Photos missing from an ipad sync appear if first modified in iphoto album

Performed a test with 5 photos in an iphoto album.  Went to itunes Advanced, selected photos to be shared, selected test album.  Quantiy shown was 4.  Went back to iphoto album, edited each photo 1 at a time.  when the last photo was edited itunes then showed that there were 5 photos in that album.

  • HT4859 iCloud backed up my iPad at 3:00 pm yesterday. After that I inadvertently deleted an app called Good Reader with a significant amount of data. Good reader is now missing from my iPad, but appears on my iCloud  account.  How do I get it back?

ICloud backed up my iPad yesterday at 3:00 pm. After that I inadvertently deleted an app called Good Reader which contained a lot of data. iCloud still shows the app, how do I get it back to my iPad?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
To recover completely you'd need to restore from a back up that contained the app data. Alternatively you can just restore the app by redownloading it.
You can re-download content purchased from the app store using the purchased option which is revealed by tapping the updates option at the bottom of the screen of the App store app on your iOS device.

  • My husband just got an iPad and we are wondering if he can sync the iPad to my lap top since I already have my iPhone synced to the laptop. We do not want to intermix the contacts, photos, etc from his iPad onto my iPhone or my iPhone info onto his iPad.

You should be able to sync both to the same iTunes - I sync my iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch to the same computer. With the iPad connected and selected on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, you can use the tabs on the right-hand side to select which of your iTunes content to sync to it, so you can control which apps, photos, music etc are synced to it, and (via the Info tab) from which email account your contacts are synced from. Your computer's iTunes should remember your syncing preferences for each device.

I assume that you haven't got a backup copy of them (?). You can copy photos that were originally synced from a computer off the iPad via third-party apps such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network - you can then sync them to your other iPad. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

  • HT201077 How do I get my shared photo streams from my ipad to my iPhone?

How do I get my photo streams from my ipad to sync to my iphone?

Your iPhone must also be signed into the same iCloud account as the iPad. Then look in Settings/iCloud/Photo Stream and ensure both My Photo Stream and Shared Photo Streams are turned on.

  • Managing my photo collection from an iPad

I would like to manage my photo collection from an iPad. It sounds simple enough, but I keep hitting barriers every way I turn.
Here's the setup: I have about 150Gb of photos, so far too much to put on an iPad. Those are stored on a PC and available via Windows File Sharing.
The vision is for me to sit on the couch, flipping through photos, moving some to folders, deleting others as I go.
It sounds like a simple file management app will do the trick, but none I have tried are up to the task (and I have wasted money buying a number of them, why can't iOS do trial apps like Android?). They either do not support Windows File Share, or do not show a thumbnail of the pictures (I cannot open each photo to find out what in it).
I did try to sync a sub-set of photos to the iPad, but folders and changes I make do not get synced back to the PC. It might be called sync, but it is actually just a one way copy.
As well as moving photos around in the file structure I also want to do simply editing. Like rotating, cropping, that sort of thing. It seems the apps that do file management don't do editing and visa versa.
Things like photobooth will let me edit a photo, but it drops the result back into the photo stream instead of where it came from on the Windows machine. I can get the photo stream back to the PC, but it’s a pain as I then have to work out which directory to put it back into.
I find it incredible that tasks that are so simply on a laptop are so difficult on the iPad. The iPad seems ideal for this use.
Is there are app that will do this?

Photos that were originally synced from a computer can be copied off via third-party iPad apps such as Simple Transfer (which has a free lite version called Simple Photo & Video Transfer which you can try first), which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on the computer.
Have you not got a backups of the originals on external drives ?

  • Random sequential groups of photos missing from Events and iPhoto Slideshow but are in an Album. How do I recover or copy photos back to Events and rebuild slideshow?

