Photos in Monitor Pixelated and Offset

All - see screen shot below. Don't know why the photos in monitor are pixelated and offset (echeloned to right by bands).
The same ones in slideshow viewer are fine.  The problem is, when I preview, I get the bad shots.  Need help!  Thanks...

  • PRE 9 - Photos - recommendation for pixel and resolution setting

I would like to integrate photos in between video segments, as well as on the actual video.  Before bringing these photos into PRE 9, what should I resize the photos to (pixels and resolution). I will be using Premiere Elements to resize the photos.   I'm burning a HD DVD at 1920x1080 pixels.
    Thank you.

I agree with Neale. Scaling the images in PS/PSE, to just the pixel x pixel dimensions that you need will do two things for you: get you the best quality, and eliminate excess overhead, when pushing a bunch of unused pixels around. This ARTICLE will give you more. Note: it was started, before HD took over the market, so just read all of the 720 x 480 dimensions as 1920 x 1080 (in your case). I went on to add comments on HD, but some get confused, when they see the 720 x 480 in the beginning.
    Good luck,

  • Photos in ibook pixellated and blurry

After creating and editing several ibooks, the photos my latest book, edited over SEVERAL HOURS, reopened the next day blurred and pixellated.  When created, the photos in the book were tack sharp ( I have used Photoshop for more than 10 years and the photos are correct in size and resolution).  The photos in the other books are sharp but the photos in this book will not return to their original sharp condition.  Yes, I can waste several more hours redoing the book but why should I?  Any reason why this happens that anyone knbows?  I have the latest imac and the latest OSX and the latest iphoto version.  Thanks if you can explain it.

Not come across that one before, might be a caching issue.
    Option 1
Back Up and then try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.

  • When I open a new photo it looks pixelated and blurry but that is not how the original looks.

  • I've been using Aperture now for the past 7 months and really happy with it, however in the past two days any photos I download are heavily pixelated and blurry. When I download the same shots to any other program they are fine.

    Hi,
I've been using Aperture now for several months without any issues except for the last couple of days...when I now download my shots from the memory card the photos are heavily pixelated and blurry but when loaded to iPhoto they are fine.
Can someone tell me what the problem could be and how to fix it.

Is Aperture doing any processing?  ("Window→Show Activity" -- anything there?)
Are the Images pixilated/degraded when shown in the Viewer as well as in the Browser?  (Double-click an Image to open it in the Viewer.)
How 'bout at 100%? (In the Viewer, press "z" to zoom to 100%.  The "z" key toggles the zoom.)
Does generating a new Preview remove the pixilation?  (Select an Image in the Browser, hold down "{Option}" and click "Photos→Generate Preview".)

  • Shadows pixelated and blocked

Aperture has been running fine for me. Then after i calibrated both my macbook pro sr 2.4 and my formac 2010 gallery with eyeone 2 and coloreyes, the shadows in my photos are really pixelated and very noisy.
Even a photo of our black and white dog in daytime shows pixelated blacks.
If i open the same image in cs3 or dpp there is no problem.
If i export the image from aperture to cs3 it looks fine.
if i import an image that looks fine in cs3 it pixelates again.
    Very confused
    Mike

    I was wrong
Images exported from aperture to cs3 still look pixelated (very bad)
Something is going wrong in aperture.
It can not be the calibration as both monitors look the same and look great.
    The shadows are actually posterized.
In fact after i calibrated things have been fine in aperture. The problem has only just happened

  • My iphone 4s suddenly displays images from Yahoo, Google, and Flickr at low resolution. The camera on my phone works fine, but any web related photo content is now pixelated and low res, what's the deal?

My iphone 4s suddenly displays images from Yahoo, Google, and Flickr at a low resolution. I have IOS 7.0.4. My phone camera works fine, but any web based photo content from Safari, Yahoo images, Google images, and Flickr all come in pixelated and low res. What's the deal?

It happened to me but later I figured out that cellular signal was not that great and so the Internet was very slow. It took me about 2 minutes to get the full resolution picuture on either of the app you've described. Try to get faster internet either by wifi or good signal and then check.

    Galdaplh,
What do you mean by "reverting to photo"?  "Revert" is not a function in Aperture so you must be talking about something else.
If you just performed the import of that many photos, Aperture will take some time to generate thumbnails.  You can see if it is doing this sort of thing by {Command}-{Shift}-0 to show the Activity window.
Once Aperture generates all its thumbnails, you will have nearly instantaneous access to much, much better thumbnails than Aperture uses immediately after importing photos.

