Photos not appearing on the photo map on iPhone 6

Hi,
I got a new iPhone 6 yesterday. I had until then been using the iPhone 5. When iOS 8 came out I had to delete a lot of photos from the iPhone 5 to get space for the update. I backed up all my photos on my Macbook. Yesterday I synced all of my photos onto my new iPhone 6.
A strange thing is that in the map function on the Photos app only the photos that were not synced (i.e. those that had remained on the iPhone 5 and were part of the iCloud backup) appear on the map. It seems that the "map info / gps coordinates" on the synced photos somehow have been lost. However in the Photos app the names of the places / towns where the photos were taken still appear (they were all taken with my iPhone 5) so there clearly is some gps coordinate information there. To make this even more confusing, YESTERDAY, right after syncing all these photos DID appear on the photos map, but this morning they do not (only the photos that were not synced do).
Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggested solutions? I really loved being able to see exactly where my holiday photos etc were taken, so I hope I have not lost this for the synced photos permanently.
Many thanks,
S

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.

If you are seeing your photos in "Last Import", the photos are somewhere in your library. Perhaps the dates are wrong, and you do not see the photos arranged by date, where you expect them to be.
Select one of the photos on "Last Import", then ctrl-click it and select "Show in Event".  That will take you to the event in event view.

  • Why does it take so long for uploaded photos to appear in the photos folder?

It takes too long for uploaded photos to appear in the photos folders.  I do not like the "new" photos.  I much prefer iPhoto.  Can I make iPhoto my default or am I stuck with this stupid Photos???  Editing is lousy, too.

You can continue using iPhoto depending on what version your have?  Currently the only version that runs with 10.10.3 is iPhoto 9.6.1.  What version do you have?  Also do you have a backup copy of your iPhoto library made just prior to upgrading to 10.10.3?

  • The device does not appear in the application find my iphone

The device does not appear in the application find my iphone. Because of this I can not lock my ipod 5

    Try
    iCloud.com from a computer
Select the Find My iPhone green circle
               Top center select All Devices
Note is it shows here you can remove it from here too.
If it's not there it's linked to a different Apple ID

  • Why do some photos not appear in the book I am creating?

I am composing two books at the moment and will want to order them shortly.
The problem I have is that, sometimes the photos do not appear when you drag them into the book - it just shows an exclamation mark. However if you look at the layout in the top section, it appears.
The photos not showing are either very high-res digital pictures from a professional photographer or scanned photos, but the scanned ones are of similar (OK) quality and identical resolution to others which are visible.
I am worried what will happen when I go to order the book - will these pictures not upload?
Does anyone know why this is happening or a fix?

The ! or ? turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
The most common cause of this is User Activity in the iPhoto Library Folder in the Finder.
Have you altered, moved or renamed anything in the iPhoto Library Folder?
If you haven't, then try rebuilding the database. Hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.

  • Edited photos not appearing in the right collection

Managing collections in Lightroom 5.7, Camera Raw 8.7 (recently upgraded). Edit in "Photoshop CC 2014". I save the edited photo but it doesn't appear in the correct collection in LR. I can find it if I search among "All photographs" in Lightroom.
How do I understand in which collection it has been placed? And why is it no longer the same collection of the original pic? Thank you.

You are the second person to report something like this with Lightroom 5.7 Creative Cloud.
Lightroom 5 file edited in photoshop cc 2014 does not appear back next to original after save. Is anyone else having this issue? If so what is the fix.  The edited image appears back in lightroom in a new folder.
If I were you, I would submit a bug report to

  • Edited photos not appearing in the organizer as version sets.

Ever since I upgraded to Photoshop Elements 12 I have experienced one problem after another.  Now I have a new problem.  While editing RAW files in PSE 12, the edits are basically disappearing and are not being tracked in the Organizer in version sets.  However, when I reopen the RAW file it appears that the changes made in the RAW editor are still selected.  I also am still having problems with some of the files disconnecting in the Organizer.  It starts out with a few files disconnecting and eventually they all start disconnecting and then I have to close down the app and then relaunch it.  Sometimes I actually reboot the PC.
I have repaired the catalog and run the optimizer.  I tried optimizing first but got an error so I ran the repair first, no errors but selected repair anyway and then was able to get the catalog optimized.  It worked for about 15 minutes and then the edits started disappearing again.
    VERY FRUSTRATED!!!!
    Carolyn

Editor>Help>Updates and run the update to PSE 12.1.

  • TS3989 photos not appearing in my photo stream

Why are photos I have recently taken not showing up in my photo stream? I have checked to make sure photo stream is turned on and that didn't fix anything.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream when enabled will only add photos from the camera roll that were taken post photostream activation. (Photostream does not currently share video)
Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.

  • Edit changes do not show in the photo as they are made.

