Photos missing from photo galleries in iWeb 08

I currently have a very big problem with iWeb 08:
after opening & converting the existing domain, and saving, upon re-opening the domain, all photos from the photo galleries are missing. The page is literally empty except for the space holder, not even the menu bar etc. is there.
All other pages are ok, it's just the photo galleries that have been corrupted.
I had saved the old domain, and retried it, it happened also on the second attempt.

I've been doing some experimenting on a copy of a backup I had of my domain files (THANK GOODNESS--be sure YOU have one too!), and I may have resolved my issues:
1. This time, I made sure to put the Domain file in the preferred iWeb location ( i.e. <my user account>/Library/Application Support/iWeb--it wasn't there on my first try (I had it in a different folder location).
2. I double-clicked the Domain file to launch iWeb, which then went through the entire upgrade of the file process again. It took quite a while (20+ minutes), but finished without any errors.
3. I spot checked the photo album pages by clicking to look at them--they had returned!
4. I immediately SAVED and closed out of iWeb.
Now going back into iWeb, evertyhing seems to be functioning normally. I've even made some layout changes to some of the album pages, saved and no problems. I've also applied different templates to other pages (not brave enough to try that on my albums yet!) and that seems to work.
Also, I've not been brave enough to actually PUBLISH yet, but am getting close...
I would, however, still like to see an explanation and official reslution for this problem posted here. This has caused me a great deal of pain, angst and consternation, but I think I'm ok for the moment.

  • Photos missing from photo book

I have recently opened iPhoto and have gone to do another photo book/Project, and was just checking an older book I made and have noticed some photos are missing from the book/Project? They are also not in the Album with all the photos I used for the book? Does anyone have any idea where these could be? Could they have been removed from the iCloud? I do not remember deleting these images from iPhoto so is there any way of retreiving them from anywhere else?
    Many thanks, Ian

Are they in an event anywhere?

  • Photos missing from photo stream

I had over 900 photos saved to my photo stream, my phone was stolen and when I turned my iCloud on on another device I just had the 300 most recent photos. I had purchased extra iCloud storage to hold all the pictures so this is quite annoying! Had this happened to anyone else and can my pictures be recovered? It is not the first time this has happened to me and I thought iCloud was to prevent it happening!

What you may not realize is that, while your last 1000 photo stream photos will remain on your iOS devices until deleted, only photos from the last 30 days remain in iCloud.  When you enable photo stream you only receive photos from the last 30 days as older photos are no longer in iCloud.  Unfortunately, photo stream photos aren't backed up either so unless you have them on another device or backed up separately, they're gone now.
You can't use iCloud to permanenly store your photos.  As mentioned, photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days.  Also, if you delete them from your phone, they are also deleted from iCloud.  Camera roll photos are included in your iCloud backup, but if you delete the photos from your phone, then continue to back it up, the backup containing the deleted photos will be overwritten by a backup that doesn't, and they will be lost.
To keep your camera roll photos, import them to your computer using your usb cable, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.  If you need to back up photo stream photos that aren't in your camera roll, save them to the camera roll by tapping Edit (Select in iOS 7), tap the photos, tap Share (the share icon in iOS 7), then tap Save to Camera Roll.  Then they can be imported to your computer as well.

  • Random sequential groups of photos missing from Events and iPhoto Slideshow but are in an Album. How do I recover or copy photos back to Events and rebuild slideshow?

Random sequential groups of photos missing from Events, an Album I created, and a slideshow using the photos. This "appears" to have happened when upgrading to Yosemite. When I use iPhoto Library Manager, I see two entries for the Event Information for the date in question, same name, same number of photos, but different sizes. The smaller has the image number but no photo for the given date; the larger has the photos.
Image path for the version with all photos: /Volumes/Promise Pegasus/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Previews/2010/2010_05_24/IMG_0697.jpg
Image path for the version with missing photos: /Volumes/Promise Pegasus/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Previews/2010/2010_05_24_2/IMG_0697.jpg (NOTE the _2 added to the image number.)
I assume that I have to get the missing pictures back in Events so I can reload back into the Album. Hopefully, the slideshow will magically be better.
    Help!

That's an indication that the link/file path between the thumbnail and the master file has been broken.  Do the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
    2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

  • Photos Missing From Album

I upgraded to 10.10.3 and when opening the photos app, all of my albums successfully migrated.  The only issue is that my IPhoto albums were sorted by name and that sort didn't follow.  I unchecked the sort by date and it put most of them in the right place and I manually sorted the rest.  I shut down the program and came back to it a few hours later.  There are now photos missing from the album.  I can't figure out what happened.  I looked in the recently deleted photos and they are not there.  I have them backed up both in IPhoto and in a separate folder, but before I bring them back in I need to know what happened.  Anybody have any ideas???