  • Laptop monitor choice for photo editing with lightroom and photoshop

    Hi,
i'm going to buy a laptop, mostly for photo editing with lightroom and photoshop use.
I'm in trouble with the display choice.
One laptop has LG LP156WF4 or AUO B156HAN01 display, that should be very similar matte ips display with 55%-60% coverage of AdobeRGB. You can find a review in the "Display" section of these link : http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Clevo-W650SJ-Schenker-M504-Barebones-Notebook.114329.0 .html
The other laptop hasAU Optronics B156HW01 V.4 Matte 95%, that is a TN matte display with  95% coverage of AdobeRGB. You can find a review in these link (the display should be the green bar): http://www.anandtech.com/show/4649/mythlogic-pollux-1400-clevos-w150hr-tested/6
My question is: which one is better for photo editing with photoshop and lightroom?
Someone says that ips is better because of the fidelity of color reproduction, view angles and contrast.
Someone, on the other side, says that the TN 95% is better because of the gamut%.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks,
    Marco Grechi

Macbook pro is out of budget
Hp assistance said that in italy they don't sell laptop with dreamcolor (i'll call again tomorrow to be sure ) but i think that it would be out of budget (max 2000 euro).
They said that the best solution for me is the zbook 15 g2 (2300 euro), but they DON'T know brand and model of the display and if i can have SSD + HD inside the zbook 15 g2.
The laptop with the lg panel costs 1500 euro. the question is; "i know that the lg display is not the best, but is it almost sufficient for my use?". In this way i may save 500/800 to buy a separated display later.
I have read that dell xps 15 and dell precision m3800 have great display, but they are glossy and very reflective. Is it a big handicap?
    Do you know the 3k 15,6" display Panasonic VVX16T020G00 ? It should be a 8-bit display with 72%NTSC gamut ( http://www.panelook.com/VVX16T020G00_Panasonic_15.5_LCM_parameter_22014.html )
Do you sugget me a 3k display for photo editing?

  • Pixelation and Banding

Help - just today most of the photos appear on my display (iMac 24) as severely pixelated and banded in the darker areas. They still print okay. I am using 1.5.6 and Leopard. It is not the calibration on my display as I've imported several photos to iPhoto and there is no problem. Has anyone else experienced this and have you been able to resolve the issue.

I am thinking your discrete graphics chip may be toast.
You might be able to (with the help of a T500 owner) navigate through the BIOS to turn integrated graphics back on, but there's no guarantee.
I'd also try using an external monitor in case it's a different problem --but I think your pixelation and banding was the beginning indicators of your problem.  Hopefully you still have warranty coverage; if not, I think you probably should have started talking to technical support when this started happening.  You could very well need a mainboard replacement.

  • Previews in Bridge get pixelated and discolored after adjustments?

Hello, I'm using Bridge 5.0.1.23 x64 via Photoshop CS6.  I'm processing some low-light nighttime photos that require me to boost the "shadows" slider most of the way to the right to get the look I need.  After doing this, I've noticed that the previews in Bridge look pixelated and purple in all of the shadow areas.
Is there a way to solve this?
Screen shot attached.  It makes the previews nearly worthless.

I don't see that option.  Here's what the "Thumbnail" tab of my options looks like:
The thumbnails do show the same weird color effects, but I'm far more concerned with the previews than the thumbnails.
Other settings that seem like they might be relevant:
"Keep 100% Previews In Cache" is checked (under Cache tab)
"Generate Monitor-Size Previews" is checked (under Advanced)
"Preserve Embedded Color Profile" is checked (under Output)
Thanks for troubleshooting with me . . .

  • Pixels and size???

I would like to create a iDVD movie of my wedding pictures. I am editing them on iphoto. My question involves the constrain editing tool. There is button for DVD contrain and when I click on it, it crops my picture in thirds. I thought it might shrink it to fit the size. Being new to this, I am not quite sure what to do. Does that mean the picture that was cropped to thirds will only show that cropping on the DVD even if I didn't choose that as a constraint? What should the pixel and size be for a photo I am using on a DVD to get the best quality? I read in a former discussion that I need to resize photos on export, but isn't that just tedious? Why wouldn't iphoto include a resizing tool in their edit program? Or am I missing something? Many questions, I know. Thanks for any answers.

I'm not an expert but I did create an iMovie from stills and I put it onto DVD a while back.
Does each picture need to be 4x3 (the dvd size stated).<<<</div>
Nope. Mine varied all over the map. However, when you view on a computer monitor or a conventional TV, anything other than 4X3 will have black bands to fill up the empty space. That's NOT a size - it's an "aspect ratio" - width X height ratio.
On the help page, it says standard needs to be 720 x 540.<<<</div>
That figure sounds like the pixel count for a conventional TV. If your photo has fewer pixels, the image will not fill the screen. If your photo has more pixels, the screen will show only a portion. Bottom line is that one pixel in your photo becomes one pixel on the screen. You'll have a worse situation with computer monitors because the resolution is configurable.
Also, how do I know if the resolution is good enough to print?<<<</div>
Ummm... In your first post, you said that you want to create a movie. You're not going to print from a movie.

  • In 26.0, how do I put Download, Bookmarks, History, and Tags into separate windows? I have multi-monitor system and place these different windows . . .