Random sequential groups of photos missing from Events, an Album I created, and a slideshow using the photos. This "appears" to have happened when upgrading to Yosemite. When I use iPhoto Library Manager, I see two entries for the Event Information for the date in question, same name, same number of photos, but different sizes. The smaller has the image number but no photo for the given date; the larger has the photos.
Image path for the version with all photos: /Volumes/Promise Pegasus/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Previews/2010/2010_05_24/IMG_0697.jpg
Image path for the version with missing photos: /Volumes/Promise Pegasus/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Previews/2010/2010_05_24_2/IMG_0697.jpg (NOTE the _2 added to the image number.)
I assume that I have to get the missing pictures back in Events so I can reload back into the Album. Hopefully, the slideshow will magically be better.
    Help!

That's an indication that the link/file path between the thumbnail and the master file has been broken.  Do the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
    2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

  • How do I delete photo library from my iPad?

how do i delete the photo library from my ipad?

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen or via the Edit button in thumbnail view. If you want to select and delete a lot of photos then in thumbnail view tap the Edit button and then try touching the first photo with two fingers and then slide the two fingers (not too quickly) across the photos that you want to remove and they should get ticked (it might take a few attempts)
Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing - if you want to delete all synced photos then try selecting and syncing an empty folder.

  • My wife and I both have the new iPhones.  Is there a way to set up two separate iCloud accounts but have photo stream from both phones sync with one family mac?  So we don't want to share contacts or anything else, just photos... Thanks in advance

My wife and I both have the new iPhones.  Is there a way to set up two separate iCloud accounts but have photo stream from both phones sync with one family mac?  So, we don't want to share contacts or anything else, just photos... Thanks in advance

If you turned off Contacts wouldnt that mean that the Contacts would no longer be backed up to iCloud as well? That would make it a pain when upgrading a phone to not easily pull contacts back down.

  • HT4101 Can I load photo's from my IPad back onto my SD card through the Camera Connection Kit?

Can I load photo's from my IPad back onto my SD card through the Camera Connection Kit?

No, it only supports the copying of photos and videos to the Photos app on the iPad, not from the iPad. You can copy photos that you've copied to the iPad via the kit to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083

  • Photos Missing From Album

I upgraded to 10.10.3 and when opening the photos app, all of my albums successfully migrated.  The only issue is that my IPhoto albums were sorted by name and that sort didn't follow.  I unchecked the sort by date and it put most of them in the right place and I manually sorted the rest.  I shut down the program and came back to it a few hours later.  There are now photos missing from the album.  I can't figure out what happened.  I looked in the recently deleted photos and they are not there.  I have them backed up both in IPhoto and in a separate folder, but before I bring them back in I need to know what happened.  Anybody have any ideas???

I agree it would be helpful to know what happened, but I suspect we won't find out.

  • About 1000 photos missing from IOS6 iPhoto and iPhone - how do I locate or recover them?

About 1000 photos missing from IOS6 iPhoto and iPhone - how do I locate or recover them?
About phone section says i have 3,223 photos - but I can no longer see about 1000 photos from about 2 years ago. This may be connected to recently trying to back up phone to iCloud, but i could not work out how to do that as I can't see any images at all showing in my iCloud account.
I am using iPhone 4s IOS 6.1.13 iPhone - didn't update software previously due to concerns about losing photos, ironically
My iTunes back tells me also that i have 3,303 photos in it - but again I can't understand how to locate these photos
    any help appreciated - thanks

With your iPhone connect to iPhoto, select the photos and/or videos you want to import followed by selecting Import Selected instead of selecting Import All.
It is a good idea to remove the photos and/or videos from your iPhone's Camera Roll after the import process is complete.

  • I cannot delete photo's from my iPad., i cannot delete photo's from my iPad.

I cannot delete photo's from my Ipad that are in adobe file.

    Scenario:
I give my iPhone/iPad to a relative in a different city.
He or she wants to put his or her own photos on the device, but can't.  All the space is taken up.
So, he or she must bring the iPhone/iPad back to me to delete the unwanted photos.
There has to be a work around for this, but I haven't found it yet.