I agree it would be helpful to know what happened, but I suspect we won't find out.

About 1000 photos missing from IOS6 iPhoto and iPhone - how do I locate or recover them?
About phone section says i have 3,223 photos - but I can no longer see about 1000 photos from about 2 years ago. This may be connected to recently trying to back up phone to iCloud, but i could not work out how to do that as I can't see any images at all showing in my iCloud account.
I am using iPhone 4s IOS 6.1.13 iPhone - didn't update software previously due to concerns about losing photos, ironically
My iTunes back tells me also that i have 3,303 photos in it - but again I can't understand how to locate these photos
    any help appreciated - thanks

With your iPhone connect to iPhoto, select the photos and/or videos you want to import followed by selecting Import Selected instead of selecting Import All.
It is a good idea to remove the photos and/or videos from your iPhone's Camera Roll after the import process is complete.

  • Why my Flagged photos vanished from photo library after I clicked to number next to it??

Why my Flagged photos vanished from photo library?

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • Can not delete photo's from photo library ?

Can not delete photo's from photo library ?

Those are photos that were synced to your phone from your computer using iTunes, and they can only be removed by syncing them off.  Connect your phone to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your phone in iTunes, go to the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and uncheck the photos you want to remove, then click Apply at the bottom to sync your phone.  If you want to remove them all, uncheck Sync Photos.  If you only want to remove some of them, remove them from the folder that you are syncing your photos from.

  • Trying to figure how photos "travel" from iPhoto to my iWeb photo pages

    Greetings,
I have I believe gotten t understand just about all I need for now about building web sites with iWeb and its templates (for now). Works well. I am publishing to my .Mac account (for now).
Now, I want to fully understand how photos albums/pages are kept up/coordinated, on my computer, on .Mac Gallery and on the actual .Web site (on .Mac)
Here what I have done so far in regard to posting and upkeeping photos (works well!):
Selected pics from iPhoto >>> Made albums on my MBP
    Published Albums on Web Gallery
    Built website with iWeb
Built photo pages/my album page (indexing)
Inserted my Web Gallery albums into my website
Published the whole thing on .Mac.
    My questions:
*1. Somewhere in Tutorials, it says that: "with .Mac Web Gallery, you can get the shots you wish you had by allowing friends to contribute photos (from their browsers, email). And, whenever new photos are added, they are automatically sinced to your iPhoto08 library".* I am assuming same should/would happen when my iWeb site viewers upload theirs pics (which I am encouraging!) to my Web galleries via my iWeb site. I do not see that happen however. Web gallery gets of course updated by such uploads, +but NOT iPhoto library.+
    2. Some other iWeb Tutorial states *"If you are a .Mac member, you can publish photos/movies from iPhoto and iMovie directly to your Web Gallery. When a Gallery photo album is updated, your website is updated automatically with the new content."*. In the case of my site viewers' uploads to my gallery, works OK, but +my site's pages do not show the new photos.+. Any way to better coordinate my .Mac Web galleries with my (also) .Mac Web Pages?
I hope this is clear enough. I have LOOKED for some more info/tutorial about iWeb/Web Galleries/Viewer photo uploads from my Web site, but have not founded anything specific.
    Thanks for any advice!
    - Roger Y

_*Thanks a lot, Wyodor for your detailed reply.*_
It just happens that I have gotten quite fond of the way iLife as a suite - along with its online (.Mac in my case) components) seem to keep a good, purposeful flow of things going.
So, indeed, as I am currently looking at the stuff on my .Mac site, Web GAllery and My Pages respective materials are not actually linked in terms, especially, of allowing Web Gallery albums' updates to "flow" into My Pages areas.
Too bad in a way! Unless I decide to use the Widget feature in iWeb to link my website photo pages specifically to Web Gallery albums - as suggested by Roddy. Currently I use iWeb template system - with Photo Pages and MyAlbums index.
    You stated:
+"Your iWeb page shows the tiny player with your dotMac Webgallery.+
+Click on the tiny player, and the full Web gallery opens."+
    Where is that button actually?
"Your iPhoto library will be update updated vice versa."
I'll have to check that out then!
    Thanks again!