    Hello,
I recently, decided to upgrade from 19.0b to the current (26.0) version, as "Tab Utilities" now supports 26, but am finding one of the visual changes counter productive. My two workstations have multiple monitors. One has 2 monitors (2560x1600) and the other one has 4 monitors (2560x1600). On both workstations, I'll place the various Firefox informational windows off the "main monitor" (the one directly in front of me). This way they're available to me at a glance.
(Side note: I refer to my monitors, as 2L, 1 2R and the 4th as "auxiliary.") The one thing I miss most is being able size these Firefox windows independently and in different positions.
I mean I'm used to seeing "Download" on monitor 2R on the right side (1/8 of screen) behind Microsoft Process Explorer's System Information. While the History will be on monitor 2L on the right side at 1/4 of the screen). I'm used to glancing out my right eye at the downloads and when needing something from the past, it's right next to the main monitor #1. This way I can access history quickly.
I can see why a developer (with one monitor say 1920 x 1080) would love seeing one window, but why can't Firefox support both single and multiple monitor users at the same?
Anyway, is there a way to get 26.0 to place at least "Download" and "History" in separate sizable windows?
(I'm not jumping up and down to go back to 19.0b or to try 25, but would like to stay current.)

    Hello,
Thank you for your very quick reply. Before I read your reply completely, let me see if I can answer your first concern.
    > Maybe I am missing your point.
Maybe I'm not making the point properly. Honestly, I never explained the issue from how it is directly affecting me.
OK, let's do a real world example of what I'm seeing on my two monitor system. I'll first describe what I experienced with 19.0b and earlier, which is IMHO how it should work in 26 and beyond ('''''as an option'''''). Next, I'll review what I'm seeing in 26.0. Hopefully this will help you understand what changed, from a practical perspective.
In 19.0b (and how I like working) for a multiple monitor system:
On the main monitor, I'm running Firefox. It is 1920 x 1080 and is in the lower right hand corner.
On the the monitor to my right (2R), I have the Download Manager list of downloading and downloaded file. It is in the upper right hand corner and takes up about 300 x 1500 pixels.
For a two monitor system, I have the History List running beside Firefox in the lower right hand corner and it is 600 x 1080.
For a three (plus) monitor system, I have the History List running on my left (2L) monitor. It is in the lower right hand corner and is 600 x 1080 pixels big.
For 26.0: I'm seeing the following:
On the main monitor, I'm running Firefox. It is 1920 x 1080 and is in the lower right hand corner. (This is the SAME as with 19.0b.)
When I start the Download Manager and have it set up as I do for 19.0b, it looks OK. It is on monitor 2R and is 450 x 1500 pixels (because of the new navigation side bar).
'''''The problem STARTS NOW (when I start the History List).'''''
When starting the History List, it replaces the Download Manger on the 2R monitor in the 450 x 1500 pixel window. This doesn't work for me because:
    1) It is too far away to see. (NOTE: I put it on the 2L monitor in the lower right hand corner. so I can see it easier for the 3+ monitor. In the case of the 2 monitor, I put it beside Firefox again to see it easier.)
Some might ask, but the Download Manager is on the 2R and right side, why can't the History List be there too? Good question, and I can only reply saying:
    1) Personal choice.
    2) The Download Manager is NOT as busy as the History List and I find it easy to read.
    3) The History List is a lot busier and the font size looks to be smaller (might be the same, but it looks smaller to my eyes). I need it closer to me / Firefox.
What I'm saying is this . . . The Download Manager and History List have <ul>''valid reasons to be visible to the user at the same time''.</ul> They also need to be independent of one another for (at least) size and location.
Combining them together is OK for some people, but NOT for everyone. Please make it an option to combine (as in 26) and separate (25 and earlier).
I'm not sure this is the best way to put it, but here goes. Allow users to collapse or expand these various lists by using multiple windows. One window is the collapse view and multiple independent windows is the expand view.
I'll read and comment on the rest of your reply, soon. Thanks for allowing me hopefully to explain my point in a better manner. :-)

So, on my Ipad 2, several photos imported thru Iphoto are being rendered pixelated and when any edits are attempted, the photo app crashes. photos saved on the ipad thru its camera or saved from emails and safari are fine. i double checked my iphoto library and the jpg files are perfectly fine. • How to set a thumbnail photo in Azure AD? Sync thumbnail photos between Exchange Online and Azure AD?

We're interested in downloading the thumbnail photo for users in an O365 tenant using the REST API, but we're stumped regarding how to set a thumbnail photo for a user in Azure AD.  We haven't found a way to do it via the user interface and it doesn't
appear to sync between Exchange Online and Azure AD.  The only sync reference we've been able to find is between Windows Server AD and Azure AD which is not applicable in our use case?
Any pointers on how to get the thumbnail photo set?

    Greetings!
You may use the sample (Malar has shared above) which helps how to query Azure AD using the Graph API, demonstrates additional REST functionality to Get and Set User Details, including thumbnail photos.
    Would like to add:
    http://matthewyarlett.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/add-or-update-user-profile-picture.html
You can use the AD module for PowerShell for getting / setting the AD user.
Would like to re-iterate that there are constraints on the sizes and formats supported for the
thumbnailPhoto Active Directory attribute. As a general guideline, keep your images to 96x96 pixels and under 10Kb, using JPG format.
    Thank you,