I'm using the trial version of Aperture 3 trying to edit my photos. I've imported them by leaving the originals where they are on my HD. When in the edit mode the changes do not appear in the photo. Nothing happens. I assumed I would see the changes in the photo as they were made. Any ideas why this is happening. The trial version is supposed to be fully operable.

How are you looking at your photos after making the changes in Aperture? If you're looking at them in their original location you will not see any changes because Aperture doesn't change the master file.
You will see the changes in Aperture. If you want to use one of the images that you modified you need to export it from Aperture. See File->Export->Version

  • Photos not appearing

I have a new ipad and when I press on phots in my email, the d not appear in the photo album. What am I doing wrong?

Are you pressing and holding on the photo until you then get the option to 'Save Image' ? They should appear in your 'Saved Photos' album in Photos (the album itself won't appear until there is at least one photo in it)

  • Photo Stream photos not showing up in Photos Collections

I've noticed on my iPhone 5s, many photos from Photo Stream are not appearing in the "Photos" tab where I can view photos by year, collections, moments, etc.  I have many Photo Stream photos appearing, but it is sporadic.
On my iPad, all Photo Stream photos appear in the Photos tab just fine.
I've attached a screen shot from each of my devices as an example.  Both devices are pulling from the same Photo Stream, so theoretically, they should be showing the same photos.  My iPad shows 10 photos.  My iPhone shows 2 (shows 3 in the screen grab because one is a video).
How can I force the Photos tab to update to reflect all the photos in my Photo Stream?

I FIGURED OUT THE ISSUE.  But no resolution.
It appears that my iPhone 5s's Photos tab only shows Photo Stream photos of photos RECEIVED from other devices, but not Photo Stream photos of photos that ORIGINATED on my iPhone.  Does this make sense?  Here's an example:
    1) Take Photo A on iPhone
    2) Take Photo B on iPad
    3) Allow Photo A and Photo B to upload to Photo Stream
    4) See Photo A and B in Photo Stream on both devices
    5) See Photo A and B in Photos tab on both devices.
    6) Delete the camera roll copy of Photo A from the iPhone.
    7) Photo A is now MISSING from the Photos tab of iPhone, but is still viewable in iPhone Photo Stream
THUS =  Photos tab is not accessing Photo Stream
I can replicate this on my iPad
    4) See Photo A and B in Photo Stream on both devices
    5) See Photo A and B in Photos tab on both devices.
    6) Delete the camera roll copy of Photo B from the iPad.
    7) Photo B is now MISSING from the Photos tab of iPad, but is still viewable in iPad Photo Stream
This appears to be some way to prevent duplications on your local device.  Apple doesn't want you to see the Photo Stream copy and the Camera Roll copy BOTH in the Photos tab.  However, if you delete the Camera Roll copy, the Photo Stream copy DOES NOT appear in the Photos tab.  This is dumb because I delete the Camera Roll copy as soon as it finishes uploading to Photo Stream.  There is no reason to keep both copies on your iOS device.  However, now I can't enjoy the Photo Stream photos in the Photos tab.

  • Add In's do not appear in the edit menu

I use Nik filters for LR on my MacBook Pro, OS 10.7.4.  I installed the Portraiture add-in.  It did not appear in the Photo - Edit menu.  I reinstalled it several times.  Then I opened the External Editing window and inserted Portraiture.  Now the Nik filters do not appear.  When I change External Editing back to Nik Color Efex it appears in the edit menu but portraiture does not.
Previously all of my 6 Nik filters appeared in the edit menu.  Now only the filter selected in the External Editing window appears in the edit menu.  When I clear the menu in External Editing no add-in's appear.  It seems that only one add-in at a time can be accessed and that the External Editing screen is the only way to access other add-in's, much too time consuming for an efficient workflow.
On my iMac also 10.7.4 all the Nik and Portraiture add-in's appear in the edit menu.
    Is there a fix?

    Apparently fixed with 10.6.2

  • Should your photos all be in the photo section or albums?

I cant figure out how the pics should be organized. When I upload a pic through blogger it opens the photo section of iphoto and all the pics come up as one folder!! 10000 pics in one folder! If you put them in separate albums will this help this out? If I change them into separate albums will the photos not be in the photo part anymore?

So you are calling the photo button the library?
I'm not sure what your question is - there is an iPhoto library which is a special kind of folder called a "package" - by default the iPhoto library is in your pictures folder - You do not need to and should not be going into it
Im new to mac in general so maybe this isnt helping. How do I categorize the pics then?
However you want - many of us use keywords and smart albums - others use different methods
When I imported the library from my old computer they were all in files with subfolders, when I put into i photo they busted out into all separate folders. I dont like it like this, there are way too many folders. Thats why I want to redo them into separate albums I guess.
Again do not go into the iPhoto library and forget about its contents and how it is organized - it makes no difference - you access the photos (not the files) using the tools provided and described in the link on my previous post
You also probably should invest a few minutes in watching the iPhoto tutorials - http://www.apple.com/findouthow/photos/