  • Photos Not Syncing; Photos Missing From Albums, No Error Message, Running iTunes for Windows & iOS 7.1.2

I am having an issue with syncing my photos on my iOS devices running iOS 7.1.2, the two being an iPhone 4s and iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G.
When I sync photos, I keep on having photos turn up missing from entire albums. I have tried everything I can to resolve this issue from the support article titled <a href="http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3697">iTunes: Unable to sync photos</a>, and nothing has successfully worked in any kind of permanent form. I have even gone so far as to sync albums individually with a limit of around 400-500 total photos per sync, (give or take), and tried using what very little options I have on the photos tab for my devices in iTunes to essentially trick the devices to sync the missing photos. Despite this, iTunes still fails to sync newly added photos from the source location.
I have even made the attempt of re-installing iOS 7 on both devices, and restoring from backup. Again with no avail.
My best guess for my iPhone is that as it is a 16 GB, not all of 15.6 GB of photos will sync to the device, (go figure), but that doesn't explain why recent photos aren't added OR why my iPad 2 of 64 GB has missing photos.
As of this post, I have an estimated 38,940 files, spread across 1,703 folders, (a large amount of folders being in some of the folders; from my knowledge never being more than two folders in). They are all in one dedicated folder on a hard drive I've dedicated to iTunes and music related files, (for the sake of AVOIDING this kind of nonsense, I might add).
As for the system OS and iTunes, I am running Windows 7 64 bit, and I am using iTunes 11.2.2.3, but will have updated to iTunes 11.3 by the time anyone responds.

I have the exact same problem.
Same kind of photos/videos taken with the same camera randomly sync.
    Did 11.3 fix this issue?
    Sincerely

  • Now I'm just ****** off - original photos missing from iPhoto

    Ok.
So I had this problem the other day after upgrading to iPhoto 6 (see here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=406534&tstart=0)
That seemed to get solved from the information provided.
OK, great. So today, I'm flipping through some albums, and I discover, much to my chagrin, that some photos (all of which appear to be from 2000/2001) have thumbnails, but no longer have the photos attached.
And before you say, "hey, do you have the apple support framework 1.4?" why yes, I've already checked.
And before you say, "hey, did you try rotating/exporting/dragging the photos to your desktop?" Why yes, I've already tried.
As a matter of fact, when I try to go into the iphoto library file structure itself, and open some of these older photos (after searching around for them because ever since the upgrade, I appear to have about 800 different files in my iphoto folder), I get a message that the image either doesn't exist or is corrupt.
Speaking of the file structure, This is a list of what I get now when I open the pictures folder in finder:
    2000 (folder)
    2001 (folder)
    2002 (folder)
    2003 (folder)
    2004 (folder)
    2005 (folder)
    AlbumData.xml
    bdayfun.jpg
    Data (folder)
    Dir.data
    iPhoto.ipspot
    iPhotoLock.data
    iPod Photo Cache (folder)
    Library.cache
    Library.data
    Library.iPhoto
    Library6.iPhoto
Modified (folder - NOTE: THIS DOES HAVE AN INTERNAL FOLDER FOR 2006, BUT NONE FOR 2000 0R 2001)
Original (folder - same as "Modified")
    Thumb32Segment.data
    Thumb64Segment.data
    ThumbJPGSegment.data
All of the photos (so far) that appear to not open are from 2001 and earlier. They are also photos that were taken with an old digital camera, and have file names such as "3 - 141" rather than the more current file naming conventions (but I didn't name these photos - iPhoto did, based on the original roll imports.
I'm finding it extremely frustrating that iPhoto wasn't upgraded in a way that took into account how previous versions of iPhoto itself worked!.
Nevermind that I've submitted multiple bug reports about the fact that iPhoto continues to crash every time I try to empty the trash folder, and have heard not a peep out of Apple.
    iMac G5; PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    Hi Samantha,
I know it must be frustrating. there is some info in the iPhoto Help files for missing photos:
"What to do about a missing photo
When you import or edit photos in iPhoto, they are saved in the iPhoto Library folder, located in the Pictures folder on your computer.
If you move, delete, or otherwise change a photo in the iPhoto Library folder, and then open the iPhoto application and try to edit or use that photo, iPhoto may not be able to find it. You will see the missing photo indicator instead (shown below).
To find or replace a missing photo:
If you have the original photo file, either on a CD or on your computer, just import it again into iPhoto. For more information, see Related Topics below.
If you don't have the original photo, or you are trying to find an edited version, try one of the following options.
Click your computer's Trash icon (not iPhoto Trash) and see if the photo is still in there.
    Do a search.
To search within the iPhoto Library folder, open your Pictures folder and then open your iPhoto Library folder. From there, click Command-F, choose Images from the Any pop-up menu, and enter a search term.
To search all your files and folders, in the Finder, choose File > Find and enter a search term.
IMPORTANT: When you find the photo file, don't drag it directly into the iPhoto Libary folder. Save it to your desktop, then import it back into iPhoto from there.
If you don't know the file name, try going back to the original iPhoto Library folder and look at the other images. If one is missing in a numerical order, it may be the photo you're looking for and you can search for it. If that doesn't work, try searching on the date you think you moved the file, or the date you last edited it."
As far as your file structure, those loose year folders (if empty) can be deleted or dragged to the trash.
If the Year folders have photos in them that are missing from your library, drag them to the desktop and import the photos into iPhoto.
Here is how the library should look and what the folders contain.
iPhoto 6 Library folder in the Finder
As you can see the structure is now related to rolls. Rolls are created for each folder you import and each import session from a camera.
It is very easy to change the names of film rolls within iPhoto to make them easier to find images within. Open the info panel in iPhoto by clicking on the "i" icon. Once it is opened, click on the roll title in the viewing window.
Click on the word "title" in the info pane and type in your new title. I like to use a date and text format such as 12/25/05 Christmas at Mom's, 1/05/06 my birthday, etc. Once the roll names are changed within iPhoto, they are also changed within the Finder, making it easy to locate an image.
When importing from a camera, make sure you name the roll with a date and text before the import.
As far as the trash is concerned, move most of the photos back into the library and delete a few at a time, then empty iPhoto's trash.
Some people have found success on making sure the trash folder is highlighted then go to iPhoto>empty trash.

