Photos integrated with GPS Maps

With the Location settings enabled for your camera, can you send geotagged photos to other iPhone users as a way for them to get directions to your location?
Let's say I needed directions to meet up with my friends. Is it possible for them to just take a picture of their location, send it to me, have the picture integrated into my GPS maps, and get directions to their location?
Is this possible? Anyone know? If not, wouldn't that be a good idea? Would it be difficult?

One of many ways would be to add this in the bookmarks in your gps maps. So far there are only 3 options to select
1. Bookmarks
2. Recents
3. Contacts
Can't they add "Geotagged Photos" or something to that extent?
I know this isn't the place to do it.. So I won't entertain this much longer. I thought for sure our photos would be integrated with the GPS maps.
Is there at least a specific social network application that closely resembles that? If so, which one?

  • Integration of Oracle field service with GPS

    Hi,
Is Oracle field service 11.5.9 integrated with GPS (Global Positioning System)?
    If 'No' any work around?
    Thanks,
    Rizwan

    Hi,
Field Service Dispatch Center has Map feature using which a Dispatcher can get a GIS map display of the assigned work, along with the Plan Board and Gantt chart views.
Mobile Field Service Wireless for PDAs has the ability to get driving directions (with a map display) between the assigned tasks. Further, a Field Service Technician can receive directions between any two addresses.
    Hope this helps.

  • Google Map Integration with Map Viewer is not working

    Hi Team,
    My MapViewer Version: Ver11_1_1_7_B130111
I have created a Google Map (with Type of Map Source as "Google Maps") in Oracle Map Viewer and i could see google map in Oracle Map Viewer(using "show Map").
I wanted to show a village map theme over the above google map in a web page and i am using Jdeveloper to integrate map viewer with Village data. I could see the google maps inside Jdeveloper however when i run the Jdeveloper code google map is not shown inside the web page.
I tried with Oracle Maps, Bing Maps as the "map source" in map viewer and tried integrating inside Jdeveloper and got same result (blank screen). However when i tried a different mapviewer ( Base Map ELOCATION.WORLD_MAP from OracleFMW MapViewer Home ) i could see the map in the web page.
I could get all other base maps (created with "internal" as the map source") in the web page, so there is some thing that i am missing with Google Maps, Bing Maps, Oracle Maps. Could you please help me what is that i am missing or point to a help resource?
    Thanks
    Nag

    Hi Jayanth,
Issue is solved after creating the web page using latest JDeveloper (11.1.2.4). Thanks a lot for your help

  • Integrated configuration with parameterized mapping

    Dear All,
My scenario is using integrated configuration AAE. I am trying parameterized mapping with Integrated configuratiion but it throws an error saying that AAE doesnt support parameterized mapping.
I am uisng PI 7.1 I wanted to know doest PI 7.3 support this or which service pack on PI 7.1 support Parametrized mapping with AEE.
    Any thoughs on this.
    chirag

    Hi Chirag,
Integrated Configuration Scenario with Parameterized mapping is not supported in PI 7.1, 7.1 EHP1 or even in 7.3
This is a limitation with AAE based scenarios. However, you can still use Parameterized mapping in Classical Scenarios(ID,RD,SA,RA). This is well supported in PI 7.1 and higher versions.
Please take a look for the CAUTION statement in the following link:

  • Can I use offline maps with GPS on the 5C?

I am going on vacation abroad soon and my new iPhone 5C will be non-roaming because of the stupidly expensive internet data charges when out of the phone provider's home country. I will probably even pull the SIM card out to be 100% sure.
But I would still like to use it for GPS positioning when I am out walking about and then I must use off-line maps (like I have done with Google Maps on my Android phone).
Is it possible to download off-line maps to the iPhone while I am in the hotel and have a Wi-Fi connection and then the phone will use the downloaded maps when I am walking about the place outside of WiFi range?
If so, how do I set it up?

On the Android phone I have used MyTacks, which I believe is a Google app. I use version 1.1.16 currently and it is NOT able to use cached maps even though I can save maps in Google Maps for offline use while driving.
So if I use Google Maps I can see where I am now on the downloaded offline map, but there is no tracing of the walked path being done. If I use My Tracks it records the track but I cannot see it on a map until I am back in WiFi range.
I had hoped for the iPhone 5C to at least provide the possibility to use cached maps when locating my position....
What app do you suggest I use?

  • Map to use with GPS with out internet

I am on Holiday and would like to use my 110W with a map and the built in GPS. Is there a map I can download to the drive and the use the built in GPS to navigate? I have Google Earth now but that requires a internet connection to work. The map would have to be of Israel. Any ideals?
    Thanks Furman

Tech support advised me that this will not work. Time Machine can not backup to an shared network drive unless unless it is connected to Time Capsule. No doubt this is a marketing strategy and not a design flaw.

  • How does GPS work with Google Maps?

So far I always use GPS with Google Maps and do not understand other usage. I find it is very useful for some places where I do not know exactly where it is. I do not really know how it is working. I learnt that the built-in GPS receiver must be working in an opening field - seeing the sky. I find it works in shopping malls, offices, cars, etc. where they cannot see the sky. I got the answers from my friends that A-GPS, cellular network and internet are replaced with GPS to provide the location or search your target if the location cannot see sky. It sounds the GPS is not much useful as more than 50% of actual usage without seeing the sky. Can someone shed some light on to me how my iPhone 4 is working with Google Maps in real life.

It starts by getting a quick rough estimation of your location using nearby cell towers or WiFi hotspots (if WiFi is on). Then it gradually pinpoints your location to a greater degree of accuracy as the various GPS satellites register your location.
Obviously, no GPS system can work if the device cannot "see" the satellites well. That's governed by the laws of physics, which is why the iPhone also uses cell towers and WiFi hotspots to assist.

  • ICal integration with map

I would like to link the LOCATION information from iCal with a map, ideally so this can be viewed at my website
    Suggestions?

    Hi Coen
I have the same issue. Looks like "open connector" needs to be installed on outlook in order for it to work with CalDav standards. However, I have had no luck in finding any documentation.
Apple says that this works with snow leopard. If only they had a published example!
This is what's stopping my company from buying a mac server. If I could get outlook calendaring to work with it, we would definitely jump on!

  • Problem with GPS on Nokia 5800

Some days back i had big problem in getting GPS work to get my current location. I followed some intsturctions provided by one of the forum members and it seems to have worked.
Now the problem is, even when i am in the open area where satellite status  shows more than 5 available, i am unable to get a lock on my current position. Instead i get "GPS works poorly on indoors..." message. My mobile is still under warranty. Should i need to go and check with Nokia Care center? or is this could a confiugration problem?
i have Assisted, Network and integrated enabled and have GPRS enabled.
Any help would be realy apprecieated
Not to mention, i am on 4x firmware with latest Maps software and also have downloaded India Maps using maps downloader
    Cheers

    Hi KarthikK
This message sounds as if device can't communicate with the "Positioning server" so I would check that it is "supl.nokia.com" and confirm in Destinations > Internet that your desired network access point is prioritized.
Latest Nokia Maps v3.04Beta also utilizes an additional positioning method, Wi-fi/Network to speed up positional fix especially indoors as per screenshot:http://i43.tinypic.com/2mrcq68.jpg
