugely appreciated!

I have the same problem with the latest version of Keynote from the Appstore: when I drag in photos the colors are faded as compared with the original.
If i drag the same photos into Fotomagico, the colors stay the same as the original. So how to keep Keynote from messing with the color?
While Keynote does have the option to enhance the colors, I'd prefer to have KN just leave my original photo color alone.

Add photo to keynote

Is there no way to insert a photo in to a keynote page with out installing I photo? Iphoto is a horrible piece of software for any one other than facebook folks.
Keynote keeps telling me to go to Iphoto too get an image and will not let me choose from either a file location or even aperture, much less Lightroom or Photoshop.
Please let me know if I am missing something.

That did work but i was trying to use the simple button that says media/pictures within Keynote and it says to go to Iphoto. So i guess we must have multiple apps open to achieve the simple now.

Multiple photos in keynote?

Can multiple images be inserted into Keynote (ipad2 version), with 1 image per slide (similar to the Photo Album feature on a PC using PowerPoint). I'd also want to add music. I don't have a mac, so can't create the presentation in the version of keynote first. I've played around with this iPad app, but can't find an 'insert multiple photos' option. Thanks for your help.

Not sure I understand what you're trying to do. If you're looking for an easy way to create multiple slides, where each slide should display one photo, then no, that's not possible. Add slide, add photo to slide, add another slide, add photo to that slide, and so on. There's no shortcut (that I know of).

Add mouse-over text to photos in keynote '09

Hi,
I'm creating a presentation, and I would like additional text to appear when a user slides their mouse over the photo in the slideshow. For example, when I'm editing the slides, when I hold the mouse over the photo it says, "This image is a placeholder. Drag a new media file here to replace it". Is this possible? Can I change that text so that when a user plays a presentation, they can hold their mouse over the photo and see additional information?

Just drag the image file from the Finder onto the slide. (I use Keynote extensively, and I never use the Media palette.)

When my students drag photos off the web into Keynote, they can't always save them. The message we get is something about the file name being too long, so the file becomes "missing"....

Can I close-crop, or freehand crop a photo in Keynote?

I am trying to put a family member in a group photo who was not there earlier in the evening. Is there a freehand crop or erase tool so that I can close crop her into the picture?

No Y axis rotation for photos at Keynote 8?

I would like to be able to rotate my, imported at Keynot 8 , photos at Y axis. It seems that Keynote is able to rotate the photos only at the other to axis. Anyone have any idea on that? Thanks.

I wondered how to do this a few days ago. The Help menu in Keynote has a great help function. I typed "rotate image" into the search box, and it came up with this:
Here are ways to change an object’s orientation:
To flip an object horizontally or vertically, select the object, and then choose Arrange > Flip Horizontally or Arrange > Flip Vertically.
You can also click Inspector in the toolbar, click the Metrics Inspector button, and then use the Flip buttons.
To rotate an object, select the object, hold down the Command key and move the pointer toward an active selection handle until it changes to a curved, double-headed arrow, and then drag a selection handle.
To rotate an object in 45-degree increments, press the Shift and Command keys while dragging a selection handle.
You can also click Inspector in the toolbar, click the Metrics Inspector button, and then drag the Rotate wheel or use the Angle controls to set the angle of the object.
To rotate a shape but keep its text horizontal, after rotating the shape choose Format > Shape > Reset Text and Object Handles.

Inserting FULL-SIZE Photos into Keynote or PowerPoint

I want to make a slideshow (preferably PowerPoint) from 100 photos I put into iPhoto. The usual way (Insert-Picture) means that the photo comes in either very small or larger than the slide and I have to resize each one manually.
What I want to do is have inserted photos fit the slide automatically with no resizing.
And I'd like to insert all 100 photos at the same time so that each one is put on its own slide. (I could do this with PP for Windows).
I haven't been able to figure this out at all and I have to put on a presentation tonight!!! Help, please!!

I'm looking to rotate or skew photos so they appear at a 3D angle as if you were viewing them from the side. Is this possible with any IWork or iLife apps?

I haven't seen this, but I don't do a lot of video exporting. My first guess would be that the files may be larger than the prior files... attempting to play at a higher bitrate and the PC is choking on them. Can you compare against a prior exported .mp4 file to determine if the bit rate is any different? Also, make sure that VLC hasn't been updated either.

How do I add Photos into a Keynote in Yosemite?

I've recently updated to Yosemite, and I deeply regret it. I used iPhoto and Keynote a lot, and it seems that EVERYTHING is different (not for the better). I am currently working on a project and trying to insert pictures from Photos into Keynote. When I attempt to copy the picture, as you could previously do in iPhoto, and paste it into Keynote it doesn't work. The drag also doesn't work. The drag works when I save each individual photo to the desktop, but that's entirely too time consuming for such a large project. When I try to search media and insert the photo, all I can see is pictures from PhotoBooth. I'm very frustrated and in need of help. Please, somebody, help! I'm a long-term Mac user and I've never been so disappointed.

You need to set the Photos Library:
Quit Photos.
Hold down the Option key, then open Photos. One of the photo libraries is already designated as YourLibraryName (System Photo Library).
Choose the library you want to designate as the System Photo Library.
After Photos opens the library, choose Photos > Preferences from the menu bar.
Click the General tab.
Click the Use as System Photo Library button.

BUG? Keynote media browser can't see edited photos.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
After cropping a photo in Camera Roll within "Photos" I am unable to insert the edited photo
in Keynote or Pages via the Media Browser.
The built-in MEDIA browser, inserts the unedited photos in Keynote or Pages for iPad.
Of course, I can "copy" the eidted photo in "Photos", and then paste into Keynote. or Pages, but
how can I force the Keynote Media browser to see the updated photo and not revert to the original?

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

TS1314 Keynote to access my photos

A year ago I made several Keynote presentations with no problem using pictures from my iPad's camera roll. I am trying to make more presentations now, and I can't get my iPad to allow Keynote to access my photos. I have gone into Keynote and tried to replace a photo. I get a message to go to Settings>Privacy>Photos and tell it to allow Keynote to access photos. When I go into my settings as told, there is no apps that I can allow my photos to access. In case I have messed with my Privacy settings in that year, I have Reset Location/Privacy settings. This hasn't helped. I need help getting my photos into Keynote.

You said that you don't see any apps in Settings>Privacy>Photos at all?
Did you try just rebooting the iPad? Hold down on the sleep and home buttons until the Apple Logo appears on the screen?
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. That returns the iPad settings to factory defaults and you will have to re-enter all of the settings again. That gives you a clean slate and in theory, you should be able to allow Keynote to access the photos again. You will have to do that will all apps that want to access photos as well. You will have to turn locations services on again, reset all privacy settings, turn Siri on, select your wallpaper, adjust brightness ..... All settings will have be adjusted to where you had them.
It is somewhat time consuming (I have done this myself) but its not like you have to enter all of the settings all at once. You just reset them as you go along and as those situations come up again.

Insert Photostream Photo into iOS Keynote

Hi All,
Running in a problem I can't solve:
I am trying to insert a photo from one of my Shared Photostreams into an iOS Keynote document, however, when I tap the "+", then "media" to view all my photos, none of my shared photostreams appear in the list of photo albums to choose from. Can't for the life of me figure out why. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nope. Never found a solution. I resorted to copying a pasting images into my document (between Photos and Keynote), which is lame, but at least a functional work around until an answer to this question is discovered.