  • Photos missing from camera roll

About two months worth of photos are missing from my camera roll.  Don't know when this happened, only noticed it recently.  I would have thought they were backed up to the iCloud as I have back up on, but have no idea why they aren't reappearing in my phone if they are.  Any idea how I find out where they have disappeared to?

Yes, new backups will overwrite old ones. Backing up to iCloud is a backup. to be used for disaster recovery. It is NOT permanent storage for photos. Likewise, photo stream is NOT permenent storage. You need to be extracting the photos to your computer like you would from any other digital camera and storing them someplace safe.

  • Photos missing from Camera Roll but but not from Whatsapp

This is some weird situation here. I got my new iphone (6). Old one was 4s. I backuped to my computer, then restored from backup for new iphone. But last 10-12 photos are missing from camera roll but when i try to send a photo to one of my whatsapp contacts i can see those photos there. Dont know what to do to bring them back. Help please

I also have the same problem. I upgraded a 3G to 4 iOS and lost one of 2 camera rolls. I've searched for the answers too and got next to nothing! I searched apple's support website using the iPhone as the device and used the key words: "iphone upgrade 4 lost photos" and got information on a mac laptop! I got more info by Googling the same key words but still no fix. So I called apple and after a few meager attempts I was told "Sorry they are lost". I asked about a fix coming out and was told they "are still examining the problem, to see if anything can even be done about it." Maybe it’s my fault for thinking any man made device could be dependable... I would give up my iPhone now and forever to retrieve those photos. They were mostly of my children, ages 3 and 5, taken over the last 2 years... starting in the AT&T store, the day I bought my iPhone.

  • Photos missing from Cloud

I have an iphone 4, and it got stuck on the boot screen a few hours ago. After it never loaded, I did the restore on it. However, I had not actually backed it up to my computer itunes account since New Years Eve. Yes, 4 months ago. Sad. After the restore, I realized that I had lost my the one important text thread--I'll live. However, my cloud was turned on, on my phone. Most of my pictures were backed up, but not all of them. The pictures and videos I had on my phone from New Year's Eve until about 2 weeks ago are missing. I thought they were supposed to automatically back up to cloud when the phone is connected to wi-fi. Can someone please explain why this didn't happen so I can prevent it in the future. I went ahead and exported my pictures to my external harddrive, but not the ones I am missing. Also, is there any way to get those pictures back since it had been so long since I had done a backup? I just want to be able to be prepared in the future if this were to happen again.

    HI,
Have you done this before ? And if so, is photo stream turned on on your iphone and ipad. and as Alfred DeRose pointed out they must both on the same icloud account.
If you're new to this, you might want to do some research. Photo stream is different from camera roll and albums. Many have been on this sight looking for their photos stored in icloud after restore, etc. and they're not there. Also, after thirty days icloud deletes your photos from photo stream.
So if you're not aware, you might want to google your question. We're using the camera connection kit soon and I am learning about it. From all I've read, I'm also not the biggest icloud fan. I use dropbox. We plan to put photos taken on ipad with a camera/iphones into albums on the ipad. We'll keep all on the sd card until (and after) they can be uploaded to a computer.
An example of an article we can learn from -
    http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/how-to-understand-and-work-with-your-iclo ud-photo-stream
    Hope this helps.
